Sova dropped the mouse and nudged it closer to Sigil with his talons. "This is yours." He said before turning around and walking towards one of the entrances. He was pretty sure Sigil wouldn't want him near in any way, not with the recent iciness between them. He felt sadness rise up again. If he was honest, a little bitterness rose up along with it. He shoved all of the foolish feelings away. One mouse wouldn't change this or what they both were. Sova decided taking up watch while Sigil readied everything was the best way to get out of the way but feel useful. At least it was what he did when he was with the Guardians. He hoped he could return to them after this.

Eventually, Sigil had everything sorted out and mentally noted. Ready to go, he nudged it all out of the little hiding spot. Looking around, making sure nothing was suddenly coming for them, he sighed "Let's go. We lost a lot of time from that attack from those fiends. We'll try making up the distance today." It would be even more tiring than what they flew for their last leg of the trip, but it was necessary if they wanted to get there quickly. For all they knew, the hags were on their way there too, and were trying to kill Sigil and Sova before the two reached the monastery before they did. Snorting, Sigil took flight with a few sweeps of his wings, briefly lowering himself to pick up their supplies in his talons. "I took a look before we slept," he called from above "We have to head a little east to get back on track. Come on."

Sova hooted in confirmation. He raised a talon to help with the supplies, but put it down. There wasn't enough to split, and he didn't want to make Sigil think Sova thought he needed help. "Do you think we can make it today?" Sova asked while opening his white wings. He flapped a couple times to test his wings before hopping and taking to the sky. He started east, not wanting for the hags to catch up. As much as he loved last night, he wouldn't want to repeat the situation.

"No," Sigil said flatly "Tomorrow." And that was that. Turning in the sky, he led the way east to get back on track and to the monastery. Once again did an uneasy silence come across the two owls, conversation obviously not invited. In the end, they were just there to complete a job that needed to be done. After that, he bet Sova would just go back to the Great Tree and celebrate with the Guardians, and leave Sigil to head back to his lonely cave. The idea made his brows bend, and frown coming to his beak. Knowing each other brought so much stress to the table that neither individual needed, and perhaps it would be better for them to part ways. They'd both eventually get over the sadness of officially leaving each other, yes? Pushing the thoughts aside, he continued on, trying to just enjoy the quiet that had come over them once again.

Sova hummed. Three days there and two, if they didn't get attacked, days back. It would be a lie if he said he was upset that their journey was coming to an end. Sure, he would miss Sigil, but this trip had proven nothing was meant to be with them. Nothing like friendship and certainly nothing more. Steady wingbeats were the only thing that filled the silence now. Sova felt his heart sink when remembering their time in the cave. It couldn't happen again. The guardian and hagsfiend came from two different worlds. Sova assumed they could have gotten over this, but no, now Sova knew better. There was still a little part of him that wished everything he thought was untrue and they would work this out. It was too much. Sova couldn't bring him to the tree and he wouldn't abandon the guardians. The owl now looked around, hoping to forget all about these things. He focused on the trees below. From years of scouting, he had learned how to pick out something solid from shadows. The dense forest wasn't making this job easy. He could swear he saw something flitting back and forth between the trees. It was keeping up with them. Sova wondered if he should inform Sigil, but he figured it was his lack of sleep causing his eyes to misread the shadows. In reality, he didn't want to disturb the other owl. Sova feared a greater rift formed between them each time they spoke.
