i believe i knew lily when i was on here before(and on the original wcf otd)
it's no problem if nobody knows me i was just curious and i apologize if i'm intruding
i was dovvie xx(the same screenname i use here) on the original forums.
before i was dovvie xx i was Dovesong, actually, but that goes back easily to 2013.

wow, congrats! i'm in university now, too.
i think last time i talked to you i was in a completely different relationship... now i've been with my current bf for a year(our aniv was yesterday hehe). and i had a really bad depressive episode during august where i just wasn't doing well and my anixety was horrid and i got medication, so that happened but the underlying cause was the stress/anxiety about moving to uni but i'm here and thriving so at least i got through that! yikes
i'm trying to think of major things, but like wow i can't believe i found this place again.
i think i'm gonna text/email/dm rainy tonight and check up on her as well
it's so crazy

lil - i mean, i'm liking it, but it's tough. especially psychology. x-x i'm currently trying to prep and study for my psyc december final(which is technically a mid term cause it's a full-year course), which isn't even until dec 4th.
thank you so much! it's really nice to have someone outside the walls of my offline life to hear about my issues lol. it's mostly just me always over-worrying and thinking of the worst possible scenarios. i missed talking to you too! if you don't mind me asking, what are you in school for?
i completely forgot to text rainy, omg. i'll do that this weekend. i'm heading home for the weekend, my brother and his fiance are having their engagement party tomorrow night at a local bar. i mean my home is only an hour and a half from my university but still hehe.
mint - i'm alright, how are you!

mint - thank you! you have a long weekend? owo what holiday? i'm canadian so i'm kind of an outlier on most places like these haha
oh geez, interests.... uh.... netflix/tv series(jane the virgin, the society, greys anatomy, etc. i could go on all day), i used to love writing but now i've kind of fallen out of it a bit(university does that to you x-x), uhm marvel/dc films, twenty one pilots, post malone, the good lovelies(who are from my town!), i mean i'm willing to talk about mostly anything, lol.
lily - yeah, that's what i keep telling myself. i just need to pass, that's really all that matters. in high school, it was different. you needed specific grades and a high enough average to get you into places and get you scholarships, but college/uni is more like: C's get degrees. (<-- thats something my brother says, who's in his second round of college)
that's awesome! i'm so proud of you! i haven't picked a major/minor yet, that's all due in february for me. i'm kind of leaning towards philosophy and psychology right now. but my concern is, where does a BA majoring in philosophy get me career wise? you know?
thank you, i'd tell him but that'd be pretty odd hehe

Yeah college is pretty chill compared to high school. You get the same degree with average grades than you would with a bunch of A's. And you have time until you have to choose! The career thing is hard, but you can still research about it. |

Winter: Do you know about scansion? Dov: Veteran's Day! It's on the 11th. Pfft. I've only heard of Marvel/DC and Twenty One Pilots out of all of that, to be honest. Huuum. I watch a fair bit of Netflix, though for some reason the only shows I can think of are Lucifer and Good Omens (the latter of which is Amazon Prime though). |

lil - yeah, super chill. except my campus is huge so walking to classes in the weather we're currently having.... :/ it's too cold and too snowy and it's only the start of november! x-x geez. we're until a weather advisory for 15cm(about 6 inches) of snow in the next 24 hours.
but yeah, i still have a few months to mull it over. my mom's been researching a few things and my school's website has a list of career paths that each major can funnel you into, so that's neat.
mint - oh wow! we don't have a long weekend. my uni just cancelled all monday classes that were 10:30-11:30 for the services being held here. i just got back from my 12:30 class. owo
well still! mutual interests nonetheless. d: i've been a fan of t.o.p since blurryface came out, but like before they got big. so blurryface hadn't really popped off yet. i really enjoy their earlier music better though, it's edgier lol.
lucifer is sooooo good! i can't wait for the new season to come out and binge it hehe. i'll have to look up the other show though.

it's really pretty, i'm about to hop on a bus from my residence building to my boyfriends and friend's house, i'm pretty sure the roads are starting to get a little dicey... eek. its mostly just the wind that made is freezing when i walked to my 12:30 class.
i need to have a day where i just research and put some thought into it... but budgeting that into my schedule is so freaking hard.
mind if i rant about financial issues?? lol i just need to get it out.

Also, I'm pretty sure I liked TOP before Blurryface? I distinctly remember liking other pieces of their music before that. Pffft. Apparently I'm not the only one who listened to the earlier stuff though.
I mean ... each cliffhanger is slowly killing me. I love all the characters and I am concerned with the fact I'm invested in all of them. @.@

mint - all good! i only had one class instead of two, which was fine d;
yeah. they're earlier stuff is great! nah, a lot of people started listening to them during vessel, but i didn't really hear about them until blurryface first dropped. i actually first heard about them from someone on the original wcf, lol
omg i know! i recently finished it probably around the beginning of august.... i'll probably re-watch it soon. i'm trying to get into a new series cause i just finished jane the virgin.
lil - i did, no worries. the bus was 20 minutes late though, ugh. i think i'll have a bit of time this weekend. i thought i was gonna be a bit buried with the two papers i have due two days consecutive, but turns out i spent all day today kinda chipping away at the one so i think i'm just enough ahead. omg i also bought a christmas tree and decorations with my friends/my bfs roomates today! so christmasseeeey
ok -deep breath-
so im broke and have like no money and neither does my bf and we're just trying to scrape by with my credit card. my parents send me 50$ a week but between supporting myself and my bf for groceries and bills and whatnot, as well as trying to go out and have fun like once in a blue moon, money is SO tight. where my bf works here(in the city), they cut his hours during the holiday season because it's a hardware store and he's a cashier. so.... he's making less money which worsens our situation. he's decided as of this weekend that he's going to drive home(roughly hour and a half drive) every weekend and stay at my house/his friends) and work at our old work(mcdonalds) to even out the money.
so if he's driving back to our hometown, i might go back and work every OTHER/every TWO weekends. i'm not quite sure if i should, it might not be worth it because schoolwork. opinions?

Don't worry about the length! I told you it's fine if you rant, didn't I? As for your situation, I can only say to do what you feel like you need to do, but don't exhaust your energy trying to balance too many things. I can't really offer any other suggestions since I'm still living with my parents and single forever so I haven't had to worry about earning my own money to get groceries and stuff but if you come up with a plan to work, then as long as it's a good plan, you should be okay, but don't stress yourself out trying to do everything at once. If you can, maybe ask your parents for a little more money each week? Just until you figure something out? |
