"It smells great, thank you Alden" erin said thankfully and gave a smile, he followed Alice to her seat and did as she though, he sat beside her and waited until she was finished praying like he always did before beginning to eat. The food was amazing and he ate it quite quickly. But he stopped mid way and looked over at Alden "so about the person who was asking about me, could you tell me about that now?"

Alice looked at both Alden and Erin expectantly, she wanted to know what was happening just as much as Erin. She wouldn't want something like last time to occur. She was still worried for him as it is. Alden stirred his stew around, as if to avoid answering the question. He didn't know what the man wanted, well, at least not the full story. "He called himself Malachi, do you know anyone by that name?" Alden asked with a furrowed brow as he was contemplating what this man wanted.

(Sorry I forgot to get a reply up)
"Malachi? Yeah he's.. he's my boss" Erin replied to Alden before looking to Alice. He figured she understood if Malachi was asking for him then it had something to do with her. He just hoped his job wasn't done yet, that would be too soon for his liking. He wanted to spend more time with her, and e thought she would feel the same. Being soerated from the one he loved that one time before left him almost completely broken, and he would have been if it weren't for Alden coming along when he did.

Alden nodded solemnly as if he was the bearer of bad news. He wasn't, as he wasn't exactly sure what this Malachai wanted, but it certainly couldn't be good if he was Erin's boss, and was asking about him. Alice was getting nervous listening to the conversation, she moved a hand underneath the table and took hold of Erin's free one in a comforting gesture, though she wasn't sure for who. Her focus switched between that of Erin and Alden, as they both seemed to have something heavy on their minds. "He asked abou-" Alden was cut off by a knock on the door, and not one that sounded like someone coming by for a friendly visit. Who would? No one really knew Erin. "I'll take Alice elsewhere, you answer the door." Alden whispered to Erin before guiding Alice to a closet upstairs, it would be the best place for them to hide for now. Meanwhile outside the door, a man's voice, a deep one, though not as intimidating as it was somewhat sinister. "Erin!" He called from outside.

Erin hearing who it was got up very quickly, he owed a lot to Malachi so he couldn't make him wait a second. "I'm coming!" He called out before rushing over to the door, although he knew he needed to listen to what Malachi wanted to say he opened the door very hesitantly. Did he know about him and Alice? He probably could find out quite easily if he had wanted to "Hey, Malachi, come in!" He said and gave a friendly smile as he gestured for him to enter the house. At this point he was hoping Alice and Alden had hid well.

It was pleasant to Malachai to see Erin welcome him warmly. Whether that was kissing up to him or not, didn't matter. He knew his place, and he knew that he owed Malachai. He smelled the food when he walked in, but could not see it, as it was in the dining room. Malachai of course knew the layout of the house, he gave it to Erin after all. "I'm glad we haven't dropped our deal yet, there will be a lot of loot for us come tomorrow." He chuckled, obviously thinking of the riches he would recieve. Of course, some of that would go to Erin, they had a deal. "I found someone who will take the girl for a price I could not turn down! You'll thank me later for taking her off you're hands, I'm sure she's been quite bothersome. But anyway, I should probably inform you with greater detail hm?" He grinned, rubbing his hands together though not in a menacing way, one that seemed to be more excited.

Hearing Malachi say what he did made Erin very nervous, scared almost, but he didn't let it be obvious to him. He didn't want to have to leave her side, nontheless have someone else buy her. The money wouldn't matter to him anymore, he only did it for Ethan. "You said tomorrow? Really?" He did his best to sound excited "you definitely need to tell me!" He said before taking a seat, but stood again quickly "oh, are you hungry or thirsty?" He asked Malachi politely

Malachai was too distracted at the prospect of riches to possibly notice Erin's slight hesitancy to sound excited. It sounded convincing enough to him. "Huh? Oh no, I'm fine, I ate before I came here. Plus I couldn't possibly eat with all of this on my mind." His brown eyes were lighting up with both greed and excitement. He was afraid no one could meet his demands for the girl, as the price he had set was very high, but when he received in offer to double it, who could say no? Malachai looked up at Erin, as he was about two inches shorter than him, as he spoke. "This man planned to double the offer Erin. Double! That's five chests of gold, plenty of livestock, two servants, and spices from the east. We'll be living like kings!" Malachai was about to forget to tell Erin who was going to buy the girl, until he remembered at the last minute. "Do you care who buys the girl or no?"

"Okay cool" Erin replied before taking his seat once again. Hearing Malachi say the payer would double it made his eyes widen. As much as he loved Alice that would keep him going fo- no. Erin no, you couldn't ever do that to Alice. As much as the offer sounded amazing he had to think of a way to make sure Alice would be okay. It would be tough to figure out a plan just yet, so he would focus on the talk he was having with Malachi for now. "As strange as it sounds, I'd rather her go to an alright person you know? She's but a girl and I'd say having been took from her family and sold off is more than bearable." He answered as seriously as he could, if she were to be sold that was the least he could hope for, she'd go to someone who would look after her at least half as well as he had.

Malachai didn't share the same concerns as Erin about the princess. He wants the money. But since Erin was part of this whole thing, it would be best if he had a say as well. Without Erin on board, the deal was off. "Alright then, if you wish. She is supposed to be sold to a man who wants to take her as a wife. He's supposed to be a noble from the east or something. Well, so he tells me. He certainly looked the part. But anyway, his name was Sir Nikolai Kovács. He said he needed a wife by the time he turned 26, he's 25 I believe now. How old is the princess again?"

Of all people it had to be someone like him. Erin didn't like that at all, that was a full nine almost ten years difference between the two! At that point he knew he needed to get her out, somewhere else. Even if he had to go into hiding with her. Unless, unless he brought her back. But what would the trouble be for him? He brought her back safe and sound right, surely that would be enough to keep him safe as well. "That sounds good, I'm sure that would be slightly bettter than I'd though honestly. She's uhhhh... 15! No- she actually just turned 16!" He face palmed mentally after saying that, what reason should he have to know that littke detail? Hopefully Malachi wouldn't notice, it could make things different between the two of them.

{Smooth Erin. You better hope Alice didn't hear that} "16 you say? Quite the age difference, but perhaps it's normal in those countries." Malachai shrugged. He wasn't concerned really at all about that, he was getting paid, Erin was getting paid, and the noble would get his wife. Everyone wins. Well, except for the princess, but she didn't really matter right now. "How did you know she just turned 16? I thought she was older than that. Does the age difference bother you or something?" It shouldn't bother Erin, he should only be concerned that she stays in good condition so no one turns down the offer knowing she was hurt. That would ruin everything.

(Shhh he's worried and can't think properly xD)
"No not at all!" What a blatant lie, Erin was never good at lying but he did his best to make it sound like he meant it. He didn't like that at all, he didn't want her to leave. He didn't want her to go live and marry someone other than him, even though they'd met only over a month before hand he'd thought their whole life through. He imagined them happily living together, though he didn't know where, with a kid. Maybe even two! He wanted that to happen so badly, but he knew the chances weren't in his favour.

{Sure. That explains him wanting to sell her...after calling her the love of his life} Malachai grinned hearing the age difference didn't bother Erin. He was doing him a favor taking the girl off his hands. She would be loved - hopefully - by a noble who would surely take care of her. There was no harm in that. Plus, princesses were put in arranged marriages all the time, this method was just a bit unorthodox. "I'm glad to hear it. I will be by just before dawn, with two horses. One for you and the girl, the other for me. We'll meet the noble at the border of the country, he'll have the treasures with him and once she is handed over, we all live in comfort. I think that deal is obviously not one to turn down."

(Touché.)
Erin nodded "okay that sounds perfect" he replied with a girn, he wasn't going to be around by then. Even without a plan he would be sure she at least was long gone. Maybe Alden could take her until he dealt with Malachi. He knew it would be a lot of trouble for everyone but he didn't want to have her sold and then never see her again. It would surely kill him mentally

"Excellent, then we're all agreed?" He didn't wait for an answer before heading back towards the door. He put a hand on the knob of it, but paused before opening it. "Oh and Erin, if you need another job, you know where to find me." He gave a wife grin before leaving, prepared to come back for the morning
--
Alice and Alden had let the closet after about a minute or two of waiting for anything else. Fortunately, he didn't come back, and they were safe for now. Alice came out after Alden, neither of them had heard the conversation, except small bits of conversation such as 'offer', 'age difference' and a few others. Though it was nearly impossible to tell what they what they were talking about. Alice and Alden both approached Erin, and Alice wrapped her arms around his neck, getting up on her toes to rest her chin on his shoulder, "What was that about?" She asked, and it was clear Alden wanted to know as well.

"I do." Erin replied simply as Malachi left. As the two came out he quickly gave them his attention, he wasn't sure how to explain the talk he'd just had with his boss but he couldn't just say it was nothing. "Well someone's offered to but you, Alice." He stated quietly, clearly nervous. "I couldn't really say no to him, it was my job and the offer was double what we'd asked for." Realizing he sounded like he intended on actually selling her he wrapped his arms tightly around her "but I'm going to think of a plan, he wants to come tomorrow again so we can go meet the man buying you. He wants you to be his wife, apparently he's a nobleman 26 years old or something like that" he explained to her and Alden. He wasn't sure what he planned to do but he knew it needed to happen quick. "Alden we need to get her out of here" he said hesitantly he didn't know hoe he'd take hearinf Erin say 'we' once again.

Alice was about to let go of Erin when he first started talking, it sounded like he wanted to sell her. The thought horrified her, and she was afraid that everything Astral said about his son had been right, but when he continued to speak she stayed close to him. She shouldn't have been so quick to jump to conclusions as the what he thought. It still didn't get any better however hearing the man's age, that was ten years older than she was, and Alice started to think she couldn't be in a worse position. However, everything seemed to be getting worse no matter what. "You had me worried there Erin." She admitted. Alden however was looking at Erin through narrowed, suspicious eyes. "I need to talk to you Erin, before we do anything." Alden's voice held no lightheartedness like it usually did as early sooke.

"Don't worry Alice, I'm going to make sure you're okay." He said reassuringly and gave a smile before kissing her cheek lightly "but Alden needs to talk to me, I feel it'd be better alone." He then stated as he let go of her, he waited until she had left before looking over at Alden "what is it?" He asked and raised an eyebrow, he had no clue what Alden was about to say, and that's what scared him the most.

Alden said nothing until Alice left the immediate vicinity and went to her own room, closing the door as she did so. He figured she would listen to a command like that, she was a princess and would certainly listen to adults. Alden walked with Erin to the dining room where he took a seat. He said nothing for a while, just staring at Erin almost disappointed in him. "What did they offer you?" He asked quietly, though the seriousness in his tone was still thread and can not be missed.

"Five chests of gold, some livestock, two servants and spices from the east" he recited them as if they were on a test. He knew he didn't plan on letting that trade happen though, he also hoped that Alden didn't think even for a moment that he would go through with that plan. He raised an eyebrow at Alden curiously "why do you ask?" He figured the question was reasonable, Alden didn't really need to know but it didn't really matter to Erin whether he knew or not

Alden's eyes widened in surprise. That was a lot of money in different types of objects. "That's a very tempting offer. You can't tell me you weren't tempted to sell her at all." Alden's face went back to the still expression he had when he first began talking. But his statement wasn't one that was supposed to make Erin mad, it was a test of sorts. Alden wanted to make sure Erin knew what he wanted before deciding to help him or not. Or if Alden should just take her himself to wherever she would be safe.

"How could you even think that?" Erin asked, not really angry, but more surprised. After all he did almost manage to kill himself saving the love of his life. After that there was no doubt in his mind he'd do anything to keep her safe with him. "As much as that is I'd get a small share regardless. I'm doing grunt work it never pays well, and besides I love her. Nothing could ever be enough payment for me to leave her with someone else" he added to Alden before huffing lightly

Alden could only pray Erin was telling the truth. He's seen a lot of good, young men turn bad because of greed. The love of money kills. Alden sighed, though his tone did not change. "Okay, so if I help you, where do you even plan on taking her? And what happens when this Malachai character shows up to find you not here nor Alice, is he the search party type?" Alden figured Erin would just take her elsewhere within his kingdom, and while a kingdom as whole is quite a large area to comb over for two people, you never knew what connections the people you interacted with had.

Erin took a minute to think, he wasn't all too sure where hw wanted to take Alice but there wasn't too many choices. Once he finally came up with an answer he sighed and took a a deep breath "I'm going to take her back, I know that sounds crazy and I could easily be killed for taking her in the first place but maybe no one saw. Maybe if she tells them I saved her and that Malachi was the one who kidnapped her in the first place I can avoid being arrested." As much as he hated the idea that's the only real thing he could see working. He couldn't just find another place, Malachi would find them for sure.

Alden wasn't quite satisfied at hearing this. He wasn't expecting Erin to be so mature and wanted to instead take her elsewhere and run away. "I'm quite surprised at the maturity of your answer Erin. I'm assuming you know that she has duties to fulfill, family she needs comfort from?" Alice may love Erin, but he can't provide the type of love a parent can, or ever have that bond. "But you do realize, that when you take her back, she may be married off to someone else? She is a princess, arranged marriages happen. And only to people of her class." Erin would never be able to marry her, he had to know that. Princesses were nine times out of ten, put into arranged marriages unless the parents approved of a husband the princess fell in love with. And was the same social status.

Erin sat quiet for a moment, he knew all too well he'd never be able to be happy with Alice, he knew from the start that he would never be able to marry her, never be able to have kids with her (not yet at least > ). "Yes, I know. But I can't provide for her the things she needs. But I want her to be happy, i'm sure she'll understand. She will right?" He had tears in his eyes while he spoke, but wiped them away quickly. "We need to leave as soon as we can, I'm going to explain to her what's happening and get her ready." Erin stated before standing from his seat, he walked slowly up the stairs, it would be almost like a goodbye when he brings her back. There was no telling what will happen to him once they get there but all he could do was hope he had a chance. As he walked into Alice's room he stood in the doorway for a moment trying not to think it over a million more times. "I'm taking you back, I can't keep you safe and I'm not letting you be sold off. The only place where you can be safe and live happy is back at your kingdom." He stated to her but didn't look at her, he was scared to.

{We are horrible people to them lol} Alice was hoping Erin and Alden had come up with a plan to bring her elsewhere. To a place that would keep Erin safe as well, and where she could live with him. Where she could marry him one day, and bear his children. But that was never meant to be. She can't be safe and do those things, she can't do those things and be safe. It was rough spot, and when Erin told her what he was going to do, she felt her heart break, her eyes water, and her gaze fell downcast. Alice wasn't planning on Erin seeing her cry, she never liked for people to see her cry. "It would be best..." Alice had to admit she missed her family dearly, she missed her younger siblings and older brother, she missed her mother and father. And as much as she loved Erin, she knew it was impossible to have both.

(I'm not too sure if I feel bad xD)
Erin didn't know how to feel when she agreed, it hurt a lot to think about but it was for the better. As much as he wished for things to be different there was no chance they could ever stay happy and safe. "I'm sorry... Alice" he said quietly to her, his voice was trembling. He wanted to cry, oh did he ever. But he didn't want to make it harder for himself to say bye when the time came. It would be impossible for him to fully accept what was happening but he'd do his best to be mature about things.

{If I'm being honest...I don't feel bad at all lol} Alice could tell Erin was upset, the way his voice shook ever so slightly. He was fighting back emotions, that wasn't hard to detect for her. Alice tended to pick up on things like that, while others she was completely oblivious to them. "It's alright, it's not your fault..." well, technically it was. He was the reason she was here in the first place. But he couldn't help it, he did it for Ethan at the time. But it wasn't his fault that he recieved an offer for her, that came through other means. "Can you stay with me tonight?" She asked quietly. Alice just wanted to have him hold her, she wanted him to comfort her. She wanted to lay beside him for one more night.
