"No, the rest of the crowd is still asleep." Bryanna replied with a small smile, turning her head to look inside the van full of asleep teens. "I was already awake when I heard you close the laptop." She added, not wanting Brooke to think she was responsible for Bry being up at such an early hour. Sure Bry had started to go back to sleep when she heard Brooke, but it didn't matter anyway. If the trip into Vegas wasn't very exciting Bry could always take a short nap. When Brooke suggested to climb up onto the roof with her, Bry nodded cheerfully, saying, "Yeah, that sounds better than standing down here." She laughed, although keeping her voice down as she did, still aware of the sleeping group a few paces from her. She climbed up on top of the van, trying to make the least amount of noise possible, which was somewhat hard because she took the hard way to lifting herself up from the side. She was more of a runner than weight lifting. Once situated in a spot next to Brooke, Bry looked out at the city. "You were right, the view is pretty nice." She confirmed with a small nod before turning to look at Brooke, a more serious expression falling over her head. "So what's going on back at camp?" Brooke watched Bry struggling to hoist herself up onto the van with a mischievous grin. Her climb hadn't exactly been dignified either - she was very short, and the weeks of sitting in a van had made her less agile than usual. She was getting clumsy and out of practice in both body and spirit; she almost wished she was back at camp. The constant monster attacks had to be daunting, but at least they were doing something. Her mind was already buzzing with ideas about how to manage the defenses, secret tunnels she knew of that they could use to their advantage, the best places to plant guards by the border. She'd text Jo some of them later, though she was sure her friend was already on it. "They're getting hit hard," Brooke said, drumming her fingers against her leg. "Harder than us out here, probably. I mean, not to reduce what we've been dealing with. Those harpies literally tried to carry Bec off last week. But at least we can run. They're stuck defending the whole camp manually, no borders left now." She paused, looked over the city, tried to collect her thoughts and stay positive. That was as much her job as driving. "That's fine, though. Camp's been through worse. I'm more worried about the fact that Olympian magic seems to be fading, as Khaos gets stronger. Ambrosia and nectar aren't working like they should." She lifted her right arm, which was scarred from where the serpent had gotten a bite of her. "Lucky for me, this happened before that, or I'd be a total goner." She grinned again. this is where we're at with brooke/bry, but we can end that at any time when the whole group is here 'cause we need to do Official Prophecy stuff

i think he was a great villain in himself, too, in that he was totally convinced that what he was doing was right and justified and some of the time you could totally see his point
but sometimes marvel villains can look ridiculous so i loved how huge and imposing his suit was, and how whenever he came down on spiderman he really looked like a terrifying predator, especially with the eyes

i'll respond tomorrow, my eyes are killing me.
TBH he reminded me more of mothman than a bird XD But yeah out of most villains are boring with nothing really supporting their reason, but Vulture had a reason. They were being treated like crap and so he took power into his own hands. Can't really blame the guy.
Also did you get a little spiderman figurine from the movie theater?

Brooke watched Bry struggling to hoist herself up onto the van with a mischievous grin. Her climb hadn't exactly been dignified either - she was very short, and the weeks of sitting in a van had made her less agile than usual. Bry's mood depressed as Brooke explained what was going on back at camp. Although Bryanna had only been at camp maybe a month or two before the prophecy was revealed, she still felt like it was home, and now more than ever did she hope that they were going to finish the prophecy and defeat Khaos. Some days she felt like they wouldn't, like when Brooke, Jonah and her brother were attacked by Nyx and her minions out in the desert of Area 51. That day killed a few pieces of hope that Bry held on to. Life as a demigod didn't look easy, but now she was living it, and now it was getting worse. She found it hard to keep her positive attitude, and slowly nodded as Brooke continued to talk. "Yeah, I've been thinking maybe we should attach some weights to Bec..." Bry joked quietly, trying to lighten the mood, at least somewhat. "I can't imagine what it must be like back at camp... Trying to live a normal life while fighting for it at the same time." She added after a few moments of contemplation, looking back toward the east. She took a deep breath and turned toward Brooke as the girl showed her right arm, scarred from the attack a few weeks ago. It looked gross, and Bry tried not to think about how much that must have hurt. "So what lies ahead of us?" Bryanna started, gesturing to the city lights with her shoulder, moving her legs so that were crossing each other and she could lean on her knees. "If Khaos is getting stronger, would that have any possible change on the prophecy, or its outcome?" While Bry might've done well in school when it came to math, science, and general history, she hadn't studied Greek mythology or anything related. At camp she studied magic, and things she was supposedly able to do because of the lovely Circe. She could feel the spite growing in her stomach at the thought of her mother. "I'm worried." She admitted, her voice almost a whisper, wrapping her arms around herself as a breeze rolled by.

Brooke noticed Bry glancing away from her arm, and had to make a conscious effort not to say something biting. Her scar wasn't that bad, just new and raw, but it had become something of a point of vanity. She figured there were worse flaws to have. At least she had a story to tell Jo. "We can't spare weights, he just needs to work on his reaction time, morph an elephant next time," she replied lightly. She'd noticed monsters making a beeline for the Circe twins recently; it made sense Khaos was targeting the important players in the prophecy. No need to waste a good harpy attack on a little daughter of Athena, after all.
She followed Bry's gaze to the Vegas skyline. "I don't know what happens next. I'm not like most of my siblings - I don't mind not knowing the answer. Gives life a kick, an element of mystery. But I am still Athena's spawn, and my head is always full of a billion angles and possibilities and probabilities. Right now about all of them are bad." She curled her fingers into a fist, frustrated. "And it never turns off. So that's fun." Brooke wasn't particularly strong or especially brave, but her brain was a fearsome beast, always going going going. "If I were Khaos, I'd be waiting in that casino. I'd have all my best people guarding that weapon. We barely escaped Nyx, and she obviously wasn't trying to kill us. If we come face-to-face with Khaos now...." She let herself trail off, not wanting to imagine her own death, before changing tack.
"...and that's another thing. What is Khaos playing out? Why have they let us get this far? I've been rolling around a theory that this is a game, to them. They're letting us get close for the fun of it." And I'm not used to being the one on the receiving end of game-playing. Medicine, and all that. She shrugged expansively when she realized her hands were shaking a little. She'd never ever let herself get like this around any other quest members, but not knowing Bry well worked in her favor. She was kind of a steadying presence, despite her own obvious fears.
"I guess it all comes down to this weapon. However it works. I can't figure it out, mechanically, and I'm good at weapon design. It must be durable or well-hidden if Khaos hasn't gotten rid of it already."

god, ice, that sucks D: do you know why your eyes are always giving you trouble, or is it inexplicable? is there anything you can do or take? ive seen multiple doctors (different types along with multiple of each kind) and none of them can explain why they hurt. medicine doesn't work, nor do eye drops. so i'm basically left to suffer until the pain goes away. i mostly just sit in dark rooms with an icepack or wet rag over my eyes and as shown by the other day my pain can range from just eye pain to hell on earth + puking

"I guess it all comes down to this weapon. However it works. I can't figure it out, mechanically, and I'm good at weapon design. It must be durable or well-hidden if Khaos hasn't gotten rid of it already." Bry stayed silent as Brooke seemed to make a check list for 'reasons why they should definitely /not/ go into Las Vegas', only nodding her head when Brooke took a moment to breathe before continuing on. The prophecy itself wasn't very descriptive on what was going to happen, which only lead to Bry thinking of the worst possibilities of what every line meant. Since they left camp, the group really hadn't discussed it, which they probably should have, especially after getting the hint that what they were looking for was in Las Vegas. She knew that she and Bec were the "inseparable souls", and that one of them would power whatever weapon they were getting, but outside of that Bryanna wasn't sure of her involvement in the quest other than being scared out of her mind. She wondered if all prophecies were as vague as theirs. Another line that made Bry suspicious was the one about the "ill-wind". It was obvious who the line was talking about, but the words used in it 'beast' and 'nature' made her unsure of his future actions. With meeting new people, Bry always kept an open mind, but with so many sleepless nights, she couldn't help but wonder about the people around her. Was Jonah going to do something they'd regret? Who makes the "fatal mistake"? Bry often questioned whether she was capable of making a mistake. It could happen, one never knew. Maybe it was something simple that looked harder than it was. Or maybe it was something that couldn't be stopped, like Khaos' ever growing power. Bry blinked, trying to clear her head of all the plausible outcomes of the prophecy lines. Maybe Jonah doesn't do anything after all, she thought to herself, Bec doesn't seem to mind him, and Bec usually dislikes a lot of people. Snapping back out of her thoughts, Bry realized Brooke was still talking and that she had been not listening to what the daughter of Athena had been telling her. Slowly nodding, Bry waited to answer until she processed what Brooke had been saying and look as though she had been listening intently the entire time. The last thing she wanted was for Brook to think that she didn't care, which wasn't true, it was that she cared too much. But, that would be normal for the situation they were in, right? "Maybe they can't figure out how it works either? And that's why they're letting us get close. To see if we know." Bryanna offered up, starting to braid her hair and looking down at the roof of the van, trying to keep her mind off impending doom. "Or maybe he doesn't think we're even a threat." She added, mumbling as she narrowed her eyes. Referring to Khaos as a person felt weird to her, unfamiliar. Khaos was a ... Thing, and idea, a feeling. Not a person who was out to kill everything and destroy the world. A deep sigh rolled off her chest, Bry really wasn't getting the hang of demigod life.

my calculus teacher added an extremely hard question to our homework and admitted he knew it was hard and decided not to remove it when people couldnt get it. he claimed it would be "okay" if you didn't get t (considering it goes to the hundredth decimal place & you have to have the exact. numbers. or. else. it's. wrong.) but with all the other points in the homework and not having that one (after i tried 5 times and spent over 4 hours on the same question [with the change of numbers for each retry]) i have a 88% on the homework. like. if it didn't "affect my grade" it should be a 98% or something more than 90%. But no, it's not. Not affect my grade my ass.
And no matter how many times i try to solve the equation with different variants, i get it wrong. And the teacher wrote on the forum that "i know that even if you know how to get the answer the decimal variants can be off".
SO TAKE THE QUESTION OFF GOSH DANG IT. SORRY IF I DONT KNOW THE TIME IT TAKES FOR A PLANE TO FLY FROM THE MILITARY BASE TO GET INTO AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LOCAL MOUNTAIN BEFORE JUMPING OVER TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION. I DONT THINK DEBRA KNOWS EITHER. SORRY IF THE AP CALCULUS KID KNOWS IT, THAT'S 1 OUT OF 25 PEOPLE.
