Leopardcry Hisses at Hatchhusk & Patrol {--} with Hatchhusk, Duskfeather & Blazetumble Leopardcry was in camp, just enjoying herself. She was proud one of her kits had now earned their warrior name, and she knew his littermates would join him soon. Even one of her adopted litter, Bristlefur had graduated last moon. They were strong warriors, and she was proud of every single one of them. She remembers when they were tiny wriggling kits pouncing on her tail, now they were strong, powerful warriors. She couldn’t explain to any cat how great being a mother was.
She didn’t expect, however, to be met by Hatchhusk, again. She could feel his gaze on her. Didn’t he understand she had already denied him? He was like a kit to her. Nothing else. “Stop staring at me with those stupid moon-eyes!” She hissed, flicking her tail in the air. She had asked him already, she shouldn’t have to ask him again.
Leopardcry walked out with Duskfeather and Blazetumble. She was glad to be able to go with Blazetumble, the tom was her first-born of her litter. She hadn’t told any of her kits their birth-order, but this would make a good time. She felt her kit inch closer to her, his smaller pelt not as warm as her longer one. “I remember, when you were kits..” She mewed. “You were first, you know.” She purred. “Blazekit, then Pumpkinkit, Marshkit, Bumblekit and tiny Fallowkit.” The thought made her voice crack. “Fallowpaw.” She sighed. “I hope your sister is okay. She is strong.” Leopardcry didn’t like to show any weakness. She pushed her flank against Blazethroat, her kit. Hopefully her warmth would keep him comfort.
They moved toward the Burdockclan border, the untouched snow fascinating her, she had never admitted it, but she loved snow. And it was a fluffy, yet funny feeling to her paws. Leopardcry purred to Duskfeather’s stories, the old deputy was retelling tales only Leopardcry could hardly remember, and some, she didn’t even know. The retelling of the clans was something the molly loved to hear. If not for those cats, they wouldn’t be here now, and Leopardcry wouldn’t have her kits with her at this moment. “Thank you, Duskfeather. But I believe we should start our trek back to camp, the cold is starting to get under my pelt.” She meowed calmly, and once the patrol agreed, started to make their way back to camp.
Leopardcry looked to Blazetumble, “I’m proud of you.”

Stargazer Gives Hawkheart a bunch of helpful tips (+++) & Border Patrol || with Hawkheart, Beechfawn The snow was coming down as winter stretched on, piling snow outside of the old house Plumclan had made their camp in. It was nothing like her old housefolk's house, only half of it seemed to remain, but it at least reminded her of home from time to time, the home she ha shared with Mari and Plumeria. But living in Plumclan meant that she got to live and know her kin that remained. If they hadn't been kicked out the twolegs would have sold the kits when they were old enough. Sometimes Stargazer shared stories of their mother with the apprentices and what life was like with the twolegs, but she never mentioned that they wouldn't be together now if they had stayed.
They were now well out of camp, assigned to a border patrol. Stargazer wasn't fully sure what they were going or where they were going so she stuck close to the clan cats, taking note of where they were stepping and following their lead. She had spent many moons now in Plumclan, but it still didn't feel like him. Being with Mari was like home, and Mari was gone now.
A scent crossed Staragazer's nose, kind of doglike yet... not. She didn't reconize it at first until she remembered the day that she wasn't allowed outside because a fox had come through the yard and the twolegs were scared it would come back. This scent had been all over the yard the next day, just not as fresh.
They soon found the fox, and it was actually kind of... cute? It was young and small, each of its rib cages showing. She knew that clan cats feared foxes and she knew she should too, but who could fear this fox? "What should we do now?" Hawkheart was the first to speak, and Stargazer stepped forward.
"Shoo! Go away!" She puffed out her fur, making her seem much larger than she usually was. The fox kit sweaked and turned tail, Stargazer running after it a few pawsteps before giving up. The fox would hopefully run all the way out of Plumclan territory before it knew it was safe, and hopefully stay out.
Returning to her patrolmates, Stargazer smiled. "I hope that worked? Maybe we should go after it to make sure it's gone, but we're pretty close to the border right?" [[ OOC here ]]

Kiteprickle ~ ~Gets a frostbitten tail and a runny nose after being stuck out in the snow. ~Tries to flirt with Beechfawn ~Helps Duskfeather Kiteprickle was taking a walk to clear her head, that day she had woken up met with a cold gust of wind signaling that leafbare was not going to rest this season, she had tried to joke with Beechfawn and it had backfired horribly. Maybe she was flirting a little but that didn;t justify him just ignoring her. The scene had been the peak her embarrassment will have ever reached. Kite removed herself from camp to a cold, long walk. Seeing the first few flakes of snow she dismissed it carelessly soon regretting it as it somehow got colder, she tried to find a nearby patrol but they had all gone and she realized soon, that she was stuck in the snow and would have to wait it out. Digging what was as close as she could get to a den she tried to stay shelter from the now fast-falling snow. Kiteprickle curled into her hole and started to feel a searing pain in her tail, then within moments it was gone and she couldn't feel her tail at all. Panicking she turned her head and let out a sigh of relief when she noticed it was still there, but her sigh was cut off by a gasp for air inhaling snow which left her nose in not-so-great shape. Later the same day she trudged into camp her earlier embarrassment forgotten. "Amberdapple?"
The next few days went by fast with the she-cat spending a lot of her time grooming, the medicine cats had her cutting back on patrols and work that could damage her already mangled an din pain tail. She has been grooming and working around camp helping Duskfeather before she even needed to ask. That morning she went to fix a few patches on the warriors den that needed fixing, she had also been able to talk to Beechfawn, she was still ignored. Kiteprickle learned her lesson to not go on any snow-walks over embarrassment.

Duststep Training patrol with Pineconepaw | Is craving mouse
Huddled under a pile of snow, Duststep was having a hard time keeping her eyes open. She was tired and hungry - she would kill for a mouse right now - but she couldn't just go back on the special training she had planned for Pineconepaw, not after she had roped Lilacshade into it. Her apprentice had seemed sick of her daily duties of hunting for the elders and cleaning their den lately, so she hoped sending her on a hide-and-seek mission instead of the boring regular hunting practice she had planned instead would cheer her up. Besides, it had taken her all night to find this hiding spot. Seeing the sun's golden rays on the horizon, she figured her apprentice would be waking up soon, and starting her search soon after. Which probably gave Duststep enough time to close her heavy eyelids for just... a... moment... OOC: Wrote both of these then tried to post them but apparently I had gotten logged out so it deleted them. Had to start over so this is a condensed version |:( Tansypaw Is feeling sleepy | Training patrol with Bristlefur | Finds crow feathers on his first outing and wears them
Tansypaw could barely keep his eyes open as he listened to his new mentor drone on about beginner fighting techniques. His little attention was diverted towards glances to the snowy white landscape outside the camp he couldn't wait to go explore once this was over. I don't caaaaaaaare about front paw blows. I want to be out exploring the territory like Orangepaw and Weedpaw! Eventually, Bristlefur noticed he wasn't paying attention and sighed, finally relenting and allowing Tansypaw to explore the territory. Grinning, Tansypaw immediately sprinted towards the door, accidentally bumping shoulders with a clanmate who was just entering who he didn't pay enough attention to notice as he yelled a quick "Sorry!" over his shoulder.
He was tired and the ground underfoot was cold, but the feeling of being outside the camp for the first time and the crunch the snow made underfoot as he sprinted as fast and as far as he could was exhilarating. This was the first time he'd been outside the camp, right? He'd gotten a strange dream last night before his ceremony; him and his brothers, young, by a rushing creek; a ragged orange she-cat he didn't recognize looking sorrowfully down at them before stepping away. If he'd recognized that creek and the lush green bulrushes surrounding it, he almost would've thought it meant something, but the sheer white landscape he saw stretching out before him was anything but.
He did see something standing out against the snow, though. As he slowed to approach the mass of dark feathers ahead, he realized it was a crow. Its head was ripped off; remains from a larger predator's meal, no doubt. Fascinated, he bent down to get a closer look, but what caught his eye were the dark blue feathers laying scattered around it. Tentatively, he stuck a bundle of the feathers into the fur of his tail, grinning as he swished his tail around to admire how they glinted ever so slightly in the light. They look good on me! I think I'll keep them. They'll be a reminder of my first day as an apprentice. Hearing Bristlefur catch up behind him, he turned to show them off to her. "Guess what? I just caught my first prey! I guess all that mossball hunting over the last moon paid off, I'm basically an expert by now" he purred gloatingly. A crow as one's first prey was pretty impressive, he figured - bigger than the tiny lizard he had watched Larchpaw haul in two moons ago, at least - and a little white lie to make himself look better in the eyes of his mentor wouldn't hurt anyone. "...But if you want to show me some advanced techniques I won't mind."
OOC: Sorry I didn't respond to his prompt with Orangekit last moon, I've been really busy :(

Larchpaw Patrol {--} with Forestfreckle, Wildclove & Dogpaw The bengal tom followed after his mentor, staying close to Dogpaw. It was cold, and Larchpaw didn’t like it one bit. What happened to the warm sun rays outside when he was a kitten? He sneezed from snowflake falling on his nose, the snow coming off in a massive burst of white powder from his face. He looked at his sister embarrassedly, before purring to himself. That was quite funny! He was interrupted by his mentor. He looked up to see Forestfreckle moving weirdly in the snow. He listened to her, watching her move slowly and delicately. How was he supposed to do that? He then listened carefully to the last instructions and moved to the patch of snow. He placed his paw, toe tips first, into it, it made him shiver, and made a large crunching sound. “This bits definitely patchy!” He purred.
They continued to work on his snow hunting crouch, and he eventually got quite good at it in the end. He even got to watch Dogpaw do it too! Atleast she has lighter fur to blend in, he thought jealously. He and Forestfreckle had to deal with these bright ginger pelts! He was focusing too much on his sister’s crouch when he heard a large scuffling sound behind him. He jumped into the air, fur on end; before falling face first into the snow. He quickly stood up, ready to run, before seeing a squirrel. His face went red, and he quickly shook out his fur, trying to get rid of the snow. “Look at me! I look like Blizzardwing like this!” He purred, prancing about with the snow over his ginger fur. He looked at Forestfreckle, “Maybe we could hunt like this!” He looked at her, but from her generous look he guessed that was a bad idea. Oh well.
He listened to Forestfreckle’s story, eyes wide. “No way! You can climb like a squirrel?” He shivered, shooing out the last bits of snow from his face. “Yeah! You gotta teach me that!” He jumped up in down in excitement. There was so much to learn as a warrior! He got startled by the oncoming blizzard. He was quickly guided away by Forestfreckle, watching Dogpaw in the background. “Unfair! I wanted to learn how to climb trees!” He scoffed, before going back to camp to dry off.

Orangepaw slunk away after his blowout with Thorncrawl feeling equal parts enraged and ashamed. It was the righteous fury of But I'm right! I know I'm right! mixed with the unpleasant realisation that he probably wasn't. After he had found a place in camp suitably secluded from everybody else, he curled up and waited for the day to end.
In truth, he'd woken up looking for a fight. It had only been a moon and Orangepaw was convinced his apprenticeship would never end. There were few things Orangepaw was certain of, least of all about himself, but he knew for sure he was ready to be a warrior. ... probably. He'd only caught moss-balls so far, but...
He thought enviously of his brother, Tansypaw, who seemed to approach everything with childlike wonder. Was training really that interesting? He seemed to get on so much better with his mentor too.
Oh, stars above, what if Tansypaw was made a warrior early?
The thought was unbearable to Orangepaw; he closed his eyes and resolved never to argue with Thorncrawl again.
(ooc: this is a nothingpost but my brain loves sticking to schedules so it must be posted 🙏)

Bumblepa- Bumble?! His pelt feels warm as Fawnstar announces his warrior name, he shuffles his paws embarrassedly, his sister is still missing but that thought was pushed away now it was HIS time! He stood straighter as his name was cheered from the cats around him. He couldn't help but whisper his new name to himself "Bumble(whatever his suffix will be)..." It didn't have that much of a ring to it but silenced himself as cats congratulated him and te others who had become warriors. He had sat resiliently against the cold night during the vigil. He had never felt so realeved when dawn finally came; he shook out his pelt from the frost and warmed himself in the warriors den, befooreee being assigned to a patrol, he walked with Hawkheart and Fawnstar. His first patrol as a warrior with the LEADER of plumclan! Just before he could start up a conversation Fawnstar grinned calling them to help fill in a badger hole. The musty scent bathed his tongue and he let a small growl out, the best part of it was jumping to pack it down for good measure and LEAVING! As he goes back to camp he slumps down in his nest, the snow clumps falling off his fur with small audible fumps. He remembers the congrats he got at the ceremony making his pelt warm with joy but remembers what Blizzardwing said; he falls slowly to sleep and his eyes close drearily "Well I hope Fallowpaw's doing okay..." FALLOWPAW! He sat up quickly his sister was still missing AND was missing her own warrior ceremony... There was nothing her could do and started feeling bad that he had basically LET her get caught! He knew deep down that it wasn't his fault but his drowsiness had gotten the last shred of logic in him. But luckily he was so exhausted he fell asleep after pacing for only FIVE minutes! OOC: lol I tried adding a bit of humor tell me if it worked! TwT Tags: Stannis Baratheon and Feathertalon

WILLOWMOUSE A change of pace. - recovers from whitecough - helps Hatchhusk negotiate with FlowerClan Being sick had one made one thing painfully clear. Willowmouse hated doing nothing. Her return to the elder's den, a cause of celebration to some, had felt like burying herself in an early grave. How could anyone stand it?! Well, she couldn't! Moons of rest be damned, it wasn't for her!
But what could she offer anyone at her age? All she had were opinions. The silver-flecked molly paused, tail twitching. All she had were opinions... Willowmouse had good opinions, last she checked. Good enough they might even be useful, in the right circumstances. Giving them out was practically all she did anyway these days. Why not make it official? She turned toward Fawnstar's den, a pep in her step.
--
In all her seasons of service, Willowmouse could've never imagined becoming a mediator. Much less enjoying it! The new sense of purpose was a breath of fresh air she was sorely lacking, rotting away in the elder's den. And she already has her first task- getting FlowerClan to cough up some of their well-stocked reserves of borage. She wouldn't pretend to really know anything about healing, but if Hatchhusk thought they needed it, then they must need it.
Willowmouse scooped up the packet of lungwort, following the warrior-turned-medicine cat out of the camp. They weren't coming back without making a trade today! She would make sure of it.

On patrol with Duskfeather, he was giving Marshpaw her final warrior assignment, Marshpaw shows off how perfect her fighting and hunting is. They do that dusk, then Marshpaw disappears into the show and sneaks up on Duskfeather who was looking around for her. “We should go back” Marshpaw meows from behind her mentor giving them a little fright. Marshpaw sat down with the other cats and Fawnstar was up higher, she gave Marshpaw the Name Marshfur, and She was now a warrior. During the ceremony Marshfur could hear stargazer and Leapordcry cheering, before Marshfur went to take part in her vigil. After her vigil, Blizzardwing brings over a mouse for her to eat and they share it, Marshfur says “Thank you so much Blizzardwing, I’ll see you later”. Marshfur then wonders over to the warrior den for some sleep then she saw Thornclaw and he decided to do tell her some Horrible puns but she laughs to them as they make Thronclaw very happy. Lilacshade As Bumblepaw received his name, Lilacshade’s chest felt as if it would burst with pride. He was her second apprentice, and though she had a lot of respect for Hatchhusk, it was obvious Bumblepaw would enjoy his life as a warrior much more. And that felt better. She cheered loudly for him as he stood up high, absorbing the praise of his clanmates. He was a strong apprentice. I’m almost surprised he wasn’t made a warrior earlier. After the ceremony, Lilacshade turned back to find Amberdapple, unable to wait to spend her new free time now that she was once again apprenticeless.
As the sun sank below the horizon, Lilacshade snuck into the medicine den, cracking the stalks of lavender with her paws and taking some from the stores back to her nest. Sure, maybe stealing these stalks wasn’t the kindest thing to do, but somehow she wasn’t worried that Amberdapple would be angry at her. The senior warrior laid the flowers down in her nest, rolling around a little bit in the scent. A few days earlier, Amberdapple had told her how much she loved the herbal, woodsy smell of the flowers, and from then on, Lilacshade was determined to have it for herself to impress the medicine cat. It’s very floral and… a bit strong! She almost sneezed as the scent hit her nose, but restrained herself. Tomorrow, she will notice. And then maybe we can have a real conversation about what we are.
The next day, Lilacshade ruffled out her fur, the smell of lavender still clinging to her. She practically bounced out of her nest towards Amberdapple, happy just to see her. She was now more free, now that Bumblepaw was done passing his assessment. Meeting eyes with the medicine cat, Lilacshade ducked her head, rumbling a purr. Her fiery orange spots stand out so much in the grey of leaf-bare… Just like how she stands out in my life, I suppose. Amberdapple had been the first cat she’d really fallen for, and it was getting difficult to continue without officially becoming mates. I want to see her say it. I want her to say that I’m hers and she’s mine. Even if we’re getting a bit old, I still feel like a lovesick apprentice around her!
As they went on their now daily walk, Lilacshade let out an awkward cough as they went by the barn on the borders. The sun was just rising slightly over the horizon, fingers of light painting the snow in a rainbow of colours, a moment of beauty as the day began. When Amberdapple shot her a playful, flirty remark, she stayed pensive, thinking about her next words carefully. “Amberdapple. I’m sorry to say it in this way but… Are we serious? I just want to know, you aren’t playing around, are you? It’s not that I think you aren’t taking me seriously, but I can’t stand it anymore.” Lilacshade padded up next to Amberdapple, so close that their breath warmed each of their noses. She gazed into her liquid golden eyes with her stony green gaze. “I want to be your mate, Amberdapple. And I want everyone to know.”
OOC -- Wow lilac/amber is real!! I wasn't expecting that but you go girl!!

Blazetumble Wants to patrol with Cloverfur & Hunting Patrol || with Stargazer, Thorncrawl His first moon of being a warrior hadn't been that bad, thankfully. No cat had died, and he hadn't been demoted. At the last gathering he had seen Burdockclan's skinny pelts and not many Flowerclan warriors had been able to go since their yellowcough outbreak. Plumclan and Yewclan seemed to be the best off and even Yewclan had lost a young warrior to a wolf. Plumclan warriors weren't doing too bad, their prey pile was full and nat many cats were sick.
It still made him worry. The end of leafbare was near, but what was in store for Plumclan? Were they really just going to have a peaceful leafbare or would some other tragedy come and bite them in the end?
Catching Cloverfur's eye, Blazetumble waved his tail to his father, wishing that he could patrol with him. Cloverfur seemed so calm and reasonable all the time, like he knew what he was doing and did it in confidence. Blazetumble was anything but confident and brave. He worried all the time, and sometimes it was nice to have a confident warrior to copy off of.
But no, he had been assigned to patrol with Thorncrawl and Stargazer two cats he didn't know very well. And they were hunting. Hunting patrols meant that he had to try and catch something while his clanmates watched, and probably fail. Hunting on his own was much easier anyways, why couldn't he just do that? Border patrols were only bad when they ran into another clan's patrol.
The air outside of camp was still cold, and this time he couldn't inch into his mothers pelt to stay warm, like he had done last time. This time he had to work and try even though it felt like his fur was freezing up at the ends. This is what a warrior does Blazetumble! Lets go, I bet their not looking at you anyways.
The patrol went on and made a few catches, none of them very good but better than nothing. Blazetumble had even managed to catch a skinny mouse somewhere, only stumbling over his paws once and was thankfully still close enough to catch the mouse. It was barely a mouthful, but it was something at least!
Thorncrawl was the first to scent the squirrel, and they spotted it a few pawsteps away. It was rather plump for a piece of prey in leafbare, something that would look great on the pile. Thorncrawl asked who wanted to try and catch it with her, and Stargazer shook her head. "I'm certainly not skilled enough to catch a squirrel! Blazetumble, why don't you try?" The cinnamon she-cat suggested, and Blazetumble had no choice but to agree.
Making his way to the other side of the squirrel, he suddenly burst out of the bushed. The squirrel, alarmed, bolted and ran straight into Thorncrawl's paws, who killed it swiftly. Blazetumble exhaled in relief. That wasn't that hard! Stargazer gave in a knowing look, and he turned from her gaze, staring at his paws. "Should we go back now?" Duststep Border patrol with Pineconepaw, Weedpaw, and Golddusk
When the patrol approached the roadside, Duststep could feel the fur along her back and tail stand up. It always did around here. Talking about it with Feathersong and Willowmouse had helped her feel a bit less guilty, at least. She wasn't worried for herself, nor for Golddusk or Pineconepaw; Golddusk was an experienced warrior in his own right, and Pineconepaw practically was too, ready to graduate any moon now. But she found herself subconsciously keeping herself between inexperienced Weedpaw and that path of death. The path's dark surface, revealed by the tracks of monsters rushing through, stood starkly out against the crisp white landscape, and would have been a nice place to get out of the snow practically up to Weedpaw's chest if it wasn't, well, what it was. The deep snowdrifts weren't much of a problem for the tall molly, but she kept a close eye on Weedpaw lest he decide to traipse onto the path. Luckily, though, he was probably the most responsible of the batch of new apprentices. Movement on the other side of the road caught her eye, and she looked up to stare with confusion at the gathering of barn cats across the way. Barn cats. There's so many... what do they want? Crouching, she flicked her ear to signal to the other cats to hide behind the large snowdrift pushed by the monsters onto the edge of the road, away from their view. "You all saw those barn cats too, right? Do you think they're planning to attack Plumclan? Let's stay here and keep an eye on them until we have an idea of what they're up to," she hissed quietly. "And Weedpaw," she said seriously, turning to the young orange apprentice, "you should go warn Fawnstar. Tell her we saw, uh-" she poked her head above the snowdrift briefly to get another glimpse of the barn cats before crouching back down- "maybe 15 to 20 of them gathered outside the barn." She stared at him expectantly, waiting for a couple seconds before nodding in the direction of the camp with a well, what are you waiting for? Go! Now! look in her eyes until he got up and sprinted away. Shaking her head, she looked up at Golddusk. "...Sorry for ordering your apprentice around. I just don't want him anywhere near here if I can avoid it, you understand."

Tansypaw Training patrol with Bristlefur, Dogpaw, Larchpaw, Leopardcry, and Wildclove | Is always happy to be around Leopardcry
Tansypaw shook the snow from his fur as he surfaced from the tunnel he had dug straight through a particularly deep snowdrift, giggling. He glanced behind him, and marvelled in pride at the length he had managed to dig without it collapsing, before looking around to spot where Leopardcry had gone. He wanted to show her, to impress her, to convince her to tell him another story about Plumclan's history. He liked spending time around Leopardcry; she was a good storyteller and a great historian, and he of all cats knew how to appreciate a good history. It was awful that Forestfreckle was sick, of course, but he was in truth glad that her being confined to the medicine den had allowed Leopardcry to join today's patrol instead.
But looking around, he spotted her nowhere. I guess I dug too far away, he thought, his guess confirmed when he heard Bristlefur calling his name in the direction from which he'd come. Snickering, he burrowed back into another snowdrift, and dug blindly for a short while before poking his head out to see orange paws facing away from him. He couldn't get a good look without shaking his head to get the snow out of his eyes and thus revealing his position, but by their colour guessed it was either Bristlefur or Leopardcry. He positioned his back paws behind him in just the way Bristlefur had taught him during their hunting practice before leaping, claws sheathed, at the other cat. He had only meant to surprise the other cat, to playfully bowl them over, but his impact just caused them to stumble forwards and yowl in surprise. Looking up from where he had tumbled to the ground, Tansypaw was shocked to see a stocky orange-and-white tabby tom he didn't recognize. He didn't know this cat- what was he supposed to do?! "Brist- Bristlefur!" he yelled urgently over his shoulder in the direction he had heard his mentor.
The moments it took for Bristlefur to run up behind him seemed like a short eternity, but luckily the stranger didn't seem angry at the young apprentice, just a bit rattled if anything. When Tansypaw heard his mentor's pawsteps behind him, he scrambled to his feet with his tail between his legs. He wasn't really scared anymore as much as he was embarrassed that the rest of the patrol had come running up behind Bristlefur just to find him on the ground after his failed surprise attack on the stranger. He wasn't paying attention to Bristlefur's hissing at the orange tom as he slunk to stand behind the warriors next to Dogpaw and Larchpaw, grinning sheepishly.Tagging: moonKT60633 (Dogpaw, Wildclove), polarized (Larchpaw, Leopardcry) Talks with Orangepaw | Is lectured by Weedpaw
Tail lashing angrily behind him, Tansypaw stormed into the medicine den. He looked around for Orangepaw and, seeing the other apprentice huddled by the den's wall, went to sit slouchily next to him. "Who does Weedpaw think he is? He told me I should ask Fawnstar if I can have a new mentor because he doesn't think Bristlefur is any good at it. Just 'cause she broke the warrior code. And I told him no, Bristlefur is an awesome mentor 'cause she lets me do whatever I want instead of making me stick to a schedule, and he said that's exactly the problem. He's such a prick sometimes." Huffing, Tansypaw broke off his tangent for a moment to look at Orangepaw and frowned. "You look awful. I guess you're more sick than I thought. Here." Leaning over, he groomed flat the fur on Orangepaw's head that he hadn't gotten to himself. "Oh, and don't tell the medicine cats I'm here," he continued between licks. "They're gonna try to kick me out because they think you'll get me sick. I tried to tell them that I've been running around in the snow all moon and I still haven't gotten a cold, but they won't listen. Are you feeling any better, at least?"

After Orangepaw had been sweet as can be to his mentor all moon, no arguing no nothing, fate had been cruel and landed him in the medicine den with a random attack of whitecough. So much for getting through his apprenticeship as quickly as possible. He'd spent long days pacing around getting more and more frustrated with his lack of progress, cursing his unpredictable health. Having Tansypaw visit him in the den was at least a welcome relief from the tedium. He'd protested weakly as his brother groomed the top of his head (he wasn't that sick! he was totally going to reach that spot later!) but the rough sandpapery licks were too soothing to fight back. It was kind of nice to be looked after. "Not much better, if I'm honest," he muttered. As if to demonstrate his point his body chose this moment to break into hacking coughs; Orangepaw jerked his head away to avoid coughing all over Tansypaw. When he recovered he cleared his throat and continued. "Sorry. They're right, you know, you really shouldn't be here. You aren't invincible. What if you get sick too?" At least then I wouldn't be the only apprentice graduating late, he thought, but he chased that away immediately because it was a horrible thought and Tansypaw didn't deserve that. Something that Tansypaw had said earlier finally sunk in and Orangepaw snapped back to face him, blue eyes wide. "Wait. Bristlefur broke the warrior code? Which... which one?" His mind raced to all the different possibilities. "Did she..." he dropped his voice to a whisper, "did she kill someone?!"

Wildclove He/him
Training with: Leopardcry, Larchpaw - polarized Bristlefur - open Tansypaw - 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚎 Dogpaw - Me!
Wildclove whipped his head around at Tansypaws cry- the young apprentice had burrowed away somewhere and had inspired Wildcloves own ‘paw to run off. He grins slightly at their antics- he's glad Dogpaw can let loose sometimes, the little molly can be very uptight about herself. Though he prefers not having to pry her paws from the packed snow- if she gets sick Jamilah will practically de-claw him!
Pausing their training he tails after Bristlefur- hackles raising as he realises its an unfamiliar cat. He smells slightly floral- Flowerclan? He forces his fur down- Plumclan can't risk a negative relationship with their bordermate. Not like Burdockclan. Wildclove swints- Hes seen this cat at gatherings- the Deputy?? Wildclove stiffens, what could the Flowerclan deputy want with them? The chocolate tom waits for Bristlefurs choice, flicking his tail to the ‘paws to stay back.
Dogpaw She/her
“Who's that?” Dogpaw mews to Tansypaw as he slides next to them “They're very bright.” The orange tom in from of them practically glowed against the white snow “Are we fighting? Is he alone?” She continues to quietly hiss to her companions. Dogpaw was slightly annoyed at the interruption- she had just started to convince Wildclove to toss her into a snow drift! “He sure yowled loud at you huh” She grins at Tansypaw “Didn't know you were so scary” OOC: Nothing post also but i got roller skates recently and am learning those. Tansypaw ily so much!! And Firepatch is a VERY cool name i love this guy

Auburncreek Eager to Prove herself in War & Patrol {--} with Daisytuft & Feathersong The morning had been very quiet, the Plumclan camp barely stirring. The snow continued to fall, the forest floor was now covered in it. Her own sister, Forestfreckle had been sent to the medicine den when Auburncreek heard her coughing badly during the night. Turns out, she had green-cough. She had visited her often, but seeing her in such a state make Auburncreek feel useless. What kind of warrior was she if she couldn’t help her sister? It wasn’t fair, there was no warrior to battle, no falling trees, just green-cough. She flexed her claws, if only there was something she could do to help her sister. However, it wasn’t anything she could do with her paws. She just had to hope the useless healers could do something.
The snow was still on the ground, yet it seemed there was a break in the weather. No snow was falling at the point in which they had started the patrol, and it seemed Daisytuft and Feathersong wanted to get it over with before it started again. Auburncreek quickly took the responsibility of leading the patrol, seemingly unaware of the fact the other warriors were more experienced. She was ready for anything, and she couldn’t wait to prove herself. When Fawnstar sees how great Auburncreek is at battle, especially in war, she would have to make her proud. After all, she was her daughter. All Auburncreek wanted was to prove herself to her own mother, who usually overlooked her. One of Auburncreek’s best skills was the mastery of battle, her fierceness leading her over her opponents. The only cat that had once bet her in battle training was Fawnstar herself, and of course, Havenspots. She had let him win, she shrugged.
She looked back, to see Feathersong and Daisytuft muttering to eachother. What have they got to chat about? She rolled her eyes, before raising her head. Dark clouds covered the usual blue sky, causing the forest to go dark. She could barely see her own bengal paws at this point, but she didn’t want to give up. Duskfeather sent them on a dawn patrol, and they would complete it. She pushed on, hearing the struggling warriors behind her. When a drop of snow fell onto her nose, she could feel Daisytuft and Feathersong speaking about retreating. “It’s just snow—” She was about to counter their points, but when the next snowflakes started to fall, they quickly retreated without Auburncreek’s response. She growled in annoyance, then followed after them. How was she going to prove herself if all Plumclan did was retreat?

Leopardcry Patrol {--} with Wildclove, Bristlefur, Tansypaw, Dogpaw & Larchpaw Leopardcry perked up at Tansypaw’s call. The young tom had been startled by the stranger on Plumclan territory. She padded up behind Wildclove, before coming to stand beside Bristlefur. The three apprentices were herded behind them. She raised her tail for Bristlefur to stay quiet, quickly giving her a harsh glare to stop hissing. She got a good look at the orange and white tom, being ducking her head. “Firepatch.” She had seen this tom at gatherings since she was an apprentice, she knew him well enough that he was Flowerclan’s deputy. Looking around him, she noticed he was alone. “Tell me, why you have stumbled upon our territory and scared our apprentices?” She looked down on him, her tail flicking over her paws as she sat down.
“I bet he’s here to spy!” Larchpaw mewed a bit too loudly behind them, staring at the deputy behind them. Leopardcry sighed, knowing the apprentice was a tad over his own head. She saw him follow the patrol quietly as they started, probably because Forestfreckle was stuck in the medicine den. She stared back at Firepatch.
He quickly explained that he was here for herbs, and wanted to speak with Fawnstar. She stared at Wildclove. “Keep the apprentices behind you,” She murmured, before allowing Firepatch to follow her. “How is Flowerclan?” She asks him, walking beside him. The two warriors flanked him, while Leopardcry lead the way.
“We are infected by yellowcough. Plumclan and Flowerclan have been in good relationships, and we wish to borrow some lungwort.” Firepatch looked at her, and she gave a glimpse nod. “Fawnstar is reasonable enough. She will know what to do.” Leopardcry mewed, before continuing to lead the patrol back to speak with Fawnstar.
[[ decided to do Larchpaw and Leopardcry’s together. Will get a full reply for Larchpaw next moon. ]]

PUMPKINPAW + PHEASANTPAW [ Assessment Practice ] " Always a chance we'll meet somebody to foot the bill, then the drinks are on the house! " (Consider Yourself from Oliver!)
The date was set for her and Pheasantpaw's assessment.
The date was set for her and Pumpkinpaw's assessment.
...
Just the two of them going out to practice.
...
She hadn't hung out with her in moons.
...
I remembered exactly when Pheasantpaw came up to me, and I showed her around camp.
I remembered the exact moment where I turned to see Pumpkinpaw, and asked her to show me around camp.
...
It's a shame for whoever gave birth to Pheasantpaw. I hope her mother is okay.
I feel like I shouldn't love Pumpkinpaw because we were raised by the same parents. Wait... they aren't my birth parents. So it is fine. I can live with that.
...
" Dang it Golddusk. Should've never insulted Daisytuft. "
" Oh. I'm not Pineconepaw, Rindlestripe. I'm Pheasantpaw! "
...
"Uhh... Pumpkinpaw? What are we doing for our practice?"
Pheasantpaw suddenly speaking caught Pumpkinpaw off guard, but she responded normally anyway. "Hm... I don't know, if I'm being honest." Pumpkinpaw replied. She tapped her paw before speaking. "Battle practice?" she piped up. Pheasantpaw gave her a long stare. "That's the reason we're out here." Pheasantpaw reminded in a monotone voice.
Pumpkinpaw's fur bristled in embarrassment. "Euhhhh... sorry. I forgot." Pumpkinpaw replied. Pheasantpaw shrugged. "Eh, no problem." she replied. "Hm... want to try the back kick move?" Pheasantpaw asked, her head tilting. Pumpkinpaw shuddered. "I think my back might be damaged from the fall." Pumpkinpaw explained.
Eventually, they had many, many disagreements on what to do.
"Belly Rake?"
"Already mastered it."
"Front Paw Blow?"
"Done that before."
"Front Paw Strike?"
"Please no."
"Killing Bite?"
"I've mastered that."
"Leap-and-hold?"
"I'm not risking an injury with your long claws."
Pumpkinpaw gave a long, hard stare. "We're not gonna get anywhere if we continue this." she grumbled. Pheasantpaw's ears pinned back in shame. "Hm... Play Dead?" Pheasantpaw finally piped up. Pumpkinpaw's head slowly turned.
"... Bet."
The two mollies then spent the rest of their time practicing that move, over and over again. Pumpkinpaw smiled. "Race you back to camp!" Pumpkinpaw called as she began running, with Pheasantpaw following after. "You think I'll get a mouse when we get back?" Pheasantpaw called once she caught up. Pumpkinpaw smiled. "You can have all the prey!" she called back.

What would make it even more perfect?
Not being sick.

Tansypaw
Tansypaw recoiled from Orangepaw's sudden coughing fit, sitting up straight out of the path of his coughs when he was done, choosing to drape his tail over Orangepaw's back instead. "Not you too. Aren't you glad I'm here? And like I just said, I won't get sick. I haven't caught so much as a cold yet. I'll be fine. Besides, you don't know for sure whether I'm really not invincible," he purred cheekily. "If I do get sick, at least you'll be here too. Plus I'd get out of changing Quickshade's bedding. It's just a matter of time until I get named a warrior anyway, it doesn't matter to me if it's one moon later."
When Orangepaw's voice changed to a whisper, Tansypaw crouched again to hear him better, tilting his head to the side in confusion at his guess. "No, she didn't kill someone. I would definitely have heard if she did, or at least have noticed that there's one less cat here. I don't know what exactly she did 'cause no one tells me anything," he huffed, "but it was probably just some little thing like eating on a hunting patrol or eating Twoleg food."
"Why are you asking me? If I knew I would've dealt with him myself instead of calling for you guys," he quietly replied to Dogpaw, rolling his eyes good-naturedly. "And I wouldn't say scared. I just surprised him when I jumped out at him. I thought he was Leopardcry or Bristlefur and I was going to get them good. Well, I guess I did." Craning his neck, Tansypaw looked around Wildclove to watch Leopardcry, laughing quietly at Larchpaw's remark. When the patrol got up to return to camp, he tried in vain to overtake Wildclove to get a better look at Firepatch. While he wasn't watching where he was going, his paw caught on a rock he hadn't noticed and he tumbled to the ground face first. The snow caught his fall and it thankfully didn't hurt, but he quickly scrambled to his feet and shook the snow off his pelt, hoping as he caught up to Dogpaw and Larchpaw that they hadn't noticed.

Amberdapple
Mates (asrise )
Lilacshade.
When she had joined the Clan, Amberdapple never imagined they’d become this close. But now... Lilacshade was a part of Amberdapple’s life. A big part. And Amberdapple wouldn’t admit it, but Lilacshade was a part of her.
Amberdapple padded up to the molly, early in the morning. She noted that Lilacshade smelled strongly of lavender. Amberdapple purred. Lilacshade knew it was her favourite. Amberdapple gazed at Lilacshade. She was beautiful. The colour of her fur, the pale green of her eyes... Amberdapple wanted her. Amberdapple didn’t know how to describe it, but she wanted Lilacshade. Wanted Lilacshade to be hers.
The two set out. It had become normal for them to walk together every morning. But this time there was something different. Something Amberdapple couldn’t quite place her paw on.
The sun was rising. It painted the sky in wonderful purples and pinks, yellows and oranges. And as Amberdapple padded through the snow, she knew that the right time was now. They needed to do it now. Today. Here, on this walk.
Amberdapple paused. “There’s snow on your fur. It makes you look like a snowcat!” She commented playfully. Lilacshade stopped walking.
“Amberdapple. I’m sorry to say it in this way but… Are we serious? I just want to know, you aren’t playing around, are you? It’s not that I think you aren’t taking me seriously, but I can’t stand it anymore. I want to be your mate, Amberdapple. And I want everyone to know.”
Amberdapple didn’t know what to say. She stepped towards Lilacshade, purring, twining her tail around Lilacshade’s. “Yes. I... yes.”

Golddusk- Patrol with Weedpaw, Duststep, Pineconepaw It had snowed a lot lately this moon. Snow piled high on the ground, making walking somewhat more difficult than it usually is. Golddusk could see his apprentice struggling to get through the snow. The snow had gotten as high as the young apprentice’s chest and the young tom was lifting his paws as high as he could just so he could get through the snow better. Suddenly, Golddusk noticed that Duststep looked confused and he followed her gaze, curious to see what could had gotten the she-cat’s attention. He felt alarmed upon noticing the huge group of barn cats gathered not too far from them. He had never seen such a large gathering of barn cats before, and the sight of them made him feel anxious. Why were they all gathered here, especially during such harsh weather? “I see them too but I can’t tell what they’re planning. I’ve never seen anything like this before.” He said to Duststep as he kept a wary eye on the barn cats. He nodded his head in agreement when he heard Duststep say that they should keep an eye on these cats. Such a large gathering of cats is rather suspicious after all. He crouched down, trying not to allow himself to be seen by the barn cats. He heard Duststep order his apprentice to go warn Fawnstar of the barn cats’ activity. The young tom hesitated for a bit before turning around and running off towards the general direction of the camp. He looked at Duststep when she explained to him why she told his apprentice to go back to camp. “It’s alright, Duststep. I can understand why you wouldn’t want Weedpaw to be anywhere near here.” He turned his attention back to the group of cats. If these cats were planning an attack on Plumclan, than Fawnstar will need to know as soon as possible. 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚎

Hatchhusk Hatchhusk fluffed up the nest in the warriors den, adding new moss that he’d gathered from his earlier patrols. Newleaf was dawning, the snow was beginning to retreat, and so someone had to make sure the warriors had warm and dry bedding. It may have been an apprentice task, but he didn’t mind doing it at all. After all, I want to prove that I’m useful… and considerate. He thought of Leopardcry. It had been many moons since she had first denied him, and he’d tried to get her out of her head at first. But when that didn’t work, he decided that maybe he should work on himself. If I don’t want her to think of me as a kit, I shouldn’t act like one. He remembered how she had hissed at him only a few moons ago for being all mooney-eyed over her on a patrol. Maybe I’m being mouse-brained for still liking her. But I can’t stop, it’s more than a crush now…
He went about his day as normal, not daring to look at Leopardcry like a lost kit. I think I’m ready for her now. Amberdapple’s suggestions to him last month had helped him gain a little more confidence. And now he knew that his love for Leopardcry was more than passing admiration or a crush: He really did want to be by her side for the rest of his life. If that wasn’t what she wanted, he would have to respect it. But it’s been six moons, and I’ve changed a bit. Maybe asking her a second time wouldn’t be bad… would it?
Taking a passing glance at Amberdapple, who was sharing fresh-kill with Lilacshade, Hatchhusk went out into the forest, collecting a small bouquet of snowdrops - the only flower available in this early newleaf weather. As he returned to the camp, he found Leopardcry, who was lying near the warriors den and he gently set down his flowers. "Leopardcry, I hope I’m not disturbing you right now, but I just want to tell you my feelings.” Hatchhusk sucked in a breath, willing his trapped, fast beating heart to slow. “I realise that you’ve already refused me before, and if you refuse me again, I respect that. That will be the end of this. But I still hope that we can be something more. I want to help you with anything you ever have trouble with, I want to be by your side when no one else understands… And I still want to be your mate.” His face crinkled into a small, sweet and genuine smile, despite his ebbing nervousness. "I apologise for how I saw you before. You’re more than just a great warrior, or a caring mother. And definitely more than a pretty coat and a pair of sweet eyes, though you have all of those things as well. You have something I can’t even begin to explain, something that’s taken my heart. Well… you’re just… Leopardcry. And that’s something I hope never changes, whatever you say to me next.”
OOC -- Second time's the... charm?!

Auburncreek Isn’t scared of anything! & Patrol {--} with Hawkheart Of course she isn’t scared of anything! She would fight through any problem if she had too. Fangs and claws could fix anything. Auburncreek learned that from her kit-hood. Words didn’t save Havenspots from death, but two loyal warriors would. Unfortunately, Havenspots didn’t have such a thing. Especially with Wildclove there. Today, she was called on a patrol with Hawkheart, a cat she hadn’t talked with much since her apprenticeship. Him and his siblings had been apprentices near the same time, being Rindlestripe’s kits. The ground was still covered in a thin layer of snow, but she could feel it getting warmer. Hopefully it would be new-leaf soon, bringing warmth and prey.
She stared at Hawkheart, they were both seemingly wandering. She guessed he was heading for the sparring area, but she wasn’t sure. She blinked, feeling the same way she had that morning. That morning in which she had made a mistake. A bad one.
“Hawkheart.”
She mewed, getting his attention. She stopped, avoiding his gaze. Why was she doing this? She was such a mouse-brained fool! She eventually looked at the tom, and once she started, she couldn’t stop. “I-I made a mistake. The past moon I hadn’t been answering to Fawnstar. She was annoying me! She couldn’t even make time to talk to me, for Starclan’s sake! When she finally did, I didn’t speak back. I felt angry. I couldn’t do it.”
Her voice cracked, imagining how stupid she looked. “This morning, I snapped. She asked me the final time, and I hissed and it was so stupid! She just wanted to talk to me, but with the pressure, and the thought of Forestfreckle in the medicine den, I just didn’t know what to do.” She looked up to Hawkheart, meeting his gaze. The molly had never spoken like this before, to no cat, not even her own kin. “I’m not looking for your sympathy, or anything like that!” She hissed quickly. “I just want advice, please. If you were in my paws, what would you do?” she softened her tone, realising how harsh she sounded.
She growled to herself, flexing her claws. “Nevermind! This was dumb. A warrior doesn’t show weakness,” She said to herself, until she was about to turn around. All she wanted to do was run. How could she show such mouse-brained emotions to a cat she barely ever spoke too? [[ she makes me so sad :[ ]]

Leopardcry Confession {--} with Hatchhusk Today was a beautiful day. The dawn, covered in beautiful oranges, reds and pinks spread across the sky. She blinked, wondering if her ancestors were watching her now. What would they think of her? Useless, she was, stumbling around camp. Now that her kits were warriors, she didn’t know what to do. Patrols were an option, of course. But it was no lie to any cat that Leopardcry hated the fact of being alone. She had her kits in the nursery, filling her with joy. Then as apprentices, they visited her regularly, and she enjoyed that. Seeing them with their mentors made her so happy. But now they were warriors, strong, proud warriors that were never really in camp all of the time. They were always out patrolling, and every time Leopardcry would ask, it would be a simple ‘Maybe next time,’ She got as a reply. She sighed. It was true. Her kits wouldn’t be kits forever, they all had to grow up. She just wasn’t ready for that yet.
She jumped when she felt a presence join her. Hatchhusk dropped his bouquet of flowers, and sat in front of her. Something about him felt different. This time, he didn’t look up at her, or reply anxiously. He looked at her with a new respect, now unlike an apprentice following his crush. He really did mean it. He actually had feelings for her.
She purred at his confession, it was heartfelt and it warmed her heart that had forever stayed so empty. She had just been thinking about what life was like alone, and how she hated it. Now, she could finally share it with someone. She touched noses with him, entwining her fluffy cream colored tail with his. She meowed happily, “Of course, Hatchhusk. I would be proud to call myself your mate,” [[ I’m crying it’s so cute— ]]

In an instant Fawnstar was jumping into action. Barking rang in her ear, an annoying cacophony of notes much too high for her senses to find comfortable. Dog stench poured into her mouth and into her nostrils, instinct causing her pelt to bristle as she dashed forward. Beechfawn and the newly named Pumpkinswipe rushed to the side of her, the young cats calling out to the dog, beckoning it to divert its attention from its quarry and chase after the Clan cats. Duskfeather was on the trail of the young feline the dog was after, her deputy charging into the fray as if he were still a young cat himself.
Fawnstar pushed herself forward, parting her jaws to allow a loud yowl to escape. ”Hey, dirt-breath, over here!” She wished to all her ancestors in StarClan that the dog would take notice of her. She was PlumClan’s leader. She was the one who carried seven lives. She could endure an injury or two. If any cat were to get hurt today, she prayed it would be her.
Another yowl split the air, a bark following right after. Fawnstar glanced behind her shoulder, noticing the dog’s attention snap toward her. She spat, lunging forward to rush even closer to the canine. Again she noticed Duskfeather running toward the small cat just ahead. On quick paws the leader turned the other direction, hissing at the dog before calling out, ”Beechfawn, Pumpkinswipe, stay on the dog’s flanks while I make it chase me!” Having the two younger warriors flank the dog would make it less likely for them to be pursued, but they would also be in the middle of all the action and able to say that they had helped and had done a job worthy of the best of warriors.
Relying on her warriors to fall in place, Fawnstar rushed onward, hopeful that this chase would soon come to an end.

SHIMMERPAW [ Dog. ] " Is it worth the waiting for? If we live till 84? " (Food Glorious Food from Oliver!)
Shimmerpaw needed to run.
He had to run.
He could call out to the dog to apologize for disturbing it.
But oh if only dogs could understand cats.
Shimmerpaw's paws skimmed across the grass as he ran from the dog, breathing as quickly as his paws touched the ground. He looked up from looking at the ground, and his eyes landed on a patrol of cats. Wait... cats! This must be one of the clans he heard of!
"HELP!" Shimmerpaw called. "There's a DOG chasing me!"
He watched as the smoke point molly of the group turned her head and followed a bengal molly and a gray-and-white molly, crossing to try to divert the dog's attention. A dark gray tabby tom then leapt at the dog, grabbing it, which gave enough time for Shimmerpaw to rest.
Once the dog's attention was diverted, he looked at the dark gray tabby tom. "Oh. my. gosh. Thank you so so so so much! I am so impressed by your talent! My name is Shimmer. Can you teach me that?!" he exclaimed. He turned his head and saw the smoke point molly excitedly nodding, before the dark gray tabby tom confirmed it with the bengal molly. He was later introduced to the group, and followed them out.
As he looked around the camp, he was in awe of the design. Look at it! It's so diverse and crazy! He couldn't understand what was happening, but suddenly he went off with two cats, none of them were his mentor, Blizzardwing! Sad.
***
Shimmerpaw followed the mollies to the clearing, and they gave him instructions. Did he listen? No, of course not! He would pounce at any sound, and eventually he gave up. In disappointment, he turned to his newfound clanmates. "I'm sorry... I just really wanted to seem skillful like you!" he told them, as the group went back.

Hawkheart patrol with auburncreek!“ Nevermind! This was dumb. A warrior doesn’t show weakness,” Auburncreek looked away and hawkheart was touched that she would even share her feelings to him. The two warriors were never close friends and he had never really talked to the her before, so standing in front of her he steped forward and looked her in the eye and said comfortingly- " A warrior can show weakness." at his words she looked up at him. " It makes since that you would be a little annoyed right now, i understand your concern for forestfreckle and i would be anxious to if one of my littermates had greencough. And right now fawnstar has a lot on her plate being the leader with so many jobs around camp and having to navigate the hole clan that it is a lot to do. She's probably worried about forestfreckle to after losing..." Hawkheart stopped. He didn't want to say it but he pushed on anyway- " Havenspots." He then smiled at auburncreek and said as kindly as he could- " If i were you i would talk to fawnstar and tell her your feelings. I'm sure she would apologize about anything she's done to make you feel like she doesn't care about you. She's a good cat, and so are you!" Tagging- polarized (auburncreek) Feathertalon (Fawnstar-talked about)

Forestfreckle .*❁ ________________________________________________________________________________________________* Continues battling greencough (moon 2) * Ignores Jamilah trying to tell her something important * Worries she will miss her apprentice's training if she's sick (last moon) * Is feeling anxious
Forestfreckle was suffering. She hadn't opened her crusted eyes in days, and every breath she took was ragged and wet. She didn't know what day it was, and the only reason she knew where she was was due to her clan's medicine cats constantly checking up on her. Today it was Jamilah.
Forestfreckle couldn't remember what Jamilah looked like, but she did like to listen to the she-cat's pretty voice. At the moment, she was trying to tell Forestfreckle something important, but the auburn and gray she-cat couldn't make it out. Perhaps something about how she was doing? Forestfreckle was sure she was getting worse. Or at least staying the same. She certainly had yet to feel better. Forestfreckle's mind wandered, and she ignored whatever Jamilah was trying to get across to her.
The sick she-cat wasn't tired, and as much as her body lay still, her mind raced. It had been two moons since she had last trained with Larchpaw, and she felt terrible. It had been her goal to make up for her mistakes with Fallowpaw through training Larchpaw, and yet, here she was, lying unmoving in the healer's den. Her training had been of no use to either apprentice. Fallowpaw was still lost, and Larchpaw was falling behind. Forestfreckle was too sick to notice that the clan had been caring for Larchpaw in her absence.
Had Auburncreek visited her today? The she-cat was unsure. She thought she had heard her voice this morning, but perhaps that had been yesterday, or two weeks ago. How was she doing? Had things between her sister and Fawnstar smoothed over? Had Fawnstar visited? Forestfreckle assumed she had, but she couldn't remember that either. It would be a shame if she never got a chance to talk to her mother before...
What if I die? Forestfreckle stiffened, letting out a small moan of despair. She hadn't even had a chance to truly live! Her thoughts swirled, her anxiety spiking, and she let out a fit of coughs. Perhaps next moon would be better, one way or the other. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: My poor bb ): lemonshortbread (Jamilah)
