Aurinda smiled and rose to her feet, she nodded to Katherine quietly, "If you'd like to show me, then I see no reason for you not to." she told her simply in return. Then she tugged her hair back into a loose braid, her jay feather tucked in as well. At the inquiry about being able to ride, Aurinda actually blinked and rubbed the back of her neck, "I'm not supposed to know how, but I've watched the Elites training and have actually read a few books." she smiled and nodded gently to Katherine, "I do believe I could learn quickly enough given the opportunity to actually ride a horse." she finished before glancing over Katherine a moment. "Would you like to change from your gown? It seems rather warm, and given our climate, I wouldn't want you overheating while riding a horse." Aurinda nodded gently and folded her hands before her, regaining the calm and collected nature one would expect and normally see from her, though her smile still sitting on her lips. 'I brought my riding gear.' Katherine replied, already moving to her bag of brought items from home. She unbuckled the back and tugged out the jodhpurs, jerkin and boots, and changed quickly, her back to Aurinda so she wouldn't see her face, then replaced her scarf and walked over, looking much more relaxed. 'Let's be off then.' She said happily, heading out and swiftly and easily avoiding the different guards they would pass by. She seemed a little too skilled at this, as if she'd been quite the troublemaker whilst at home. As an only child, with a single mother, Katherine had been very lonely due to her mother constantly busy with the kingdom. She'd taken up sneaking out of the castle to ride at all hours of the day, and so she was rather good at it.

Corven was in a bad situation. He'd gotten into a fight with another werewolf, and they'd rather promptly attempted to gut him. He was now laying on his back under the roots of an ancient tree, his stomach opened and bad wounds covering his body. He could scent the stench of festering flesh and infection in his stomach and knew he wasn't going to last much longer, however the pain was simply too much for him to be able to move. He weakly grasped about with his hand, wondering if he could find anything to help him, but came up only with the dried grass of the forest, and a few purple flowers. He sighed weakly and gazed with glazed eyes towards the sky; he was barely conscious, was seeing things spotting across his vision, and was delirious. He gave himself a few hours more of life max, and settled down to die and contemplate on the miserable life he'd led up to this moment. "milk thistle, milk thistle, milk thistle," Illiana reminded herself silently. She usually wrote a list down, but since it was only one item she didn't want to waste the paper -- lest she have to travel to a town and buy more. The mere thought of them sent her instinctively reaching for her hood, and she pulled the thick blue linen shroud over her head, till all you could see was the bottom of her lips and chin. Perhaps she had a sixth sense -- one that could just tell when she would need that hood, because right after that she'd pulled it up she heard the ruffles too big to be an animal like a fox or jackel, but too small to be a bear. That only left one kind of animal left -- people. She pulled herself even further into her hood and stuck to shadowed trees until she could get a good look at whoever or whatever it was. She saw it was on the ground, but before she saw anything else -- whether it was man or woman, she smelt the faint tinge of infected flesh. She ran to it like a fish to water, instantly fumbling around in her bag for her tincture and dabbing it onto a some moss she grabbed from the forest floor. "Milk thistle..." she said, eyeing the purple flowers as she dabbed the stomach gash. "What's your name?" He released a soft noise of pain and slowly opened his eyes, his breathing picking up as panic immediately grasped at him; a person, at his wound. What were they doing? Was he safe? Was he in more danger than before? When she spoke, he strained to try and move away, trying to roll and drag himself away from the figure, terrified. He hadn't minded dying before, but now that a threat had emerged he very suddenly preferred living.

Aiden looked at him. "You have no plans at all to marry? No one you like at all?" Aiden smirked slightly, knowing that if Morcan lied, he'd know about it. "Surely there is someone." 'No-one.' Morcan calmly responded, for once there being no tell-tale sign that he was lying at all; only stone cold truth. Nobody that you need know about, brother. As long as she wishes to keep us quiet, we will remain that way. Her honour is more important than anything. He glanced sideways at him. 'Your marriage is currently the problem, not mine. I suggest you start brushing up on your manners and figure out what she might like, and what you may be able to do with her in order to bond at least a little.' "Hm..." Aiden blinked slowly at Morcan's answer, then shrugged to dismiss the subject. As for his marriage; why did it always come back to that...?, he let out a long, frustrated sigh. "I have a list of Oceanian foods that she may like. As for bonding...I don't even know anything about her!" He let his head drop back, closing his eyes. "Do you have any ideas...?"

Aurinda nodded and watched Katherine tug each item from her bag. Her eyes lowered to the ground as she changed and once ready, Aurinda smiled and laughed gently, "I think that suits you better anyway." she told her with a smile. As they dipped out of the room and into the corridors, Aurinda was rather impressed and surprised with the skill at which the young princess was able to avoid patrols and guards. It made her enjoy this young lady even more. She was relieved she wasn't a princess of uppity sort of standing. Katherine seemed relaxed, quick-witted, and smarter than the average royalty. "She's going to challenge Aiden, that's for certain" she thought to herself, a smirk crossing her lips at that vision. Marcon and Aiden had had a rough up-bringing and Aurinda understood them, though Aiden was hot-headed and quick to judge. Katherine would push him, and she now had a front row seat to the whole thing.

'Perhaps just sitting and reading together.' Morcan replied. It was mundane, yes, but it was relaxing; he already knew the princess was intelligent and studious, and so this would be a good way to quietly learn to enjoy one another's company. 'Perhaps you both can assign a time to meet in the drawing room on a night before bed; start inviting her to our family dinners, and then perhaps you will both benefit from riding together.' He looked over at him. 'Buy her gifts, lavish her. She is yours to cherish and spoil as you wish.' He grinned widely. 'You have a wonderful, wonderful woman, Aiden- you can give her everything. treat her like you would your kingdom, because she is its future and more.' Varezi may be a Patriarchal society, but damn did the men look after their women. Half of the reason the women weren't allowed to fight, use their Element powers, learn magic, nor go into the more physically labouring professions was due to the overwhelming social expectations and traditions of the men being the providers and protectors of the women. The women were expected to carry the future of Varezi within their wombs, care for their husbands and, of course, entertain- whether through dance, their voices or their bodies. Morcan stretched, then stood. 'I have drills with my men.' He said, heading to the doors. 'I'll see you tomorrow; I'm sleeping in the elite barracks tonight.'

Aiden rubbed his chin as he took in what Morcan had said. "I shall try that." He said, nodding slowly, before watching him leave. "And you always sleep in the barracks." He snorted quietly, before continuing to tease him. "Its a reason to celebrate when you actually use your room. I'm sure I have a bottle of our finest for the next time you use your room."

Was he in more danger than before? When she spoke, he strained to try and move away, trying to roll and drag himself away from the figure, terrified. He hadn't minded dying before, but now that a threat had emerged he very suddenly preferred living. Rustling was new. Usually, people who were injured were grateful for help but as soon as she looked up and saw his eyes she couldn't blame him for being suspicious. She pulled her hand back slowly, out of respect, and a little fear. She didn't say anything for a while -- just looked at him, the mass of black hair, like wool -- braided back. He looked strong, and healthy. He would survive...if she could help him. Illiana preferred silence to unnecessarily speech. She'd never been one to believe 'it's okay!! you're safe!!' loudly over and over again by a stranger. Especially since she had grown wild. But eventually the time came when she needed to know, and she needed to get him to trust her. Either that, or she'd see him die, and while she didn't adore people, she did like to do some good in the world. Perhaps the gods would show her favour if she healed people, even werewolves. "What's your name, wolf?" she repeated, calm, but respectful too. ((Sorry it's short. I promise my para lengths will vary. And why'd he yell at you?)) [[Oft that's fine, I actually prefer it because it means I can do it to (so I can make the RP move faster at times) and ehh...well this is going to sound bad. So I was flipping boiling right, so I decided to come downstairs in mini shorts (no one is around), a t-shirt and a dressing gown. These are really mini-shorts. Mini-shorts that look like pants, basically. So I'm sitting here with my laptop on my mini shorts and my brother comes in thinking the laptop is strategically placed to hide my delicacies, so then he yells at me to go and wear underwear and then yells at me for not wearing trousers, even though they technically are mini-shorts]]

One one side it led the way out to the barracks; on the other was the stables. Katherine headed there, sliding inside and breathing in the familiar and comforting scent of hay and the musky scent of horse. She heard snorting and grinned, heading down. The Varezian horses were thinner, and leaner than the wild beauties of Oceana. This was due to the climate. She reached his stable and walked in, clipping on his head collar, then drew him out to show him off. He was at least 18 hands tall to the shoulder; he was thick muscle and massive hooves, his sleek neck a beautiful and powerful arch. He had a pure-black coat with an even darker black mane, which hung long to his shoulders. One single white streak striped from his forehead to his nose- an obsidian black horn, coiled and pointed, protruded from the centre of the white mark. His wings were Raven-feathered, irridescent green and purple in the changing light. A truly gorgeous stallion. 'This is Atlas. Atlas, say hello to Aurinda.' The Alicorn was a sentient breed- they understood, but could not speak. He slowly bowed his head and one of his legs, out stretching the other in a real bow. He straightened after a few seconds and snorted impatiently at Katherine, who nodded and began to skilfully tack him up. 'You can ride behind me if you wish.' She said, wrapping the straps under his wings and around his belly.

He jested, before heading out and down into the courtyard, then to the barracks, where he was loudly welcomed with slaps on the back and punches on the arm. Man, he loved his little family here.

Aurinda followed Katherine and dipped into the stables as well, her eyes instinctively flicking towards the Elites barracks just in case she could spot Ulfrich. Though she looked back ahead and as they walked past the stables, Aurinda smiled and looked over the horses, she'd actually never been this close to them on her own, well without one of the men in the court with her. As Katherine pulled Atlas from his stall her eyes widened and she beamed, "He's beautiful!" she chimed though quickly bowed in greeting, "Hello Atlas." she greeted happily. Then, she stepped back to watch Katherine work, marvelling at how adept and quick she was with the process. "Behind you? On Atlas?" she questioned with a blinked and a light arch of her brow in questioning.

Corven hesitated as she spoke again and retracted her hand; through his delirium, he realised what she'd said, and dazedly managed to look in her direction, finally stopping his escape attempt. 'Corven,' he croaked, his voice broken and sounding dry, as though he hadn't had a drink for days- which he probably hadn't. He lay back again, his attempt haven exhausted him, which was really stupid now that he thought about it. should have saved my strength.

You'll fall off.' She finished with the saddle and removed his headcollar to replace it with reins. She then moved around and backed up beside the maiden, before running forwards, wrapping her arms around his neck to change her momentum, and lithely swung herself up and into the saddle, grinning. She shuffled backwards, the simply size of the horse leaving plenty of room for the maiden. 'Give me your hand, I'll pull you up; try not to pull out any of his feathers, he'll nip you.' Katherine said gently, and encouragingly, wanting the woman to enjoy her first ride on the stallion.

Aurinda blinked and then nodded. "She's right, that was rather foolish..." Then she watched Katherine easily leap and swing herself up onto Atlas and smiled at the whole show of it. "You impress me Katherine." she told her lightly as she stepped forward and took Katherine's hand to tug herself up onto Atlas. She minded his feathers closely and settled herself onto his back and into the saddle. She adjusted herself a bit and tugged her pants into place and then nodded, "I'm ready to go when you are." she told Katherine as she looked ahead, beyond Atlas' horn and out towards the yard ahead of them. Her hands gripped the edge of the saddle tightly and she felt her heart race a bit, this was certainly going to be interesting.

Aiden snorted and cursed at his brother in Varezian before he left, before he slowly looked around the throne room. He sighed softly, before clearing his table quickly and setting it all aside, before he left the room himself, heading up to his bedroom.
Ulfric sat in the corner of the barracks, grinning as Morcan came in. He stood and went over to him, smirking. "Want a drink?" He asked, before looking back at him. "Katherine dismissed me, by the way. Not sure what you would have said if I had come back to you and Aiden."

It wasn't slow however, as his strides were long and purposeful, the gentle bob of his head and sway of his body relaxing to the princess. 'Alright Atlas,' she said, her arms wrapping over Aurinda's waist so she could hold the reins and lead, 'let's head down to the beach and check out this black sand.' He nodded his assent and began to lightly canter, not trot- trotting took some getting used to! Katherine grinned happily as they rode, finally in her element, and where she belonged.

She shook her head slightly, then continued to dab the wound. Why was he here? She knew it was probably thanks to the cities, shunning the wolves. They were fierce, and frightening when in their bestial form but while beasts were meant for the forest, people were made for the towns and the wolves were both. They deserved to have their place in the people, for she knew what it felt like to be shunned as well. She shared that with the wolves -- the fact they were both forced to make their home in the woods. She rustled in a fraction of an inch closer, to get a better look at the wound. A large, clawish slice, cut out of his mid section. It would take more than a tincture to repair this -- she would need to prepare for magic. She took out a different container, a little pot this time. She untied the twine on top to reveal a murky green salve. "I must put this on you, so I can put magic on you. Do you agree that I can do this?" she asked.

Aurinda smiled as they began to walk out of the barn and then as Atlas sped up a bit, she laughed a little. The soft breeze from their speed was enjoyable and the easy movements of Atlas' body made her feel at ease. Her eyes moved across the castle as they moved out of the courtyard and down towards the beaches just below. She felt herself relax a bit more as her body got into the rhythm of Atlas' and a sigh escaped her lips.

He curiously examined her, but at this point it was very evident he wasn't exactly making any conscious consensual decisions. 'Sure?'
