also question: do you find it better to be writing this for the second time? Like more freedom to put in foreshadowing and make so-called 'artistic choices' and more minute details rather than focus time on the main plot, since it's already established?
I don't know if I worded that right but that's my thought process. curious

also question: do you find it better to be writing this for the second time? Like more freedom to put in foreshadowing and make so-called 'artistic choices' and more minute details rather than focus time on the main plot, since it's already established? I don't know if I worded that right but that's my thought process. curious I'm loving writing this a second time. It certainly does give me more freedom to add things, like you said with minute details (like hinting at things that are to come) and i can add things such as the Three Brothers which gives context to the Yin and Yang aspects of the story that weren't explained in the original (and people still bought it for some reason? they didn't question anything?!) and I can make it a better storyline, one thats not predictable and it can be more complex. I'm giving other characters more screentime (such as Browntail, who was not important at all in the original) and such as well. And having the story already established is super helpful because I already know where the story is going, so I don't need to make up anything to fill in space Though that is also restricting, as I do have to stick to my already established story as well as not deviating from what happens later in my following comics (like I can't have something that contradicts what happens in Broken Wings or The Unforgiven, it's like that time traveling going to the past thing, changing something in the past, affecting the future) I can change small things that don't affect the plots of BW or TU, like introducing the Three Brothers or the Spirits or changing designs a little, but other than that, I have to stick to what's established But my favorite part of this whole thing is that I can look back on my original comic and see how far my art has grown its truly amazing. I can make this Yin and Yang, artistically at least, what I imagined the original to be. I just didn't have the ability back then. Its like... an old remade movie. You watch the original back in the day and it's like "wow this is great!" and then when you go back and watch it years later, you're like "ohmygod I thought this was good what even are these effects". And then the movie gets remade, with all new technology. Yes, it may be different, maybe some things are added or taken out, but its still the same story, presumably. Its just prettier and it's being viewed by a different audience in a different time

I'm in the new audience. Why do I feel proud? XD cause you get to see a story develop that you've never seen before, perhaps? It's all new to you. its like, to use a favorite movie reference, and one I've used before, Star Wars. At least how I see it, the new movies (7-9) are for this generation, but they mirror and echo the other movies, without being completely the same, but that is still what makes them for everyone (i also might be biased, 7 is my favrite). They're not remakes in the sense of Yin and Yang, but they have the same feel to those who are watching it for a "second" time. Both audiences get to see a world get made, for some its watching a world get made for the first time, and for others, its a world they already know well, and maybe even a story they've seen before ahah i just like movie references and explaining things, like how i did for Brownie's question. I like answering my fans' questions in deep and meaningful ways

Oh well my parents think they just recycled all of the plot of Episode 7 and that it wasn't original at all. :/ Probably because they grew up with the old ones and then they see this one and they're just like ". . ."

I like what you said about the art changing and you being able to see that. I have my comic, and I'm only into the first chapter, and I've already seen some major improvements in my art. I'm actually working on a page for it now (after the old one was deleted again) and it's already turning out really well.
The 7th star wars is my favorite too. Can't wait to see what else the directors have planned.

It makes you not only draw, but draw a lot, and often the same thing over and over. Which is the best way to improve at anything, art especially. I'm glad your comic is doing well, too! and yes, i'm super excited as well
