One of the characters in my book is aromantic but not asexual, she's one of the "sky pirate lesbians" i keep talking about so much, Gwenivere. The other one is Adeline who is bi. Essentially their relationship is purely friends with benefits. Adeline had had a husband who couldn't support her anymore and was indebted to a royal house for servitude and Adeline joined in Gwenivere's crew in an effort to keep their land. Gwen took a liking to her and made her the second in command and tends to spoil Adeline with bonus money and gifts and such that she uses to pay for the land and bought her husband out of the service. But he learned the nature of their relationship and disapproved of the piracy so they separated but he still lives on the land and works at a dock, so their agreement became that he could live in the house as long as he continued to help them smuggle goods and because he didn't want to be indebted to the royal family again because they were kind of cruel he agreed. There's a point in time where they see each other face to face again and spend a night together and Gwenivere kind of just turns the other way about it because she knows she's aro but they still have feelings for each other.

I plan on including many different types of sexualities in my own stories. I already have one who's ace, one who's gay, and another who's bisexual. I even want to include a polyamorous relationship somewhere down the line as well.

Noire, Dreahk, Night of Storms, Gabriel, Rin, Greta, Cassibar, Kine, Gwenivere, Adeline, and others that show up or are relevant in a semi frequent basis.

So, I mentioned earlier that I don't know what or who my spirit guide is, but I do feel a close connection to the wolf. I've even taken quizzes just for fun, and my results have often been wolf, though I did get turtle and owl a few times. XD
Seriously though, could my feeling a connection to wolves mean anything? And how did you guys encounter your spirit guides, if at all? I've already tried meditation. Nothing. ^^"

I personally do not have a spirit guide or familiar, whichever you'd want to call it, only a spirit animal/totem. Though sometimes I feel like cats are another one of mine alongside the phoenix. Sometimes you can have more than one guide/spirit/totem/familiar animals you connect with.

Is there any way to know for sure, though?

The way I know of getting closer to one is noticing one and trying to communicate, they usually try and come to a receptive mind. The bond grows stronger the longer you know one. As for how I encountered mine... I kept seeing an undefined shadow out of the corner of my eye. I got very tired of it turning up so often and finally just mentally reached out to it to see what it was. It gained a shape after that and has been around for 3-4 years. My spirit guide doesn't have a defined shape, but often takes the form of a black cat, boy with black hair, or undefined shadow. I've felt connected to cats and wolves for a long time.

I want to try finding my spirit guide but the problem with having ADHD is that my mind almost never rests, so even just normal meditation alone is difficult ;~;

Ways I know of getting in contact with a spirit guide is, as Dingo stated, meditation. Mine was through wanting to actually make contact, usually after already having noticed that something was happening. Another is dreams, perhaps having a inherent kinship to a certain animal? Try different things and be inventive.

Dingoleap and/or mintedstar/fur🦇I might get The Raven Boys next month since I'm planning on getting Darkness of Dragons when it comes out anyway, but I'm wondering, does the series feature any typical YA tropes, like love triangles, bratty teens who never develop, love at first sight, etc...? I know nothing is original these days, but it does get tiring from time to time reading about these things.

@.@ It's been so long since I read it...
Uh, from what I remember, it held a lot of original themes to begin with (??) Honestly, ask Dingo. xD I just got the first book from the library today and I'm going to start rereading it.

There are no love triangles and the characters are all very unique and well developed - the author is fantastic at giving equal 'screen time' to all her characters. No love at first sight, either. I can't really say anything else without spoiling it ^_^'

And how accurate would you say it is to paganism/witchcraft?

The first book primarily focuses on Blue and Gansey's perspectives, but the second book focuses on Ronan and Adam quite a bit. Even some secondary characters get perspective chapters. I'm gonna say it's pretty accurate, considering the author has done tarot readings for a while now, but as someone who has never really practiced with tarot cards (or ley lines for that matter) I feel like I can't really make an effective judgement.
