(Sure. ^^ )
The day had been a hectic one. Anya thought packing for her trip to join the Riders had been stressful. Not only had she had to pick her clothes and other essentials, but this time there was a lot of other equipment she would have to bring. Stuff for Corrik's harness, camping gear, weapons and supplies to keep her daggers sharp, and the list went on. Alia had given her a long list of items she needed to be sure to have before they left. Of course, her mentor had helped her gather everything, but it still took most of the day before everything had been acquired. Despite all the running around and the dent in her meager savings, Anya felt an overwhelming sense of excitement for the day to come. By this time tomorrow, she and Corrik would be exploring the kingdom, meeting the people who they would be working to help. It made the humdrum task of packing go by much faster.
By the time she had finished, the young woman had about two hours before she would be meeting with Seth. Those two hours had been spent resting and getting ready for the last night she would be spending with her friend for a while. Even though they hadn't said it was a special occasion, she still dressed in a new pink tunic, black leggings, and her boots. On top of that, she wrapped a belt around her waist with silver detailing which would hold her coin bag. She had a pair of fingerless gloves that she got as part of her riding gear, and they were just simple enough that she pulled them on to complete the outfit. Her hair she braided and pulled into a half up, half down look. Once down, she roamed her room to be sure there was nothing else she missed before Seth came knocking on her door.
The walk to the arcade was too bad. It was located in a part of the city she had only been to once on an errand for Silas, so she hadn't had a chance to really explore the sector. The whole trip was filled with their usual small talk, mostly how her day of preparation had gone and some more mental double checking of certain supplies.

(( hello !! i’m quite new but could i join ?
SN: komorebi Plot/Prompt: troubled heart Character's Name: Avalon Grace Dixon Description: Avalon is a pretty girl. She’s not the prettiest around, but she is definitely attractive with her button nose and soft freckles dotting over her chubby cheeks. She is on the shorter side, standing only at about 156cm (5’1”). She has long, light brown hair, which is honestly always a mess. It’s in the middle of being curly and wavy all the way through with much tighter curls forming closer to the ends of her hair. It reaches to about hip length and is quite soft and fluffy. She is a thick on the bottom half, partly because she has wide hips and chubby thighs. She has soft blue-gray eyes rimmed with black and they turn a darker blue when she’s been in the sun for a long time. Personality: Avalon is what some would say, a nice person and a good friend, she’s always there for people and she’ll have your back through whatever once you get her to that point in friendship. She doesn’t like to open up to people a lot because she has been hurt and betrayed in the past but she doesn’t put up with anyone’s bull. She isn’t afraid to tell people off, but she’s the type that when she’s arguing she actually makes real valid points. This girl is the sweetest person alive but once you get on her bad side, it’s over. She’s definitely not one to mess with and she can be quite easily angered when you talk about something she’s passionate about. Some say she’s spoiled because she will argue until she gets her way with something she really wants. Avalon is... petty. Unprovoked petty. It’s almost like she enjoys annoying people, but she swears she doesn’t do it on purpose. She enjoys making friends, but once you piss her off she’ll make sure you won’t forget it. And whatever you do, DO NOT joke about her being short unless you want to make a forever enemy. Password: midnight Other: (( i wasn’t sure if i should put this in personality or not ? )) Avalon has quite a few fears. She doesn’t like to be alone for long periods of time, although she stays in her room most of the day. She doesn’t like small spaces or the dark and she gets slight panic attacks if she’s in a crowd that’s too close together. In other words, she doesn’t like to be squished by people. She doesn’t like bugs at all (stinkbugs and moths especially) and she will scream if she sees any. Avalon is actually very insecure and she is always disliking how she looks or how her body looks, but she doesn’t let it out. Other random facts is that she’s constantly singing and dancing, but she doesn’t have that pretty of a singing voice and she can’t dance very well. Her favorite colors are red and black and she eats a lot of little kid food - mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, pb&j sandwiches, etc.
this is a pretty long description of her , but i could make a simpler one if you’d like c: ))

(( i will , if that’s ok cx ))
Avalon layed on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. Her legs were neatly crossed over one another and she tapped her fingers to the beat of the music coming through the headphones she had on, There’s someone coming to live in my house today, she thought to herself. The small girl shuddered at the thought of a complete stranger staying with her but tried to push it away; it was gonna be weird but she’ll deal. She sat up and adjusted her headphones to fit over only one ear, then swung her legs over the side of her bed. She dangled her legs for a few seconds, she had a tall platform bed so they didn’t reach the ground. hopped off her bed and stretched her arms over her head.
She grabbed a bottle of water from her mini fridge before opening her bedroom door and she looked down the hall. No one was upstairs, probably all down waiting for the kid to arrive. She quickly threw her long hair in a low, messy bun and trotted down the stairs. “Hey,” she greeted her parents, who murmured a reply. She plopped down on the couch, bringing her knees up and took a sip of her water. She might as well stay downstairs while waiting for the new person to come.
(( i wasn’t sure if he's already at the house or not ? but hopefully this works lol ))

(That's fine! ^^ )
It was the same story, just a different chapter. Really, he could go through this whole process in his sleep by now. The only thing that was different was the route they were driving.
"Jace, are you listening to me?" asked his social worker, Tim Jenkins. He was currently in the process of giving him the "This is very important and you better not mess this up" lecture. It was the same one he always gave, with slight variations depending on the situation at hand. This time, there was extra emphasis on good behavior on his part.
"Yeah, I hear ya," Winter muttered. Crossing his arms over his chest, he leaned his head against the window. Although his eyes stared out at the world passing by, he paid little attention to the scenery. He just wanted the day to be over already. They had been driving for nearly forty minutes now. This was certainly the longest trip they've taken in order to find a foster home. Then again, there was a sore few suitable homes that are good candidates for caring for foster kids. Especially older kids in the teenage years. So Tim had to search outside the normal area for this family. Yay. At least he didn't have to transfer schools. He would have just called it a quits if he had to change schools as well as houses.
Tim glanced over at the boy, knowing that this wasn't a well anticipated moment. "Jace, I know you don't want to do this, but I'm begging you to just put up with it. One more year, and you won't have to deal with it any more. All I ask is that you at least try to make the most of it. The Dixons seem like a really nice family. Can you just give them a chance?"
Winter scoffed. "They're all nice until you leave," he muttered.
Sighing, Tim just let the topic drop. He knew that Jace wasn't in the mood to try and talk, so he just let him be. They were almost to the house anyway, so he left him to gather his thought on his own. Five minutes later, he pulled the dark blue Nissan into the Dixons' driveway. Tim parked and unbuckled his seat belt, but when he got out of the car, he noticed that Jace hadn't moved. This was the normal routine. Leaving him be for a moment, the social worker walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell.

Avalon was comfortable sitting on the couch. Over time, she shifted from sitting to leaning back, her legs stretching across the cushions. She got lost in the moment, listening to her music and scrolling through Snapchat. Suddenly, a pillow connected with her face and knocked her headphones off. “Hey!!” She turned to see who the culprit was and found her mother sighing at her.
“I’ve been calling you! Can you please go get the door? I think Jace is here. And get your feet off the couch.” Her mother said, putting her book down. The woman stood and began straightening some stuff around the house and getting some spare cups on the end table. Avalon sighed, her mother always wanted to make a good impression on people who came over; even if it was friends she’d known for years.
She stopped at the mirror near the front door and cringed. She looked a mess and there was a stranger - who she never met before, doesn’t know who he’s like, barely even knew what his name was - and she‘s about to greet him. She took her hair out and fixed into a more put-together low bun, then quickly straightened her shirt. Sighing, she opened the door and was taken aback at who stood there. “Ah, hi. You look a bit older, I assumed you’d be more my age, but okay. Come in,” she forced a smile at Tim, moving aside and gesturing to the house.

. Seth spent his day trying to avoid Genevieve. He wasn't in the mood for her verbal beatdown, and he didn't want it to sour his mood for the evening. He wasn't going to send Anya off while acting like a grouch. Genevieve could just get in line — preferably the back of a very, very long line.
So much of Seth's day was spent in the air with Stel. They had soared in ever-widening circles miles away from and above Iliera. Mostly they just talked, with Seth lounging along Stel's back like a cat, soaking up the sun. When they got bored of that, they practiced aerial maneuvers and fight sequences. Around that time they were found by Morgan. Apparently, Genevieve was pissed and had sent half the available Riders off to find Seth and drag him back. Of course it was Morgan who found him, and of course it was Morgan who joined in the fun for a few hours and then left as if he had never seen hide nor hair of Seth.
After Morgan left, Seth and Stel went for a swim (the lake was bloody freezing) before finally returning to Iliera. Stel landed out of sight of any searching guards or Riders, and Seth used his magic to get himself to his apartment, where he showered and changed into dark jeans and a green shirt. He shoved his feet into his boots, threw on his dark leather flying jacket, and headed out to pick up Anya.
That proved to be an adventure and challenge all its own, as Seth snuck into and out of the House without being seen. Anya, unsurprisingly, went along with his sleuthing with minimal questions. In situations like that, Seth was glad Anya wasn't one to pry.
He, of course, had no such qualms and asked her endless questions about her day. He was genuinely curious, but he also asked to distract her from asking after him. It wasn't that he didn't want to tell her about his day, he just didn't want to tell her why his day had consisted of avoiding Genevieve.
When they arrived at their destination — a place called The Flying Venture — Seth used the arcade entrance and opened the door for Anya. As she went in, a thought occurred to him and he asked, "Hey, did I mention you look nice tonight?"

Tim laughed at the greeting he was given. "Ah, no, sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not Jace. I'm his social worker," he told her, reaching out a hand to shake. "My name is Tim Jenkins. You must be Avalon. You're parents have told me a lot about you the last time I met with them. It's good to finally meet you in person.
After the introductions were given, he stepped into the house. "I won't be long. I know you all must have plenty to do, and I don't want to take up too much of your time. Jace is in the car. I figured he needs a bit to gather his thoughts, so I thought I'd come in and speak with you all once more before I bring him in. Are your parents around?"
Yeah, the sneaking out of the House was a little strange, but, at the same time, this was Seth. He was probably doing it just for the fun of it, to goof off on her last night in the city. She could've asked him the reasoning, but then she would be ruining the good time. So she stayed silent.
The closer they got to the arcade, the more excited she became. Regardless if she would find the games fun, she knew that it was going to be a good night. Every time she hung out with Seth, it was a good time. Scared half to death most times, but he usually made up for those shenanigans by the end of the day. She was just about to walk inside when he gave her the compliment. "You think so? I haven't really done anything special," she said, blushing slightly and shrugging.

Avalon’s eyes bulged when Tim explained he was only the social worker, just for a second before she tried to fix herself. She turned visibly red and quickly shook Tim’s hand before she brought it up to rest on her cheek/jawline, in the process pushing her cheek up to be quite chubby. “Heh. Um, okay,” she nodded, glancing towards the unfamiliar car next to her family’s SUV. She now noticed a figure sitting in the seat, and she gave a small wave in that direction.
Hearing Tim’s voice again made Avalon turn on her heels, and she closed the screen door behind him, leaving the other open for Jace. “Yah I can get her—“ she began to walk towards the other room, but her mother emerged from the kitchen as if on queue, and the thin woman rushed over to extend her hand in greeting. “You must be Tim! My husband is away at work, but you can come and sit so we can chat. Would you like some water?” She asked, gesturing towards the couch. Avalon sighed and sat on the steps while Tim and her mother talked about the boring stuff.

Tim shook the woman's hand, smiling. "That's quiet alright. I appreciate the offer, but like I mentioned to your daughter, I won't take up too much of your time. I'm just here to make sure you have no further questions about everything."
That and he wanted to be sure that they knew what they were going to be facing in the upcoming days. Jace was not an easy person to live with, and while he had already told them about the boy, he still felt like he needed to inform them on his current state. If things went well, this would be the last foster home he would have to move to. That is, if he did his part in making it work.
Never the one knowing how to take a compliment, Anya just gave a small smile and let the subject lie with that. Yeah, she had worn a new shirt, but that was just because she didn't want to wear any of her older clothes. And she did her hair to just tame it. She didn't think she looked any different than she normally did. As they entered the building, her eyes roamed over all the lights and games of the arcade. It was much busier than she thought it was going to be, both people wise and layout. How were there this many game options? "Games," she replied, grinning. While it might have been a bit overwhelming to look at, she was excited to try out the games. Then teased, "If we get drinks now, I might not be able to pull you away from the bar."

Mrs. Dixon nodded, then glanced at Avalon. “I don’t have any questions. I know you mentioned that he isn’t the easiest kid to work with, but we’re willing to coax him out of his shell.” She said with a small laugh, then motioned for Avalon to come over. Sighing, the girl stood and walked over to stand next to her mother, then smiled at Tim.
“Can we meet him?” She asked, and received a light jab from her mother’s elbow while she muttered something about being patient. Avalon shrugged, then walked over towards the door, looking out at the car again. “Or can i go say hi myself?” She asked, turning to face towards Tim again. Her mother lightly touched Tim’s arm, giving a slight chuckle. “Ignore her, she’s quite curious when it comes to meeting new people...”

Tim smiled. "That's what I'm hoping for," he told them. "Jace is just taking things very hard. Moving has never been easy for him, and when he gets in his moods, it's difficult to deal with. I know you and your family will do your best to help him, and if you ever need anything, just let me know. Any time, day or night. I just want to be sure things work well for everyone."
At Avalon's question, he chuckled slightly. "Right, I guess is is about time to get him from the car. If you'd like to come with me, you can. Don't expect a warm greeting from him, but you're more than welcome to try and get one. Excuse us," he replied, nodding to Mrs. Dixon before heading back to the door, gesturing for Avalon to follow if she wanted.
Winter was exactly where he had been left, sitting in the front see of the car. Tim hadn't been gone long before the door opened once more and he stepped back onto the porch. So this was it. He was going to have to get out and walk into a house he didn't even want to be in. How long would this one last? A month? Two? There was always the chance that Tim changed his mind, that he wouldn't have to live with these people after all. However, as he was the man walk towards his side of the car, he knew this wasn't going to be the case.

. Seth turned away from watching the crowd and followed Anya's gaze to the tower of prizes. He grinned and pointed to the top, where the best and biggest prizes were. "The dragon, of course. Every kid in Iliera has come in here and tried to win that dragon. None have succeeded. Or, if they have, then the arcade has several of that same dragon and they keep replacing it, cause I haven't seen it move, ever." The blue stuffed dragon was very lifelike, even while still being obviously a toy, and it was the size of a large dog. It was actually hanging from wires above the prize shelf, rather than sitting atop the shelf itself, and posed to look like it was flying.

(5,000 tickets is a lot. In the small arcade that used to be in my town, I think the highest prize was 1,000 to 2,000 tickets. And it got you a tiger about that size, if not smaller. This place seems to be much busier, so 5,000 would be a good number. Do they have a thing where you can save your tickets and pile them up until the next time you play? Or do you have to spend the tickets before you leave? If you can save your tickets, then yeah, 5,000 would be fine. Because unless you spent all your time there every single day, it'll take you a good long while to save up that much.
Then again, I haven't been to an arcade in years, so I my memory of such things are fuzzy. XD)

(Seems like a far enough limit. XD Besides, I'm sure Morgan has at least half the amount already. XD)
"That's what we're here to find out," Anya said with a grin. "I figured we'd be here a while, so I brought a good bit of coin to spend on the games. Care to see how much we can collect in one night?" There was a god chance that they wouldn't be able to collect the required amount of tickets needed to get the toy, but that didn't mean they couldn't try, right? Besides, it was her last night here. She had been frugal with her savings, and had dedicated her time to her training and studies. She deserved at least one night to do as she wished. If that meant blowing her money trying to get a toy that would be cheaper finding at a toy store than playing all the games, than so be it.

What would you say their currency is? In my head, it's coins like bronze, silver, gold, etc., cause I'm unimaginative that way. xD Seth grinned. "Absolutely." The attendant chose that moment to appear, smiling blandly. She was clearly at the end of a long shift and was quite done acting happy and excitable. One look at Seth, however, and her smile turned a little more genuine. "Hello! What can I do for you?"
Seth dropped a large coin purse (which seemed to appear in his hand out of nowhere) on the counter. "As many tokens as that will buy, please and thank you." As she took the purse to do so, Seth returned his attention to Anya. "You can buy the next bunch of tokens," he told her.

(That's what I'm thinking too. Like, sure, they've had all these technological advances, but the country hasn't seen the problem with their money, so they just kept it as is. Why fix it if it ain't broken? XD )
And it was times like this when she was glad that Seth had a thing for competitive and possibly childish antics. They were getting that toy, one way or another. She thought that they would just pool their money together and buy all of their tokens at once. However, Seth's coin purse was out and on the counter before she could even blink. She was about to stop the employee, or at least wait until she returned to buy some tokens of her own, when Seth's suggestion she buy the next round was made. Truth be told, that was probably the best idea. She did have to buy drinks, after all. Unlike him, she had to be a bit more careful with what she spent. "Sounds like a plan," She replied instead.
