// the plot
"the walls are paper thin and.." (from tumblr) ... i hear you having obnoxious parties every night, and i would be mad but at the end of it all i can hear you crying yourself to sleep and i’m actually kind of worried about this lifestyle you’re living? (i'm gonna go ahead and just. claim the party animal character. sorry.)
// character saves
Tobias Fujioka // male // twenty one years old (fc: Sen Mitsuji) physical: - stands at 5'6" - has a somewhat thin, willowy body type - has short black hair, artfully styled, with dark brown eyes - has thin scars on his wrists and inner thighs. some look fresher than others - typically wears all black, with winged eyeliner on occasion
personal: - fiery, irritable, definitely not someone to pick a fight with - confident and daring, really has no regard for rules ("screw what they say" mindset) - conceited, addicted to social media (and also low key instafamous) - makes rash decisions, very subject to impulse - cynical about a lot of things, especially religion and the patriarchy
other notes: - has been in the foster child system since he was roughly two. was--abused--at one of the several homes he lived in - attended CalTech, graduated early with a degree in engineering - suffers from mild depression and bpd, due to the abuse
Dante Aptheker (19) stands at about 5’6, with curlyish dark brown hair and eyebrows and light brown eyes against pale skin. His eyes are round and often seen wide and simply watching everything around him. His nose is convex and comparatively large, but he never draws too much attention, as he usually stands with his back hunched or otherwise makes himself look smaller. - messy, wears the same like 4 shirts, needs coffee to survive - unassuming, a bit peculiar - science nerd (particularly bio/chemistry; is majoring in pre-med) - has always held a grudge against the 'party culture' after seeing some of his high school friends hurt in it, but hasn't done anything more than feel bitter in that regard

(no problem! i understand... and okay, i first cooked this kid up for a much different roleplay-- one about, like 'good thief' type characters that was a lot less slice-of-life than this, so if the description seems sort of weird that's why. i decided to do the personality and stuff in bullet points, just because what i typed up for that was somewhat different than how he is in my mind now.)

me too! sorry for the delay, i'm getting started on this intro post now.
and that's super cool, omg! what college did you visit? (also, low key, i'm a bit of a college expert if i do say so myself. but i've already submitted an app early decision through the common app, so if you have any questions about it at all please let me know! i'd love to help you out.)

It was getting close to ten o'clock at night on a Friday, and most of the tenants in Queens' red brick apartments knew exactly what was going to happen: the young man on the third floor was going to have some people over.
Well, 'some people' was quite an understatement for the social gathering that took place every Friday, starting in the springtime and ending in the fall. If this man's parties could be compared to anything, they would be on the same level as the parties Mr. Gatsby would throw himself. However, they were much smaller, more cramped, less expensive, and overall, raunchier and hotter, taken to a level that Mr. Gatsby could've never imagined. And, don't forget the deafening trap music and abundance of jungle juice.
The aspect that makes them similar, though, was their unusual ability to attract people from all walks of life. The young man on the third floor attracted rich boys from Columbia, artists from NYU, prodigies and virtuosos from Juilliard, and sometimes even the snobs from Harvard and the nerds from MIT. Generally, there was a huge variety of college students or recent graduates at 'the house party in Queens,' and people had the chance to interact that normally never would've crossed paths.
But, who was the host?
Rumors about whoever he or she was spread like a wildfire among the partygoers. Some claimed he was an Ivy dropout, who basically was giving the finger to whoever their parents were; this, and variants of it, seemed to be the most believable. Others dared to say it was some pervert who got a kick out of having so many young people at their house. Either way, these broke college students could care less about where their booze came from. If it was free, they were there. What people did know about the host, however, is that he was strangely elusive. Nobody ever introduced themselves as the host of these events, and if they did, they never gave out a name, or any information at all. It was like he wanted people to speculate about his identity, or he was too paranoid or oddly private to ever share it. In actuality, it was a combination of both. The only people that knew anything at all about Tobias were his neighbors, and he intended to keep it that way.
At roughly 10 o' clock, the whole floor was already filled with noise that evened out to a hum, with people carrying red Solo cups spilling out into the hallway. There was aimless chatter, laughing, and bass that shook the floors.

(yeah! it's really nice to know that, at the end of it all, i have a college that i can go to for sure, haha. and yeah, knox is pretty good! i kind of want to do some sciency stuff, but i'd like to explore some creative pursuits further-- i really love drawing and creative writing as well. it seems like some of the liberal arts colleges i've looked at are really good places to figure out how to meld different interests, and i have weird/unrelated interests in spades, haha. any cool colleges you're looking at?)
(also, forgive me if this is too short. and dont worry too much about the groupchat details. that was mostly me having some fun with my own oc's, lol.)

Dante’s apartment was one of smallest and simplest in the complex. A compound living room, dining room, and kitchen was the view from the front door; to the left were the doors to a single bedroom and a bathroom. He was lying on his couch, Bluetooth speakers humming from the coffee table behind his head, when the noise from the apartment next door picked up.
He held his phone above his face and stared at it, expression blank. “Damn it,” Dante hissed. “Damn that guy.” Though he’d heard the raunchy talk and thumping music every Friday for weeks, the clamor still made his eye twitch.
Yawning, Dante flicked his finger along his phone screen and opened up a group chat for a couple of his childhood friends.
D: Party Guy is at it again. T: sounds annoying. im sorry A: you should check out the party A: you know.. Drank D: Uh T: shut up he doesnt need to do that A: fff ok A: tell him to h*ck off then
The conversation followed suit, and the party next door only grew in volume. How come this kid hasn’t gotten evicted yet?
