Muse A brings death with them wherever they go. They don’t know why, but plants wither at their touch and just the brush of a hand can cause another human being extreme pain. It’s power, sure, but it’s uncontrollable. Despite that, they work at the castle, as a physician of all things. Maybe death has a way of keeping them close, or maybe they’re working to prevent it while they still can.
Muse B is a noble from a neighbouring Kingdom, at the castle to visit. However, they have a secret of their own. They’re undead, and they’re here for help. They can feel themselves fading all over again, so they’re here to ask Muse A for another extension before they are forced to return. The only problem is, Muse A doesn’t seem to know anything about what they can do, or how to achieve it. With their time quickly running out, Muse B needs to figure out a way to jog Muse A’s memory and kickstart their abilities once more, returning them to their place as ambassador to the Underworld. Fail and they will spend eternity wishing they’d accepted death the first time around.
--- here we are! a simple thread.

woohoo~ okay now for my blabby questions haha.
First, to my understanding, Muse B died and then was brought back to life, and it's a secret but like. how secret lol? should their family know? do they have to worry about changing identities or something every once in a while or so? or maybe, did they die relatively recently (idk anywhere from say 10 - 50 years ago) and so the identity thing isn't a huge deal but like, i'm assuming they don't really age either (for convenience sake and so i don't have to rp somebody super old sobsob)..? maybe they're also super reclusive and that helps with the whole secret thing? idk xD
and, since Muse B is specifically asking Muse A for help, then they know for a fact that Muse A can extend their life even more? It doesn't seem like they would know Muse A personally tho, so has talk of their abilities just gotten around and whoever has helped Muse B in the past possessed those same abilities and so he just assumes that they can? And/or since part of the plot is about recovering Muse A's "memories" and abilities and they're apparently ambassador to the Underworld is Muse A like. a next life or reincarnation or human vessel or something or ahhh idk how to word this but i hope you kinda get what i'm getting at..? x"D
lastly, hopefully lol, can i propose that instead of just fading like a ghost or something, that physical deterioration slowly happens to Muse B? c':

haha, these are all good questions. a lot of it is just open for interpretation honestly, whatever feels like a good idea works. I'll go from what I already had something in mind for and go from there, I think, so if these answers are a bit all over the place I apologise. also, I wrote this plot quite a while ago so a bunch of this is just guessing cx if you have any ideas for any of this, let me know.
I wouldn't say Muse B ages, no (because like you said, that'd make them really old cx). as for how secret it is, I had in mind a fantasy world in which magic isn't really anything new (albeit taboo) and where there are laws applied to different kinds of it, so you'd have magic that was legal and magic that's illegal - a necromancy spell would fall under the second but say a glamour spell to make you look youthful would fall under the first, so that could be an excuse Muse B uses maybe, as long as they died relatively recently. but really, any explanation works, including reclusion or identity changes, depending on what kind of character you'd like to use. whether their family knows or not is totally up to you, as long as it's not public knowledge anything goes!
and this is where I start guessing ^^' I have no idea what I had in mind when I wrote the last few sentences so I could be entirely off here. I'd say yes, Muse A figures it out based on rumours. I'd say Muse A's abilities are pretty easy to recognise if you know what you're looking for. alternatively, maybe the previous 'ambassador' gave Muse B a way to find them again if they ever had to? that would work if it was more of a human vessel thing (that also makes sense when it comes to memories, maybe the human part isn't accepting whatever the other part is and that's why it's not working? idk I'm just guessing wildly here). ahhhh this entire paragraph could be so far from my original ideas idk so if you have any ideas please share because who knows what this is.

ohh yeah having acknowledged magic in this world probably makes things a little easier~ i like the idea of people thinking it's just a glamour spell and that's why he appears youthful - that said, i think i'll have his family know about it so covering up his death and supposed revival wouldn't have been as difficult to do. so he easily could've died idk 50 years ago cuz that's a good number but didn't stay that way for long at all and the family is like ohh we thought he died but he didn't actually haha winkwink. add some reclusive tendencies on their part and it should keep things well under wraps i think. but a good number of his family now is old/dying or dead/or no longer lives in close vicinity of him maybe? idk. i just imagine him being very much a lonely person at this point xD
hmm if we wanna go with the human vessel thing, the ambassador could've told Muse B to look for someone with their abilities the next time they need them bc they specifically wouldn't be around anymore and this new person would carry on the legacy or whatever idk not the word i'm looking for but ya know - and Muse B finally finds out who the "new" ambassador aka Muse A is via the rumors of their powers and just be like finallyyyy. and this way the memory thing could make sense as well, yeah. xD

I like that, yeah! and I like the lonely thing, too. that's a lot of fun to explore, especially when there's some sort of supernatural reason behind it.
ahhhh, yeah, that's a good idea! that makes a lot of sense given the assumptions we've made.
I feel like I should add something here but idk what. have I missed something or am I just tricking myself?

ummm i'm not sure?? there's figuring out what exactly they'll have to try doing to get Muse A to remember what they can do for Muse B, but...we might not need to jump into that just yet unless you have an idea?
otherwise i guess we could get some forms up now? mine's gonna be super basic tho because they're so hard for me now for some reason cries but i must and it actually helps to get a basis down for what i'm doing with them ahh

I can't think of anything right now, no. we'll obviously need to get into it eventually, but it's not urgent so I agree that we should head into forms. mine will either be really basic or a way too long because I can't seem to find a good middle ground. it'll also probably not be up until tomorrow since it's like 1 am here and I should probably get some sleep..

oh dang it's so late there! it's only 8 pm here ;u; go to bed~! hope this is okay lol tho personality is subject to change here and there, i just made up a name for the province of his kingdom because yea
Vincent Ruthven | Marquess of Ostia | Male | "immortalized" at 25, actually 75 years old
With a tall and imposing stature, Vincent appears to be quite the intimidating figure on first impression. He stands just above six feet tall, with a fit build that suggests he's not adverse to physical activity, though it's clearly not his primary concern - basically he's big but not really noticeably big. That's especially apparent with the layers of finery he's always wearing that help to conceal his figure as well speak towards his vanity. You'll likely never see this man dressed in anything less and without a hair in place. Speaking of hair, his is a very dark brown and bit long for a man, just brushing past his shoulders, though he'll generally keep it tied out of his way. His eyes are light brown, leaning toward amber and despite the warm color are...cold. Sometimes piercing. He has a rather angular, unfriendly face in general which doesn't help him look any less unwelcoming.
Despite looking like he wants to kill you, I can assure that he probably doesn't want to kill you. Probably. Vincent is a quiet, solemn man but that doesn't mean he isn't friendly - he'll willingly talk with others and smile and he can shockingly laugh, he just generally prefers more...introverted tasks. This man has a habit - sometimes good, sometimes bad - to think. And think and think wayyy too much about everything. Analyzing and micro-managing are his fortes but, with such an active mind comes a tendency to think too much about the negative things as well. He's incredibly prone to pessimism and anxiety - fretting and worrying and even occasional fits of temper. It's surprisingly (or maybe not not) easy to get on this man's bad side, and maybe that's where some of the intimidation comes from because he can be quite nasty and argumentative when he wants to be.
As the Marquess of Ostia, a neighboring kingdom, Vincent has quite the responsibility on his hands to rule over his lands and look out for his people, a fact that he has never once forgotten and haunts his every step. He's obsessed with staying alive even though by all laws of nature he should be dead; just a little, just a bit more, just until he's no longer needed. Or so he says. Life is far too valuable to give up.

Agnes Leolan ~ female ~ 23 ~ physician at Bruston Court
Agnes is of just below average height and build, yet she seems a lot smaller than those around her than can be explained by size alone. Her presence is a very mild one, and with her meek body language and relaxed posture, she never really takes up more physical space than her size demands. She's pale, although her shoulders are covered in freckles, but her skin isn't the soft complexion of someone who can afford to take care. Her hands are calloused and rough from constant work, as is the rest of her to some extent. Her hair is dark brown with a slight reddish tint to it, and goes no further than to her shoulder blades - just long enough to be braided back on days that call for that. Her eyes are lighter in colour, landing somewhere between green and hazel. Like the rest of her features, they're round although not exactly soft.
If there's one word her peers would use to describe Agnes, it would be reliable. A firm believer in deadlines, Agnes always gets the job done. She takes responsibility where it needs to be taken and is even an adept leader. She's friendly enough, she's not afraid to talk, but she's shy. It takes someone else to initiate a situation, she very rarely approaches someone she doesn't know first. She's private, too, and doesn't really like to talk about herself or her life. This makes her a good listener, but it means that most relationships she gets into, regardless of their nature, drain her quickly. She tends to take criticism incredibly personally; she'll even see it where there's none to find. This affects her maybe a little too much and she's prone to underestimating herself, but also other people.
For reasons she doesn't understand, things have died at her hand since she was a young child. She doesn't know how it happens, exactly, but something as simple as the brush of a hand can set it off. It's rather unpredictable, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. Since she started working in the infirmary at court, these incidents have gotten less frequent, but word spreads fast at court and one time is enough to send rumours flying.
--- so sorry this took so long! I didn't intend to keep you waiting this long, but there we are. it took a little longer than expected.

the power muse a has. It's for a character idea, if I ever come up with a plot for it. If you aren't okay with it I completely understand.
