"That is enough!"
Lady Akiko's caterwaul was enough to silence the heated argument among the warlords, and even they were shocked at the normally calm female's wrathful shout. "This is meant to be a night of truce," she called, with an air of superiority and dominance that was not at all forced. "And here, the gods have expressed their disapproval with a rare harvest moon. Something dangerous is coming for us, but we don't know what, exactly. Keep your eyes open, your defenses up, and your senses alert."
She turned to the other leaders, that red glow on her fur making her look sinister. Her ice-cold gaze did nothing to help.

Long time no see, Art Forum!
That's right, Moon is finally (trying) to get back to posting her art regularly, like she did back on WCF. I can't make any promises about my art activity, as my motivation to draw isn't as high as it used to be back then. But maybe I'll start posting more; we'll see!
Anywho, this piece is actually a scene from my roleplay, SakuraClan, which you might have seen around a few times. shameless advertising *cough*
The posing angle is odd, which is why her forelegs are so long. I'm practicing my foreshortening skills, but they're still rusty, so just bear that in mind. I've worked pretty much the whole day on this, although I'm late to recognize mistakes. Constructive criticism would be much appreciated. c:

Is that a we are number one quote in your status..?
Its great to see more art from you! I'll try my best to give some helpful criticism.
First off, I really like the background. The flower is well drawn too, and it's pretty. The expression of the character and style is also great, and the angle and position of the character, along with the red hue, really adds to the atmosphere and mood of the drawing. Overall, it is an interesting picture, and it's pleasing to look at it.
However, there is some problems I have found with it. For one, the eye on the right is a bit crooked compared to the other. Also, I think that the flower on the side of Lady Akiko's head looks a bit weird and almost out of place. I think this is because there is no shading on it, while the rest of the character has shading. The main problem is with the legs... The line art of the leg seems to bend in weird places, and I'm not quite sure if it is just something to do with the foreshortening..? Foreshortening is something that's really hard to get good at, so I like how your practising with it. But normally, objects appear bigger as they get closer, not smaller. And it is true that they are a bit long, even from that angle.
I hoped this helped in some way. I really like this, it's interesting and looking at it actually makes me want to know more about the story, and that's something that's hard to achieve sometimes. The atmosphere and tone is great.

Hm! Thank you for the critique. I think you're right about her flower; I thought leaving it plain would suffice, but I think it's distracting... in a bland way. A friendly reminder to not be lazyTM and color stuff in, haha! Now that I look at it, her eye is slanted a bit too much. Maybe it was because I intentionally mirrored her right eye and tilted it as I was drawing. She's supposed to have almond-shaped eyes, but I'll have to try not to overdo it nect time.
Yes, the long legs are bothering me so much. I've succeeded at perspective and foreshortening a few times, but I drew this on my phone, so it's a bit wonky. I was attempting to make her legs flare out just a bit at the end to look a bit larger but I goofed. I'll keep that in mind next time!
Oh, wow, it's my first time hearing that! I'll have to draw some more SC artwork, then!
Thank you, lemon. c:
