Cloverwood also I don't mean to be like, overstepping or rude, but I'm really struggling to read your post headers with such a busy background ;-; I really want to be able to read everyone's replies but it's hard (esp because they do look pretty! I want to be able to see them with the formatting!) I don't think it's fair to ask you to change without offering a solution of sorts, so I did a mock-up with a semi-transparent background to the text so it has higher contrast? I tried to keep the same vibe while making it so the blocks of text were easier to read. I just don't want to accidentally skip your character's responses or misinterpret them because my brain can't see words right. ;-; Applestar
Open to Interact, Observing Cherryspark
 Applestar sat atop the cottage on the roof, watching over her Clan and the serene land they all sat upon. This was a favorite spot of hers; high vantage, clouds closer to her pelt and a tantalizing view of the geese that flew by in their flock. The roof was overgrown with vines, ivy and freshly budding tansy. Cat-shaped spots lined it all, fur in abundance.
The molly lapped at her paw, sticky with poppy seeds. Her whiskers wiggled with delight, a curl forming in her tail at the taste. This was truly the life.
Applestar's attention glazed over to Cherryspark, sitting by her lonesome in the garden below. She inspected the molly; shoulders heightened, fur ruffled and eyes squinty, the sign of a Warrior.
"What an uptight she-cat." Applestar's inner monolgue mrowled a chuckle, amusment on her muzzle. Though, even through this amusement, she pondered the younger cat for a moment with a solemn expression in her eyes.
"This is what Clan life on the outside does to you..." Applestar shook her head and felt her heart bleed for the cherry colored kitty, knowing her plight all too well.
"Sweet kit, never did you deserve the trauma that fell upon you." She drew a breath in and considered padding over to Cherryspark but decided against it. She knew exactly the spice of cat she was and thought it best to let her come out of her shell on her own time, by her own paw... and hopefully, without claw.
Applestar admired her own ginger-auburn pelt; fluffy, clean and without injury. She felt pride gazing upon it and twitched her nose, allowing herself to loaf comfortably with squinty eyes that were not guarded but relaxed.
"She will come to see that one can live happily in peace."

omg I'm so glad that's what you were going for!! I felt so bad but my eyes couldn't do it ;-;
it's... not the most intuitive thing. Opacity is really annoying without CSS. I had to look a few things up to make sure I was doing it right (tbh, it's the reason I don't use image backgrounds. They are really weird to work with sometimes). Divs are super powerful tho, you can do most anything with them if you hit them hard enough.
all I did is change the "span" background to a "div" (span backgrounds make the little bars around the text, div makes a box around the entire chunk) and then change the hexcode color to rgba (the 0.8 being opacity) (I also added a bit of margin and padding so you can see the background around the text) and bam! that's it.

AHH i would recommend!! it's super good !! are they??? the movie wasn't bad but it was so... mid compared to the books. tbh I felt like they pushed past the best parts of the book (the maze and the culture that was built in the square) so they could drag out the more action-y end :/ |

Brownie you are Lord of BBCode. this changes the game. :lol: I've picked up a few things over the long years haha tbh the best way to learn is to look at other people's code and figure out how it works. I have a thread on the art forum that has a bunch of code examples and is supposed to be a place to mess around with how they work n stuff. Also, to never, EVER use the top bar for anything. it just puts them in spans which makes a mess and breaks things ;-; contain your text styling in divs, they are so much more stable. It's a bit more complex to learn the different arguments, but it will absolutely make your life easier in the long run. |

Idk how true it is, though given twitter users love spreading so much misinformation. I gotta agree tho, i enjoyed the books so much more than the movies. But i did like the picks for those they had portray them — specifically Kee Hong Lee and Thomas Brodie-sangster for minho and newt :3 |
