Rho Evergloamcourtier of the Day Court- - -It seemed like it had been eons since Rho had attended one of these lavish balls. He loved to party but with everything that had happened, no one was volunteering to hold any. This was a different matter, though - this was something much more important that dealt in the grimy business of politics. Something he didn't care for all together but would take part in when necessary, especially if there were drinks and other attractive fae included.
Luckily enough for him, both were instituted at the party by the Dawn Court. Drinks and attractive fae seemed to be something that Sebastian would never want to skimp on. Good for him. If you could afford it, why wouldn't you go all out?
Now, that didn't exactly mean that Rho was going crazy and trying to talk to every handsome male and beautiful female in attendance. No, he felt that he was doing something much more important - he was helping keep fae from intruding on Isabel's attempts at conversation with the High Lady of the Twilight Court. He knew how important it was for Isabel to establish a relationship with her and he didn't want someone obstructing her chances - someone like William Serafin.
William Serafin was an Illyrian half-blood and a tried and trued member of the Night Court. He even wore that detestable scowl that almost all of Loren's subjects seemed to have. Rho wouldn't put it past him to try to stop his High Lady of increasing her influence so, without hesitation, he picked up a flute of fae champagne and headed towards him. His walk was almost a predatory stalk, but it wasn't frightening or unusual. Lots of fae moved in that oddly graceful way, him more so than others.
When he reached William Serafin, he dusted off something invisible off of his gold leaf outfit. He certainly hadn't spared any expense in his clothing for the night, as the fabric shimmered like the midday sun anytime light hit it at a certain angle. It was certainly worthy of his court. Looking up from admiring himself, he smiled a feral grin at William and raised his glass slightly in greeting.
"William. What a pleasure to see you here. Are you enjoying the festivities?"

william serafin noble of the night court - - ✧ - -
Sipping his wine slowly, Will’s emerald irises narrowed carefully as he noticed Rho heading in his direction. Why him? Why had Rho decided to torture him — sweet, innocent Will (total lie, but he could pretend) — tonight? Was Isabel’s courtier afraid that he would try to eavesdrop on the two High Ladies? Ha. Well. If that were the case, Rho was occupying the wrong Serafin. Tobias was the one with that assignment. After all, he was the “more powerful” of the two. He was Loren’s favorite. He was the pureblooded Nightblood. Will, in the eyes of his Court, was simply a poor-man’s version of his elder half-brother. A black mark on the Serafin name. Even though he was the only one of the two Serafin siblings with a functioning brain in his head.
Additionally, if the courtier’s only reason for striking up conversation with the halfblood was, indeed, to keep Will away from Isabel, then he had made yet another mistake by assuming that he even cared about what was happening between the two High Ladies. And William Serafin could not possibly care less about what Isabel Fairlight sought to convey to Adrianna Silverblood. After all, their efforts would likely be futile. How much damage could the two weakest of the fae rulers inflict against the two strongest ones? Day and Twilight did not stand a chance against Dawn and Night — at least, in Will’s humble opinion.
So Rho’s menacing demeanor was met with simply a blank expression. The young, half-Illyrian seemed aloof. Disinterested. Certainly not a friendly, Day Court snowflake. (Quite frankly, Rho was way out of his league.) Pine-green eyes were free of emotion, and the male’s posture remained almost arrogantly-relaxed. As if Rho’s appearance did not catch him off-guard in the least. (And frankly, it didn’t faze him. He just wished that this attention-seeking imbecile would go find someone else in this huge crowd of fae. But Will hardly ever got what he wanted. So why should that change now?)
He raked a hand through his tousled, golden hair before allowing his toned arm to flop back down to his side, and he tilted his head boredly as Rho began to speak. He raised an eyebrow carefully, almost challengingly,
“Well. I was enjoying the party,” he paused briefly, thin lips curling into a sardonic half-smirk, “til you showed up.”
Only then did the halfblood huff a dark chuckle, shaking his head and rolling his green eyes as he sipped his drink again. But he wasn’t in the mood for the whole fake small talk thing. Just…no. Sure, he could put on a happy face and be polite to people he actually liked, but Rho Evergloam was certainly, without question, not a member of this group. And that was not likely to change anytime soon, thank you very much.
“What do you want, Rho?” His tone was testy, almost. As if the Day Court courtier were treading along thin ice with the Night Court noble. The sarcasm and distaste he felt would be clear to anyone.
What could I possibly do for you?

honestly I love the little brats boys so much SPOILER FOR ACOTAR/ACOMAF BELOW
what are your theories for Cassian in ACOWAR? here's mine. so SJM said that it is possible for ACOTAR and TOG to be in the same megaverse, right? Well let's go back to Manon and Abraxos in QOS/HOF(can't remember which). Abraxos's poor wings are shredded and Manon goes to those spider-women in the mountains because their silk is extremely durable and would be able to deal with flying at high altitudes and could come under great stress without tearing. What if those things exist in the ACOTAR world? Really, it's not too far-fetched. I can totally see one of the Dreamers or Nesta going out and finding them, maybe even Feyre or Mor. Another theory I heard about that is that the wings are like bat's wings, that was something stated in the books. Bat wings can actually grow back, or that's something I heard on a YT video for theories. You might want to fact check me on that one.

i mean personally for me, i don't really think there's gonna be a huge plot surrounding cassian's wings? i mean. maybe that would be the case if there were another book coming out after acowar but isn't it only a trilogy? idk man i read those books so fast i prob missed some details lolol i have to go back & reread. i just think that there's already so much going on that, unless this book is gonna be a lot longer than the other two (since they weren't like Super Long or anything), it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to have a huge trek to find a cure for his wings. maybe they'll grow back, or maybe they'll find a simple-ish way to get them back for cass. idk bro. i just feel like there's already gonna be so much going on y'know

ACOWAR is going to be HUGE, SJM already said. I think right now it's past 700 pages?? and Cassian's wings are hugely important. SJM said in the books that an Illyrian male's wings are his pride, his life. Cassian really isn't anything without his wings and would be destroyed if he didn't get them back. Plus I don't see how he could effectively help with fighting the King of Hybern with only the gauntlet-things.

Rho Evergloamcourtier of the Day Court- - -Rho grinned at William with one dark eyebrow raised. He was used to people openly showing their displeasure with him so William's words didn't much phase him - especially since he was a Night Court Illyrian half-blood. Rho wasn't usually so racist(is that the term to use??) when it came to half-bloods but if he had an enemy, he wasn't above using something like that against them.
Now was William an enemy? Not exactly. All-out war hadn't been declared between the two courts and nothing personal was in between them; it was really just a mutual disliking, or hatred. Still, he wouldn't be afraid to use William's lineage against himself.
Not quite catching onto the fact that this was the weaker sibling, Rho leaned against a column opposite of the Illyrian and took another dainty sip of champagne. "Oh, nothing. I just felt like annoying some of the Night Court this evening - when given such an ample opportunity, why waste it away? That's always been my line of thinking," he retorted quickly.
William was oh-so lucky that he didn't bear the looks that Rho was attracted to, even if he did bear the personality. Personality meant nothing to Rho without good looks. They shared the same rude sarcasm and obvious distaste and usually that was enough to send Rho into a 'feeding frenzy', per say, but with William it was definitely different. Probably because of his alliances and lineage, though the latter wouldn't usually matter in the end run unless it was a female.
Sighing, Rho raked his unnerving gaze across the large crowd gathered for the ball and noticed that William's brother was no where near him tonight. "Where is Tobias?"

sam here but if the theory in the spoiler below is true I'll probably be glad when/if he dies
SJM said that Calanmai happened while Rhys and Feyre were in the cabin. we know what that means: Tam the Tool had to bang someone. and who do we know resides in the Spring Court that very badly wants to have a High Lord's baby as a power play? FREAKING IANTHE.
THERE IS A HUUUUUUUUGE THEORY THAT SHE IS PREGNANT WITH TAM'S BABY.

lol there is one thing about SJM, she's amazing at foreshadowing.
& sorry i just get kinda defensive over character bashing only because as a writer, you know there is always going to be the good, the bad, the annoying, the pleasing there will always be characters you prefer and don't prefer but with every characters -- they make up the storyline. you wouldn't have tam without rhys, or rhys without tam; or rhys with feyre without tamlin i really liked how twisted SJM made everything and honestly, how other authors come up with such ideas for this character developments. unlike everyone, i like tamlin, more because he adds depth to the storyline of feyre, lucien and rhys. it would be boring without him or a character like him i dont know my opinion lol ignore me ok bye

loren blackthorn. the high lord of the night court. "What my court relies on and what it does not is truly none of your concern," Loren snarled, his eyes blazing with a bright amethyst fire. He took a step forward, his movements similar to that of a bristling feline, and his lips were in a tight line as he stared at the High Lord in front of him. Sebastian portrayed himself as if he was the best, the best in his position as well as his powers, but he really needed to be knocked off his high horse one day ... unfortunately, today was not that day. The handsome golden male took a step back, leaning against the fireplace once again -- the warm stone feeling wonderful upon his muscular back. He carefully watched the male, his rant starting to drone on and the patience of Loren was fading, and rather quickly too.
It was no lie that the humans of the night court mattered, mattered more to his court than Dawn Court, but that was besides the point. He may not have liked the mortal beings but he needed them, regardless of how other Courts felt about the slavery within his dark world. Humans were weak but much needed so the Night Lord kept his opinions to himself because the last thing he needed in his Court was uproar. Loren was known for ruling with a very dark temper, one that could terrify just about anyone who step foot within his borders. His dark facade faded just a bit when he left his border, mellowing those dark shadows that often swirled around him. His temper often disappeared when within the other court borders but ever so often, the glimpses of his powers showed through the cracks in his mask.
This pretty boy may look like an angel but he resembles so much more, he is truly a fallen angel that committed the worst of crimes.
Don't judge a book by its cover, because the pages are what holds the truth.
Loren gave a harsh laugh, one that rumbled in his chest and was almost as fake as his outlying smile that now lied upon his face; he really could care less of his father's infidelities. That was the problem of Dawn Court and one that could possibly make Sebastian look weak, but at the same time -- it was their own troubles and one that hardly affected those at Night Court. The laugh only lasted a moment before he tilted his head to the side, resembling all too much of a gorgeous, golden feline. His shoulders gave a slight shrug as he continued to listen to the last bit of the speech that Sebastian so perfectly gave, however Loren remained quite unimpressed. That was not Sebastian's fault but not much piqued the interest of the Night Lord.
Loren could care less of the jealousy that laced through the Dawn Lord's tone, the jealousy of not having a real family. The judgement that resided upon the thoughts of Loren Blackthorn made no appearances upon his gorgeous face, his lines were straight and his eyes wore an emotionless wall. However, a dry chuckle came from his parting lips, "there seems to be nothing in this for me. Are you really that naive to think I would give you something that does not benefit me in more than one way?" He shook his head. "Human control is the least of my worries, so that is certainly not something that Dawn Court needs to concern themselves with."
He ran one hand through his hair as he pushed himself off the fireplace, such ease and grace coiled through his muscles as he strolled through the room, towards Sebastian's awaiting figure. "You will get nothing from me," Loren purred darkly, "at least not until proven otherwise." The High Lord of the Night Court was not about to give up his only leverage and Sebastian had to have known that -- because both being high lords, and growing up in very rough families, there was nothing that the courts would share with each other. None of them were friends, but of course, allies did often align when trouble came about.
The Cauldron was trouble, truly.
Turning on his heels, a wicked smirk came across the face of the Night Lord, "let's get back to the party and I'll take your request into consideration." His back was turned towards the other High Lord but he made no attempt to look over his shoulder, as he knew that Sebastian could hear him just as if he was whispering in his ear. Loren knew how to play he game just as well as Sebastian, equal opponents in every aspect.
It was just a matter of them before their Courts aligned but Loren was making no hasty judgements when it came to his court and the members residing within the cold, northern borders.

tbh i think tam is gonna die in acowar in some big sacrifice to save them as a way to redeem himself because if tam stays a "villain" (even if he's not the main villain he kind of is a villain, atm) i think that would just like... ruin the first book entirely?? he needs redemption or otherwise the first book loses all of its value bc why would anyone want to reread it knowing that tam turns out to be terrible, and then stays terrible? but i don't think sjm is gonna let him live because i mean. the title literally is a court of wings and ruin so obviously some people are going to have to die or else that would be kind of a dumb name. like actually if no one dies in this book i'm gonna be MAD. and tam seems pretty expendable compared to some other characters so if sjm wants to kill someone off to make the last book hella dramatic, but also not kill anyone too loved, who better than tam? anyway that's my two cents but really if she doesn't redeem tam i'm gonna be mad

yeah I saw that theory from another YouTuber and I really do think that's going to happen. I also feel like Azriel is going to die after he and Mor finally admit their feelings together, which would be pulling a bit of a Leigh Bardugo but I don't mind. In any case, I'm overly excited to see what the hell is going to happen. also people are saying that Feyre is going to destroy the Spring Court and I'm just sitting here like... no???? She won't???? She still has that human heart. Killing that fae Under the Mountain completely broke her and she wouldn't ever dare harm another innocent. For how she'll treat the Court of Nightmares in the future, though... I have no low expectations for that. But I do thin she'll let Mor dole out her own punishment before she acts upon them; Mor truly deserves that. I really want a Mor novella to know everything that happened with her father and then see her side of the story of how Rhys dealt with knowing what he knows about Feyre before ACOMAF(trying not to completely spoil things).
