Kaleb tried to control his breathing as he thought about how to respond to the jab Simon had thrown at him. "Well, it's really none of your concern Simon," Kaleb glared at the younger boy. "So, mind your own dam* business!"

(sorry, my computer shut off on me last night in the middle of my post. xD)
"Simon, how I choose to spend my time grieving is up to me!" Kaleb shouted, his teeth grinding together and his hands clenched in hard fists. "Get off my back about it! You're not my mother!"

Kaleb's felt he was about to explode. "You're such a pain in my a**! People can grieve however they see fit, not what others believe! You're still a child and you need to leave! Get out, Simon! Just get out!" He was shouting at Simon, his face red with fury, a vein threatening to burst on his temple. "I hate you! It should have been you, Simon, not Travis!" He started to cry, reaching out for the chairs at the kitchen table to sit down. He started to breathe heavily, staring at the floor.

Simons eyes widened at the explosion, hurt flashing in his blue eyes before his features shut down, turning into a neutral mask. It was the only hint that things had gone too far- when he hid his emotions. Simon glanced to the entrance of the kitchen, as if waiting for someone to come down and reassure him that Kaleb was just saying things, before catching himself and telling himself to stop being so stupid. He backed away a few steps, his stomach twisting painfully at the admission, throat closing as tears threatened to actually spill over but he forced them away.
"Well I'm happy you finally admitted it," Simon finally said, voice right before he left the room. He knew it- he just knew it, that others felt the same way about Travis: it should have been him. Simon was convinced everyone else thought that too- that they hated him and he was just a pain in everyone's as.s. He made his way upstairs, mind set once he got to his room. Tears started to spill over as he grabbed his black back pack and stuffed as many shirts, pants, and underwear as he could in there. He took a drawstring bag and put in his deodorant, his favorite books from his shelf, the letters from his dad and his dad's personal copy of 1984, signed by the author himself. Henry had goven it to him for his eighteenth birthday when he saw Simons love for the book. Then he opened up his joirnal, the one he wrote in daily and wrote one last entry:
This was just a sad invention It wasn't real, I know But we were happy I guess I couldn't let that go I guess I couldn't give that up I guess I wanted to believe 'Cause if I just believe Then I don't have to see what's really there
No, I'd rather pretend I'm something better than These broken parts Pretend I'm something other than This mess that I am 'Cause then I don't have to look at it And no one gets to look at it No, no one can really see
'Cause I've learned to slam on the brake Before I even turn the key Before I make the mistake Before I lead with the worst of me I never let them see the worst of me
'Cause what if everyone saw? What if everyone knew? Would they like what they saw? Or would they hate it too? Will I just keep on running away from what's true?
All I ever do is run So how do I step in Step into the sun? -- Once he'd finished writing, still feeling like he was never a part of the family anyways, he shrugged on a few sweatshirts (using a different cologne on each one so it'd be hard to track) Simon grabbed the wad of cash he stashed under his bed and pulled out five hundred of it before leaving the rest- probably three thousand- on the bed for the pack to use, and then just like that he was off. It wasn't like anyone was going to stop him, anyways. Hisond was already set on taking the next train to LA, his multiple medicines forgotten. He sent Colby a text saying he couldn't make it out to Cali, and then left his phone on the porch, not even looking back at his childhood home before he left.
(Special treat to who knows the lyrics I used for his little Rant in his journal that someone should pick up and read when they're looking for him XD)

(I listen to music but I can't seem to rack my brain as to where they're from. ): Sorry to make you sad. :c )
(hahaha I'm listening to Battlefield by Jordin Sparks XD)
Kaleb finally looked up from his spot at the table. He sniffled and wiped his hands down his face. As soon as he heard the front door slam, his stomach churned as he regretted his words. He felt a hand on his shoulder and he tensed up, inhaling a sharp breath. A sweet, familiar scent entered his nostrils. "Travis?" He whispered. "I'm so sorry," he started to cry again.
Travis disappeared and followed Simon, his scent wrapping around the teen.
Madison shivered a bit as she continued walking through the forest with Nico. "Should we make a pact to look at the stars each night? Even if we are apart, we should promise to glance up at the sky just for a second." She turned to her boyfriend, wondering what he thought about it.

"Id like that; id like it a lot actually," he murmured, a small smile on his face as he tore his gaze away from the stars and focused it on Madison. "We should probably go back inside, yeah? Before it gets to cold?" He suggested softly, unaware of what had just gone down at the house. If he did he'd stay out here longer. -- Simon froze when the achingly familiar scent enveloped him, and he felt tears start to fall once again. Rubbing his eyes he whispered, "I'm sorry, Travis. It shoulda been me," before continuing his walk down the country road, eventually hitch hiking with a guy into town. He dropped by the library and explained the situation (his boss promising. To hold his position until things died down, although Simon had no plans on actually returning) and then set off to the train station to buy a ticket to LA, still crying every now and then as he did so.

Travis stayed with Simon the entire time. Once they got on to the train, he physically appeared in the seat across the table from Simon. He only let Simon see him. "Where are you headed, brother?" He asked with his typical sweet smile on his tan face.
"Could we sit down for five more minutes and just watch the sky, please?" Madison pleaded, her lip curled out in a pouty face.

"Oh, I hear it's always sunny there," Travis smiled. He gave Simon a small peace sign and wink. "Not scared to be talking to a ghost?" He laughed softly.
Madison turned to him with a playful smooshed expression (sideways turned head with smile that pushes cheeks up higher). "So what if I do? You can't argue too much with me." She laughed, squeezing his hand with hers.

"And you better not record my craziness on Nyquil," Madison laughed affectionately.
"You shouldn't have been so hard on Kaleb," Travis replied calmly, staring out the window as the train had started to depart from the station. "I know that you are both equally my brothers and yes, his words were uncalled for, but you forced him there. And now you're doing the same thing he did to you; leaving unannounced and for an undisclosed amount of time. On the one hand, you're just as bad as he is, but that's because he loves too much. You two are more alike than you think."

"If I do its only so you can see it," Nico responded, bumping her with his shoulder. -- Simon winced at the chastising, knowing that he was right in a way. He didn't like to think about it- that they were so similar, or that he was doing exactly what Kaleb had done. The teen pulled his knees up against his chest, shaking his head at the comment of him loving too much. "I know, I know I shouldn't have, I was just so angry that he'd left, hurt really. But I really think you're wrong on him loving too much- he doesn't love me at all. And I don't plan on going back there if I'm unwanted like that," He told his brother, somehow able to keep it together.

"Colby can only be so much family for you," Travis pointed out. "And that being said, you think about how much you want me to be wrong about Kaleb. You hate admitting when others are right. I'll let you wallow in self pity for now." Travis then disappeared, getting in the last word this time, his smile the last thing to disappear from view. It was both hilarious and creepy at the same time. He thought it was funny he was channeling his favorite movie character, the Cheshire Cat.
"I hate you!" Madison laughed punching him in the arm with a bright smile.

"I'm not going to Colby," he snapped at his fading brother, bristling at that comment. He genuinely had no plans on seeing him, either, just wanting a fresh start with new people. He sighed, knowing his brother was right when he said that Simon hated being wrong, but here Kalebs words dug deep, and he took them to heart. He genuinely believed that Kaleb thought that it should have been Travis instead of him, and, frankly Simon thought that too. "Bye, brother. I love you," Simon added with s sigh. -- "No, you liiiike me," he teased, a smirk on his face at that.

"I'm still here," Travis reappeared at the statement. He laughed. "Get out of your head, brother." He raised an eyebrow before disappearing again. "I'll still be around and I'll come when you need me."
"Shut up and enjoy the stars," she grumbled sheepishly.

"Because I don't want to," Travis chuckled while making a face. "Did it ever occur to you that I want to be with you right now? My dad never let us travel very far from home and now I get to live vicariously through you."
Kaleb shut off the stove and threw out the food Simon had started after he left it for a few hours. He left a note for his father and grabbed his keys and jacket. He headed for Adelaide's house. It had was now 6 pm and couldn't stand to be without her for another minute. He sighed as he closed the door behind him. Maybe Adelaide would have a solution to the problem he'd just created.
Madison yawned. "It's getting late and cold," she replied, rubbing her hands against her chilly arms. Her teeth began clattering as she stood up. She reached a hand down to help up Nico. "What should we get for dinner? I'm craving some Italian food."

Adelaide kept glancing to the clock, it was just about 6 in the evening and she had heard no word from Kaleb. Of course it wasn't super late, but she did figure he'd be over by now. She keeps unlocking her phone, going to his contact like she's about to call but she always stops herself before she does and just goes back to pacing or pulling out a book and skimming the pages, only to put it down and pace some more. The short girl gives a heavy sigh, something wasn't sitting right with her, and she just felt like something was wrong but couldn't place it, just a bed of uneasiness was residing within her. Finally, she stops moving around and sits on her couch instead, twisting a lock of her hair around her index finger before smoothing her hands over her skirt.

Kaleb sighed and grabbed his keys. He'd left a note on the door for the pizza guy to just put the pizzas on the table for the rest of the pack. He left $50 with the note to pay for everything, including tip. Blinded by the hell he'd caused, he drove into town, texting Adelaide as he did so. Can I have your address please, babe?

"You have a point there," he admitted with a chuckle, leaning back and grinning at his brother. "Hey, who knows, maybe you'll see my childhood home. I was thinking of visiting if," he said, brightening a little bit at the thought of seeing the house he hadn't seen in fourteen years. "I'd love to!" Travis smiled, looking giddy.

(Hey! Does anybody need some graphics? I made my own graphics shop and I need some traffic. (: )
Kaleb drove in silence and reached Ade's apartment a few minutes later. He let out a huge breath as he parked in a free spot in front of the building. He put the car into park and pulled the key out of the ignition. He unlocked his door and clicked his seat belt off and climbed out of the car. He slammed the door behind him and pressed the lock button on his keychain. He stared at the ground as he jogged up the outside steps, pressing the call button on the side of the building. "Hey, it's me." He spoke into the microphone, his voice quiet and distant.
