For years the land had been lush and green. Forests growing strong, imbued with the magic of the creatures that resided within them. Humans had changed the landscape somewhat, cultivating the soil to grow crops and graze their lumbering herds of cattle. Their reluctance to believe in the unbelievable weakened the magic of those creatures that lived all around them and over time the land began to grow dull.
Only some strongholds remained, the most wild and untamable of forests. Where the trees were as old as time, new branches growing instantly to replace any that man tried to cut down. Here it seemed to always be spring, flowers remaining in bloom all year round, a bright canvas of colour, all shades of the rainbow. The largest of these strongholds was home to the remnants of the Fea kingdom, a castle formed of a gnarled old oak tree, its sprawled roots supporting a veritable labyrinth of underground passages that provided shelter to the fair folk. It was here that our unlikely hero called home, although rarely could he be seen so close to the heart of their lands.
No curiosity was is main fault and he lingered often on the edge of the forests, his violet eyes watching the humans in their wattle huts, carrying woven baskets and herding livestock. From time to time he would venture in to their domain. Gazed upon with suspicion because of his silvery hair and eyes the same colour as spring violets. He never lingered for too long. Although many did not believe in magic there were a few who viewed anyone different as a heathen, they brandished iron and torches, still clinging to these old charms for protection, even through their ignorance of the magical world.
The flames he could stand, but the iron made his flesh crawl and he would reluctantly turn back to the woods. Waiting until he was beyond the view of the villagers before spreading gossamer fine wings and speeding back to the shelter of the trees, where his dreams of adventure would only grow.

Near one of the few remaining strongholds was a quaint little town, despite the common disbelief in magic it decorated with all kinds of odds and ends believed to ward of any beast or creature that might come from the beautiful forests in the area. The townsfolk were mindlessly going about their days work, bakers were baking, smiths were smithing, merchants were selling and trading goods. All seemed peaceful.
Now it was near the outskirts of this town was an unusual personage, not melting into the community as easily as others. She had merely slipped into the town to find something safe to eat, but the more she eavesdropped on conversations the more confused she became. Word was that all of her kind were dead, all of the great werewolves were said to have been destroyed. But that couldn't possibly be right, she was a werewolf and she was still alive. There was no way it could be true, right? Sure there had been hunters after them but it couldn't be possible that they were all gone.
Her amber brown gaze flickered around uneasily before quickly remembering her purpose for being in this forsaken town. Food. It was almost impossible to find anything safe to eat with these odd forests around, chances were everything contained poison of some kind. The beast's mouth watered when her gaze fell upon some warm bread that was being sold in from of the bakery, she would just take one and go before anyone noticed. Quietly walking past and snatching a small loaf, struggling to act completely natural before she got half way down a little cobble street that led out of the town and someone shouted from behind her accompanied by running in her direction.
Fearfully glancing over her shoulder to find that she was indeed being chased, an unnatural amber glow showing in her eyes before the beast run off the path as quick as possible into the forests. Her dark hair catching on some branches before pulling it out of the way. By the sounds of it she was still being followed deeper into the woodland with what had to be more then three men shouting and tripping along.
( Sorry if it isn't very good. )
