just putting this out there for input, but since i know not everyone has also joined figment, the site i'm hosting all my fics on, would it be terribly unreasonable to construct a pinglist?
the idea would be that, if you want updates for when i post a new story/update an ongoing story but you aren't following me on figment to get email notifications, i give you a ping in a designated thread here and say "hey, [insert story] has been updated!" and we all go on our merry ways? i would never ping anyone who hasn't specifically asked for a ping, and i'd be happy to remove anyone from a pinglist if that's their desire. i just wanted to know if this sounds like a viable option to you guys, again, specifically those of you who read my work but aren't on figment.

i think that's a good idea personally tbh (and if you do end up doing it i'd love to be added)
i think that's actually a good idea for everyone to try out here...like fanlists could be switched with ping lists (i.e. instead of asking to be fanned, ask to be pinged) o:
edit;; i say this as someone who does have a figment but i don't look at my email that often so a pinglist would catch my attention faster

m'kay, then maybe we can start making this a thing! because honestly? i love pinglists. i love them so much. being able to ping people to get their attention is a godsend. also, on the topic of adding you to a pinglist... ✨ ιηνєяѕєяєαℓιту i have a new fic on figment. [wiggles eyebrows] |

Yes I would love that idea! Pinging is so great because now I don't have to worry about my fans not seeing that I updated, they will see the ping the moment they log on which is great. It especially works for your case because I don't use figment, but I do still want to keep up with your stories so getting a ping when you do update would be awesome.

I think this is a great idea to use on this forum (or wherever) in general. I think it's pretty effective, too; Ephemeral added the next chapter of The Absence of Rain earlier and pinged me and some others and I saw it right away. ^^
