Am I the only one who thinks this novella is a bit...unnecessary? I mean, in Bluestar's Prophecy, we learn why Spottedleaf chose to become a medicine cat. And this novella seems to be about her decision, based on the summary. I just think it's a bit pointless imho. Thoughts?

It will definitely work. Kawaii heart powers of warm love that somewhat resembles Piper McClean ftw.

I feel like we might just be retracing old ground. Won't know until it comes out though... I will be very disappointed if this has something to do with her non-existent relationship with firestar.

seriously. this novella is probably going to be completely useless and maybe a money grab (Probably going to deserve the hate right now). what else do we need to know? she quit warrior training to become a medicine cat, she gave the prophecy "Fire will save the Clan." then she died and watched over Firestar until she died again in The Last Hope. what else do we need to know?

I expect the title to be literal and it will just be an overly long, in-depth description of Spottedleaf's heart
Nah but really I do agree. We learn in BP why Spottedleaf became a medicine cat. That's all we need. We don't need to expand on every background detail in all of the books.

It'll be about her loving Firestar. That's what I seriously think.

I think it's unnecessary. Spottedleaf was only in the first half of the first book and we hardly saw her speaking to Firepaw. The only way it will work is if we actually get to see a relationship develop between the two. Maybe there was some off-page stuff we missed. The mini story "Spottedleaf's Honest Answer" was plenty for me though.

I think that it will be about her meeting and falling in love with Firestar.

Unnecessary, indeed. I mean, Vicky said it was to prove how horrible Thistleclaw was. Still, uncalled for.

Honestly I want to forget Spottedleaf's Heart exists tbh..... I hate this current trend of cats being forced into Med Cat positions as though its a punishment. When was the last time we saw a cat willingly become a med cat apprentice without originally having wanted to be a warrior??? In Into the Wild she seemed to me like this was a choice she had made from the beginning and even in Yellowfang's Choice Featherwhisker mentions that Spottedkit is taking a keen interest in herbs and medicine!!! He said he would make her his apprentice when shes old enough!! So many contradictions smh Erins

Unnecessary, indeed. I mean, Vicky said it was to prove how horrible Thistleclaw was. Still, uncalled for. Why is Thistleclaw being singled out? Pinestar and Dustpelt both had the hots for their mates when they were still apprentices. Brambleclaw was a warrior before Squirrelflight was even freaking BORN, and StarClan gave their blessing on that one! I am as disturbed as the next person by what transpired in this novella between the two, but for goodness's sake, it's hardly the first time!

I flat-out refused to buy the novella bundle it was in, needless to say [hooray for PDF's]. Which is a major shocker for me, given that I'm usually all about supporting authors. And I agree, the novel as a whole was unnecessary. If you wanted an excuse to put Thistleclaw in the Dark Forest because of your poor writing, then perhaps you should have taken a deeper look at his character and made an attempt to write him better, give an actual reason for him to be there beyond disgusting your audience.
The only good thing about it was more Bluefur/Redtail moments.
