so i've been working on this off and on for a while but i feel like theres a few things that are really, really out of place and its bugging me because i can't pinpoint what they are fixing it would be a pain but i'd rather do that now while its still a WIP than finish it and let it stay bad also, a few things to keep in mind - both are dragons - the blue one is supposed to be skinny af - i haven't started on the snow or icy peaks so don't bother talking about that crud yet lmao - what i'm most concerned about is the blue dragons neck

I suggest making the blue dragons chest really close to the body like literally skin on bones if you want to make it SUPER skinny

@burglar hmmm noted, and with the neck i'm just worried that its too thick or the way i've drawn it might have made the twist look odd

I think the neck might be connected too far to the side? Like the middle of the neck and middle of the chest don't line up if you get what I'm saying?

move the shading a smidge so the centers line up that's what I'd try

I think the biggest thing this image is lacking is depth. It's currently very flat looking, and I think the biggest culprits are that the sky is a blue higher in intensity than the dragon and the rocks are all so cool in color that it makes it look like dragon is walking up an outcropping. To add more drama to the picture, you could indicate the swift movement of its head by making its hair look like it is moving. Since it looks like it is taking place in the high mountains, there's a great opportunity to show the intense wind by making the rest of its hair and the snow swoosh in the air.

srry if i sound pretentious here. i like giving tips. the biggest thing i noticed is that the dragon doesn't stand out from the sky too much. okay, okay, so check this out. its your image in gray scale. notice how similar in value the blue dragon and the sky are. it makes the dragon hard to focus on. now heres your image cropped to one area! look at the difference in values. it brings your attention to the head. this is why the values of your colours are really important. if the blue dragon was a bit darker, it would stand out from the background and youd instantly be able to see it. if you use a program with layer modes you can easily change the colour with something like multiply or overlay. id also suggest that you sharpen your cast shadows, such as on the blue dragons hind legs and just under its neck. (i could explain this a bit more but that should be saved for its own thread xp)

I LOVE this.
The neck is ok for a muscular and wellfed dragon. But try arching it so that is does not start so abruptly under the head. "Ease" it into the head. Ugh... hard to explain without drawing it myself...

ssquiffy sphagnosidum ohhh, i see! thanks for pointing it out! i can't change the color too much since that is its true color and the character is not my own, although i'll see what i can do MT i'm glad! and i think i understand what you're saying, i'll give it a shot the trick is making it look like its still twisted haha

I think the wings are attached too far back. Maybe attach them closer to the shoulders.
