(Sure ^^)
He swore to himself as he pressed a hand against the wound on his side. Lucas removed the hand from his side and glanced down at it. His eyes widened slightly as he saw the amount of blood on his hand, but there wasn't much he could do about the wound other than apply pressure to it. He had lost his backpack that contained a small first aid kit and an extra shirt in a fight, so he now had nothing to use to treat it. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't his only would. He had a few shallow cuts on his face and forearms, and he had a deep gash running down his leg. That gash hadn't seemed as serious to him, so he hadn't been as concerned about it.
Lucas pressed his hand against his side again and glanced around. He was currently on the outskirts of what looked like a nice neighborhood, so he didn't want to remove his shirt and tear it to use it as a bandage. He took a step forward, nearly tripping over a piece of raised concrete. It never occurred to him just how risky being in a neighborhood was - as many people believed the public fear about vampires - but he needed to get help for his wounds. His vision was blurry at best, and he wasn't sure how much longer he would stay conscious.

MacKenzie didn't know what she was doing walking her rat terrier so late at night, especially on a Friday night with the teenage drunks running around like alcohol was going out of style. She may have known better but obviously they didn't, which put her on edge. At least she lived in a small neighborhood, and most people were trustworthy. Well, the people Mackenzie had met anyway.
She was pulled out of her paranoia when she accidentally tripped over her small black and white dog. Jax, the dog, yipped in both pain and surprise, to which Mackenzie immediately bent down and began trying to comfort him. She always felt bad when she accidently hurt Jax or made him sad - dogs were very convincing she had to admit - and always ended up carrying him the rest of the way or if they were home, give Jax a treat. And a lot of them. But she stopped petting him when Jax started to squirm and then suddenly went stiff, his ears up and tail erect, looking at something in the distance. She couldn't really see who or what it was, but obviously Jax did, and he began to bark in that rapid and high pitched way. Mackenzie stood up from where she was crouched and squinted at the silhouette limping forward. She was so focused on the figure, out of both being paralyzed with fear and curiosity, that she didn't have time to prevent Jax from sprinting forward, charging his tiny body at the figure in the darkness that seemed to become more visible by the second

It took Lucas longer than he would have liked to notice the figure in front of him. He stopped, trying to focus on what was happening in front of him. His eyes widened as he heard someone trip and what sounded like a dog bark. "Sh-," he slurred, applying more pressure to the wound as he bent his blinked a few times, hoping that would focus his attention on who was in front of him. Maybe he would get lucky and the figure wouldn't notice him.
But luck wasn't on his side, as he heard the dog begin barking. At that, he moved his right foot back, panicked and ready to run. Well, he would have run if pain hadn't shot through his side. Lucas took a knee as Jax began running toward him. "Stay away from me," he mumbled, trying to focus on the dog to stay conscious. The last thing he needed was for his owner to follow and find him. While he needed to get help, he never wanted to find it like this. He found that it was more suspicious to run into someone on the street and see him in his condition than to break into a house and find a first aid kit. At least with the latter, he had a chance to get away without anyone seeing him.
After letting out a grunt, Lucas stood again. He removed his hand from the wound and bunched up his shirt before pressing it on top of the injury. It was already coated in blood, but he had little choice. His hand wasn't stopping the bleeding, and he didn't have another option - unless the person in front of him wanted to help. He didn't remain on his feet long, as he felt unsteady on his feet. He took a knee again and pressed his free hand against the concrete, blinking furiously to try stay awake.

Jax had kept barking once he had reached the man who he soon remembered to be Lucas after taking a few good sniffs. Jax was a puppy when Mackenzie and Lucas were friends in middle school, and he recalled going on walks to the park so Mackenzie and Lucas could hang out. It was only when Mackenzie was in eighth grade did the government start sparking fear in the hearts of the ‘normal’ United States citizens and banishing, arresting, and hunting vampires. That was the last time Jax saw him, and Mackenzie as well. She was a junior now in high school, but she would surely have to recognize him after he was patched up.
Jax ceased barking and started walking around Lucas, licking his hand every now and then almost trying to comfort him. Either that or get Lucas to pet him. It was Jax’s suddenly going quiet that made Mackenzie go closer to the figure, as well as the fact that the man had gotten down on the ground. And not in a way that he was sneaking around, but in a way that she could tell he was hurt. “Hello? Are...you alright?” she asked hesitantly, her voice making her sound quite meek. Mackenzie couldn't think finding an injured stranger in the middle of the night surely couldn't be a good sign. Maybe the person who had hurt them was still around, they were pretending to be hurt to lure people closer to try and ‘help’. Well, she was about to find out in a few moments nonetheless.
Once Mackenzie started coming within about twenty feet or so of the person, Jax scampered over to her and started to move in circles around her as if trying to get her attention before darting back to the man. He started to bark again, but this time to Mackenzie, trying to get her to come closer. She could only pray that it was true that dogs were good judges of character and her’s actually knew what it was doing. “sir?” she asked again, her voice still hesitant and a bit shaky.

Lucas let go of the bunched up portion of his shirt and pressed his other hand against the concrete to steady himself. He briefly glanced over at Jax, unable to find the strength to push the dog away. He found the dog's occasional licking of his hand to be distracting and oddly comforting. Off hand, he couldn't recall the last time an animal liked him enough to get near him and comfort him. Usually, animals backed away or got defensive when they sensed he wasn't human. "What the hell do you want?" He slurred, directing the question at Jax and not realizing that he had gone back over to Mackenzie. Suddenly, his arms gave out, sending his face toward the concrete. Lucas let out a few swear words and a grunt before lifting this face from the concrete. He had a few more scrapes on his face, but he didn't feel them bleeding. They sure did sting though. Now that she was closer, he got a better look at Mackenzie. "Help," he managed to say before his face headed back toward the concrete as his eyes closed.

Mackenzie wasn't sure who the man’s rude words were towards - Mackenzie or Jax - but she was about to comment on it nonetheless. That is, until he practically face planted into the concrete. That had to hurt, considering he was already in horrible condition. She could see the blood drip down from his side and onto the concrete. Well, she couldn't really see it, but it had to be blood that fell. What other bodily fluid could it be coming out of his abdomen? Her eyes widened in surprise at the sight of it all. It was almost too much quite frankly. But it wouldn't do anyone any good if she fainted, so she tried to focus on Jax to make sure she didn't. Jax kept weaving around the man and Mackenzie in an almost figure eight sort of shape as she bent down to help pick up the man. She tucked a strand of her dark brown hair behind her ear and slowly tried sitting him up as she put one of his arms across her shoulders. “Can you walk? Or at least limp?” Mackenzie asked, both fear and concern laced in her voice. Her large brown eyes followed suit with those emotions from behind her black glasses

Lucas let out a grunt as Mackenzie helped him to his feet. He leaned heavily on his left foot as the wounds on his side and leg were both on his right side. Both his hands had blood on them, so he transferred some to her shirt as he gripped her upper arm to try steady himself. Surely that would be the least of her concerns, as parts of his shirt were coated in the red liquid. "I-I think I can, but I'm not sure how far I'll be able to make it," he admitted as he felt some blood begin dripping down from one of the fresh scrapes on his face. He used his free hand to wipe that blood off his face before dropping it to his side and wiping it on his already bloody and torn shirt. "And you better go fast because my vision is blurring scarily fast." He couldn't see much, and what he could see was dark and shapeless.

Mackenzie felt the blood that couldn't stay on his person spread to her own. It was still warm, and sticky. She wanted it off but she couldn't do much about that now until she got him help or helped him herself. She started have him lean more of his weight on her, as she hated for him to be supporting more of his own than he should in this state. Mackenzie fumbled for her phone in her back pocket and tapped on the emergency call button. However, she didn't type anything in yet. “Would you like me to get you an ambulance?” she asked as she tried to move as quick as she could. But that wasn't very fast considering she was supporting at least twice her weight and the person she was holding onto was limping. Perhaps they didn't have a phone on them and they couldn't call the police or EMTs. “Or family of yours?” she added the suggestion. Hopefully he wouldn't have to stay with her, she can't imagine what her parents would think. Unless she maybe hid him in the basement?

Lucas gripped her shoulder tighter as he shifted his weight from his left leg to her. His grip was maybe a little tighter than was humanly possible, but it wasn't tight enough to hurt Mackenzie's shoulder. However, his grip was the least of his concern, as most of his attention went to making sure he put one foot in front of the other and didn't pass out while being supported by the smaller girl. "Don't get an ambulance," he said. "Don't get those guys involved." It would create more trouble than he was willing to deal with, and it would likely end poorly for him. "Don't have anyone I can call. Haven't seen my family in years." The truth about why he hadn't seen them in years was something he didn't want to share with her, or think about really. "...And keep talking. Maybe it'll be enough to keep me awake." He blinked a few times, hoping it clear his vision enough to see something in the darkness.

Why Lucas wouldn't want to get the authorities involved was beyond her, but she would do as he says. Maybe he had a good reason for that. Whether it be personal or not, didn't matter, she would respect his decision. But if he died, that wasn't on her hands. “um uh okay.” she said somewhat hesitantly to his request to keep talking. However, talking didn't seem like the best thing for him to do right now, he should save his strength considering the state he was in. At least her house was only about another two minutes away. “I'm going to have to keep you in either the attic or the unfinished basement. My parents don't go to either spaces. Which would you prefer.” Mackenzie grunted, trying to keep herself steady underneath the pressure he had put on her from his hand and the weight she had to support. Talking was quite the effort actually, but walking made it look easy. Jax was padding along behind the two of them, whining every now and then as he did so. His ears were perked and his tail was erect as if he was listening for something. Or he had heard something elsewhere.

Lucas was thankful she hadn't pressed the issue about him deciding to not call an ambulance, though he wasn't about to let her know that in his condition. As Mackenzie presented the two options, he blinked a few more times, but his vision further blurred. So, his options were going up or down the stairs to get to the room. He didn't like either one, but maybe the basement had an entrance from the outside. That would hopefully prevent them from getting unwanted attention. "Basement," he decided before letting out a grunt. As he stepped forward, he nearly tripped, but he managed to keep his balance and not send them both tumbling to the ground. He readjusted his grip on Mackenzie's shoulder, tightening it ever so slightly so he wouldn't trip again. "Your house better be close," he mumbled. "I don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep this up."
