So, I really want to do a vampire x vampire hunter roleplay in which our characters don't hate each other but aren't quite romantically involved.

I would prefer the vampire because I love the character I have in mind for the role. He's such a mess and it's great.

lolol omg sounds like my life but that sounds hella lit! i'm deciding on whether the hunter should be one of those cold, brisk characters or a charming, arrogant one. do you think one would work better with your character?~

I think harming and arrogant would work better for him. He's pretty much the same way, so I don't think cold and brisk would work well.

I had a basic plot in mind: Hunter tracks down vampire but can't bring him/herself to kill vampire, and they run into each other a couple times before forming some relationship that they can't find a term for because it's not a friendship (and they're not romantically involved) but they don't quite hate each other.

Psh, if I wanted descriptions it would take me forever to put mine up because I'm usually on my phone and don't have descriptions for all my characters. Hm, I don't really have a preference.

xzavier vanderwaal
Xzavier lit another one of his cigarettes, knowing full well whenever he reached his limit. And right now, the craving was strong. Placing it between his lips and taking a long drag, his legs almost turned into jelly as the pleasure seemed into his brain. His body soon began to calm itself almost immediately as the nicotine made its way into his system. Puffing out the smoke, he surveyed the crowds that scurried past him. The bright lights that lit the streets gave him a clear view of almost everyone he came across. What a blessing that was.In this crowded city, there was bound to be trouble. Hence, the reason why his Organization handed him the file with this destination in mind. He didn't mind it, really. The crowds were a nice change, as well as the wintertime. He embrace the cold wind biting at his face and the way in which it gave his cheeks a slight pink tinge. It kept him awake, it kept him moving. And for that, he was grateful. To the average eye, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. People were doing late holiday shopping, children were being pulled along by their parents because it was well past their bedtime, couples giggled and told one another unheard secrets.
Thankfully, Xzavier was anything but normal. He was trained not to be.Moving himself away from the wall he had been previously leaning against, Xzavier walked into the crowd to blend in with his surroundings more. Sticking out would not have been a wise decision.
He continued to take long drags from his cigarette as he walked. He was confident in his ability to find the nasty bloodsucker before the sun rose once more. He liked to challenge himself, and this was most certainly a challenge.
Xzavier wasn't new to this. He knew full well that this job had been one of the far more potentially dangerous targets. If it hadn't been, he wouldn't have been approached by the Organization. They usually allowed him to carry on as he pleased, as long as he got rid of vampires.

Lucas let out a string of swear words as he sidestepped a group of teenage girls to avoid them. He supposed that was the downside of searching for someone that would make an excellent meal on a Saturday night – everyone was out. He let out a quiet sigh to himself as he adjusted his completely unnecessary glasses and scanned the crowd for anyone that could make a good meal.
This would be his first winter in the city, and he had to admit that he always preferred living in areas with changes in seasons. His prior “life” in Florida had been nothing but frustration with the lack of traditional seasons. That, and he often couldn’t wear a long-sleeved shirt without looking completely out of place.
And that was why he was glad it was cold outside.
Lucas pulled down on the sleeves of his leather jacket, finding that they were just a little too high for his comfort. He had the jacket zipped all the way up, so no one knew that all he wore underneath it was a short-sleeved shirt. If anyone knew that, they would peg him as out of place, and he would have to explain that the cold didn’t bother him – which often was a chore, believe it or not.
He stuck his hands into his jacket pockets as he glanced down at the ground before looking up at the crowd again. He turned his head slightly to the left, toward the street, still looking for someone. But before the looking turned to staring, he looked ahead again. Despite the fact that it was unlikely anyone would notice the staring, Lucas still liked to be cautious. He had run-ins with vampire hunters before, and that was the last thing he wanted. The scars on his body told him their weapons hurt like hell, and he didn’t want to go through that pain.
He gently shook his head before pushing a hand through his hair as he glanced to his right. “Dammit,” he mumbled under his breath. All he wanted was to find someone suitable for a meal, and he hadn’t yet despite the sidewalks being crowded.

He internally groaned when he felt a slight buzzing in his side pocket. He despised being disturbed while out in a job. While the Organization meant to be helpful, he often felt that their interruptions did more harm than they intended.
Picking it up and holding it to his ear without looking at the Caller ID, he answered with a "Hello, Darling." His British accent didn't do much to prohibit his voice from sounding husky and sultry, so it often worked in his favor.
He sometimes had to attract vampires with his face, so it was a blessing that he didn't look too bad. The art of seduction was something that Xzavier had beautifully mastered, and he often used this to advantage. For example, right now.
Despite the cold, he kept the front buttons of his ebony trench coat unbuttoned, revealing his unmarked neck for all to see. He desired to wear a scarf, but the appearance of an open neck was enough to turn a vampire into a frenzy.
Did you complete your mission yet? And don't call me that, it's disrespectful to your superiors. "Of course, sweetheart. I'm not done but I assure you that I will be soon." He smirked, despite the lit cigarette hanging between his lips. "I'm in a crowded area, there's no doubt that it's here. None of them can resist the urge when there's an overabundance of people. You should know that."
Hurry up. You should be done soon. Report back when it's completed. "Why wouldn't I, Angel?" He scoffed, as if the idea of going against orders was a despicable action he hadn't done before. The call was ended and he slid the device back into his pocket, absentmindedly walking amongst the crowd.
Truth be told, he wanted this to end much sooner. It was a bore lying in wait, and if he wasn't in a crowd, he would definitely resort to violence. But the peace of the people was often described as the most important by the Organization.

If the streets had been less crowded, Lucas would have been able to grab someone and duck into an alley. But because there were so many people around, it was likely someone would see something, especially since there weren’t many shadows in the alleys – courtesy of the street lights. He was getting close to desperate at this point, and the crowd only reinforced the desire to feed.
Despite that, he was careful to remain in control of himself, and given his age, he had had enough time to learn how to remain in control while faced with the intense desire to feed. He didn’t like fighting the instinct, but he also didn’t like getting caught by anyone, whether they were vampire hunters, law enforcement, or overly curious citizens, and the latter dislike was currently held a slight edge.
He looked to his left and right quickly, maybe a little too quickly, but he needed to find someone. The slight edge “not getting caught” held wouldn’t last forever. Even now, he wasn’t sure it wouldn’t last longer than ten or fifteen minutes.
There was a slight break in the crowd, and Lucas wasn’t going to waste the opportunity. He grabbed the nearest person, not really caring who it was now, before pulling him? her? – Lucas really hadn’t check to see who it was – into the alley and into its shadows. Whoever it was didn’t smell like the most appetizing human, but he couldn’t be picky now. He finally got a good look at whoever he had – a man, it seemed – and he tightened his grip on the other male.

(That sounds awful. Hm, whatever you want, really. I left it ambiguous on purpose, because I didn't know which route you wanted to have this go. If he did grab a random person, Xzavier could've seen it. If he grabbed Xzaveier, well, let's see how that little interaction goes.)

Xzavier had been minding his own business, continuing to stroll down the street without a care in the world. It was a nice, quiet night and he found himself wishing that he wasn't on a job. His cigarette hung haphazardly from his lips as he winked at a pair of ladies while he walked past. Their giggles caused his grin to grow even wider and blew out a gust of air as he did so. The smoke drifted up to the stars and he found himself staring up at the sky. Huh. They weren't even that visible in the city.
Xzavier frowned at that sudden discovery, turning his gaze back to the scene surrounding them. He continued to survey across the area in front of him despite of the being distracted the gentle women, and the stars of course, who had interested him greatly. He was on a job, and that was the main importance. Because of him, ladies like them could walk the streets safely.
The vampire had not yet stepped into his line of sight, which disturbed him greatly. It was out there, Xzavier knew that for certain. He wouldn't be sent to this specific area by the Organization if there weren't any potential threats. He hadn't really been too keen on taking this job, and he soon found himself wishing for a warm hotel room and a ticket back to his place.
He had been interrupted from his thoughts and mindful rambling when a hand came out of nowhere and pulled him into the nearby alley. His look of surprise soon turned into a knowing smirk as the realization came to him: the vampire.
The gloominess of the surrounding aura made it difficult for Xzavier to differentiate any special characteristics of the figure standing before him, but he supposed that wasn't important. Nothing else but a bloodthirsty creature would pull someone into an alleyway like that. Well, perhaps a pervert would. But ridding those kinds of people from the world wasn't so bad either.
"Y'know," he spoke, tossing his cigarette to the ground and stomping it out with his boots. "I usually accept a date and a meal before things start to head down this pathway." He chuckled, pulling out one of his blessed pistols from his inner coat pocket. Aiming it right at the threat, his fingers rested on the trigger as he glanced at the creature.

Lucas released Xzavier's wrist once they were safely in the shadows of the alley, confident that the man wouldn't put up much of a fight. He had been standing so that he was facing the hunter, and he had been about to reposition himself to stand behind him, but that changed when he saw the pistol. He thought about stepping back and throwing his hands up in surrender, but he didn't want to give the man the satisfaction of frightening him. Besides, Lucas wasn't entirely sure that Xzavier was a vampire hunter. Maybe he just carried a firearm.
Despite not knowing exactly why the other man had a gun, he wasn't going to back down. "And what pathway would this be?" Lucas countered as he folded his arms across his chest, glancing at the pistol every once in a while. Maybe playing innocent would prevent a shot from going off. He was careful to stay in the shadows, not wanting to give the other man an opportunity to see his face. The only thing that might reveal his facial characteristics would be light reflecting off his glasses.
(I'm so sorry this is short.)

{{ it's not short at all!!~ }} "What would that be, you say?" He repeated. his tone of voice taking a mocking attitude. His accent made him seem far more uptight than reality revealed. He tilted his head to the side slightly as his hawk-like gaze searched for any definitive feature of the vampire standing in front of him. Unluckily, the lighting was proving to be against Xzavier and he inwardly cursed. Despite this, he was still quite pleased that he was face to face with his mission. Perhaps he would be able to end this as soon as he could and be able to make it back home before the sun rose.
He did noticed that the figure before him was shorter than he was, but everyone Xzavier met was typically seen as tiny when compared to the giant of a man. He stood at 6'3", so his deafening aura and durable build made him appear to be far more intimidating than one would prefer. His hold on the weapon hadn't wavered quite yet, and he left a hand ready to slide into his inner pocket to pull another out, if need be.
"Y'know," he tapped the weapon against the vampire's chest, leaning against the opposite wall. The area they were in was small and suffocating, and Xzavier was glad that his training provided him to be immune to being claustrophobic. The stuffiness of the small alleyway would have been exhausting, to say in the least.
