// the plot (heavily inspired by Bridget Jones's Diary)
our two characters, unfortunately, have let the excitements of life pass them by, in some ways. they've both been somewhat career-driven for the most part of their lives after college, and now--well, they've both come to the realization that they're almost in their thirties and single. as in, embarrassingly single. their friends are starting to get married and have kids, and it seems as if they've been left behind. so, by a twist of fate, for a New Year's resolution, they both decide to take their lives back and start keeping a journal, documenting their daily progress with their goals. the end goal can vary: lose weight, eat better, find love, become less vulgar, become more successful... generally, they both want to improve themselves. one day, they happen to run into each other, whether it's through work, becoming new neighbors, always seeing each other on the subway... and the rest is history.
(most of this is a brief summary--I would like to flesh more of the plot, setting, and characters out once I find a suitable partner.)
// notes
- this is designed to be a cute, one on one, quirky romance roleplay, sort of modeled after the hilariously awkward mishaps in Bridget Jones's Diary. nothing has to be exactly the same, but keep Murphy's Law in mind as we go: anything that can go wrong, will go wrong--in a funny way of course.
- I might accept more than one partner! so, don't think this is totally claimed until I actually say so.
- a response recapping a day/week/night out should include a journal entry, detailed enough to give a good insight into the character's thoughts and feelings.
- as far as preferred pairings go, I would love it if this could be a male x male roleplay. however, I might be willing to make this a male x female.
// rules
1. please, please don't do what I call "dining and dashing"--don't claim this spot then not reply after a couple days. this is a plot that I'm really excited about, and it would be a shame to lose a partner so soon. if you've lost muse for this, I would rather you tell me directly than just leave me hanging.
2. when I say advanced, my expectations are at least three paragraphs per response, as merely a minimum (of course, there's exceptions for dialogue scenes). good grammar, spelling, punctuation, and subject-verb agreement are givens. if you don't think that you can live up to these standards, please don't post here. it's really disappointing to find a partner who isn't quite up to your standards.
3. let's keep this, for the most part, forum appropriate. anything extra-romantic we can roleplay via direct messages, if you wish. we can imply the rest.
4. I won't make activity mandatory, since I'm often very busy and can manage semi-active at my best. if you can manage anywhere between three to four detailed, well thought out responses per week, that would be wonderful.
5. lastly, have some fun! this should be a really fun roleplay, so don't lose sight of that in the long responses.
after reading all this, do you still think you'd be down to start this plot with me? comment below, and I'll get back to you! <3
