Michiko noted the trait, and she prayed it wouldn't become his hamartia later on in life. Now that he was acting like a respectful human, well weapon being, she was actually kind of growing a tolerance for his slightly prideful, but nurturing nature. She still frowned, however, as she pondered just what kind of test her Uncle Death had planned for the duo. Knowing him, it was either ridiculous or serious enough to get them killed; there was never any inbetween, and it was giving her a tension head ache just thinking about it. She shifted her focus away from her enigmatic uncle and back to her new partner. She responded to his apology with her own- her cheeks growing red as she managed to choke out in a flustered tone, "Oh no, it isn't your fault he didn't tell. Thank you for testing my resolve for him. I'm glad I passed... I'm sorry I'm such a weakling.." She trailed off, loosing her confidence again as she slipped back into her normal silent state and eyeing the floor so it didn't trip her. That floor hated her, and it stumped her much more than she would like to admit.

"I never said you passed Michiko." Sora said with a serious tone, staring her straight in her eyes. After a short pause a smile appeared on his face. "I'm joking, you're good kiddo." He said chuckling softly. I may have been joking earlier but she really does need to have a little bit more faith in herself. The young man thought to himself. "Chin up Michi, you're my Meister, you aren't allowed to act weak. For as long as I am your weapon you will never be weak." He whispered as the Shinigami Death addressed the crowd. "Speaking of, do you have any idea what your Uncle, Lord Death, has in store for us? I'm not nervous, but I feel like I should be... he is Death after all." Sora continued, his ears perked as he listened to Death speak.

Michiko felt her heart stop cold when he looked her in the eyes; she didn't know how much more resolve she could muster in one day. But at his smile, her heart skipped a beat in relief. He's joking. She realized as she released the breath that she didn't realize she was holding. At his next statement, she grew more flustered, looking down while trying to be confident. She raised up she shoulders slightly, still unavble to meet his gaze. "Right!" She said, offering a small smile before sweat dropping and returning to her normal wilted flower pose. "I'll try, anyway. I'm glad to have a strong partner like you; I'm excited to see you weapon form." She managed to look into his eyes for a split second to show her sincerity before her heart rate picked up, and she looked down, embarrassed. "Uncle doesn't tell me much about missions. He says, "They're top secret," She impersonated him, rolling her eyes a bit before she could stop herself. She grinned a bit, adding. "You ought to be scared, but you're my partner, so even if I'm weak, I'll do my best to protect you." She seemed to start at her own courageous words, and she bit her lip. "Or something like that. Oh, look, he's speaking!" She hurriedly threw the attention away from her sudden outburst of personality and onto her "uncle" who was giving the most cheesy welcome address ever.
"I hope to see you all bloom. Now please, go out and make me lots of death scythes, and remember that your strength lies in the resonance you have with your partner. Classes being at 8 am sharp tomorrow, so please don't be late, or I will have to death-chop you! Use the rest of the day to get acquainted; although you just met, you will need a bond to get through day one. Best of luck, young ones." He said with a goofy smile before striding off stage.

Sora looked wide eyed at the man, well Shinigami, he admired most. Death... to be his death scythe... it would be an honor. The young man thought, bringing a smile to his face. Like all the others, he clapped as he strutted off the stage. He followed Death with his eyes until he went backstage, his gaze lingering where the Shinigami disappeared but only briefly. His eyes snapped back to the girl in the purple kimono a smile on his face once again. "Let's go, Michiko." He said, grabbing the girls wrist and running outside as fast as he could. He didn't turn around until he pushed open a door, whizzing past most of the other groups. "Time to show you what I'm made of, Michiko." He said a confident grin on his face. He finally stopped at a patch of grass surrounded by all of the other Meister's and their new partners. "Alright so... do you wanna say something cool before I change?" Sora questioned, anxious to show her his true form.

Michiko looked deeper into the ground if that was even possible. "That kind of thing, even if you say that.." She mumbled, trailing off as she listened to his scolding, flinching from the angry look in his eyes. OF course she wanted to get good- she wanted to become the best, and yet she wondered if she honestly had the skill to. Then again, if she moped around her whole life she was going to get nowhere fast. Deciding to take Sora's advice, she looked him in the eyes and said simply. "I'll do my best, so please be patient with me. I'm sorry that I'm weak now, but I promise I'll train hard and become strong" She offered him a shy smile. "So, my uncle said that we would need a strong resonance to become a good pair. Maybe we should practice? I don't want to fail on the first day!" She exclaimed, looking determined. She shivered at the thought of letting down Lord Death so soon....It would not be a pretty scene.

Michiko felt her cheeks heat up when he winked at her. You better not let me down, Michi. Geez, no pressure there, though she doubted that she could let him down if she tried her best. Sora was indeed growing on her; his friendly nature a nice change from the solitude and high standards she had held herself to for years. Growing up at the "niece" of Lord Death meant that people had had lots of expectations of her, and when she failed to live up to one, she had always beaten herself up over it. But now, she was a beginning just like every one else, and she could make her own path and not follow one carved out by her family name. Looking around, Michiko analyzed the souls of those around them- a talent she had learned after the surprise attack that took her parents from her. Looking at Sora, she saw the his soul was a beautiful gold color- as if it were liquid sunshine. Smiling to herself, she couldn't help but feel lucky that she had gotten such a wonderful partner. And then the cafe was in sight, and you could have offered her all the witch souls in the world, and she would have turned them down. With a small squeak of excitement, she dragged her partner in the by arm as the waitress offered them a table. After order a water and a bread bowl of potato soup for herself, she turned to look at Sora again, wondering what her new friend would order. One could tell a lot about a person alone from what they ate.

Sora's soft whistling was abruptly ended as his partner grabbed his arm, running towards a cafe. "I'm gonna assume this is the place you were talking about before!" He chuckled softly, taken aback by the teen's sudden change in mood. He ran with her, deciding it would be a lot easier than having her drag him along on his heels, and opened the door for Michiko, running in behind her to keep up with the excited Meister. He sat down across from the teen, and he picked up the menu in front of him, immediately overwhelmed by the vast selections he had to choose from. He frantically searched for something that appeased him while she ordered her food, and he almost didn't hear when the waitress asked what he wanted. "Oh well uh... I'll have a water I know that and uh... I guess I'll just have what she's having... sorry it's my first time here." He replied, muttering the last bit. He looked around at the restaurant, content with the atmosphere encompassing him. "I trust you got something good Michi." Sora said with a wink as the waitress walked away. "Otherwise... you'll have to pay!" He said jokingly. "But hey, this a cute little place." The word cute sounded foreign coming from the death weapon's mouth, almost as if it was alien to him, well him being a death weapon and all, Sora could probably count on two hands the amount of times he's said cute in his lifetime.

Michiko smiled at him- utter confidence in her eyes as she nodded vigorously. "It'll be good, I promise. It's potato soup inside of an edible bread bowl, and next to the chocolate cake and icecream they have here, it is the best food in the whole wide world." Her eyes gleamed a bit as she talked about the food. Michi wasn't confident about much in her life, but if she knew her way around anything it was food-and occasionally all the homework assigned in class that wasn't math. She blinked as if suddenly remembering something important. "Oh yeah, thank you for holding the door open for me earlier! Sorry, I was in such a rush that I forget to say thank you. I'll make it up to you by buying desert, okay?" She bowed her head for a moment in a sign of apology before looking down at the table with a blush. She thought she was going to die of embarrassment in the silent moment that followed, and she was thankful that he was suddenly talking again- giving the conversation a new direction other than her social curtesy mishap. "Yeah, it is pretty cute, isn't it? I love all the bows." She mumbled, gently touching the purple bow on her choker as she looked around the room with a smile on her face. Michiko had a weak spot for cute things, and the cafe was no exception. It was full of flowers and bows, giving it an elegant garden look. "Sorry for dragging you here. I guess it is a bit girly, but I promise that the food will more than make up for it." Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked at the cat that was pawing through the flowers on the other side of the restaurant, suddenly distracted as her eyes widened slightly. "Aww, look at the kitten.." She murmured, her eyes soft as she observed the innocent creature.

"Well I'll take your word for it haha, you must come here a lot." Sora said with a smile. The young man, with an absent mind, started off at an ornate decoration on the far wall behind Michiko before here voice brought him back to reality. "Hm? Oh yeah the door, no problem. And you don't have to pay for dessert, I don't mind." He replied with a small shrug. Sora continued to look around the cafe, enjoying the sights, but he wasn't going to tell anyone that. The young man noticed as she played with her choker and stared around that she must really like the place. She must be really into bows... He observed. His ears perked up at the tone of her voice, it was relatively unexpected, and he followed her gaze to the small feline in front of them. He had never had a huge liking for house pets, cats and dogs alike, but he didn't mind petting other peoples animals. He chuckled softly as the kitten played with the flowers, rolling over on its back and flinging dirt on it's belly and paws. It didn't take long for the server to bring the pair their waters, and Sora chugged it thirstily. He set the half empty glass down with a soft thud, exhaling happily. "I was parched! There wasn't much for refreshments at the meeting this morning and I'm not a huge fan of coffee or soda so I just kind of wandered around and then I saw you. 'Purple hair, glasses, and most definitely cowering in a corner.' That's the description Lord Death gave me and I just knew it had to be you." Sora said with a smile.

(Thanks ) Michiko sipped her water- keeping both hands on the glass and using the bendy straw for all it was worth. She rolled her eyes and squeaked. a bit in embarrassment. "He said that? Oh man, what kind of reputation do I have exactly?" She whined, pushing her head into her palms. after setting the water on the table. She looked up and asked, honesty shining in her eyes. "Am I really that bad?" She dropped her eyes to the kitten again, looking a bit sad. "Oh, well. I guess I just have to fix that reputation!" She looked up, determined. "Sora, lets become the greatest team that had ever gone through the DWMA." Her hands tightened around her napkin as she looked into his eyes. "Please, teach me to have confidence." She requested a bit shyly. She felt a little a little annoyed that she was characterized so timidly, although it was completely true. Maybe Sora would rub off on her in confidence?

Sora chuckled softly at his partners request. "... Michiko, there aren't many things I can teach you. To ride a bike, yes. To carve something with a knife, sure. But to teach you confidence? I can't do that. Believe me I would if I could, but that is entirely in your department, if you want to be confident that's up to you." He said, his eyes seemed to trap hers, seeming as if they didn't want her gaze to falter. "As far as being the best team at DWMA! Well well, we already are! No one can stand a chance against us!" The young man continued, his voice laced and oozing with self worth. The waitress soon stopped by with their meals, handing each of them a potato soup bread bowl. "Enough with the whole Meister, and Death, and DWMA thing let's focus on the task at hand and that is... to eat!" Sora said with a smile, then grabbed his fork and taking a big bite of the soup. His mouth was on fire and he chewed it quickly washing it down with some water. "It's delicious but I think I should blow on it a little bit, it's quite hot." He laughed.
