Heya, I'm Ellie. Anybody fancy helping with this rp? I don't mind if you want to be the leader/person in control of the page when it gets finished. In a sentence: Agents track teens with powers. Not finished yet, but feel free to submit a character and I can get you when it's done.
NOTE please join as agents! If it gets to heavy on the gifted side I'll be forced to cancel further gifted joining until it's balanced out a bit. I'm not saying we need equal numbers, but at least four agents... A scientist, field agent, I don't mind.
Okay basic idea:
Group of kids(range from preteen to young adult) discover they have superpowers. Start off on their own/with their friend, and gradually they all meet and stick together(although rogues can go off on their own, it's more fun to have them interacting)
Thinking that some event caused all of them to get powers at the same time. Ideas for this?
So, a bunch of youths figuring out their newfound powers... What could go wrong?
Well, for starters the government's after them. Why? We can decide this... Maybe they screwed up and caused big accidents with their powers in the beginning, and were labelled terrorists? Maybe there's always been a team of people finding potential threats, and these kids just came on their radar? Maybe one of them is a bit of a troublemaker?
These detectives have been hand picked by the higher ups in the government to find and neutralise the targets. They each have their own reasons for what their doing, and motivations we can explore and challenge. Potential drama if they realise they know one of the kids? We should have people rping as the detectives as well as the powered peeps, to make it less 'evil government goons' and more people trying to protect the country they love.
Rules:
Sorry guys, gotta have em!
•Follow all forum rules. Pretty much a given. If this rp gets deleted because you couldn't be nice, I'll be really upset!
•No Mary Sues/Gary Stus(AKA perfect characters) If your character has no flaws and is nice and kind and clever but not a pushover blah blah blah it gets really boring to interact with them. Flaws mean fun! But equally don't have an utterly despicable character with no redeeming qualities, they're just as irritating. The drama comes in the grey areas between.
•No ridiculous powers. By that, I'm basically adding into the previous rule. Don't have the most powerful superhuman ever to exist that can't be beaten ever, or that has fifteen amazing powers. They're boring, and also mean that everyone else's characters aren't as cool. Also, please try not to repeat powers. If you're unsure, check through the character list before you join for anything that's the same. Variations of a power are allowed, but it's more fun if it's different.
•Be literate! I'm not asking for Shakespeare, just coherent sentences that make sense. Try to further the story with each post; don't just say something that stagnates the whole rp because again, it makes it less fun!
•Have fun! Seriously, these rules are only here so that everyone can get along and have a good time without getting in each other's nerves.
General Intro
The Agents intro
"You all know that you are here due to the sudden outbreak of powered people, all appearing to be between the ages of 12 and 21, however there are only a few known accounts right now, we aren't sure how many there actually are or how they came to have their... Capabilities." A large British man intoned from the front of the room and head of the table.
It hasn't been five minutes into the briefing and already the Italian agent, Valentini something, has decided to butt in with her two cents. "And just how are we supposed to find these powered children of yours? You don't even know how many are running around your godforsaken town!" The heavily accented woman snarled.
The man at the head of the table crossed his arms, "I'm sorry, Agent Valentini, I don't remember giving you permission to speak." He frowned, staring the dark haired agent down.
In turn the Italian rolled her eyes, "Yes, yes, but you must admit, it's a perfectly valid question." She said, also crossing her arms over her chest in mimic of the British agent in charge.
With a huff the British Agent gestured towards a smaller man who appeared to be attempting to stay out of the way. "Agent Abedin will be able to help with that, he will be tracking the credit cards, social media accounts, and anything else that the powered people we do know of do, not to mention that if one of them decides to flash their powers around in public it'll be all over social media within minutes."
"Alright, and when we do find your little darlings? What then?"
"Then, you will bring them in for questioning so we can figure out why they are the way they are." The man was slowly losing his patience with the female agent. "Now, are there any more questions, valid or otherwise?" He asked, glaring into the eyes of each agent in the room, clearly meaning he wanted no more questions. Everyone was silent, even the outspoken Italian. "Good, Abedin, track down those kids, we have work to do."

Detectives:
Rakib Abedin | Sundrop | 27 | Male | Expert hacker and general computer whizz | Makes up for his below average height with way above average intelligence. His smoky brown eyes dart around incessantly, freaking out his comrades to an extent. His Bangladeshi heritage made him a bit of an outcast at school in France, where the vast majority were white. As a result he has learned to make himself an unobjectionable as he can, not looking people in the eye in case it comes off as aggressive, not approaching others unless absolutely necessary... In recent times the vendetta against him because of his skin has only increased, so he's kept clean shaven, and avoided wearing his white taqiyah in public. He retreats into computers, finding solace in this other world where nothing but your technical skills matter. He always wanted to protect his country, and prove his good intentions and made a good name for Muslims everywhere, but didn't view his cyber skills as a way into it until his twenties. Since then he managed to get into French Intelligence and steadily work his way up the ranks, thanks to his incredible quick thinking and his superb language skills(he speaks fluent French, Bengali, Arabic and English, and is proficient in German and Chinese as well. He's currently learning Russian.) He has a kind heart if you get to know him, but his nervous tics throw people off. His parents made the decision to move back to Bangladesh when he was 16. Since then, he lived on his own and provided for himself. This independence was another reason he succeeded in the world of Intelligence. His social skills can be lacking, and although he never intends to do harm he can come off as awkward and rude. In the work environment he is more assertive because he is sure of his skills. |
Alonza Valentini | twenty øne piløts | 31 | Female | Field Agent | Alonza is a fiery young woman, with dark, almost black hair that reaches just past her shoulders and equally dark eyes framed by dark, but short lashes. Her skin has a hint of color to it, but not much with the slightest smattering of freckles dashed across her nose. She isn't all that tall, but she certainly isn't that short, about 5'5, and with a pair of well thought out heels, she becomes much taller than she actually is. Speaking of heels, Alonza has a tendency to wear them a lot, despite the fact that her job entails a ridiculous amount of running, and unless she is undercover or something similar she is almost always seen wearing a business suit of some sort. Alonza is fit and prides herself on being an expert of many things, even if in reality that isn't the case at all. Alonza is not a shy person, it's kind of hard to be with a job like hers, but she is also very stubborn, almost to a fault. In fact, her stubbornness has gotten the Italian in trouble on more than one occasion. She doesn't really like working with people either, she's just kind of an unpleasant person in general, but she is a dedicated agent so it almost makes up for it. Many people say to be in the Intelligence business you have to fit a profile, and from what can be seen of her, Valentini certainly fits that profile, and it is just another thing that the fiery Italian prides herself on. She doesn't make friends well and some would say she just doesnt play nice, so not many people know about her past but there isn't really that much to it. She was raised by her mother, as well as her older brother and everything was good. One day she got it in her mind that she was going to be an Intelligence agent and so she became one, there isn't really a reason for it other than her stubbornness and want to prove others wrong, along with a healthy love of her country of course. | Other
Gifted:
Oscar Whitfield | 18 | Male | Sundrop | Shapeshifting. Very little control over it right now, he's accidentally become a sort of wolffish animal when he lost his temper. Also has become an otter when he was happy and not paying attention. When he gains control he'll be very powerful, but right now his shifting is uncontrolled and random. | Oscar is a tall, laid back guy with bleached blond hair drifting about his head. He has tan skin, due to his Italian mother, which contrasts his dyed hair quite starkly(yet stylishly). He's reasonably good looking but nothing to sing about. People see him more handsome than he objectively is, because he's a nice guy and that makes people like him, which means they only see the best in him. His dark brown eyes regard the world somewhat reservedly, but he doesn't let this on. He hides his anxieties and concerns for his sister (and the entire rest of the world) behind a relaxed smile and 'cool' attitude. He's generally amicable and easy to get along with, but you rarely feel like you can talk about serious things with him. He never lets anything past his jokes and easy going smiles. Nobody knows what goes on behind this guise, or even that there is a guise, except for his sister, and even she pretends that she doesn't to make him more comfortable. Someday the stress he bottles up could break him, and no one will expect it. He's dyslexic, and this wasn't diagnosed until high school, so he spent a lot of his academic career being chastised for being lazy and not trying hard enough. This made him frustrated, and eventually took the attitude that it's better not to try than to try and fail. Outgoing and gets on well with everyone, people don't really pick on him because he doesn't react or let out his anger. Reasonably sporty but nothing special, enjoyed basketball and kayaking. He plays the guitar and sings, and is pretty good at it. Had no plan on what to do when he left school, maybe travel, but he had no money to do it with. Now he's too focuses on surviving to worry about a future. | Older brother to Jazz.
Alistair "Reese" Kincaid | Icestar | 20 | Male | Illusion. His powers primarily involve altering people's perception of reality, causing them to see/hear/smell/taste/feel things that are not there, and (more difficult to do but within Reese's power) to miss things that actually are. It takes a lot of concentration to create these illusions, and in time he will come to master the art of subliminal manipulation by showing people things out of the corner of their eye or very briefly in order to get their thinking on a certain track. | Reese is tall, a solid six feet two inches, with vaguely wavy light brown hair just barely long enough to be tied into a tight ponytail, though he doesn't usually go for that look. His eyes are steely blue. He's Caucasian with a pretty moderate skin tone, maybe a little on the tanner end of the spectrum. His shoulders are broad and he has a tattoo of a footprint on his lower back. He's from Glasgow and speaks with a Scottish accent. He's pretty smart but not what you would call book smart. He's in university, living in a frat house, and he dedicates most of his weekends to drinking, partying, and partaking in other questionable but typical "collegiate" activities. He can be intimidating, a result of a combination of his size and his demeanor; he's extremely confident and persuasive. A lot of this has changed somewhat with the advent of his powers; for a while he experienced what could pretty easily be labeled hallucinations—illusions he created for himself based on his subconscious thoughts. Most of his classmates, professors, and friends at least noticed something was off about him and he spent more time on his own trying to gain control over it, but he wanted to carry on living exactly as he had been. This didn't exactly work out for him. | None
Yoongi 'Jackson' Min | Ƹмαcнı вυттεяғʟчƷ | 19 | Male | Teleportation - Ability to deconstruct self and travel through space in the form of small, shard-like particles | Being of Asian, specifically Korean, descent, Yoongi's hair is naturally a dark shade of brown, almost black under dim lighting. His eyes are the same shade. However, Yoongi (or Jackson, as he is more commonly known) has taken the liberty to dye his hair blonde. He keeps it cut short, with bangs that sweep over his forehead, and takes great care in covering up his roots whenever they start to show. Over his lifetime, he's also managed to dye his hair a variety of other colors, including mint, silver, and red. Jackson can always be seen wearing small, silver hoop earrings and his right index finger is nearly always adorned with a platinum ring. In general, Jackson wears ripped jeans and a plain t-shirt with a black jacket over his slim form along with a pair of sneakers. He also owns a collection of snapbacks, which, when worn, pull his bangs back over his head to reveal his forehead. His facial features are soft, round, child-like even in his late teens. His smile is sweet and innocent, though that does little to describe his actual personality. Jackson, though he shows moments of sweetness, is very much capable of beating you senseless. He would hardly hesitate to do it, either. Though oftentimes lazy and unwilling to do much, Jackson has proven himself over and over again to be protective by nature, though only of his close friends and those he considers family. Everyone else, in his opinion, can go screw themselves. He has a very cynical approach on life and does not trust easily, but understands the value in playing nice. The fact that he prioritizes the safety of himself and his close relations above the well-being of all others does not, in general, take away from his ability to hold conversation. Though, if asked to choose, Jackson would much prefer to keep to himself than speak with others, as he has difficulty both expressing and understanding the emotions of himself and of others. | Though not related by blood, Jackson considers Namjoon (Kyle) to be his brother.
Namjoon 'Kyle' Kim | Ƹмαcнı вυттεяғʟчƷ | 17 | Male | Telekinesis - Ability to move objects in sight, though these objects must be within reasonable weight limits | Tall and gangly: that's certainly one way to describe Namjoon. Being of Asian, specifically Korean, descent, Namjoon (better known now as Kyle) has raven black hair and warm, brown eyes. However, he's chosen to dye his hair a grey-ish blue color. He keeps his hair cut short, parted on the right with his bangs curling up and over his forehead most days. When he's lazy, he just combs it down over his forehead, the hair stopping just short of his eyes. On the index finger of his right hand, Kyle is nearly always wearing a platinum ring and he wears silver studs where his ears have been pierced. From observing him, it would seem that Kyle rather enjoys collared shirts. It doesn't really matter what color the shirts are, he just likes it when they have a color, when they make him look clean and proper. With these shirts, often button-down, Kyle always seems to roll the sleeves halfway up his forearms. Somestimes, he might wear a blazer or other jacket outside the shirt, but he's always wearing black pants. But however proper Kyle might look, he is undeniably awkward. His limbs, at times, seem to be too long for him to control and at times, he refers to his arms as "noodles", which is symbolic of just how much control he thinks he has in his own body. He's still growing, others tell him, but Kyle doesn't know if he really wants to grow anymore. He's 6'0" now, he thinks he's ok. Kyle, in general, has a strong sense of obligation and responsibility, even if he is fulfilling the role of a younger brother. He's good at keeping promises, good at getting things done, but that doesn't mean that he isn't without his fair share of dorkiness. Because in the end, that's really all that he is: a dork. The amount of secondhand embarassment he has caused is phenomenal, but as Jackson once said, his smiles make up for that. Yet, despite his seemingly outgoing behavior, Kyle is an introvert at heart. He's sensitive about a lot of things and he really only connects and forms bonds with a few people. His emotions are something that he tries hard to keep hidden, tries to keep guarded and away from prying eyes. But they say that the eyes are the windows to a person's soul, and with Kyle, that couldn't be more truthful. | Although not related by blood, Kyle considers Yoongi (Jackson) to be his older brother.
Jasmine 'Jazz' Whitfield | 15 | Female | Sundrop | Speed. When she concentrates, it's as if time slows down to a fraction of what it was. She can move about and do things to her at a normal speed, but to everyone else in real time it's super fast. She also doesn't tire easily. | Jazz is the polar opposite of her brother. Her red hair is dark to the point where it looks brown, and her amber brown eyes flash with volatility. She wears too much makeup because she thinks she's ugly, and it isn't well done. Really she's quite pretty, but her suspicious expression somewhat ruins it. Wants to learn to do it properly. Unlike her brother, she wears her emotions on her sleeve and is generally very easy to read. Quick to anger, slow to forgive. Her brother's nonchalance can irritate her, but she knows it's all a show, and respects most of the time that that's his way of dealing with things. She prefers to hit something, shout, or cry if that's not possible-any way to release the tension. She was never very sporty at school, and preferred to spend her days in the art rooms, or doing photography. Thought it funny that she was the super fast one. Never found it easy to make friends. Had a very small group of friends all the way through school, but they often argued and fell out, before coming back together after a few days. As such, finds it hard to really open up to people because she's worried they'll use it against her when they inevitably fall out. She has too low self esteem to approach others, because she assumes they already dislike her. When she is friends with someone, has a funny and bright personality. Has a nose piercing and two in her ear cartilage. Very good cook. | Sister to Oscar.
Nicolette “Nix” Becker | Snowflower | 17 | Female | Electricity/Lightning. She can conjure up bits of electricity at her fingertips that can be used to power things or used like a taser. When she gets better control of her powers she can also summon full bolts of lightning. | Nix has light brown skin and amber eyes. Her hair is long and curly, and a very dark brown color. After she got her powers several strands of hair turned bright yellow. She wears a dark grey tank top under a hooded yellow leather jacket, with black jeans and yellow converse. Nix is a pretty outgoing person, and loves to meet new people. She was an active athlete before she got her powers, participating in several of her school's sports teams, her favorite being track. She's very open with her emotions, not hiding when she's upset or not. Her biggest flaw is being too trusting. Nix trusts without hesitation- which could lead her into trouble. She was ecstatic about getting her powers, until she found out she was a wanted person for having them. | Other
Winter Kanumi | Darktalon | 16 | Female | Icechild. Can control cold weather, and create things using ice and snow. Always has to be cold, so uses the weather manipulation to constantly have clouds snowing overhead. | Pale skin, pale blue eyes, long white hair, dainty hands. She has a loving smile and pale red lips. Thin and tall. She has no redness on her cheeks unless she's blushing. She had a feline like face that makes her look very beautiful. She wears a long white dress. The dress shimmers in the light. She has white fingerless leather gloves and white boots. She has a pale blue belt to complement her eyes. Kind and caring. She is a very sweet woman, but also a great leader. She can be strict and stern when she is needed to. | Has a male arctic fox named Lupa as a pet.
Power ideas(feel free to use others)
Healing(self and others) (would be very useful in battle situations)
Precognition (interesting for plot to give omens and freak everybody out)
Intangibility(go through walls and stuff. And things can go through them)
Darkness-produce/manipulate shadows, see in the dark.
Planned Plots:
Some kids will start off on their own, some with a sibling or friend. Gradually find each other, starting the group. Perhaps a bunch of them were rounded up by the agents, and then broken out by a friend of one of them. Then the escapees stick together. Otherwise they meet in fugitive-y places like abandoned warehouses, on the street, see each other fight with powers... The world is our oyster.
The agents have just been put on this new case, and are given rough summaries of the people they already know about. They're set to find and detain them ar any cost. Track bank cards, speak to family members, look for cctv, social media, reports of their powers or any freak accidents possibly linked. They need to get to know each other and the fugitives, while their resolve is tested by the danger and lengths they have to go to, and the brutal measures the higher ups want them to take.
Nix accidentally sets off a blackout(electricity powers). Reese(illusion power) is in the vicinity when agents start poking around. This is how they get caught.
In the future: there was previously a set of powered people. They've since been wiped out(as far as they know) and they find some magical objects that point to the past.
Perhaps some agents cook up a serum to enhance a few field agents? These agents don't know how the kids got their powers, or even if it was on purpose, so have to try on their own. Take samples from captured kids then work out how to alter agents?

General Intro
It's hard being a teenager. You're realising that the world isn't as perfect as children believe, but don't have the power to change it yet because you're still too young. Your parents aren't the saints that they appear to be when you're a kid, and it feels like everything you once knew is turning out to be a lie-or at the very least an exaggeration of the truth. School doesn't make things easier, where you have to try hard to do well in classes, but not too hard or you'll be a social outcast. You're trying to work out who you are, and how you fit into the grand scheme of things. It's tough. Tougher still when you find out you've got superpowers.
After *INSERT EVENT HERE*, several youths ranging from preteens to young adults suddenly acquired abilities they just couldn't explain. A special task force of agents all over Europe were brought together to address this international security threat, as the gifts these young people have would be disastrous if left uncontrolled. How can you arrest someone who can teleport? What if a telepath controlled the minds of politicians and caused World War III? One single person who could control lightning could total a city if they put their mind to it. The best of the best have been tasked with finding and neutralising these threats.
You can see where they're coming from, wanting to save the world and everything, but it's not like these kids asked for it. They've been forced to abandon everything they know, or risk entangling their loved ones in this game of cat and mouse.
What happens when you pit the experience and skill of adult agents against the raw power of the gifted teens? Nothing good, that's for sure.
