As far as Cap, I totally agree. At first, I wanted Bucky to take it, especially seeing as he was his best friend, has a metal arm, and has the serum himself. But oh well. Sam’s a great guy too. And if I were to imagine them in some Avengers level threat scenario, I could much more imagine Sam barking orders and pointing a finger like Cap than I could see Buck doing. Damn, why’d Cap have to do Buck like that tho lol

That’s actually a really good review and I’ll definitely have to check it out. I like Pattinson, which is mainly why I wanted to watch it before. But based on what you’ve said, it sounds like a good movie!

Did you see the new Marvels movie? I’m going to wait for that one to come onto DVD and streaming. I am going to see Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes this coming weekend, so I can’t exactly splurge on buying tickets to both movies xD

Yes, I did see the Marvels actually! Just this past weekend. I’d give it a… 4.5, MAYBE, 5/10. It had some strengths, but those were ultimately overshadowed by the faults, at least in my opinion. Still, it was entertaining and not as horrible as Ant Man 3 🤢

I will definitely let you know!! I can’t wait!  Good to know, haha. I liked the Ant-Man movie because it’s Marvel. But I also agree it wasn’t the best. I did enjoy it, but honestly I feel like I enjoyed it most because I saw it with my family and we had a good time. I think I need to watch this movie again because I’m definitely forgetting what the movie was like xD |

I was just really disappointed that Kang was defeated by ants. Everything was going pretty good up until that point. I liked the showcasing of his powers, but then they threw that all down the drain. Imagine Thanos getting beaten by ants. I didn’t find that funny or cute, that’s like an insult to your next big bad 😭😭 You don’t even need Avengers to fight this guy if you can just have an army of ants swoop in. But it was still entertaining. I’m glad if you enjoyed it! Watching movies with your family’s the best, and what’s most important rlly 😄

About the Ant Man movie, I really liked it, but it disappointed me for more personal reasons. The trailer was teasing a very overarching theme of Ant Man doing anything to get the time back that he lost to be with Cassie and see her grow up. The Kang line really sold it "I can give you what you want, more time".
Although the movie did touch upon this, it wasn't nearly as much as the trailer suggested. The line didn't even refer to the theme, either! And most people wouldn't really care, and would chock it up to Marvel trailers being misleading to keep surprises. But I can't.
That theme from Ant Man reminds me of the relationship between my dad and I. You see, my parents are divorced, and until I has 7, I spent half of the time with my mom, the other half my dad. I lived with my dad full-time for half a year when my mom was saving up to move to Canada by living with her friend a few hours away, and when she actually moved. My parents made the decision to have me move to Canada since they had better supports for my autism, and for other reasons. I went from seeing my dad full time to every six weeks at best or every three months at worst. I'm very close with my dad so this was really hard for the both of us, and the majority of the time spent was over skype calls. My dad got a job in upstate New York, a few hours away from my mom's. We managed to see eachother every other weekend and over breaks. But I knew that my dad would do anything to have more time with me.
In a way that wish was granted during COVID, when a six-week stay turned into five months due to my dad's area having less cases than my mom's.
Fast forward to February, I am with my dad over my college's reading week when the movie drops. I am really excited to see this movie with my dad, as we are both huge Ant Man fans, and because the themes of the trailers hit home for us. And we loved the movie, but I felt like the experience of watching it with my dad would have been so much more impactful if we were both absorbing the theme of lost time together.

Aw I’m sorry to hear that about your situation Bramble <3 That’s so sweet about you and your dad. I wish the movie touched a little more on that theme too, now that you bring it up. Hadn’t looked at it like that. Seemed a little too-jokey at times when the more serious themes of father and daughter and lost time could’ve been explored further

Hey bramble!! I actually agree with that. I remember watching the movie vs watching the trailer and being very surprised!
I’m sorry to hear that about the situation you’ve gone through ): that’s got to be tough ): At least it sounds like the marvel movies are a great way to bond with your dad! That’s how I bond with my dad, too. We always go to see the new marvel movies or Star Wars movies together!! That’s why I’m a little disappointed that we aren’t seeing the marvels in theaters. But I just can’t spend that much money right now.

^^’ speaking of the jokey vs. serious theme… I’m all for a good laugh. And I love a lot of the comedy in the marvel movies. Everything is so fun and quotable! But lately.. I do feel like In certain movies there has been humor that was misplaced or like idk… too fast? Like you’re not given a chance to really digest it or something xD but one of my greatest memories is laughing in the movie theaters with my Mimi. We would always have so much fun<3 |

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!!! I saw The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes!!! It was amazing!!!! It really held true to the book and it was just so great! All the actors/actresses were amazing and it was just <333 I can’t wait to buy it on dvd so I can watch it again and again. Plus, Tom Blyth <3 Man, it was just so great.

They’re all great but also so different, haha. I grew up with Tobey as Spider-Man. So he just is Spider-Man, ya know? He’s iconic. And ya can’t compete with the original Spider-Man. HOWEVER, I absolutely LOVE Andrew. He is my spirit animal. He is me. I just love him. And I want more movies with him because he’s amazing. And I just love how he plays Spider-Man. BUTTTTT~ I also love Tom Holland, and he’s a beautiful human. And his Spider-Man is also so much fun. I think they all just bring different aspects of Spidey together and it’s so hard to choose. I think, though… if I have to choose… Tom’s movies are by far my favorite of the Spider-Man movies. But Andrew might be my favorite Spider-Man? I don’t even know how to choose, oh my. I might regret this choice xD This is so hard. But that’s my answer xD |
