Sooooo, bringing this back yet again. Gonna do it whether or not anyone replies, really; this page is just to gather my thoughts and to allow anyone who's interested to input their ideas.
You may have seen me post this concept before, as I have done so.... three, maybe four times. But, in case you haven't seen it, or need a refresher, here is the concept:
The four ancient Clans- ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, and RiverClan- weathered many challenges throughout their long existence. More than once they were forced from one territory to another. More than once they were nearly destroyed by outside enemies, each other, or themselves. More than once they overcame these challenges and returned to their former glory as strong as ever. But as always, eventually there came a challenge they could not overcome, even together, and the four perished.
Many moons have passed since then. The last descendants of the ancient Clans have scattered across the land. Some do not remember their heritage, while others repeat the stories of their ancestors, and some still follow the warrior code as much as they can alone, with no Clan to support them.
It is the fourth generation since the Clans fell, and sixteen cats are guided by their dreams to a hilltop that once formed the center of the Clans' final territories. Storm, Sorrel, Finch, Cloud, Wendy, Night, Blaze, Pine, Tiger, Silver, Leaf, Seth, Bone, Duchess, Jester, and Jay- each descended from one of the ancient Clans, and each tasked with given them a form of rebirth. What once was never truly shall be again, but that does not mean the time of the Clans should end. Not entirely.
And so the sixteen cats decided to seek out other descendants, and return to the hilltop in four seasons' time. After 12 moons, they met again, this time followed by other cats who showed signs of being descended from the four great Clans. Now, they divided themselves once more, and each chose a territory that suited their needs and reflected the homes of their ancestors. Four of the sixteen became leaders, four deputies, four medicine cats, and four Seekers, and the Clans named themselves for the Clan from which they came. And for the first generation, in addition to warriors, cats would be chosen as Seekers- cats whose job was to travel across the land, finding more descendants to swell the Clans' ranks.
It has now been three years since the Clans were reformed. The last of the Seekers have returned, and the practice is retired. The Clans are strong. However, all is not as peaceful as it seems. Since their reformation, the Clans only allowed cats to join if there was significant evidence that they were descended from the corresponding ancient Clan. True rogues were never allowed to join, even if they showed skill and promised loyalty, and even descendants could only join the Clan that reflected their heritage.
There is tension between the Clans, disputes over territory, the warrior code, and other issues, and the Clans teeter on the edge of full-scale war. The Gatherings have stopped due to the hostilities, and obvious signs of StarClan's displeasure shows in the ever-present clouds that cover the moon each and every night. Beyond the Clans' borders, a group of cats gathers: those cats rejected by the Clans due to their lack of obvious Clan blood, or disallowed from joining the Clan they chose due to having different blood. They are determined to be part of a Clan, even if they must form it themselves, and they will prove their warrior blood even if they have to spill it across the ground. It has been three years, and cats are already left to wonder if the new Clans will survive much longer than that.
So to summarize on an out of character level: this roleplay takes place four generations after the original four Clans have ended, which is many, many years after even the last of the books. The Clans had been forced to move a few more times until a disaster tore them apart in a way they could not repair, and the Clans finally died. Four generations later, the remnants of StarClan guides several descendants of the Clans back to the last territory and tells them to reform the Clans by locating other descendants, which they do, forming four new Clans in the image of the old ones- all very similar, but not exactly the same.
As is to be predicted, the new Clans take StarClan's command of finding descendants to reform the Clans a bit too seriously, and reject any cat who is not an obvious descendant of their model Clan. As you would expect, this upsets many rogues and less-obvious possible descendants who would like to be a part of a Clan, and so these cats decide to take it upon themselves to create a more accepting fifth Clan- an idea that is not welcomed by the other four, and who do all they can to ignore the presence of the fifth forming Clan and push them away.
Meanwhile, there is a lot of strife within the four Clans, both within themselves and with each other. Many of the original leaders are getting on in their moons, and so this causes strife as cats try to gain power within their Clan to take the leader's place when they inevitably die, as well as cats who wonder if the Clans can even survive without their original leaders. Between the Clans, there is a lot of conflict over things like territory and certain aspects of the warrior code- after all, the code was only mostly copied accurately, and many aspects were misinterpreted, changed, or forgotten with the reformation of the Clans. The cats also chose their new territories somewhat on a whim, placing their borders and camps based on what they knew of the old Clans and what seemed ideal at the time, without having a good idea of what a Clan actually needed to support itself. Past this, the Clans seem to be having a lot of general bad luck- bad storms, sickness, few and weak kits, and that sort of thing.
Due to tensions within and outside the Clans, the Clans have stopped going to Gatherings due to the fact that every one of the last six Gatherings had resulted in a large-scale fight, and many of the previous ones had as well. Therefore, relations between the Clans are currently nothing but hostile, and obviously, this angers StarClan, who has stopped guiding and communicating with the Clans entirely, which leads to even more problems. To summarize, everything sucks and it remains to be seen whether the new descendant Clans can even survive past generation 1.
As for planning... well, that's mostly gonna be up to me, but if you get here before I've decided on something, I do welcome input. I have a general idea of territories, camps, and some plots. The four core Clans will be claim-a-cat, but the Outcasts will be free for you to join with OCs.

TERRITORY OVERVIEW
The four Clans and the Outcasts make their home in a temperate area between a lake and mountains. The area consists roughly equally of forests and meadows, with a marshy, swampy lowland where the river meets the lake; this is where MireClan lives. There is also a very small, abandoned twolegplace where DarkenClan makes its territory. GroveClan lives in the forested mountain foothills, while ZephyrClan makes its home on the plains below. The Outcasts are left with the dangerous, cold and stony mountain peaks that overlook the other Clans' territories. A river flows out of the mountains and through GroveClan's territory, forking to form DarkenClan's borders with the other Clans, before both paths meet with a large lake in the south.
MAJOR PLOT
The four Descendant Clans will not allow those who cannot trace their blood back to the original Clans to join. Therefore, many cats- both true rogues, and cats who may be Descendants but cannot trace their bloodline directly- are rejected from the Clans. Many of these Outcasts, determined to prove that they can be warriors, have formed their own group in the mountains and encroach ever more upon the Clans, with the hopes that the Clans will realize their mistake and allow them to join their ranks. Though the Clans try their best to chase out or otherwise ignore the Outsiders, they become ever more difficult to ignore, and at eventually they will reach the breaking point of the Clans' patience, likely resulting in violence.
Within the Clans, there is strife as well. Creating Clans was a huge undertaking, and because the territories were not laid out strategically, the Clans now find themselves wanting in prey and territory, which leads to fighting with each other. As their original leaders and deputies age, as well, each Clan has its own internal struggle for power as different cats try to gain reputation enough to take their leaders' places. Some do so honorably, while others may use more underhanded methods to gain what they want. StarClan sees all, and, angry with all the fighting, has ceased communication with the Clans, which has caused the fighting only to escalate further as each Clan blames the others, as well as the Outcasts, for StarClan's silence.
THE WARRIOR CODE
When the Descendant Clans were formed, the remnants of Ancient StarClan were weak and fading, unable to convey any but the most general details of what life had once been like for the ancient Clans. Therefore, the new Clans were left to piece together a new warrior code from what little StarClan had given them, as well as the broken and half-forgotten stories passed down from their parents' parents' parents. As such, the modern warrior code is quite a bit different from the original, missing some rules the original code had and adding some it did not, as well as rewording and misinterpreting others. This will be a plot point, as the Clans add to and refine their code. The Code currently consists of nine rules that the new Clans adhere to strictly, with sometimes harsh punishment if they are not obeyed.
Your loyalty is to your Clan above all others, even yourself, and you may not take a mate or have friends outside of the Clan.
A leader's duty is to their Clan first, and so a leader may not have kits while acting as leader.
Medicine cats must remain impartial in the care of their Clan, and so are not allowed to take a mate or have kits.
Prey is killed only to be eaten; needless killing is a waste of resources.
Queens, kits, elders, and the medicine cat must be fed before warriors and apprentices.
Apprentices are responsible for care of the elders. An apprentice may not eat unless the elders have been taken care of, unless the apprentice has special permission.
No cat may trespass on another Clan's territory without permission for any reason. Trespassing cats are to be chased off without question.
The Clan leader's word is law to that Clan.
StarClan is to be obeyed above all else.
GATHERING & SACRED PLACE - FORERUNNER HILL
Forerunner Hill is the place where the original sixteen Descendants met on a full moon to create the new Clans, and it is here that the Clans have met every subsequent full moon for many seasons, until recently. The Hill sits in roughly the center of the territories, just west of the river that flows into MireClan's swamps and divides it from DarkenClan, and overlooking ZephyrClan's plains to the north. The Hill is for the most part barren, with rough grasses and rocky slopes leading up to the peak, which has a grass slope with a slight rocky precipice which overlooks the lower slopes of the Hill below. It is on this peak that the leaders sit to address the Clans, which take their seats among the rocks below.
This Hill is also the place where medicine cats go on the half moons to speak with StarClan- or normally would, if StarClan were still speaking. It was the place where the Sixteen first met StarClan face-to-face, and cats must lie in the starlight at the top of the hill and go to sleep to receive dreams from StarClan.

GROVECLAN
In the forested mountain foothills is where GroveClan makes its territory, hunting forest prey in the undergrowth as their ancestors did before them. They make their camp in a hollow in the land, the same place where ancient ThunderClan did as well. GroveClan focuses on strength and loyalty to the Clan and the warrior code, though they value the achievements of the individual higher than the achievements of the Clan as a whole. Each member of GroveClan is meant to be loyal, brave, and a strong fighter. They are moral and often stubborn cats, and often are so determined that they are right that they try to force their views onto the other Clans, something the others do not take kindly to.
TERRITORY & CAMP
In the forested mountain foothills is where GroveClan makes its territory, hunting forest prey in the undergrowth as their ancestors did before them. Plenty of streams run through the hills, many of which meet up with the river that flows out of the mountains and through the Clans' territories, and which forms the border between GroveClan and DarkenClan's territories. Important landmarks that can be found in GroveClan's territory are Overlook Rock, Hawknest Crag, the waterfall, and the bone ravine. Overlook Rock sits high in the hills, an open area that provides a good view of the territory below. Hawknest Crag is at the edge of the foothills, near the edge of the forest, where a pair of hawks make their nest every year and hunt on the plains. The waterfall is a place where the river flows down a steep, rocky hill into a deep pool before flowing out onto the plains. The bone ravine is a deep, rocky crag in the land where crowfood and the bones of fresh-kill are deposited; there tend to be vultures and buzzards here.
They make their camp in a deep, protected hollow in the land, the same place where as ancient ThunderClan. At the bottom of the hollow is a small pile of rocks, the largest of which is called Shout Rock, and is where the leader makes announcements from. The fresh-kill pile sits in a small burrow beneath Shout Rock to protect it from the sun and from predators. There is also a patch of marigolds growing next to the stones. The leader's den is near the bottom of the hollow, in a bramble bush growing against a rock slightly up the side of the hollow. The nursery is in another thorn bush, part of the way up the hollow on the opposite side from the leader's den. A elders' den is on the other side of the hollow in a small cave formed by a pair of boulders protruding from the side of the hill. The warriors' and apprentices' dens are at the top of the hollow; the latter in the roots of a lush holly bush, the former in a large, sprawling burrow beneath the twisting roots of an old oak tree. The medicine den sits just outside the hollow, in a large patch of brambles that grow around the base of a large maple tree.
CLAN-SPECIFIC PLOT
GroveClan has been having frequent battles with ZephyrClan over the exact location of their borders. GroveClan's winters are harsh, as their snows are often deep from being so close to the mountains, and over time they have begun pushing more and more into ZephyrClan's territory. There have been several bloody battles between the Clans, resulting in several deaths, and tensions are so high that it is now rare that two patrols between the Clans meet without it ending in bloodshed.

DARKENCLAN
DarkenClan lives at the edge of the forest, in the ruins of an abandoned twolegplace that spills onto the plains. They stalk the shadows of this derelict place, hunting the rats and pigeons who make their nests in the crumbling walls and rotting rafters. DarkenClan cats are extremely sneaky, battle-oriented, and hostile towards the other Clans. Most of a DarkenClan cat's reputation and respect, inside and outside the Clan, stems from their prowess in battle, and as such, many DarkenClan cats will seek out unnecessary fights to prove their mettle. They often spar with each other to solve disputes as well, but unlike with outsiders, they will never intentionally hurt each other- not badly, at least.
TERRITORY & CAMP
DarkenClan lives at the edge of the forest, in the ruins of an abandoned twolegplace that spills onto the plains. The river that forms the border between RumbleClan and DarkenClan splits, and so DarkenClan's border is river to the east and west, lake to the southeast, and the edge of RippleClan's swamp to the southwest. While DarkenClan's territory does include some forest and meadow, they mostly stay in the twoleg ruins where they are most comfortable, hunting the rats and pigeons who make their nests in the crumbling walls and rotting rafters. Some landmarks in DarkenClan territory include the Metaltree, the stonegarden, and the herb yard. The Metaltree is a large metal twoleg structure where birds tend to like to nest (a water tower). The stonegarden is a strange, open area with large, flat stones and strangely-shaped ones sticking out of the ground (a graveyard). The herb yard is behind one of the crumbling twoleg nests, and contains a wide variety of now-wild medicinal herbs that the Clan can use.
They make their camp in an underground basement of one of the old buildings. Dens TBA.
CLAN-SPECIFIC PLOT
Because it's borders are rivers, DarkenClan tends not to have much strife with the other Clans. Instead, DarkenClan's danger stems from within its own territory. A pack of dogs has roamed the area since before DarkenClan was formed, presumably descended from strays that once lived in the twolegplace. Up until now, they've presented little issue, the dogs usually content to leave the cats alone, and vice-versa. However, the pack has grown much larger over the past couple of seasons, and lately the dogs have been becoming more bold, even coming into the abandoned town and trying to steal cats' fresh-kill, or attacking and killing cats.

MIRECLAN
MireClan makes its home in the swampy delta in the southeast, where the river spreads out and meets with the lake in open marshes and swampy forests. There, they hunt wading birds and frogs, and fish keep their pelts sleek and water-resistant. At night, they retreat to their camp built into cypress trees high above the water. MireClan cats are very proud, to the point of being arrogant, and are very loyal to their Clan. Though they are not overly aggressive, they will often be the first to unsheath their claws at a slight, in defense of their Clanmates or their territory, and are often killed in battle due to a refusal to flee when their honor or territory is at stake, even when the odds are against them.
TERRITORY & CAMP
MireClan makes its home in the swampy delta in the southeast, where the river spreads out and meets with the lake in open marshes and swampy forests. There, they hunt wading birds and frogs, and fish keep their pelts sleek and water-resistant. They border ZephyrClan to the east and DarkenClan to the northwest. Their territory includes all of the swamps and marsh, and much of the lake. The marsh is open, with grasses growing in shallow water, while the swamp is mostly soggy, muddy lowlands and cypress trees growing in the water.
MireClan makes its camp on floating platforms of reeds and lily pads, anchored to cypress trees, but not too tightly, so that when water levels rise the camp will rise as well. This also helps keep away enemies like snakes and alligators. All the dens are built by paw, by dragging sticks and reeds, lily pads and grasses to the camp to create the platforms and the dens that reside on them. A couple dens are nestled in the crooks of tree branches above the rest of camp, but these are rather few, as MireClan cats prefer not to climb unless necessary. Dens TBA.

Ah yeah, I remember you! That time ended up never getting made, unfortunately, but I am utilizing a lot of stuff from it, mostly the territories and most of the allegiances. I'm for the most part done with planning, and GroveClan is actually already up, but you're welcome to join
This is Forerunner Hill, the main/Gathering page. Links to the Clans will be put on there as their pages are made.
