rave's claim~Henry Astor -- ✦ Seventy-Eight ; The Founders ; Headmaster ; Fire & Earth Manipulation ; Asexual/Biromantic Henry is a tall and well-muscled man, especially for his age. He stands at around 6'4" and has a powerful, intimidating stature. He is broad-shouldered and trim, his body usually accented by a dark blue suit and tie. He has an intriguing, unreadable face. Thin, angular, and long, he usually sports a beard that hugs his cheeks and chin with a matching mustache that connects it all together. His hair and beard were once a dark golden color with hints of brown, but have now faded to a cool-toned snow white, making him look much paler than before and nearly washed out. His hair is wavy, but cut shorter in the back and pushed back to keep out of his face. Henry's eyes are his most defining feature and surprisingly considering his ability. Cold and icy blue wraps around the pupil, framed by thinning white lashes and crow's feet and bags beneath his eyes from years of sleepless night's catching up with him. His brows are wispy white, arching up quite high at the arch and then steeply falling at the tail. He has a long and bigger nose that fits his face quite well and low edged cheekbones. One might not call Henry the most conventionally attractive man, but there is something striking to him. / Henry is a quiet, intelligent, and surprisingly icy man. He is unreadable, slow to anger, and slow to speak. While others may chatter quickly and argue, he speaks only when he feels like he needs to. Henry is blunt, honest, and wise, but that has definitely come from his many years on earth and not an intrinsic knowing. He is intelligent, but in a book way. All of the things he's learned, he learned the hard way. Making him the steely father that intimidates many and all. But Henry does have a softer side. He considers Olympia Academy his shining pride and joy, and the Founders his family. His compassion is only for those who work as hard as he believes they should. You won't get sympathy for slacking from Henry. He isn't a sly man, won't undercut and take a shortcut to get what he wants. He's above all else, honest. Henry was born to a decently wealthy family in Toronto. His mother was an heiress who had married a banker and he was the second of four children, and the first son. He had a charmed life and he was primed to take over his father's business right out of college. However, when he was nineteen, his powers and magic opened up after a particularly stressful day. He just snapped while out at a bar with his friends. The alcohol made his brain fuzzy and he couldn't control it. The road beneath his feet cracked and fire erupted from everywhere. He managed to keep his powers under control, thinking he was possessed by the devil or demon for over a year. Until his youngest and favorite sister, sweet little Claire, revealed that she had the other half of his elemental powers. While he manipulated fire and earth, she manipulated water and air. She was not as good at concealing it and was locked away in a psychiatric ward in Vancouver. Her existence was denied, and Henry was angered. He left home out of fear of being found out, which was when he began to find others similar to him after many years on the run. When he tried to go back and find Claire, her records revealed she died of "mysterious" circumstances. Henry left his entire family behind after they locked his youngest sister in a mental hospital when she couldn't control her powers. Since then, the only family he's ever known has been the Founders and the students at Olympia Academy. [ open to the possibility of being in love with one of the other Founders ]. [ face claim: Donald Sutherland ] ✦✦✦ Keziah James -- ✦Thirty ; Wardogs / Professors ; Phobos / Professor of Shapeshifting ; Shapeshifter ; Unclear Quiet and dark as a shadow. To say this man is an enigma is an understatement. Keziah stands at only 5'9" with a stiff athletic stature with a defined silhouette complete with broad-shoulders, a muscular torso, and overall powerful physique. He is classically handsome, but his face reveals nothing and if anything...looks bored. His eyes are gray-green, but any detail is hard to make out, since he often keeps them lowered and kept away from anyone's face, along with his strong brows and dark lashes that shadow them and makes the color hard to make out. He has a slim and angular face with high cheek bones and a nose that's been broken more times than he can count. His hair is cut short, nearly buzzed on the sides and long on top, but only by a bit. It's messy, unkempt but the texture is silky and straight. The color is cool toned and dark, hovering somewhere between brown and black. He has a few scars, the most noticeable one going through his left eyebrow and slicing around his left eye to hook just under it. Most of the time, Keziah sports some kind of scruff, and he's hardly ever clean shaven. / Keziah has been chewed up and spit out by his darker days. Cold, dark, and quiet. He says little to nothing, but he is a surprisingly okay teacher. He has grown to be softer, more approachable, less like a growling hound that would snap at anyone. He isn't forthcoming with anything, and he says little about anything. You'll probably get more out of his dog form than the human Keziah. He is intelligent in a street way, even if he doesn't quite sound it with his rough-around-the-edges way of speaking and heavy accent. He is incredibly competitive, stubborn, ambitious and takes little BS from anyone. Overall, Keziah likes to keep his air of mystery and be the enigmatic shifter everyone is just a little afraid of. He always looks a little rough, like he has had little sleep, and there are usually rumors floating around about how he likes to eat various baby animals. And he'd like to keep it that way. His accent gives away his hometown. Keziah was born in a rough neighborhood of London and is a product of that rougher upbringing. His mother believed herself to be a 'clairvoyant' and a 'Romani', even though she never left London. However, she died when he was fifteen and he felt his only option was to join a gang in order to keep food in his belly. But, when he was seventeen he was betrayed and they went after him. He was on the run all through London until they found him by the river, and without thinking, he jumped. The fear and adrenaline from nearly dying awakened his powers and he suddenly transformed into a fish. Shocked by this, he swam all night until fear of never being human again drove him to shore and he became human again. He tried to change again, but he could only do it when he was terrified. That was when the Tracker and Transporter found him and took him to Olympia Academy to train. For a while, he was a complete outcast, hardly able to control when he turned into random animals. He'd shift in and out of forms at random until finally the Wardogs saw him in his preferred form, a huge black dog. They knew he was a fighter, he couldn't stop that slight bully from coming out every once in while, and accepted him into the group. When he joined, he gained control and order in his life. He now usually shifts into his huge black dog form, especially around the Wardogs and they call him in that form Phobos. After a few years out in the world he decided to come back to teach other Shapeshifters and maybe because he missed the Wardogs a little bit. His mother died when he was fifteen and he never knew his father. The closest thing he had to family after that was a "cousin" who always called him Kezzy [even though he loathed the nickname]. Relationship wise, he's had a few "romantic" entanglements when he was a student, but so far none while he's a professor. [ face claim: Tom Hardy ] ✦✦✦ Mitchell Lewis -- ✦ Twenty-One ; Wardogs ; Student ; Water Manipulation ; Bisexual One could best describe Mitch as long, lean, and fiery, at least physically. He stands at about 6'2" and is quite thin and lean, lacking the muscle definition, but rather he resembles a flexible reed swaying in the wind. His most defining feature is his fiery, natural red hair. It falls in layers, most of the time shoved back from his face and messily thrown under a backwards hat. It has grown long, the longest layer brushing the back of his neck and the shortest often sticking out the sides of the hat. The color is dark red threaded with darker auburn and laces of gingery gold, completely natural and often comes to light under the warm sun. Many compare it to fire, but it's an age old cliche. It's deeper than the orange of flames, very much an almost true red color. It's texture is mostly wavy and silky, but unkempt and hanging around his boyish face. He has a warm, inviting face. He has freckles centralized mostly around his nose and dusting his cheeks, which match the darker strands of his hair. His freckles truly show along his arms and chest and back. Varying in red color, they are a map of dotted stars across his shoulders and down his back and across his entire chest, like he was sprayed with reddish gingery paint. He has a boyish and sweet face that often gets him out of trouble. He soft, warm chocolate brown eyes framed by long red lashes and his brows are light gingery fading to dark auburn a little at the tail end. He is tall and athletic, his toned and lean body covered in pale, easily-burned skin. He is quite thin, but years of sports and activity has made him a little muscular, even if he has to be shirtless for you to even tell. / Mitch has two sides. The first is the one everyone sees and is the most popular. He's playful, mischievous, untamed, and goes with the flow. He feeds off the group energy from the Wardogs and enjoys being bold, flirty, and genuinely pretty fun to be around. He, with the other boys, oh, they're truly a riot to be had. They cause quite a stir and Mitch loves it. The confident, bold him gets a rush from being in the Wardogs. The other side is the Mitch that is more sensitive, and he is surprisingly a very emotional person. He is faithful and loyal to who he considers family and he is terrified of losing them somehow. But that other side of Mitch is also melancholy, fearful, a little angry and hurt still, and quiet. That side tends to replace that facade that takes over his skin whenever he's faced with water or when he has to manipulate large bodies of water. It's a glimpse, a crack in the confident armor he's built over the years to protect himself. Mitch was born to a completely normal family, with normal friends, in a normal towns. Actually, it's kind of odd how his powers developed and some even suspect Mitch wasn't originally 'magical'. Anyway he was a superstar hockey player in high school, and he had always loved skating, ever since he was a little, he and his best friends would go out to the lake when it froze to play on the actual ice in the real frigid air. However, they tempted fate by going out on at the end of March after a particularly long cold week. They had only been out for maybe an hour before their weight was too much and it cracked, opening up and swallowing Mitchell and two of his friends. He doesn't remember much else of what happened, just how cold it was and how heavy he felt. And somehow, something awakened inside of Mitch. He didn't anyone, until much later, at Olympia Academy, but he'd heard something and felt something deep inside, pushing him to throw all his energy into the water. And he managed to throw enough water and force upward to break the ice above them and surge one of his friends and obviously himself onto the ice again, but his other friend had already sank too far. He tried to pull the water again, but he was too weak, and they later found his friend's frozen body at the bottom of the lake. Ever since he has been absolutely terrified of his own ability and limits it's use as much as possible, as well as his exposure to water. Deep down, he also blames himself for being unable to save his one friend, while saving the other. He was swept off to Olympia Academy not long after 'the incident', so his personal life BEFORE is in shambles, but he considers the Wardogs his family and he's closer to them than anyone. ✦✦✦ Myra Nicholas -- ✦ Twenty-Three ; Hunters of Artemis ; Student -- Hunter ; Telekinesis ; Homosexual Myra is defined by her long, willowy stature with deceiving strength and proud, gaunt face. She reaches just under 5'10" when not slouching on various objects and is proud of her long and streamlined body. With minimal curves she looks less like a conventional woman, which she has never wished to be known for. She is thin and looks rather fragile with pale skin wrapping over her entire body. She has a tumble of usually messy and wavy dark hair woven into a french braid to keep it out of her face. It verges on black it is that dark, having hints of being more neutrally toned if not warm toned dark black-brown. While naturally it is straight and frizzy, when unbound from the braid her hair shows deep waves. The longest layer falls to just beyond her shoulder blades. She has high cheekbones, a sharp angular jawbone, and deep eyes that peer out from strong, dark brows. A gently sloping nose that ends in a soft point is delicately placed on her face, above her thin and down turned pale lips. Her eyes are dark amber, framed by thick brows and long, spidery dark lashes. Her hands are, in her opinion, her best feature. They are long and elegant, and they are her best weapon. From her hands, she has control. Without them, she can hardly manipulate anything except maybe a book without getting a headache. Her magic flows through her hands and she's learned to love the tingling it brings when she throws someone across a room or slams a door closed. She'll protect her hands at all cost, so she wears black leather gloves. // Myra is hardly the delicate Southern Belle many might believe her to be. She has a drawling accent, but that's where the fantasy ends. She is usually irritable, sassy, and hates interaction with most people. She's a bit awkward around anyone she doesn't know, so she reverts into defense mode. Especially around boys, oh lord do they annoy her. She gets annoyed so easily, and Myra is incredibly dramatic. The littlest thing could bother her, and she'll make a bit of a production about it. But she's loyal to the Hunters and suspicious of everyone else, which is an improvement from hating everyone? She is incredibly passionate, honest, and has a heart. Somewhere. She's just a bit rough around the edges. Myra was raised in a small, backwater and rural community in the deep South. Perhaps the very definition of a Gothic and witch burning town with Puritans ready to burn Myra and her family at the slightest whiff of anything suspicious. Figuratively burn them, maybe. Her mother and aunts called themselves "witches", but they never had any real powers. Just mixed up natural herbs and surprisingly good remedies for the odd headache. Although, everyone did think that Aunt Wendy had a touch of psychic ability, but that was heavily debated because of her massive debts due to losses in 'important' horse races. Hardly the point, because Myra had real power. When she turned seven she levitated the cookie jar over to her after her mother refused to give her a cookie out of it. Laurie Nicholas nearly dropped dead when she saw it. She tried to make potions and concoctions to suppress her daughter's power, and it worked for a while. Until she hit puberty and it skyrocketed. Myra was even shunned from her own family, who feared they might be outcast even worse by the town. Only her mother stuck by her and desperately tried to help Myra control the spiraling powers, and every year she wrote to the mysterious Olympia Academy for 'gifted' students, pleading for them to let her in early. But they wouldn't budge until Myra's eighteenth birthday and she was brought by the Transporter and she never looked back, much to her mother's heartbreak. The relationship with her family is ruined, except her mother, Laurie, who she loves, but just has grown distant from. Other than that, Myra mostly joined the Hunters for the lack of relationships [ face claim: none currently ]
