Mint; haha, much pain, that is for sure ;-; Loki is a very pained character ;-; Poor Loki Exactly. Dark World is next. @.@ I'm scared. Very scared. It is bad. But RP partner goes off-canon in some places and I'm hearing hints about a bad thing happening which has nothing to do with that and I'm ... *small screaming* That aside though I still need to rewatch it because last time I watched Thor was something like 2 years ago. That is too long to accurately remember any details.

I think it was almost 5 years before Magnus Chase was published that I started looking into Norse mythology. This was because we'd heard a radio channel that Rick Riordan was going to do Norse mythology next and I wanted a head start. So I knew a whoooooole lot, along with having run into the myths in things like Eight Days of Luke and Loki's Wolves. In our B & N it's across from the manga so I know full well where it is. I just hit the library and keyword searches usually brings up a lot of what I want. I've been planning to branch out a little better. Oooooh yes. I read 1602. I liked 1602. It was fun. Forgot about that. I started to love Greek Mythology when I started to read Percy Jackson, and then I grew to love the other mythologies after reading his other books as well! Although, if I have to choose, I feel like Greek is my favorite because it is the one I am most familiar with. I love Norse because of Thor and Loki and all that, but I am not as familiar with it as a whole XD Oh XD I don't often go to B&N, but I wish I did (: I didn't know what 1602 was, so I just looked it up on amazon, and I read as much as I could with the free trial. It looks interesting! XD I think I love ... *is about to say Greek but then all other mythologies I've researched suddenly start breathing down my neck* I ... I think I love all of them. X') Each of them have there own style and they're just really very cool. Greek and Roman are really very close, but I also studied the cultures themselves and while I really love the Greek myths and gods I am fascinated with the Roman rulers and history. Egypt is also very amazing and I love how several of the deities are almost the same being but still each themselves (Ra being a good example). The fact that they mesh with animals and also have a decent representation for females (Isis is awesome and Bastet is better) as well as a killer Underworld (pun not intended) means I really love those stories as well. The culture is also something I loved researching and truthfully a lot of people don't have a very accurate picture of what ancient Egypt was or what happened within it. I'm slowly, I as I tell people, working my way between the mythologies and the cultures associated with them and gathering as much info as I can while I go. It isn't a coincidence that I'm following the Riordan publication example. So, for now I'm working on Norse mythology and if I were to guesstimate I'm about 70% through the mythology research and .... 0% through the cultural part. :/ I need to seriously learn more about the people because then it puts everything into context and makes it more amazing. But even with that being the case, Norse Mythology has started to seriously grow on me because of one reason and one reason only ... Loki. Does that sound fan girly? It has nothing to do with Marvel and actually is an interest which predates me ever having heard Loki was in it (should it be a pet peeve of mine that Marvel's Loki has black hair instead of red? I'll let it slide only because the actor is amazing and truly black hair goes with green aesthetic). *cough* But back to this long winded history/myth geek out. Loki is a president that I don't often see within the other myths of other cultures. The gods within other cultures can have the human like ability to do really good things or really bad things - that isn't new - but Loki manages to go a step further somehow within Norse mythology and ends up following very nicely into my favorite sort of character trope. Otherwise know as, Loki is such a grey character that there is no possible way he tilts toward one side of the spectrum or the other. Which is very fitting considering that's practically his whole nature. Then Norse Mythology goes a step further and makes him a rather sympathetic character because the gods are fairly awful to him (and he's awful back) and then he's supposed to be the guy to take them down. This is just the sort of resolution which I hate in fiction so my whole brain ends up screaming as I reread the Ragnarok myth for the millionth time and nothing has changed. So it rather vividly sticks as a mythology to me because Loki, Thor, and Odin are defining characters who literally pull all we know about Norse mythology along. We know very, very little about everyone else, which limits our character cast and who I have the ability to care about. Clearly I'm not the only one who find Loki interesting because I've read a total of 7 books who have him as either the main character or the main antagonist. Norse mythology is very limited though in what we know about it because we just have the two Eddas and that's about it. So no matter how hard I search for more info I'm always gonna find knew content for Greek, Egypt, and Roman, but Norse mythology is pretty stagnate in what more I can get from it. No matter how frustrating that is. Because of that, watch me fall back on Marvel because at least it's giving me something to vent my latest mythology related special interest into or visa versa. Generally, there isn't much more Norse mythology to be familiar with other than Thor and Loki because that's all we have and it's frustrating but true. If you skipped that monster paragraph I don't blame you. XD 1602 is very interesting! I loved it. Would recommend. Also, I like Doctor Strange, so that's one of the reasons. There are probably a lot of parallels in it which I missed. It took me till the last page to realize who Peter Parker/Spiderman was.

Mint; I know, it's so hard to choose a favorite XD especially because I like the gods in each of the myths Mythology is just really fun and interesting to learn about, and I'm really glad that Rick Riordan brought them to life the way he has (: I really need to read Percy Jackson, the Kane Chronicles, and Magnus Chase again so that I can revisit all of them XD Loki is definitely one of those characters that keeps you interested. And even though he's generally the villain, you still find yourself rooting for him because, even though you don't want him to win, you also don't want him to lose XD That's awesome that you're doing a lot of research on the mythologies, though (: Most of the research that I do is history, haha.
i didn't skip it XD
Funnily enough, the last page of the free trial was where Nick Fury squished the spider that Peter was fascinated by XD

I say this as I sink deeper into YouTube videos devoted to it practically. Wow. I'm impressed you read it. It was 735 words. Yes ... I checked. I think the reason why I didn't make the connection was because I was too busy glazing over his (Peter's) name. And by the time actually put time into pronouncing it I thought he was just a random supporting character.

Will you have another marathon before captain marvel and end game? xD No, we just don't have time to watch them all over again. XD And if I suggested it my family would be like NOT AGAINWe might watch Infinity War again, though. The last time we saw it was New Year's Eve. With Thanos snapping at midnight. It was great. I wonder if they'd like Thor: Ragnarok or Black Panther, haha. I'm going to keep throwing out movies XDHopefully you can do that! Have a marvel marathon before End Game (; At least you're able to read the comics! Have you ever been to a comic shop? I can just picture reactions to Hel. My sister would be nickpicking the inconsistency between mythology and the movie (My mental voice of her: Wait ... she's Loki's daughter. And she doesn't look like that. And what even is all this other stuff?) Black Panther ... hum ... I don't know. It might not be my top pick to show them. Maybe just Thor or Thor: Dark World would work better ... Hopefully! I at least want to finish what I haven't seen. No I have not! My B&N has a really large selection though if I wanted. But I've been picking off my libraries collection in fact. I have a very limited window of what I read though. XD Runaways and anything with Loki in it. Then a bit of Thor because filling in gaps since no-brainer that most of anything with Loki is in Thor - but not all of them so I have to fill in places. To be fair, none of Loki's kids are Loki's kids in the MCU. Not Hel(a), not Fenrir, not Sleipnir, Jormungandr doesn't even exist, etc. They were all born before him. Probably because Marvel made him younger by being Thor's brother instead of Odin's brother. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm very annoyed about this because ... just because. Hence why I have no problem with my RP partner's more hybrid mix of myths and marvel. But actually, what bugs me most about the Marvel universe - and at the same time what I like about it - is the changed dynamics between Loki being Odin's blood brother to him being Thor's. It messes with Odin's character in a way I was surprised about but the biggest change was Loki's and Thor's. They had the brother dynamic within the myths anyway, but actually making them brothers tosses angst in by default. It's interesting. My family would actually probably forget the thing about being Odin's brother. The kids Loki does not have in MCU they would not forget.

And also by changing this dynamic, Marvel was free to make Odin one of the worst dads in the universe. :') Topped only by Thanos and Ego. They made a lot of horrible dads.
And at the same time they gave Thor and Loki the best mom in the universe. 👍

Despite Thanos being psychotic, he still cared about Gamora, and even seem to be disappointed when Squidward died (I forgot his name oops). Odin did try, I mean when your first child turned out to be a psychopath who wants to take over the galaxy you need to take drastic measures with the next too. Ego killed almost all his children except Peter so he gets the worst father award.

I honestly don’t care to think about it much, since I know I’m going to love it anyways. I have heard it’s supposed to be pretty good though, so I am pretty excited.
I don’t know when I’ll see it though, we were planning on it tonight but my brother has play practice, tomorrow my parents and my other brother have a concert, Saturday there’s going to be a blizzard + it’s my mom’s birthday, and on Sunday the only brother who can drive is leaving for Ireland on vacation. There’s no hope for having my parent’s take me either because my mom gets too stressed out watching marvel movies in the theater and my dad thinks they are the stupidest movies ever. ._.

I might not have all of the facts right, though. Maybe I'll link an article in a spoiler. It started when Brie Larson commented on diversity and women in the film industry while interviewing with a female (I believe) POC interviewer, and a BUNCH of people construed this as "Brie Larson hates white men and doesn't want them to see the movie." I don't necessarily think that's true, but now there has just been added crap upon crap that she has "divided the MCU fanbase like Rey did in Star Wars" and is therefore "destroying the Marvel Cinematic Universe's ten years of work". Now, I personally am not a huge fan of Rey, but I think its extremely unfair to call Carol Danvers a Mary Sue when people haven't even seen her movie. I can agree that I don't want her to single handedly defeat Thanos, I just want to see her team up with the Avengers. But there are also some salty that Black Widow hasn't gotten a movie yet, and I think that's also a driving force, because those who claim to not like Brie Larson's character because of her politics are making no sense when considering ScarJo's politics. Anyhow, I digress. I'm really frustrated by the whole situation, because I wish people would realize that no, Brie Larson is not tearing the fandom apart; the people arguing that anybody who goes and sees her movie is a feminazi are contributing to that. I mean
