☂ ...when people just post rude comments in threads dedicated to something. I mean, I understand that you might be "salty" in personality, but that's not called for. Like, there was a Spongebob thread awhile back, where we were sharing our favorite Spongebob quotes/pics, and someone hopped in with a rude comment about people who like Spongebob. On another thread about MLP, someone asked why the thread wasn't deleted. It's amazing how people can be so nasty for no reason at all. I get that some people like to be sarcastic, but that doesn't mean that other people won't get that it's sarcastic. Sometimes, sarcasm can be just flat-out mean. In real life, you can usually see by another person's expression that they're being sarcastic, but this is online... you only see what's being written.
I mean, I understand that people don't like certain things, but that doesn't justify being openly rude to people who do like it. I know plenty of people who love anime, and I don't like it myself, but I don't go into anime threads saying "anime is for losers" or anything like that. I just avoid threads like that, since there's no point to saying that. People can often take comments like that seriously, and I know that I'm offended when people make fun of things that I like. Just because you don't like something doesn't justify you to be able to openly bash that show/book/etc.
[deep breath]
Mkay, I'm feeling kind of better now.
Have a wonderful evening, y'all.

Agree 100% The only time I ever give anyone a hard time about not liking something is with friends and that's always a joke.

☂ You bet I'm going to. Agree 100% The only time I ever give anyone a hard time about not liking something is with friends and that's always a joke. ☂ Glad to see there's another person who agrees.
That's true. I do that with my friends, but I'm not rude to them about it. If I feel that it's edging towards being mean, then I tend to let them know that it's definitely just a joke.

That does seem to be the case, but sometimes, there are certain people just wanting to stir something up.
Surprised that this thread hasn't received any hate yet.
and now i've jinxed it oops

For me, this forum is supposed to be a safe haven away from the judgement and hateful attitudes of the outside world. I don't come here to be crapped on. I never dealt with that when I was younger on here and I don't want it now. Fully appreciate this post! I want everyone to get along and respect each other.

I agree. Going on a thread for LGBTQ+ people and stating you support gays, but not their lifestyle, really is irritating and obnoxious.

THIS. So I'll be talking with my friends about stuff, right? Then someone butts in and tells us we should feel bad for liking it. No reason why. Like really? I completely respect you don't like something I do, but being rude about it isn't gonna do any good, fam.

On other sites I mean. Here I haven't really seen much. But there's a lot of hate flying around this site and a lot of separation. Here's the thing. I'm asexual but if asked I usually just stick with straight because being in a long term committed relationship while being ace doesn't usually make sense to anyone. So yeah I don't really want to be played a tiny violin thank you. Negativity is not welcome.

yes that's why you have a huge thread for Christianity but whenever lgbt gets mentioned the thread starts a fight and is deleted you guys have your own thread too and if you don't then that's not our problem? I've never come to a lgbt thread to start trouble. I've only ever stood by my friends when it seems like they are getting attacked. I mean if you're not a Christian, you wouldn't understand the hate we get. Just like I'm not lgbt so I wouldn't understand the hate they get. And I don't mean just on here, but on other sites and irl too.

We all have different opinions on lgbt, but can't respect the fact that not every single person will agree with lgbt. That's what starts the fight. (There could also be misunderstanding, misinformation involved, etc. too.)
