Seth shook his head, frustrated that she didn't understand, that he couldn't tell her what she needed to know to understand. "Yes. No. Not... not exactly. I'm sorry, but I can't tell you the real reason, the reason behind the reason. But just... know that there is more at work here than you know. To know it, you'd either need to be a part of it, or..." He looked away, hesitant to say anything else. "Or," he said at last, in a tone almost too quiet to hear, "you would end up on Genevieve's hit list."

Anya witnessed the exchange and desperately tried to think of a way to break up whatever squabble they were having. It was clear Seth had been right about hard feelings between them, but she wasn't sure why. Yeah, family have fights, but they could usually resolve it fairly quickly. At least in her household. She felt like there had to be something she could do. At the same time, however, she felt like maybe she shouldn't get in between them. If things got out of hand, Seth might end up leaving or Callum would be in a bad mood the rest of the party. Either option will disappoint Cresseida and Cami. Not wanting either to happen, the woman walked up and physically separated the two men. "I don't really think it matters much. He's here, and he brought a band. One that shouldn't go to waste," she told them, hoping the change of topic would smooth things over for a bit. (It's all good. There's not much she could do in this moment anyway, so don't worry about it. ^^ )
Once he was settled into the back seat, Matthias and Stitch wrapped the blankets they had brought around him as well, creating a little nest or cocoon with only his face showing. It took only a minute or two for them to situate him, and then Matthias was out, both back doors were closed, and the dark haired male was behind the steering wheel once more.
"Hang on. I apologize now if I will be driving more crazy than normal," Matthias told her. With that, he started the truck and made as sharp of a U-turn as possible. Then they were speeding off the way they had come.
All the while, Stitch softly spoke to Dallas, trying to keep the boy focused and awake for as long as possible. He started out with simple things, like telling him who he was, who was driving. Then he asked him to name everyone in the house they lived. There was fourteen people under one roof, a roof that had been renovated plenty of times to accommodate so many. Dallas's replies were slow and mumbled, but they were correct if not clear. That was all that matter.
The drive back to the Pack's home was a good twenty minutes away. Ten of those minutes consisted of going down a long, deserted looking dirt road. "Sketchy as this may seem, I promise, you're not in any danger," Matthias told Adelaide, just to be on the safe side. Eventually, they pulled up to a lone, well kept house in the middle of nowhere. Before they even pulled to a stop, there were people flooding out of the house, waiting for them to approach. Each one wore a face of worry and concern. Those who had been awake when the two left were briefly told Dallas was hurt. They, in turn, told the others as they woke. Now, a good seven people were on the porch, waiting to see what had happened to the young member of their family. [ Hey, Sorry about being mia the last two or so days. I've been super crazy busy with work and life. ] Adelaide peered into the backseat watching silently as Matthias and Stitch wrapped the other blankets they had brought. 'I don't that he could barely move, even if he tried.' She thought quietly to herself, as she turned back and looked the through the windshield as Dallas hopped into the driver's seat and began to drive. She was admiring the mountains as she watched the landscape continuously changed the further away they drove. She played with a few silver locks of her hair as she listened to Stitch's voice, as he continued speaking to Dallas, trying his best to keep him awake.
She smiled looking over at Matthias, " I hope not, I definitely would not be worth using this much gas to transport me somewhere, just so you could hurt me." She peered over her shoulder once more looking at Stitch and then Dallas, and then finally shifting back to the road in front of them. Adelaide was relieved once they finally pulled up to a house. More so because she knew they could finally really start to take care of Dallas, and get him feeling better. Her eyes widen in disbelief as she watched all the people begin to pour out of the house. 'How could this one house, house this many people???' She thought as her gaze began shift from one face to another.

At his question, Anya shrugged. "About anything," she answered. There was probably nothing she could do to help with anything he was talking about. With as little information as she has about it, she really couldn't make a stand against or for anything. If what he said is true, then Genevieve was clearly a more strict woman than she had imagined her to be. She just hated not being able to help. She didn't like the strained rift that it had caused between them. "Seth, I don't like knowing what you do. I'm sure it's obvious. But I don't believe that it's something you're trapped into doing. There's got to be something that can be done. You're not a horrible person. I refuse to believe otherwise. If there's anything that can transfer those jobs to someone else, then I'll help with whatever I can. You said it yourself that you take no enjoyment from it. I want to believe that what you said is true. If there's a way to change the outcome of a mission, then by all means, I'll brainstorm a better way to handle it. I just... I just want to help."
(It's okay! Don't worry about it. ^^ )
Matthias parked the truck and hopped out. Together, he and Stitch carefully moved Dallas out of the back of the truck. A couple of the blankets had to be removed in the process, but the was still enough to keep him warm. They got the boy out, and once more, Stitch carried him towards the door. By now, he was completely limp in the man's arms, his head propped up against his shoulders and eyes barely cracked open. He had reached the limit of his energy. Even with the blood loss slowed for the moment, he wasn't out of the woods yet. Whatever repair he still needed would be done while he was unconscious and closely monitored. As they walked up the porch, the doctor ordered a teenage girl standing in the doorway to go prepare one of the beds. In an instant, they had disappeared inside.
Matthias watched them go, staying back to help Adelaide with her things as well as make sure she didn't face the crowd on the porch alone. No one would hurt her, of course. They might be werewolves, but they weren't savages. but he still didn't want the girl to have to suffer through interactions with them when so much strangeness had already happened today. "There's nothing else we'll be able to do now," he said, turning to the girl. "Why don't we go in and get cleaned up? I'll tell someone to put something on for lunch as well."

Seth gave a sad smile. "As glad as I am to hear that, I'm afraid there's little you can do to help change it. Much as I hate to admit it, I am trapped in this career. This is the Rider Genevieve trained me to be. Right from day one she was grooming me to be a killer. I just didn't see it until it was too late." He shook his head and looked out toward the setting sun. It was a long ways off from disappearing, but it was a big ball of fire in the western sky, slowly sinking. Seth kind of felt like that sun, stuck in an endless and unchanging pattern. Sure, there were times when he could, and did, deviate, but he always came back to the path, unable and unwilling to leave it completely.

(Don't sweat it. I completely understand the power of a good book. ^^ What is the title?)
When he paused in the middle of his sentence, his eyes looking beyond her, Anya was confused as to what had stolen his attention. A second later provided her an answered. Glancing behind her, she looked to find Cami standing there. She hadn't even heard her approach. Then again, he focus had been solely on the conversation at hand. The young woman shook her head. "No, I believe that was all," she replied, trying to sound as casual as possible. Her gaze flickered back to Seth, but whatever it was that she was looking for, she didn't seem to find. "I think it's time to head back to the others."

(Okay. I apologize if my post isn't the best. I promise, it'll get somewhat better as we go along. Hopefully. If you don't want the font/color in my posts, just tell me. I like to make each response different so people can tell which part of my response is for them and what's for someone else.) It had been four long years since the last time she walked through the streets of Rouen. A decent sized city maybe five days ride from the capital, most of its visitors are people moving inward from the coast, looking for rest, goods, or a place to lie low. While it wasn't the largest city on the map, the city was still divided into two parts: the section where the high and mighty paraded around in fancy silks, and the slums. It was easy to tell which area you were in by the condition of the buildings and the company that walked beside you. Most folks didn't have any business in the slums, but the brown haired woman in her forest green cloak was heading straight for it. See, what most folks didn't know was that prices were better in the slums. People were desperate for anything, and would usually sell supplies and food at cheaper prices than they should. Hunger and threat of loosing their home to debt collectors usually did that to people.
Thayer casts her sights around the different store fronts, trying to remember where the book store she dealt in last time was. She was fairly certain she had taken the right direction. Over the bridge that ran through the swift running brook that cut through the southern corner, isolating it from the rest of the city, and second turn on the right. Yet so far, her searching had only brought up futile results. Perhaps she should ask for directions? Then again, how hard could it be to find one book store? Ten more minutes passed, and the woman was about to call it a quits on this road when her eyes found the faded signed swaying on one good rope. No one had bothered to fix it, and she doubted anyone ever would. Satisfied, she crossed the street and entered into the store.I’ll get a reply up later today ^^ i know this is from 4 months ago but would you still be interested in this? no hard feelings if no lol
