(Please be literate, obvious blood warnings from the beginning. Take mature content to PM's)
Her head throbbed. Focusing on anything past that was becoming increasingly difficult and her mind wandered to the bottle of Advil in her bag. Where was her bag? That was the first thought that concerned her, not why was she in an alleyway behind the bar she had been drinking in. She selt like she had been chewing on cotton balls, dry with the vile lingering taste of Tequila, always a bad idea. As the fug began to clear from her mind she opened her eyes, lying on her back staring up at the night sky, so polluted by the city lights that even the brightest stars didn't shine through, even the moon only made a feeble attempt, a waxing crescent that seemed dull against the dark sky.
Everything hurt, a dull ache that started in her jaw and spread all the way through her body. Ears throbbed as though she had been listening to loud music although she remembered the music in the bar had not been particularly loud. She tried cautiously to move. It wasn't unlike her to end up in this sort of situation after a night out, loose morals and a wickedly sharp tongue often got her in to trouble. There was something different about this time though, the lingering, persistent scent of blood.
She sat up with a little effort, her head spinning as she fought the sudden wave of nausea that rose from the pit of her stomach. Only once the uncomfortable feeling had subsided did she look about her. She wondered if it had rained, her back felt damp and the concrete below her hands was wet. She lifted her right hand to brush a loose strand of hair away from her pale face noticing it was dark, crimson staining her pale skin. She shrieked wondering what sort of trouble she had gotten herself in to this time, automatically assuming it was someone else's blood, before deciding to inspect her own frame in an attempt to find the source.
After a rapid search she could find no obvious wound that would lead to this amount of blood loss, only a small, rapidly healing mark on her neck.

Further down the alley, a young man and woman appeared to be very much into each other. He had her against the brick wall, and they appeared to the same goal in mind. They each had their hands on the other’s shirt, and she started to unbutton his. That was as far as she got, because he had moved his mouth to kiss her neck, or so she thought. In a few short seconds, she went from kissing him to lying at his feet, dead. He took a step away and wiped his hand across his mouth before re-buttoning his shirt. He showed no regret for what he had just done. After all, this was his routine: find a girl at a bar or a club, flirt with her, act like he wanted to have her way with her, lead her outside, and kill her.
Lucas walked back toward the alley entrance and the bar, but he stopped a few yards away from the girl. He mumbled some swear words under his breath, wondering why the hell she was there. She hadn’t been there when he had entered the alley with the other girl, and he believed it was possible that this was an act she was putting on. He didn’t have very many fans among police departments or vampire hunters, so he waited to see what she would do once he noticed him.

Lucas watched the girl pull herself up. He narrowed his eyes slightly at her, still believing that this could be an act. As she spoke, he crossed his arms and made sure to stay in the shadows. He was much more comfortable in the shadows because they kept his face obscured. Also, he just felt more comfortable there. He uncrossed his arms briefly to push a hand through his hair before recrossing them.
"I could ask you the same thing," he finally said, not daring to step into the light to reveal his face. He made sure to stand in a spot to keep the dead body out of her line of sight. He still saw this encounter going many ways, and he didn't want to end up dead or fighting for his life (or what remained of it, anyway).

As soon as Remy mentioned the word "blood," he felt his thirst for the liquid flare up again despite just having fed. Lucas then took a few deep breaths to calm himself and the thirst. Thankfully he hadn't approached her or the puddle of blood after hearing the word. That would have been a dead giveaway of what he was - pun not intended.
"I don't think anyone would have survived an injury that serious," Lucas said with a shrug, looking from Remy to the puddle. Things were beginning to make more sense to him, and while he no longer believed that she was a hunter, he still didn't trust her. "But how are you sure that it's not your own blood?"

Lucas shrugged once and pushed a hand through his hair, finally stepping into the dim light so she could see his face. He made sure to keep the body of the dead girl out of her line of sight because he didn’t want her to freak out and immediately assume the worst about him. Despite what he had just done, he felt that he was a decent person because he only killed for survival.
“Whatever,” he finally said before walking past her, beginning a mental countdown of how long it would take her to find the body. He hoped to be gone before she did, but he knew he couldn’t count on it. If they had been in a less busy part of town, he would have taken off in a run, but he had to worry about the bar patrons possibly seeing that. He preferred for his secret to remain as intact as possible.
