Annie frowned as her friends disappeared into the crowd, it was confusing because Kayla didn't like Carlos. Oh well that wasn't her problem at the moment. Right now she was interested in the really tall boy in front of her. A wide grin seemed to spread across her face at the mention of her red hair. Giggling before she saw the girl standing on a table with six inch heels, six inches. But instead of doing anything she just watched Niq as he put the girl on the ground with a smile, that seemed really nice of him. Without much thought Annie quickly walked to his side with a large, bubbly smile. "You know I have a friend I think you should meet!" She informed him, doing her best to be heard over all the noise.

As Niq got the girl situated, he turned back towards Annie, "Do you now?" He chuckled, smiling back at her. She was so loud and outgoing that he started to wonder how Isolde was even friends with this girl. Introverts and Extroverts make great pairs he guessed, glancing around the house as more and more people came through. "Will you even be able to find her in this mayhem?" He questioned loud enough for Annie to hear. Mayhem was a good word choice as well, because the frat house was probably the craziest it'd been all year. New Years Eve was always the biggest party, so he wasn't exactly surprised. Niq also helped throw this party, which normally meant it'd be the party of the year.

Annie nodded, her smile seemed to be impossible to dim. This guy was kind of cute in her opinion with his rough look and he didn't seem too unfriendly, plus he wasn't obnoxious. "Oh I can find her easy! Just give me a second." She almost shouted though the noise. The environment only seemed to be fueling her personality. Within the next five seconds she climbed up onto the very same table the over girl had been on -still in heels mind you- and managed to balance herself then cupping her hands over her mouth and beginning to loudly sing in German. This went on for a few seconds before she saw her friends rushing through the mess of people to get to the table.
Upon reaching the table Isolde passed a drink she seemed to have acquired to Kayla then grabbed Annie by the arm and started to pull her to the edge of the table. Then the bubbly redhead jumped right off of the table in front of her friends who looked annoyed. "What were you doing up there?" Isolde demanded, her friend could have fallen and broken something. "We agreed that you wouldn't climb on any tables and you haven't even had a drink yet... Wait did you have a drink?" Pausing to look at Annie who shook her head with a massive grin. "I was trying to get your attention!" The friend explained before going back over to Niq with her buddies in tow. "See this is tall boy, tall boy this is Isolde. Now you guys can talk." She introduced loudly before looking back at Isolde. "Can I have you jacket?" Isolde rolled her eyes as she took off her leather jacket and passed it to her tiny friend who slipped it on and disappeared into the crowd, then took her drink from Kayla. Leaving her in two inch heels, dark blue skinny jeans, a glittery green and silver tank top with a drink in her hand and approximately zero friends as they both ran off leaving her alone with Niq. They could have at least stuck around to make things less awkward, but no. "Uh, hey." She greeted awkwardly.

( sorry i suddenly poofed! I had to prep some meals )
Niq smirked at Annie's sureness. As she got on the table, his eyes widened, hoping there wouldn't be a disaster in the next few seconds. His eyebrow quirked when she started singing in another language. German? He wondered, laughing at the oddity. Once he realized who Annie was calling over he felt a sense of excitement. He had wanted to talk to Isolde since their small talk at the library. When she awkwardly greeted the giant, it was clear that Niq was completely oblivious to awkward moments. This generally caused awkward individuals to flock to him. He smiled at her, "Different environment for you, I assume." He spoke loudly enough for just her ears. Niq didn't really pay attention to anyone else, his eyes only focused on hers. He could sense some envious stares towards Isolde, but it didn't seem to bother him. He hoped it wouldn't bother her, after all, they were envious of who she was talking to.

( It's totally fine! c: )
Isolde took a sip of her drink and nodded, nothing about this environment was normal. "Yep, if it wasn't for those two buffoons I'd be binge watching a TV show." She admitted, struggling to remain loud enough for him to hear. Being a quiet person shouting wasn't normal either. Happening to notice some of the looks she was getting Isolde glanced out the corner of her eyes with the tiniest of smirks. "So... You party often?" She asked trying to be casual while everyone around them seemed to be shouting, dancing poorly or drinking more then they should.

Niq chuckled, acknowledging one of her hobbies; avid Netflix watcher. That's something he'd rather be doing if he was being completely honest to himself. He rubbed his chin as he thought about her question, "Yeah...I guess you can say that. Most of the time I don't really drink or anything. I'm generally the party planner, like tonight." He gave a shrug, thinking about the last few parties he's been to. The last time he remembered getting wasted was the night before he met Isolde for the first time, which was probably a few weeks ago now. "Any New Year's resolutions?" He smirked, catching her gaze.

"So you planned this?" Isolde asked, catching herself before she could call it a mess. She wan't one to drink unless it was an occasion such as welcoming the New Year with her vanishing friends. It was like her partying, there needed to be a reason or it wasn't going to happen. "Oh resolutions? Jeez, well watching less Netflix and going to the gym more for one." She answered with a small smile, she really did watch a lot of Netflix if she didn't need to be busy. "What about you?"

"Yeah, it's mayhem right? But all the partiers here are gonna call it the party of the year, bet on it." Niq smirked, glancing around momentarily. He listened to what Isolde had to say about resolutions, chuckling softly, "Those are pretty general," He teased, his green eyes bright with excitement, "As for me, I don't really like to make them. I always seem to go with the flow." Niq made a little hand movement as he said flow. He was so goofy, and never held it in. As they stood and talked he wondered if asking her to go to a quieter area was too far fetched. He didn't want Isolde getting the wrong message, especially with a reputation and an ego as big as his.

Isolde nodded awkwardly in response, mayhem definitely described the state of this party. Her smile widening at his reply to resolutions, that seemed better then what she was doing since it wouldn't likely happen. She could absolutely go to the gym but less Netflix... Nah it wasn't going to happen. Flinching when a group beside them all seemed to scream in unison. Why did people have to be so loud? Covering on of her ears to block out some of the noise. "Hey do you mind if we move away from here? It's kind of loud." She requested loudly trying to avoid getting drowned out by the group.
( Okay! )

Niq smiled and nodded, holding out his hand for her to take. He almost didn't expect her to take it, but he wanted it just in case he lost her in this mess of a party, "Just in case you get lost." He assured her, watching her expression to see if she'd do it. He planned on taking her to an open, empty area. Niq wanted to make sure she'd be comfortable wherever they went, because even though he was oblivious to awkward moments, he always could tell when someone was incredibly uncomfortable.

Isolde looked down at his hand for a couple seconds before gently taking it with her own pale hand that was smaller then Niq's. "Not a bad idea." She commented with a shrug. The sooner they could get away from this group the better or else her eardrums might just explode from the noise as someone nearby turned up the music so the floor was practically vibrating beneath them. Everyone also had to talk louder so they could hear one another over the increased noise.

Niq smiled and lead her through the house. He knew the frat house by heart because his buddies that lived here made him come over so much. Besides the guys that lived there, he knew he was the only person who knew that there was a secret room. Luckily, the room wasn't upstairs; again, he wanted anything but to give Isolde the wrong idea. Eventually, they reached the back of the house, and Niq knocked on an odd looking door. After leaning his ear against it to see if anyone was in there, he gently let go of her hand and opened the door. Niq motioned for her to enter, glancing around cautiously. He knew that the frat boys were very protective over their secret room, so he was going to do just that...keep it a secret. "What were we talking about again? New Years Resolutions?" He inquired, wondering if his memory was right.

Isolde did her best to keep up with his large stride in her heels and not be swallowed into the masses of people that seemed to have appeared while they were talking. Her gaze flickering over the frat house in mild interest when she noticed that there was a lot less people there. Once they reached the back of the house she had become cautious once Niq opened the door. Narrowing her eyes before walking inside. Hopefully Niq was actually as nice as he seemed because being alone with a stranger wasn't something she normally did. "Uh, yeah. You were saying that you don't make resolutions?" She recalled.

Niq stepped in after Isolde, making sure to close the door behind him. The room was much larger than you would expect. There were plenty of places to sit, almost as if it was the meeting spot for the guys living in the house. "Ah, yes. I don't think I've ever heard of someone following their resolutions anyway." He chuckled, walking over to another door. It looked as if it would lead to a closet, or a bathroom, but it did the exact opposite. It lead to a secret balcony. "Fresh air?" He questioned. Niq glanced down at his watch to check the time, acknowledging the fact that they had about 30 minutes until midnight, which meant 30 minutes until a "New Years Kiss."

Isolde looked around curiously, it was much larger then she had expected. "Wow." Slipped from her as she followed Niq to door. "Sure whatever," She shrugged. "But of you don't do resolutions is anything else you do?" She asked trying to keep the conversation going even though her attention was all over the place. Her apartment complex certainly had nothing like this which now to think of it was disappointing to say the least. But then again it was a girls only complex, in other words not run by boys. Noticing that he checked his watch she pulled out her phone and did the same, so 30 minutes until the new year then.

Niq looked over at Isolde, considering her question for a few moments, "I like to make goals. Things I know I'll do, but need to achieve it," He spoke softly, leaning against the gate of the balcony, "I feel like that sounds very similar to resolutions, but I don't think they're anywhere near each other," Niq crossed his arms against his chest as he spoke, his attention on Isolde, "It's like your Netflix resolution. 9 times out of 10 that won't happen, but with goals, you'll achieve it if you put your mind to it." He couldn't tell if he was making any sense whatsoever. To him, he understood it, but he barely knew Isolde; she didn't really understand his thought process just yet.

Isolde looked off the balcony and shrugged, that was a interesting way to go about making goals. "Well you know, whatever works for you. That does makes sense though as goals aren't as big and upfront as a resolution say like..." Pausing to figure out a good example, snapping her fingers when she got one. "Saying that you will become a vegan and exercise everyday for two hours from the start of the year until the next year or until you can't do that. But with goals you could just put it into smaller things that work better for you." She went on, realizing that she probably seemed to be rambling the girl stopped talking and shrug again.

Niq smiled as she rambled away, tapping his foot quietly as he looked over at her, "Yeah, all depends on personal opinion." He gave her a nod, understanding all of what she had just went on about, "So are you from here?" He questioned, his eyebrows raising in curiousity. Niq had only moved here a little over a year ago, when his family decided to. He wasn't exactly for the idea, especially since he had his life figured out in his old hometown, which included a girl, a school, and friends. It's not like they mattered that much anymore, even though deep down in Niq's heart he still cared too much about those people. The only reason he moved was for his little sister, who had just turned 12. On her birthday, she realized she was a shapeshifter, and started understanding the world she was now going to live in. Niq stayed in order to teach her the ropes, but he doesn't regret moving. He took it as a sign to start growing up.

Isolde leaned with her back against the railing while furrowing her eyebrows thoughtfully. "Oh no, I just moved here for collage." She admitted with a small smile. Truthfully the only reason she was here was for an education and since her friends had come it seemed like an easy decision to make. Plus it was a chance to really explore what was now her world after highschool. Her own family had moved somewhere else during the summer she left so going home for holidays wasn't exactly the same as it used to be. "What about you? Just the average out of town student or no?" She asked curiously, this was an interesting conversation that she had with few people since trying to get to know her took some effort without Annie or Kayla around.

"Yeah, I moved here a little over a year ago," Niq shrugged, "Wasn't really my plan after high school but me coming out here was best for my family." He admitted, taking a second to realize he had just said that out loud. Ever since he moved here he had never really spoke about why he was attending the college here, or why he was living here in the first place. He was so kept to himself, and he really did it for two reasons. Niq had a huge ego, and generally loved giving girls that "mysterious" vibe, but on the other hand, he hated talking about himself. He always kept everything in, so that he wouldn't let everything spill out. He didn't need anyone knowing what he truly was. Something about Isolde made him want to tell her everything, but he knew better. A feeling didn't change his intelligence. She'd probably think he was crazy.

That caught Isolde attention when he mentioned his family. "So your family lives in the area? That must be nice." She commented, not having seen her own family in awhile since she went home with her friends for Christmas instead but there weren't any hard feelings. Isolde was picking up on a mysterious vibe which only made her curious. She didn't really know him or of him since parties weren't her thing so there was a lot of mysteries around Niq. But she was fairly mysterious in her own ways, seeing as life as a shifter among humans was difficult when they were likely to react badly or think you were completely insane.

Niq could sense a certain sensitivity around the topic of parents, but that didn't stop him from questioning her about it, "Are your parents back in your hometown?" He asked gently, making sure to acknowledge her facial expressions so he wouldn't end up asking the wrong things. As he waited for her response, he took a quick look at his watch...10 minutes had passed since the last time he checked. Right as he looked back up at Isolde, you could hear someone in the house shout out, "TWENTY MINUTES," causing the house to nearly vibrate with the sounds of girly screams and manly yells. "20 minutes," He repeated jokingly, "If you didn't hear that already." Niq smirked, his eyes focused on the stunning girl in front of him.

"Not anymore, everyone just packed up and moved after I left. I've only seen their new place once." Isolde admitted cautiously, she loved her parents and siblings but no one seemed to know how to properly communicate. Looking at the cup in her hand before drinking the rest of the contents, and almost choking on the last of it when everyone in the house seemed to scream or yell which made her laugh; while drinking. Taking a deep breath she nodded. "Yeah I heard." She replied giving a thumbs up while trying to ignore the background noise that seemed to start back up after the screaming.

Niq laughed, "2017, the year we've all been waiting for." He smirked, deciding to turn around so he faced the rail. You could see the stars clear as day, "Laying down while watching the stars would be great way to enter the year." He almost mumbled, watching the sky as he spoke. His mind always wandered too much; from Isolde's parents to the new year, to star gazing. All within a couple seconds. He took a few moments before looking back at Isolde, "Don't you think?"

Isolde quietly watched Niq, it was amusing how he seemed to change topics so quickly. At the mention of the stars she turned around to look. They were gorgeous and off in the distance someone was setting off fireworks which seemed to fuel the mystical vibe she was getting. "That really would be a great way to start the new year." While that did sound nice she couldn't help but think from a high rooftop would be even better, but seeing her current situation that wasn't going to be an option tonight.

Niq suddenly realized that this house did not only have a secret balcony, but a ledge too! "You know...there's actually a window that has access to the roof upstairs." He took a shot, looking over at Isolde with a grin, "If you're interested in entering the year that way." He stood up straight, no longer leaning against the rail. "We'd just have to escape the possible one on one sessions that might be occurring upstairs. If you know what I mean" He laughed, shaking his head in amusement.

Isolde looked at Niq in complete surprise when he mentioned going to the roof since she had been just thinking about that. "Oh I'd love too!" She replied with odd excitement and a kind smile. "But yeah if we could avoid those that would be perfect." She added with mock gag at the thought of what they could walk in on if not careful. That had to be one of the worst parts of a party was seeing things that couldn't be unseen no matter how hard you tried.

Isolde rolled her eyes and quickly followed along side Niq to the door. "Thank you." She told him before slipping outside and looking around to see if anyone was around. Luckily few people had come to this end of the house and most were on the other side judging by the fog of noise coming from the opposite side. Hopefully her friends hadn't tried looking for her.
