oo, oki, good to know, so there's still a chance for me to go back to my ole' writing ways. I mean, being a writer does mean a lot of development in time, i guess. haha. oh darn. i mean, i like other people's poetry quite a lot, especially like...spoken poetry? you know, the kind with a lot of emotion and power when the speaker reads it? i can't think of the name of it at the moment, but it's really neat. i saw an episode of this show the fosters once where the person read about a car trip and it was really just stunning, even if it was staged for a television show. yep, thank you. and thats fine, good luck to you in writing it too. I bet it's really good.

hey guys, good evening. I hope you're all doing okay. I just found some of my old writing and i'm cringing this story was so bad and i tried overly hard to be descriptive and made it so ugly and wowo. i can see how much my writing has improved.

Suri; Sometimes I feel like I've gotten worse in my writing xD But I guess it all just depends on the way you look at it, too. I've listened to a lot of spoken poetry, but I admit I only listened to it because I had to. But, they can be really powerful and emotional (: Thanks(: good luck to you too!

Hey guys! How are you? Welcome to the Guild, Moth! I love to write historical fiction as well (: Thanks for the welcome. And it's great to see another historical fiction writer. ^^ I currently have an idea for one set during the American Revolution as well as another set during the American Civil War, but I would like to cover several other time periods as well. And of course, I wish to be as accurate as possible while still being entertaining, so I would also need to keep in mind that I'm still writing a story and not a history textbook, but I'll be sure not to stray too far away from actual events either. And whatever sources I cite will be at the end of every book.

Definitely being accurate is the hardest part because I always have in my mind the way a certain time period is, but then it's a little bit different XD But I've always liked history, especially the war eras, so I love writing about them (: In my current story, I'm just trying to write it first and then I'm going to try to fix any accuracy problems. But the good thing is is that it is part fiction, so not everything has to be 100% true. Still, I want it to be accurate XD

But the good thing is is that it is part fiction, so not everything has to be 100% true. Still, I want it to be accurate XD Trust me, I know the feeling. XD But yeah, it's still going to be fiction, so little tweaks here and there are sometimes necessary. I'm personally fine with small inaccuracies, but big ones (unless it's alternate history) are the ones that bother me the most. Chances are I'll still enjoy the story anyway, but accuracy would still be preferred. You get what I mean? For my American Revolution story—which will be called Red, White, and Blue, which can refer to either America or Great Britain or even both—I've been watching alot of Liberty's Kids as reference, since it's probably one of—if not the—most accurate depiction of the American Revolution I've seen so far. I haven't seen that many depictions of stories of the revolution sympathizing with the British, or at least the Loyalists, and less so on how the war divided friends and families due to different views, so I want give the Loyalists a voice as well. History is told by the winners, but I think the losers should get a chance to tell their side as well, even if it isn't exactly agreeable. The same goes for women, which is why one of the main characters will be a female Patriot. The only times I've ever seen the Loyalists being portrayed in a somewhat sympathetic light would be in LK and American Girl: Felicity[/em]. I'll be doing the same with other Historical Fiction books too, like the American Civil War and the Cold War—and those are just the ones involving America. For the former in particular, I was planning on reading The Rise and Fall of the Confederate Government by Jefferson Davis to use as a reference since one of the PoVs will be from a Confederate's side (the others will include a Union soldier—the Confederate's brother—and the other will be a runaway slave). For this was one, I was thinking of naming it Brother, My Brother or after a lyric from one of my favorite songs, The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

I'm alright. Hoping I'll be able to make myself write when I get home instead of being lazy and procrastinating again. Some might think making yourself write isn't good and you won't do a good job because you won't really want to write, but it works for me. Even if I don't want to write, if I just make myself do it then I'll get into it and get a lot done. Consciously deciding to write is the hard part because procrastination tries to fight back. And for me, it wins often. Unfortunately. I really want to write today, because I don't have too much homework and today would be a good time. I'm hoping I'll be able to. You know? Anyway, how are you?
