oh... wellppp....)
Sonya filed that all away, then put her hands on her hips, "Well, I suppose the climbing would be a good place to start." She gestured towards the warehouse wall, then up towards where a narrow window sat, just below the roof, "Could you make it up there and back down again?"

It's really nicely put together whoever did it then)
Everett looked up towards the window before looking down at her,"yeah," he walked over to the wall, placing his hands on the surface before he started climbing up it like it was no big deal. It wasn't anything fast because he wasn't really all that sure how fast he could go up a wall, he'd never tried and never had a chance to actually find out. But he wasn't about to try now, because the last thing he needed was to fail miserably and ruin his chances of joining. He made it to the window and rotated his body so that his head was now towards the floor. Going down as a whole lot harder than going up because gravity just wanted to pull his massive weight right back down to earth as fast as possible. Carefully he made his way back down to the floor, standing back up and looking towards Sonya. Hopefully that was what she wanted.

Frank who was driving in his truck picked up his partner and companion Caspian. Caspian hops into the truck and closed the door. He could never understand why Frank liked to drive this monster. "I assume you know where to go"? He asked leaning back and putting his feet on the dash. Frank rolled his eyes and drives down the road. "Hi Frank, how was your day. Why it was nice Caspian thanks I killed a guy but that's normal." Caspian glanced over and smirked at him. "Frankie, do you desire my attention?"
"So uh hope my hand to hand combat skills are not a deal breaker." Justin said getting to his feet. He had a feeling this would be okay though. His arrows seemed to win them over.

"I don't mind." As the other new guy beat her to showing, that gave her a moment to think what to so. And then it came to her. "It's Sonya right? What's your favorite food? Or any food that you could have right now?" She asked. "And that goes for any of you." She stated, looking at everyone in the room.

Sonya watched Everett, smiling as he scaled the wall with ease, "Impressive!" That could certainly be useful. The speed and strength were just bonuses and she had no idea how to even begin testing his toxicity without sending one of her friends to the hospital. Which only left the webbing. She crossed her arms, "So how does the webbing work? Is it a Spiderguy sort of thing where you can shoot it?" As Kate mentioned favorite food, Sonya turned towards her, thinking for a second before answering, "There's a fancy chocolatier over on Willow and Third. They make these cherry cordial that are to die for. Why?

A faint blush dusted the man's cheeks and he offered a shy smile when it seemed Sonya was truly impressed. "Mm, kinda yeah. I can control the speed and stuff. But uh, there's no way I can swing around or anything. Too heavy even for my web strands," he answered.

Kate smiled. "Coming right up." With that she disappeared, with a rush of wind, enough that any loose papers fluttered up and then to the ground. Less than ten seconds she returned with a smile and a package of the name sweets. "This is why." She held out the sweets to Sonya, before she tilted her head in thought, and then checked her wallet. "Well, I need to practice that.. I gave them one too five dollar bills... Oh well." She shrugged. "I'm really not sure at this point how fast I'm going to max out at. Frankly I'm not sure of my full abilities. I do know that with my speed I do heal much quicker than the average person." She added.

[ ohhhhhh no Sprout nooooo ] [ Noah would flip his sh*t if he found out people thought of him as Barista boy and Hipster man, but I for one think it's hilarious af ] Beau felt just a little bit bad. Justin just seemed like a normal guy who thought archery was cool and liked explosions, which was perfectly fine for being a hero, but didn't put him in the best of positions to win against Beau. As...uncouth as his training was, it made him more than capable to handle this kid. At the kick, Beau was faster, and deflected the kick with the meat of his calf, then aimed a quick right-hook to Justin's jaw. Xavier looked more than relieved at the sight of Lawrence's excitement bubbling back, but it was short lived as not a moment later he was being dragged into yet another potentially-illegal thing. Urgh, every time he spilled the beans to Lawrence he felt a pang of guilt, but Lawrence could do more with it than the police ever even bothered to try to, so he at least sort of felt like he was helping the greater good. Sort of. Trying not to get sucked in to that pleading look, Xavier puffed out his cheeks and sighed in deference. "Alright fineee, I'll help you. Not sure how much I can help right now though." "Sure thing," Noah nodded to the man, typing in his order and taking the ten dollar bill for change. He pried the coins out of the register and gripped them tightly between his fingers like some sort of freak, but he couldn't exactly cup his palm to give it out, having the error one too many times and spilled change all over the floor. Holding out the change and the receipt, he looked up. "Can I get a name for that?" Noah asked, already moving to make the drink. Having been entirely oblivious to Gum Boy's fiddling, he was surprised when a part of one of the drink machines just fell off. He sucked in a breath sharply, trying not to swear. "I only have one boyfriend, thank you very much," he muttered, shoving the piece back onto the machine none too gracefully. Shafer watched the other man closely, eyes crinkled with amusement and as condescending as someone like Shafer could manage to be. It was so funny watching not-normal people try to adjust to normal things. He was so taken with it that he completely gapped out of what he'd been focusing his efforts on moments prior. Metal clashed together loudly as the part he'd had his hand around just kind of. Collapsed in on itself. He squeaked sharply and used his free hand to clamp over his mouth as he handed the part to Hipster, who responded quite violently. "Well, aren't you boring," Shafer muttered as he leaned back on the counter, though was still very much in the way. "Are you your boyfriend's only?"

Sonya hmmed, then tilted her head, "So how much could it carry? A hundred pounds?" Reaching her hand out, she was about to set up a target for him to shoot at when Kate suddenly zipped away in a blur of motion, reappearing just a few seconds later to deposit a box of cherries cordial in her lap. Sonya's eyes widened, "Ohoohohohhoh!" Popping open the box, she immediately bit into one and let out a long sigh. God she loved these things. Then, remembering her manners, she held the open box out to Everett and Kate, mumbling around a mouthful of chocolate, "So, Kate, you've got super speed?" There was that question in the back of her mind, wondering if this girl had any ties to Bunny. After all, there weren't any other people that fast in the city. Perhaps they'd be keeping a close eye on Kate. But if she wasn't and was truly there to help them fight crime, she'd be a good asset to have on the team.

[ hey! that's a neat little magazine page!! I wonder what's up with it : ) ]
Noah was about to answer smoothly to the question, but lapsed into a small frown. "I'd like to hope so..." he muttered, the idea of Hollis two timing him tugged painfully in his stomach. Rationally, he knew that was far from likely, but Hollis was popular even if he was a bit of a huge @sshole. Some people might like that! Noah liked that. Ugh, he was giving himself a headache thinking about it. Noah shooed Gum Boy away from the machine so he could try and fit the piece back on and not potentially injure someone in the process. He pressed it questionably into place and felt a strange hum of warmness through his arm and a sudden jolt. Oh. That was definitely him being electrocuted. His arm wasn't conductive to it and he couldn't feel it anyway, but god if it wasn't a strange and inhuman feeling. His mouth went a little dry. "Um, don't touch the machine-" he warned, shuffling to one of the other ones to make Finn's drink, taking far longer than was entirely necessary because of a stupid machine broken stupidly. Eventually he managed to call Finn's name and slide it across the counter.
Beau gave Justin an encouraging pat on the back, hoping the guy wasn't too battered to fight evil at a moment's notice. He hadn't been too hard him, just challenging enough to appraise his skills, but they certainly weren't as good as he cleverness with an arrow. "Don't worry about it, there's always time for practice," he pointed out with a thumbs up that tried its best to look encouraging. Beau shot a look towards the other newcomers, appraising them silently as he often did with most things, trying to pick apart what he could without having to talk to them too much. Two more girls walked in as well and he beckoned to them while Sonya and Cassie were distracted.
Xavier let out a feeble and choked 'your welcome' as Lawrence gratefully crushed his internal organs, sucking in a breath once he was released. He smoothed down his shirt a bit and followed Lawrence's gaze into the backseat of the car. The mugger looked mournful, almost prayerlike as he bowed his head against his knees. It was a little sad and a little strange at the same time, and Xavier's eyebrow perked up in thought. "Yeah, he didn't really answer though, guy knows his rights. I think he's just as confused as me, though. Just as shocked even," he shrugged in response, scratching the back of his head absently. "They might get a bit more of him in interrogation, guess we wont know until then." Something hung uneasy in the back of his mind, but he tried not to let it show on his face.

"Oh, to be honest I don't know. I know they have no issue in holding me up or an average human or two. I don't think I've ever tried to find out how much they could hold," he admitted. Blinking in surprise he looked around curiously, furrowing his brow when it appeared Kate was gone, and then she was back again. With food. "No thank you," he mused, shaking his head before looking at Kate,"that was pretty cool."

{Quick question has anyone gotten some really random PM's from a user that they don't know?}
"No, I'm good, I got a hamburger. More like two. Oh ah thanks." Kate motioned to her hand which had a bag and headed to a chair to eat at a normal pace. She nodded sheepishly. "Yea, I guess you could call my ability that. I don't even know why I was given it. Nor have I even began to explore how far I can go with it. I had a friend that I worked with..." She looked down and around and then at Sonya wondering how to explain it quickly. "I had... an accident then once my.. ability appeared my friend did some preliminary testing. I clocked in around 400 miles a hour and that was about two weeks ago, back in my hometown, before I moved here. He may or may not end up poking his head. He doesn't have powers like I do. He's more of a tech guy, behind the scenes. You name it, he could probably build. Knowing him, he'll poke his head into my business and force me to take the suit." She sighed at the thought. If Kate was being truthful to herself, she'd probably take the suit and make them a team. "If I happen to get a paper cut that would normally take about a week to fully heal, it'd only takes maybe ten minutes to heal. Like I said, if I trained, who knows how fast I could become. " She thought for a moment. "I might have a way of testing if they can. But I'm not sure the way I'm thinking we could test them, I maybe not be able to do it, if you don't mind taking a risk."

Sonya nodded slowly, thinking carefully. Moving recently. That's something they could confirm, just to make sure that this person wasn't some sort of double agent. But Sonya wasn't all that worried. She swallowed the mouthful of chocolate and smiled, "We have a guy too, he made our suits and the like. I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping with running some tests if you'd like to see how fast you can really go." Putting one hand on her hip, she gave them both a confident smile, "But I like what I hear from both of you. Everett, why don't you go join Beau and spar for a little bit while I have a word with Kate?"

"Spar with..." He trailed off, looking towards Beau and swallowing a bit. Was he aboutto get his butt kicked? Because yeah okay, he could hold his own no problem in a fight, but Beau seemed like he could easily like rip his arms off or sometging. "Roght, okay," he made his way over, looking down at the other nervously, though his second and third pair of arms seemed much more confident than he was, cracking their knuckles and rolling back.

"I'm not sure I'd like to be a lab rat anymore, to be honest." Kate sighed. She knew she should have been expecting a private conversation to sort a few details out, sooner or later. Well sooner probably is better than later, if she had to admit it to herself and only herself. "You should meet him, sooner or later. He's an absolute genius."

Clarke and Vesper finished their crappy cardgame as the deep, thrumming pulse of music began to echo in the quiet, vast expanse of the abandoned subway. It was a little chilling, and Vesper looked bewildered for a moment as she watched Clarke get to his feet and dust his hands off on his jeans. "C'mon, I can show you something cool," he insisted with an elated grin, jerking his head in the direction of the sound. Vesper grabbed for the cards and stood up after him as he headed to The Answer. Clarke had a habit of appearing in places where people generally didn't want him to be, and now that he was showing Vesper the fabulous sights of the world it seemed to happen more often and more annoyingly. He'd poked his head into The Answer on a few occasion, appraise the place, but going there by himself wasn't very fun and Clarke did not exist properly if he wasn't having a little bit of fun. So, when he pushed through the doors to the club he wandered on over to the bar, propping his elbow on the counter and looking over at Visser from behind his dark-tinted sunglasses. "Hey there, need some ice cubes for your drink?" Vesper trailed behind Clarke quietly, brow furrowed as she took in the place. It was as if she'd stepped into the wrong dimension, music tossing her brain about in a confusing way that made her curious and simultaneously pissed off. She felt that she could have been in a place like this somewhere before, but the memories were fuzzy and the harder she pushed for them the fuzzier she got. Vesper inched her way up to the bar and peered over at Clint, a bewildered and pissed-off expression smeared on her face.

[ sorry for being so poofy guys, i got class during the day then a shared computer. hopefully i'll be a bit more active this weekend! ]
Finn couldn't help but watch the two men as they spoke, and it was probably due to the fact one of them had just knocked over a coffee machine. He held in a laughter and shifted his gaze- not wanting to attract any attention. As the two had been chatting, Finn began to fiddle with the many rings that were on his long fingers. I can't even remember where I got this one... His eyebrows scrunched together at the thought. He let out a long sigh again, until he heard his name being called from Barista boy. He quickly grabbed the warm drink off the counter and mumbled a quick "Thank you," before he headed off to one of the bar stools against the window. As he sat, he placed one hand on the drink and another on his cellphone; noticing he had received a new email. From whom? It didn't say. As he opened it up on his phone, he noticed one of his coworkers had sent him a photo, and that photo was Hero tryouts. His heart leaped into his throat for a moment. There's no way in hell that they know I have powers. He then coughed slightly, choking on his Mocha. They probably want me to do an article on it. Don't get yourself worked up.

Sonya waved a hand, "It's just precautionary and nothing too invasive, don't you worry. He designed all of our suits too, so I'm sure he and your guy can talk shop." She sat back down in one of the folding chairs and crossed her legs, "So, Kate, why are you here? Why do you want to join the Justice Patrol?"
Lawrence gave Xavier a hearty slap on the arm, "Well, let me know if he says anything interesting. I'm going to do a quick write up of the incident for the blog, then wanna meet up tomorrow at Regulars to start working out what we know?" He didn't wait for an answer, still talking as he backpedaled away, "But if you do hear something beforehand, you've got my number and you should absolutely give me a call. And-" he broke off as he backed into a dumpster, the metal clanging as his head collided with the metal lip, "Ow, darn it all...See you later Xavier." Turning to see where he was going, Lawrence made his way out of the alley and headed for home. He had an article to write.

"Emm... I doubt he could beat my guy in terms of practicality. Now aesthetics, he'd probably win by a mile." Kate sighed, by this time she had gotten all of her trash in the bag ready to be take care of. She sighed, looking down wondering what to say. "This probably going to sound cheesy and much like what the other people have said, but this is true." She sighed quietly, looking back at Sonya. "All my life, I've wanted to... just do more - be more - and help the human race move forward and evolve, and I had that chance. To be better than my last mistake. Until about four months ago. I'd gotten a job right out of college. I loved it there. Working late hours, helping human to understand the mysteries of the natural world, that is until two months into the job, I had a freak accident that left me in a coma. I woke up two months later and I had lost my job. I came to this town to reevaluate where I want to go with my life and how to get about it. I needed time and space. Now, I feel like, I have a need and a way to help with what little I have and to give back, to help. It's the least I can do with what I've been given. I mean, why waste something like this?" Kate asked, managing show Sonya that she could vibrate her hand so it was just a blur of movement and color.

Aiden and Ramona watched the group of people, a bit stunned into silence and also unsure of what to do. Everyone seemed pretty...busy. Demonstrating their powers and such. Ramona tugged on Aiden's arm as Beau beckoned them forward, shooting the taller girl a bewildered look. "El mundo no se para por nada, so c'mon." The brunette grinned after her words of encouragement, and "dragged" Aiden along behind her as she approached Beau with a bright-eyed bushy-tailed demeanor. Actually, she was way weaker than her stacked friend, but Aiden wouldn't oppose to her tugs, otherwise the shortie would probably fly across the room or something. Aiden was really dang strong. "Dude, I don't even know what that means-" Aiden hadn't been able to finish her sentence before Ramona pulled them over to Beau, and raised her eyebrows at the mentions of sparring. She wasn't sure she wanted to do that, given that her power was kind of an unfair advantage.
By the time Clarke and Vesper had entered, the music had been turned up louder, more and more people beginning to mill inside. The blonde had already finished her previous drink, now knocking back a glass of dark liquor and hissing at the taste. For a club owner, Visser preferred the tastier, "girlier" drinks that Clint was fantastic at making. The aforementioned man leaned up against the bar, surveying the increasingly busy club with a bored look. He cracked his knuckles and scratched at the weird mesh border between the metal and skin of his hand; it was a rough thing to look at, but halfway up the back of his hands to the first knuckle of his fingers, his skin was replaced instead with shiny metal, and small slots could be seen where the "brass knuckle" part would extend out. Clint gave Visser a small nod in forewarning to the newcomers approaching the bar, but Visser simply told him to serve her another drink. The metal gleamed in the bright neon lights that flashed through the club as Clint poured another drink and slid it over to her. Keeping her usual nonchalant facade, Visser swirled the drink in her glass when Clarke sat down next to her, and rose her eyebrows at him. "Ice cubes, ja? I think my friend here has me covered, unless you can work some magic." Clint had turned away for a few moments to serve an actual paying customer, but when he came back to whatever conversation was starting, he was met with a not-so-happy face. The girl didn't look too happy, and so Clint simply furrowed his eyebrows at her and raised the bottle he was holding. "Need a drink? We got soda and stuff too if you don't want hooch."

[ thought I should get up another starter ;^) ]
"No, no, no, noooo..." Cecil's voice trailed off as they held a potted plant in their hands. "Tommy you can't die! Not now..." The small succulent had dried up edges; a sign of it beginning to wilt. Cecil ran into the kitchen and put "Tommy" on the counter. Cecil began to fiddle around, first starting off with dipping their fingers in the soil (making sure it was dry) then they quickly got a cup of water and poured it in, they then quickly rummaged through the cupboard and pulled out a small bag of organic fertilizer- then quickly sprinkled it on the soil. Cecil let out a long sigh. "Please work..." Their voice ended in a whiny tone as they cupped their hands around the pot. Cecil closed their eyes and breathed in and out, when suddenly their was a slight green glow erupting from their hands. Cecil smiled after opening their eyes once again. "Alright Tommy, I'll give you some sunlight and you should be set!" They quickly placed the succulent on the ledge of a window, and sighed contently. However, that was soon followed up by an "Oh no!" after checking their watch. Cecil scrambled around the room, pulling on their sweater and putting on their glasses. This whole exchange ended with a slam of the door and a run down the hall. I can't believe I'm going to be late... I set the reminder for a reason.

Sonya listened, nodding slowly. Once Kate had finished, she gave her a small smile and reached out to gently pat her shoulder, "I'm glad you recovered and seem to be doing well. And I think that's a very admirable reason to want to get involved." So far, they had three strong recruits and it looked like two more had just walked in. She glanced over to see Cassie texting someone and snorted, shaking her head slightly. They could discuss final decisions later, but she knew that both Everett and Kate had her full support. She hadn't gotten a chance to talk to Justin about his reasons yet, but he seemed eager enough. So far, it looked like the Justice Patrol was about to get a whole lot larger.
