(Ohh okay I get it, yeah I've had a few days where I'd just tune out and chill but idk using my ipod to go on here happens more often than not regardless of what I might be doing, kinda a habit again since I rejoined this site xD
What if we say she accidently stumbled upon a secret room in the house? And decided to ask about the real room and ends up getting the truth out of him? We'll say it's a room full of records of the war and things like that?)

( haha, yeah, going on here really does become a habit fast.
ooo, that works, yeah! so she'd know about the secret room but only ask about the room 'in front' of it? if so, what kind of questions do you think would lead him in the direction she wants him to go? I'm not sure how she'd get him to tell her anything about the secret room if she didn't hint that she already knew about it. )

(Oh man can I ever agree with that.
Well he did mention his family was heavily involved with the war, maybe she can ask about that, see if they have anything in their house from back then or things like that? He'd probably be end up tellong her whatever she wanted to know and most likely end up showing her although he shouldn't. He'd be hesitant but he would!)

( it's not the kind of habit that sneaks up on you either. it at least goes for me that I'm incredibly aware that it became and is now a habit.
that works, yeah! we can definitely take it in a war direction, that makes a lot of sense for Maria, too. let's go with that! )

(That's for sure xD)
Astral nodded in agreement, "That's very true. Although I'm not sure if I'd rather have someone be rude over boring. At least if they were broing you could still be friends." He said with a chuckle. He was for sure glad she hadn't been either of the two. She was quite the opposite, he saw her as a fun person who was very friendly. As long as they weren't talking about something that could be considered a touchy subject they seemed to be fine. (Something should happen, I don't like them being comfortable for long xD) ( it's getting too comfy, I agree. what should we do? )
Maria hummed. "True. But if they're rude you can argue with them, and sometimes that's entertaining in and of itself." She wasn't going to lie and say that she didn't appreciate a good argument with someone she really despised. It was different if it was between friends, obviously, but as long as she genuinely didn't like someone she was all too happy to jump into a fight, be it verbal or physical. That was something she thought she should work on, there was just the slight issue of enjoying it. ( went ahead and quoted our last posts for reference since it#s been a while ^^ )
Things were silent for a while after that. Maria wasn't sure why Astral was quiet, but she knew that she was thinking. Or, more accurately, plotting. She knew that there was a secret room in this house somewhere. She wasn't sure what it contained, but both the resistance and Astral himself had told her that the family of this house had been heavily involved with the war. And she knew it linked back to the past, somehow, because that was why she was here. Because of things that had happened decades ago.
"I'm sorry to bring it up," she said eventually. "I know it's a sore subject for both of us, but I have to ask. It's going to drive me insane otherwise, living here and not knowing." She paused, gathering herself for a beat longer than she had to. "Did you, your family, keep anything from the war?" She might be asking because of her job, but she also felt like she'd have had to know if she hadn't been here to spy. She'd been alive for the war, fought in it even. If these was something in this house that had been kept - spoils, files, anything - she wanted to know so that she could prepare herself for it.

Astral thought about it for a moment, he wasn't sure if he should be showing her that room that nobody knew about, but maybe he could trust her? He stood and cleared his throat, he knew he'd show her the room it was hidden in, but not the secret room. That was considered off limits for even him the majority of the time he was home. "We have a room for stuff like that, believe it or not. My dad is a collector, and the war was something he was heavily involved in as I said before. He has a lot of books and things of that sort in the room, and some antique type stuff laying around but it's nothing insanely special. I'll show you, follow me" he said as he begun to walk towards the stairs. It couldn't hurt to show her though right? If they were quick maybe they wouldn't be caught? But what if they were? He was hesistant to say the least. But he could decide when they got up there.
As he walked up the flights of stairs he was slow reach the top. They had went three floors up before he went off down a hallway and there was two big doors at the end "it's in there" he said to her knowing she'd understand what he meant. As they entered the room it was a huge mess, everything had been layed out but nowhere near any orderly fashion.

"Thank you," Maria said gently as she stood and followed him. She didn't know what he was feeling, why he was doing this, but she knew that he was doing something for her. Not only did she need to be grateful for her cover to work, but she was genuinely glad. Not everyone would have taken too kindly to her request, especially not in a family like his. She had to make sure he knew of her gratitude.
He pointed the door out and she nodded, almost a little grimly. She hesitated for a short moment, unsure of what she was about to see, then stepped inside.
The room was a mess. Things were strewn across the floor and stacked in piles along the walls. It was a lot of things, but it wasn't neat, and while she was glad it wasn't neatly filed away, she winced at the thought of sifting through this whenever she got the chance. She didn't allow herself to take a closer look at anything, not now, so she took the room in as a whole instead. It wasn't long before she realised it. The room was too small, too cramped. This wasn't all they had. That made her angrier than anything she'd seen in a long time, that a family had this much on the war and that it still wasn't enough. What were they using this information for? Why was it so secret?
"There's so much in here," she said. Giving her voice sad undertones wasn't hard. They'd have been there even if she hadn't wanted them to be. "So much." A beat, then, "Makes me wonder why you don't get a bigger room for it all." She forced lightness into her tone, making it seem as though this was nothing but a joke meant to lighten what was clearly not a good mood and not what it really was, fishing for information.

Erin wasn't really happy he'd shown her if he were honest, talking about the war and how his family were involved and how they still had things laying around from it wasn't something he'd bern excited to show her. He took a seat in the only clean corner in the room and watched as she examined the room. After a moment he started to look around as well, he hadn't really known what was truly in here so seeing it was quite interesting. Even though he barely went into the room he knew there was a small hidden crouch way into another hidden room. It was behind a big stack of books and a table, but it was very well hidden and even if she did move the things in front it easily blended in with the wall. He raised an eyebrow as he heard what she said 'a bigger room huh?' He thought to himself with a smirk on his face. "Well i mean we- no I'm actually not aloud to talk about that." He cut himself off quickly before getting up and looking through some papers, hoping maybe Maria wouldn't ask about what he was talking about, maybe she'd shrug it off but he knew it was unlikely.

Maria had to turn away from him under the pretense of examining an old uniform to hide her pleased smile. She'd been right. This wasn't it. Despite how upsetting that revelation was, she felt more than a little satisfied that she'd managed to figure that out. "You're not allowed to talk about what?" she asked curiously, absently running her fingers along the seams of the clothing held carefully in her hand. She didn't look at him still, having sufficiently distracted herself by actually taking in the room's contents.

(Lowkey I use a guy Erin in a bunch of rps so sorry if I use that name insyead, he's my main so it's instinct xD)
Astral bit his lip hard trying to figure out a way to play it off "i'm not trying to be rude but it's more something for my family to know" he stated and soghed lightly "sorry" he added afterwards before making his way towards the hidden door, he placed a hand on the table as if he were looming at things but he was staring at where the door would be, although it was hidden he knew exactly how to open it and how it looked.
(I'm in class my responses might be bad sorry)

( cx it's cool, I get it. been there myself once or twice. and don't worry about it, I know all about rping during class and its... interesting. )
Maria shrugged as though this didn't matter, though it absolutely did. She hadn't expected this to be easy, but getting a no still meant she'd failed, even if it was just temporarily. She looked at him now, noting his location but paying no mind to it. After all, there were things to look at in the entire room. "This isn't all you have, is it?" she asked, carefully. "Don't answer if you can't, if there's anything I understand it's keeping secrets, but there's a second room you can't show me, right? That's fine. I don't need to see it I just need to know that this is here." She gestured to the room, raking her gaze over it yet again. "It's the history of my loss told by the victors, you know, and having it in the house is kind of bittersweet. I just wanted to know it was here so that I could come to terms with what that means."

Astral let out a small sigh as she asked, she knew but he still didn't want to show her. As much as he didn't want to he figured she deserved to know, after all she could easily look for it later that night while everyone slept. "Promise me you won't tell anyone, okay?" He said as he looked over to her, not turning his body, only his head. He wanted to trust her with the room and the secrets inside of it but that would be hard to do. Even if she did promise she could easily let out the secret without him knowing. He moved a few of the books slowly, waiting to see if she would promise or not, he figured she would but he was still slightly hesitant to show her.

"Of course," Maria said, laying the uniform down again. She was glad he had agreed to show her; she would have been happy with confirmation that she was right in her assumption, but getting a chance to see where it was instead of having to stumble around in order to find it later was an offer she wasn't going to turn down. "You have my word." She walked over to stand next to him, curiously watching as he moved a few books around.

After moving everything out of the way Astral stood silently, still trying to decide whether or not this was okay, but regardless it was way too late now. He'd already showed her where the door was to be, and it was quite obvious if you're actually looking for a hidden door. "It's right here..." he said quietly as he looked at the small door behind everything. "Just flip that switch" he said and pointed to a light switch, it looked as if it would control the lights in the room but there was another one by the door, and this room was so small why would there be two seperate light switches for the same room? He looked over at Maria, biting his lip as he did. He knew he wasn't supposed to be showing her this, but she gave her word. She was trust worthy right? For what he knew she was, so far she seemed like a genuine person so he had some trust in her, though it could be lost again quite quickly.

Maria looked on, memorising the location of the door. She'd need to return here sometime, sometime when she was alone and didn't risk being found out. He pointed to a switch and she frowned. Dubious, she reached for it. She hesitated again, uncomfortable with not knowing what it did, but decided that the risk was worth it. For the resistance. She flipped it, waiting on edge to see what would happen.
( I'll probably have short posts for a bit, just as a heads up! )

(It's alright, I get like that to ) Astral looked at the switch as she touched it, he was regretting his decision more and more as the time passed. After a moment of waiting a dim light came from what seemed to be creases in the wall, he pushed along one of the edges carefully and opened the door slowly, as if he were still trying to decide whether or not she should see what was in there. (I'm still not sure what it should be xD) he sighed as he opened it the rest of the way before taking a step into the small- no, tiny, walk way that seemed to come out of nowhere.

( ahhh, me neither. I mean, it has to relate to the war somehow, right? files, maybe? like extensive information they have on vampires after studying their prisoners during the war maybe (might even include some things the vamps don't even know themselves, like why they react poorly to sunlight or something). or it could be spoils, maybe? that's the kind of thing you'd want to display nicely but also keep hidden from anyone who might come prying because they're valuable. those are the two things I can think of, if you don't want to use either I can continue brainstorming or you can take your pick between them! )

it is super cool, actually! it's a competition, the winner gets to represent us at Eurovision later this year, but it's evolved into the biggest event of the year. it's at the point where there's not one but three crisp-flavours made especially for it every year. it's ridiculous but so much fun. )

( I took the liberty of replying and describing what she finds in the room, hope that's okay! I thought things would be more organised in this room, but if that's not the case just strike out anything I wrote that was wrong and forget I ever said she saw it haha. )
Maria glanced over at him, confused. She was certain that she didn't want to walk down this walkway, but she was just as sure that she had no choice. She couldn't back out now. She wouldn't. So, after a short hesitation, she started walking. As she walked, it became clear that she didn't want to see this. On each side were treasures, spoils of war. Most were just difficult to look at, reminders of her loss, but others made her feel queasy. Just wondering who had to have died for these things to be here made her was to be sick. And then, finally, she passed them and there was nothing but filing cabinets. Cabinet after cabinet after cabinet. The folders and books in the room outside this one had just been scratching the surface.

Astral stood and watched for a moment, unsure of whether or not he should trust her on her own. Regardless on what he decided on how he felt about her he followed her slowly, there was a lot to look at and the most of it even he didn't know was there. Once they got fully into the room he stopped and just looked, he didn't know if he wanted to actually read anything from the filing cabinets or not, or if he was even supposed to. "I have your word, we were never in here, right?" He said to Maria as he stopped to look over at her

( good, I'm glad! and alright, good to know ^^ )
Maria nodded. "We were never here," she repeated. She gave a small, reassuring smile and then looked away from him in favour of looking down at her hands. "And I'm never going back," she murmured, softly and entirely to herself this time. She wished it could be true. She wanted nothing more than to run from this place and never return, to forget it had ever existed and to never again feel so trapped in her own loss. But that couldn't be. She had to come back, had to see what was in these cabinets. But not today. Instead she walked back to where the spoils were kept, looking at them sadly. "I guess your family likes remembering it, huh?" she said, once again speaking to Astral and not herself.

Astral gave a light sigh, he knew what it was and how it wouldn't be the nicest sight for her. He didn't like the sight of it either, but she was right. His family had so much to do with the war they pictured it almost as their masterpiece. "I wish they wouldn't, I don't understand how they can see it as something to be proud of. Too much negatives happened during that time but I guess it's too late now huh?" He answered her before making his way out, he didn't want to be in there anymore. It just made him angry and sad at the same time.
