| Ada Hendrix | The Infirmary (endingfairy, Ravenshadow)
He was? The feeling of having someone actually care about her, or maybe need her? No one actually ever needed her, but here, people did. Hadn't she saved two lives? Well hopefully. No news had come to them on Ryuzaki, and that worried her. But how long had it been? No longer than 24 hours, it must~
"I'm fine, just some cuts that I-I didn't have the strength to heal" Ada said, facing her palms up. They were, of course covered in bandages and didn't really show anything. Wrist rubbing wouldn't really work until she got these off. How long do I have to wait to use my magic again? As I get better will I be able to last longer? Heal bigger wounds?
"Athrwys Medraut. My friends call me Aether." Came a voice from the other side of the space they are all gathered around. Athrwys. That was this mysterious mans name. "Well, um nice to meet you?" Ada knew that uncertainty tinged her tone. After all, he had saved them from the murder deer. But, had it been at the expanse of Ryuzaki's life? How would Sorachi move on? Would he?
He is not dead. A sullen energy was palpable in the small area they were sharing, as if they all were thinking the worst. "Do you...think we've failed?" Ada crossed her arms. They better not have gone through all they have gone through and not enter the school. I guess I could go to any other album school, but I want to go here. I don't know why, but I do.
How many are dead? And how does he know? "How do you know so many are dead?" She asked. Did he work for the school? Was that a possibility?
"If we are accepted, do you think we'll all be in separate Houses?" Sorachi asked. Onyx seemed to ignore his question, instead pulling out a dagger and spinning it around. Would they? Ada's brain started to spin into many possibilities, would they? Even if they weren't, would they still get to socialize? Would they have time to talk?
"I, don't know. My friend told me that there are three houses, Basilisk, Kirin, and Amarok. I don't know how they sort everyone, but that could be helpful?" Ada said. At her old village there was this man, probably around 50, who had told her about this school. He had helped her get into the exam. "I hope that we will get to see each other even if we aren't though" Would they even take the same classes? The stuff that she didn't know amazed her own brain, and at the moment all Ada wanted was answers.
| Zinna Heartbrook | The Infirmary |
Zinna wasn't really paying attention to the conversation around her. She got the blonde haired boy's name, Athrwys Medraut. He looked older than her, maybe a year or two, but he was just starting here. If the group she had picked up even got accepted. Well it doesn't matter does it? I got them out alive and that's all I needed to do. Why was she trying to detach herself from these beings? Couldn't she just admit that she liked them? Well, minus the new guy. Don't know too much about him.
Now they were getting to talk about to school. Zinna's mind drifted to where she had stayed in her first year, dorms that were rather close to the front of the school. Her cell had been made up of the usual, a Cicerone, a Basilisk, Kirin, and Amarok. She had been the Amarok student. They had all gotten along rather well, and she couldn't wait to see them again. Now houses were coming up. If she wanted to come clean, she might as well do it now. Better now than someone else tell them. "I need to tell you guys something. It's not that big of a deal, but I'm an Amber student. They had some older students and staff patrol the caverns during the exam undercover to make sure everyone is as safe as they can be, that was basically my job. Well, that means if you have any questions about the school, I guess you could ask me. That is all I'm trying to say. I don't have any information on you y'all are accepted or if Ryuzaki is okay,"
Well, it was out now. It didn't really matter, right? It's not like she had over explained it or.... Just please don't make me feel awkward.

( Mini forms would help! Just the basics will do. Magic, names, hair & eye color, gender, personality traits, etc
Okay then! I'll weave them into the story a bit more~
My post will probably be up later tonight or tomorrow! )

|| Sorachi KiΕ‘o || The Infirmary / dewbranch Ravenshadow -- 'Just a few cuts.' Sorachi's tension ebbed a bit at Miss Ada's words. She isn't not worse for wear, but his poor decision-making hadn't terribly injured her and for that he has to be thankful. "That-that's wonderful. I'm glad..." He was still wound tight- fear and uncertainty pounding through his heart to the point that it's making him lightheaded. The room feels so much larger without Ryuzaki's dynamic personality to fill it, but he's putting shaky trust in Medraut's somewhat reassuring words. It feels wrong to be relieved that his friend may be- is- alive where so many are dead- and- ah, Miss Ada raised a good point. How would he know for sure?
Sorachi looked toward the blond once more, and he responded by arching his brows before looking between them as if puzzled. "Hm? Oh, you've been stuck in the Infirmary for about a day now, yeah?"
Medraut recrossed his legs and leaned back, more chains appearing to support the change in position. He lifted his gaze to the shadows moving beyond their partition as if in thought. "There were powerful demons appearing all over the cave systems, I passed a few on my way over. And if you listen in-" He tilted his head toward the more occupied side of the massive room, where whispers, muffled conversations, and groans of pain can be heard. "-you'll learn that your experience isn't an isolated incident. You are the only souls unlucky enough to encounter those monsters however. Must be something special about you lot~" He smiles yet his blue eyes remain placid like still water.
Miss Ada's soft voice is a welcome reprieve from that crystalline gaze, and Sorachi smiles tentatively at her last words. Oh! So she...wouldn't mind seeing them again either? "So do I. I- Ryu would like that." He tries not to sound too enthusiastic. "We've...already been through something horrible together...I feel like I already trust all of you a great deal." He includes Miss Onyx with his wan smile. He doesn't know much about the girl but she was injured trying to save them, and that's good enough for him. Especially when he personally knows people who would have left him for dead.
Sorachi's eyes go wide when Miss Zinna speaks, and he raises a bandaged hand in surprise even though it does eventually make sense. He'd been...distracted at the time, but when he reviews his memories of their struggle he recalls that she had excellent form, powerful swings, and an unfamiliar but impeccable stance. The onmyΕji isn't the best swordsman himself but he can recognize skill in others from his training with Ryuzaki and Kiyomi ShishΕ. His eyes shine as he leans toward her with an awed. "You're a-!"
Medraut snorts at 'safe as they can be' but immediately affects an innocent expression, raising his comic to hide his face.
The younger teen's face falls at her mention of Ryuzaki- because if she doesn't know then how does Medraut...?- but he recovers and presses his lips into a watery smile. "Thank you, you were a great help. Did you...not hear anything about him? Are there any other Oni cambion here?" Perhaps if there were, then that would set a precedent...
And, because his curiosity can't be helped, "Out of the three Houses, which one are you in? Is there any criteria that needs to be met?"

Zinna Heartbrook
Zinna felt a little bad that she didn't know anything about Ryuzaki, but it wasn't as though anyone had told her, but she felt as if they should have. Zinna risked her own life fighting the killer deer, but you know, that doesn't count really. Apparently.
"I am in Amarok house. Each house is decided on how you did on the exam, and what your abilities are. For instance, Amarok students are usually descended from aristocrat families, and in-your-face magic" Zinna explained, using her own house as an example.
Was I supposed to tell them? They would have found out eventually, and if they hadn't been accepted, then it would have been worse to explain why she wasn't leaving with them.
Again, her thoughts drifted to her dorm room, and her cell. They had gone on a mission without her, while she had been away to visit her family during the summer. I can't wait to see them again.
When she had first been put into a cell with them, Zinna wasn't sure if they were going to get along. But they did get along just fine, and they all connected over one thing or another.
"And I'm sorry that I don't know anything about Ryuzaki, I wish I did. But I'm pretty sure he's alive, if that helps"
(I don't have much to say for Ada ATM, so Zinna is the only one for now! I'll get the rest of her cell up soonish?)

Onyx | dewbranch endingfairyShe stopped flipping her knife for a moment to listen to their conversations. Something about being put in different houses. Huh. I'll probably get put in the one where all the weirdo's go. Onyx chuckled slightly at the thought, shaking her head slightly. It wasn't that she didn't like Zinna or all the others, but she wanted to do her own thing for a bit before settling down with a group.

|| Sorachi KiΕ‘o || The Infirmary / dewbranch Ravenshadow -- "Amarok House..." He repeats softly. It doesn't sound like he would qualify for that one. Sorachi doesn't know many offensive spells and he may have been born into wealth, but it's by sure luck that he was revealed to be capable of magic. His immediate family all might as well be average humans. Miss Ada's background is a mystery to him still, but he'd wager she wouldn't be placed in an offensive House either. That's slightly heartening~ Sorachi lifts his head to smile at the Amber student. "It does, thank you Miss Zinna."
The sound of swiftly approaching footsteps draws his attention from their companionable silence, and Sorachi stumbles to his feet with a gasp when the white curtain that had been cutting them off from the rest of the Infirmary is thrown back to reveal a tall man in an olive sweater. What had truly incited the onmyΕji's joyous display is the figure who emerged from slightly behind him, however. Tired golden eyes that light up at the sight of him, and a familiar cocksure smile that reveals sharp fangs.
"Ryu!"
"Sora!"
Sorachi practically launches himself at his friend. Ryuzaki catches him easily and attempts to hold him at arm's length to inspect him for injuries, but Sora tries to wiggle free in order to check him over instead. They end up grappling almost comically for a time- but of course the Oni wins in the end. He holds up the darker haired boy's injured arm and frowns at it. "When did this happen?"
"I'll tell you later-" Or rather, he'd avoid explaining it at every opportunity. There was no better way to escape from something that had you in its mouth without a weapon to cut himself free, but Ryuzaki would be pissed that he ripped apart half his arm regardless. He'd insist that Sorachi simply call him for help, even though he was...otherwise occupied.
"How is your chest?" Sorachi counters, hovering a hand over the bandages covering the Oni's entire torso to inspect his Seals.
"I'm fine. It will just take time." Strangely, Ryuzaki steps away from him with a flicker of discomfort. The bright blue haori and collared shirt he'd been wearing during the entrance exam must have been damaged beyond repair, because now he simply wears his tattered slacks and a long white doctor's coat that must belong to the man that'd been leading him- Oh!
Pale skin coloring, the young onmyΕji takes a large step away from a now grinning Ryuzaki and quickly offers the bemused man a bow. "Thank you for healing my friend and...returning him to me."
The man's smile is mild but his silvery green gaze is warm. "Aye. Of course." There's a lilt to his words that suggests a faint Irish accent. He towers over even the Oni, lean but so broad that his muscles shift under his sweater when he crosses his arms. At first glance Sora would expect him to be a warrior; his severe features appear carved from stone and a wicked looking scar curves up his neck, but the white coat that Ryu is wearing looks as if it'd fit him, and there's something gentle about the air around him. "'Tis good t'see such a strong bond between friends, now-" he turns his gaze to the others and, embarassed by his heartfelt display, Sorachi shuffles to take his usual spot on Ryuzaki's left. He then attempts to discreetly force the much taller teen into taking a seat on the bed behind him. They bicker quietly as the man continues.
"-Cessair Varden's my name," he gives a brief nod in greeting, "and I'll be finishing up yer healing." He rolls up his sleeves as he speaks before slipping a sheaf of folded papers from one of his pockets and glancing over them. "Onyx Xavier, Sorachi KiΕ‘o, Ada Hendrix...ah, Zinna Heartbrook." Mr Varden's narrow gaze shifts to the older girl. "Yer Blade Signifier wishes ta speak with you. Should be just outside the doors."
After this he returns the pages to his pants pocket and strides over to the side of Onyx's bed. "Move yer arms away from yer body now please." The man's gentle voice is now clipped and professional, sharp gaze inspecting the cambion with a doctor's insight as if he can see through her. "The fracture in your rib is stable but has yet to be completely healed, as well as the wound it made when it broke skin..." His eyes briefly dart to the notch in her wing and slice in her finger. "Hm. I can take away the pain but nothing can be done about the scars. Remain still."
Mr Varden raises his arms and the still air around him begins to swirl in lazy eddies that stirs his neatly-parted hair and the curtains behind him. The cambion is brushed with gentle furls of air that gradually ease her pain and fully close her wounds. It takes some time, but the entire process is painless. Once he's finished, the small space takes on a crisp, clear scent like an autumn morning and the sharp pervasive smell of herbs and potions fades away. "Takes care of that now." He hums, standing and turning to a fascinated Sorachi.
The onmyΕji had ceased his fight with Ryuzaki to watch the proceedings with interest, sapphire eyes round with curisoity. "May I-"
"Give me yer arm."
He does so, stark interest making him undeterred. "May I ask what kind of magic you are using? I'm not even sure how you accomplished that-!"
Mr Varden takes his arm and carefully unwraps the bandages. Sorachi tries to keep his gaze on the man's focused face, swallowing hard when he glimpses his mangled arm in his periphery.
"'Tis elemental magic. Air. Don't move."
'It's clearly more than that!'
Sorachi swallows bile when he looks down to watch the magic and finally sees the state of his injury. It's bluish green from some kind of herb paste and his veins are purplish. Something they've done or given him is causing his flesh and sinew to grow back, but it still looks like a pulsating mess. Strangely there's a neat incision in its center that he doesn't recall receiving. A remnant of some earlier surgery? Mr Varden's air magic gently swirls around it and causes the flesh to faintly glow green. The dull throbbing pain gradually fades, and before his very eyes, he sees skin begin to span across the raw muscle of his forearm. The brunet holds it for a moment longer before casually reaching into the pocket of the coat worn by a much closer Ryuzaki and re-bandaging his arm. "Should heal clear after a few days. Keep taking yer prescribed potions."
Oh, was that the horrid taste in his mouth when he awoke? Sorachi wrinkles his nose but nods quickly and mutters an 'I will!' at Mr Varden's stern look.
The healer then turns to Miss Ada and inspects her briefly before giving a curt nod. "Just mana exhaustion, then. A potion's by yer bed for that."
"Excuse me." Sora pipes up, fighting not to duck his head when that sharp gaze turns on him once more. "M-Miss Ada said that she has cuts on her hands..."
Mr Varden straightens and dismisses this with a wave of his hand. "Any injuries come by Spartoi weapons close on their own with a quickness. No need t' fuss."
'Spartoi?'
Sorachi's eyes dart to Medraut, who appears to frown before realizing that he's being watched. He smiles absently instead and returns his attention to his comic.
Mr Varden looks over the teens. "You lot will stay the night in the Infirmary now, yer fates'll be decided on the morrow. Good day to you." He then leaves just as abruptly as he'd appeared, swiftly moving to another occupied bed.
"Oh- thank you! Have a good- ah, he's gone." Sorachi lets out a breath, leaning against Ryuzaki to run a more steady hand through his mussed hair. Honestly his body feels great after Mr Varden used his magic. His mind feels clearer, he can breathe easier, and the aches and fatigue have completely been wiped away. Mentally, however...well there's still no guarantee that they'd been accepted. And he was too distracted to ask.
Ryuzaki shifts behind him, resting his chin and his head, and Sora smiles at this reminder that he's no longer alone. Whatever happens, they're together now and- ah, right! The Oni grumbles when Sorachi straightens abruptly and moves away but allows him to pull him closer to the girls by the hand.
"This is Miss Onyx, Miss Zinna had to leave- but she and Miss Ada are the reason we're still here today. You should thank them." The latter part he adds in a whisper, "Especially Miss Ada. She tried to heal you after..."
Ryuzaki says nothing at first, looking between them pensively before his gaze flits to Medraut. The blond is watching them from the corner of his eyes and Sorachi tenses, wondering if he's waiting for the opportunity to attack again.
"Next time you try to kill me, don't do it where Sora can see." His smile is fierce, teeth bared and eyes flickering like banked flames. "And don't you dare miss."
"Th-that's not the issue here!" Sorachi hisses, but Medraut only returns the Oni's smile, tilting his head with half-lidded eyes. "Noted~"
Before he can protest further, Ryuzaki abruptly returns his attention to the girls.
"Thank you for your help." The Oni dips his head toward Miss Onyx before smiling at Miss Ada, golden eyes alight with fiery warmth. "And thank you for saving my life, Ada. I will be sure to repay this debt however you like, just name it~"
Sorachi laughs nervously although he supposes he should've known that Ryu would have that kind of response. He's not the type to do anything by halves- Sora decides to change the subject. "Where were you?"
The Oni hums and crosses his arms, submitting to putting most of his weight on the bedpost behind him. He's been moving slower and more carefully lately, Sorachi notices with concern-
"In a cell."
"A ce-?!"
"But that's not important-" He slashes a bandaged arm through the air as if to physically cut Sorachi's very valid concerns in twain. "I overheard that they're going to accept us all as Azures~!"

|| Amalareiks Arlind || Eastern Spire / dewbranch --
Amalareiks doesn't wait long for Zinna to emerge. As soon as she opens the large Infirmary doors, he's starting down the hall, knowing that she would follow if she wants an explanation. The pace he sets is brisk, taking them on a lesser known path to one of the nearby inverted spires that will afford some privacy. He is, quite frankly, exhausted. Not much sleep was afforded to him after the disaster that was the entrance exam- and yet.
Rex wears the mass produced foci-ring that allows for him to multitask with the numerous administrative duties that he's split with Logestilla. A number of papers, files, rune-covered stone tablets, and Scrying mirrors orbit him at eye-level and he switches between them with a twitch of his gloved fingers, free hand holding a fountain pen for signing where necessary. The Scrying mirrors are set to only deliver information straight to his mind when he makes eye contact with them, so he occasionally moves one in front of him to respond to a Hound or member of staff that requires his attention.
He walks with a limp. A small weakness he allows himself now that no one but Zinna can see. His aura is dim but he walks with purpose, now wearing the crisp militaristic uniform of a Felblanc student complete with the badge that denotes his rank. The few students they passed naturally moved out of his way and a few of the older ones dipped their heads in respect. Usually they'd call out to him and he'd happily respond in turn, but now the most he gets are tight smiles. The sight of a Rex hard at work is a common one, although something about the nature of this instance is different. Even the Ambers know there's much more on his plate than ever before.
Once the air lightens to denote an incoming breeze, Amalareiks flicks his foci-ring off and relaxes his stride. He walks up to one of the balconies overlooking the eastern side of the school and leans against the railing. His gaze is pensive, one gloved hand idly combing spinel curls away from his face.
"Zinna...can you recall the last time you heard from your Cell?"
His expression is uncharacteristically grave when he turns slightly to face her, roseate eyes searching.

( As a warning, my next few posts are gonna be a bit long as we get into things but please don't skim as I'll be sharing important information!
Maybe two more interactions and then we'll timeskip to the next day!
Also Dewbranch- sorcerers can use Scrying mirrors or cell phones with ease so you can have them communicating either way. They generally use Scrying mirrors on missions where cell service may be spotty, however. You can decide the nature of their mission and I'll just adapt it to the larger narrative~ )

Onyx | endingfairy dewbranchShe looked at the man as he healed her; it was rather strange the way he seemed to see through her. But when he was done Onyx murmured her thanks and leaned back against her sheets. It was peaceful at the moment, besides the two boys who appeared to be having a hushed argument. Interesting... must be siblings or something. Her eyes dropped for a few seconds before she forced them open, but was soon dragged into a light slumber. (Sorry for the short reply, I have food poisoning! I'm just gonna go lay down rn although I might be on later today? No promises tho.)

Ada Hendrix
Ada listened intently to Zinna's explanation of her house, Amarok house, and how they worked a little. And it seemed like they had been accepted, if Athrwys was correct. Ryuzaki! She didn't say anything, but Ada was happy to see the cambion. Sorachi seemed overjoyed. She couldn't blame him, although she couldn't really relate. There was no one she was really close to, yet. Maybe they could all become friends! Maybe? She looked again and saw a man (the man who healed Ryuzaki?) Send Zinna away, then turned to 'finish healing' her friends. She payed close attention, but it seemed that he was mostly using his magic. Still, better to watch and learn than ignore him. When he was done, (she had a potion by her bed for the magic exhaustion) the man left, and it was just the five of them now. Ada wondered why Zinna had to leave, and when she would be back, and if they would ever see her again. Sorachi introduced the others, and she gave a quick wave when Sorachi mentioned her. She seemed more, spacey at the moment, and she hoped that the others wouldn't notice. "It's not a problem! Just - er happy to help" Ha! Someone offering to pay a debt! For her services? What she needed was sleep. That is what she needed. Maybe she would feel more, more normal if she got some proper sleep, not potion induced or light sleep. A good nights rest would be great, in fact~
Ryuzaki's next words were both concerning, and uplifting. He had overheard the that they were going to be accepted! This was, it was amazing! "That's amazing! Truly, thank you for telling us!" Ada didn't quite know what to say, but that was amazing news! They were going to get in! "Do you know anything else? What house we are going to be put in?" Ada asked. She could basically feel her eyes lighting up, and she knew that her mood had changed drastically from the beginning of the conversation. "And I hope your doing okay as well" She added quickly. Zinna Heartbrook
Why did Rex want to see her now? Had she done something wrong? Whatever it was, Zinna was quite ready to defend herself. As she walked out of the infirmary doors, Rex started ahead, setting a brisk pace for their walk.
She noticed that he was walking with a limp, yet she didn't say anything about it. Zinna herself was slightly scraped up, but whatever he had faced must have been worse for him to be limping like that. Athrwys had said that not many had even survived the entrance exam, which certainly was worrying. Zinna guessed that there was a few during hers, but not many. Maybe the same things were going through Amalareiks head now.
"Zinna...can you recall the last time you heard from your Cell?"
The question caught her completely off guard. Zinna hadn't given them much thought, until she had finished her work at the exam, and even then~
"What-" She exhaled, gathering her thoughts. "Before - before the exam. Probably... two weeks? Three? Maybe even a month?"
Now that she thought about it, that wasn't normal. No text nor scy? Really? Not even Peanut had told her anything, and the two had been very close.
"Have you?" She asked, although it was a stupid question. If Rex had asked her then he obviously hadn't heard from them in a while either...
"Are they dead?" Zinna whispered, preparing herself for the worse.
(The ending is a little meh but here they are! Sorry for the wait~)

|| Sorachi KiΕ‘o || The Infirmary / dewbranch Ravenshadow-- Ryuzaki's grin widens when Miss Ada matches his enthusiasm and Sorachi can't help but be swept up in their joy. They made it! The Deputy Headmistress was telling the truth, just surviving that horrific scene allowed them to qualify! His smile falters a bit when he glances at Medraut, recalling his words- but he guiltily pushes darker thoughts of how they're a handful of the lucky ones in favor of allowing the others to savor their win. Sorachi leans over to pull his friend into a one-armed hug, exhaling all of the fear and anxiety that had been building up in those few moments of uncertainty when he'd woken up alone. "That is amazing news..." He doesn't plan on letting that 'in a cell' aside go unquestioned though-
"I didn't hear anything about Houses or how they decide where we go..." Ryuzaki's dark brows furrow. "They'll have to put us in the same teams, right? The exam is about cooperation after all..."
His musing trails off when Miss Ada adds on another statement, and he merely looks at her in confusion for a moment before the meaning registers. "Hah? Me?" Ryuzaki blinks. "I am...well. The medic threatened me against 'strenuous activities' for a week but I will be fine." He tilts his head and sniffs the air. "You are unharmed as well~" He musses up Sorachi's hair with a laugh, ignoring his protests. "That means Sora was able to protect you too~"
"Oi you lot, keep it down." Medraut suddenly speaks up, tone curling with amusement. "Some people are trying to sleep."
Sorachi freezes and looks to the beds across from him, embarassed to find that Miss Onyx and the blonde on her right have drifted off. "Oh, sorry!" He says in a softer tone, standing up with an apologetic look. "We should let you two rest. I know you're still suffering from mana exhaustion..." He'd noticed that Miss Ada had been a little distracted when he'd introduced her. Ah, he should have paid more attention and taken her current state into account!
"Hm?" Ryuzaki stands with him, shooting the blond boy a narrow-eyed glance but otherwise allowing the onmyΕji to lead him by the sleeve.
"I'm glad we had the opportunity to talk! Le-let's go to the entrance ceremony together...? Maybe?"
Ah, he should have made it a request, not a weak question! But they're staying in the same room, so they might as well go together, right?
Sorachi offers Miss Ada a smile and brief bow, and Medraut an uncertain wave before excusing himself to his bed on the opposite side of the Infirmary. Ryuzaki follows at a more sedate pace, not eager to 'rest' but resigned to the fact that he'd be coerced into it anyway.
The onmyΕji is both eager and anxious for the day's end. Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of their lives, after all.

|| Amalareiks Arlind || Eastern Spire / dewbranch--
Amalareiks exhales softly, leaning back against the stone railing and tilting his head briefly to the overcast sky. What fitting weather for terrible news. "Your Cicerone sent a beacon a week into their mission but we lost contact with them immediately afterward. We've been working to recover...anything but their backup only found what can best be described as a bloodbath. No bodies." He won't go into any further detail than that. "Cell Seventeen has been declared KIA as of this morning but the investigation is still ongoing. Once they've been scrubbed of evidence, the Headmistress and I will be releasing the personal effects we found...if you should want them."
Of course the majority would go to the deceased's families, but many Exorcists made a habit of carrying little trinkets, jewelry, or dogtags for their cellmates and friends to remember them by. Rex himself wears a chain that once belonged to a friend he couldn't save. One of many...
His subdued gem-like eyes find hers, the hand that had been loosely resting against the railing curling into a fist. "I'm sorry, Zinna. I know we prepare for this but it never gets easier..." Another exhale. He needs to carefully regulate his emotions to maintain his aural abilities and he can't let the graying of Zinna's affect his own.
"The Division Council will have to assign you another Cell, however we understand if you require some time to grieve alone."

Clarissa|endingfairy dewbranch ravenshadow
Clarissa paces around her sister's bed. She hated infirmaries; they were too quiet, too boring. She'd rather be doing something. Her hand reaches for the places where her daggers usually rested, but she knew they weren't there. She knew the exact spot in the Armory, well enough to picture the most hidden crook of the room where she stashed them vividly in her mind. "For the last time, I'm fine!" Stella protests from her bed. "You were nearly sliced in half!" Clarissa shouts. "Nearly! Not fully! And the healer fixed me all up. I'm fine!" Stella snaps. "If only I'd been there. I would have healed you much more cleanly than that hopeful," Clarissa mutters. No, she thinks. You would have wasted all your energy trying to stop the damn demon's heart, and gotten both of you killed. She turns her glare to the gaggle of first years nearby. "Can't they quiet down? Some people need rest!" "They're not being that loud. In fact, you're being louder," Stella points out. "And I don't need any rest!" Clarissa ignores her. Normally, she would be kinder to Azures, but after today, she was itching for a fight. "Hey!" she shouts as she stomps towards the young boy, girl, oni cambion and draconic cambion. "Quiet down, will you? My sister is trying to rest!"

I really like moon-related magic, especially ones based on moon phases, so I figured I would make a character with that kind of magic.)

Zinna Heartbrook
Zinna felt sick. What Rex said couldn't be true. No. They couldn't be- gone. "Wha...?" Zinna blinked stupidly for a moment while it sunk in.
Her first impulse was to cry. Cry her heart out right in front of Rex. Zinna could feel the tears coming, and she tried to hold them back. Her throat did as they did when one was trying to hold back tears, and her knees threatened to give way. Maybe if they had been laying in the infirmary for a few days it would be easier, if she had been there, or had anytime to prepare... but no.
"I do. I want anything they leave behind for me" She said. And then she broke. There had been no one who had cared for her more then her cell, no one who had loved her as much as her cell. The probability of losing them to demons was high, and she had known that going in, but really, who had expected to lose them so... soon?
The tears started to fall. She looked away from Rex, embarrassed, but this was to be expected wasn't it? Zinna hoped she wouldn't be kicked out for crying. "I'm sorry I-" A few hairs from her ponytail fell out, and she took the hairband out, a rare chance to see it not up. Zinna's tears were silent, yet strong, and she hugged herself softly, trying to hold back the tears that were already falling to no avail.
(Don't know if I went a little far for this but it was fun to write! Sorry for the late response!)

|| Sorachi KiΕ‘o || The Infirmary / -- Sorachi reflexively took a step that brought him into Ryuzaki's shadow while the Oni narrowed his eyes at the short dhampir. He opened his mouth to say something appropiately biting and Sorachi attempted to head him off. Experience taught him to preempt the hotheaded cambion when there was potential for a fight.
"Then why don't you keep it down rather than try to yell in my face!"
" We will! Sorry about that!" They spoke at the same time, though Sorachi's voice was hushed and he dipped in a quick apologetic bow whilst simultaneously tugging his friend's sleeve back toward their beds. <><><> || Amalareiks Arlind || Eastern Spire / dewbranch --
"We'll see to it that they're turned over." He swears. The fact that there were any personal effects to recover in the first place is...suspicious. Either the cell had enough warning and knowledge of their imminent death to leave something to be remembered by but no ability to reach out for help...or it was staged. Defection is another possibility, but an incredibly slim one. Now isn't the time to voice any of these concerns however. Zinna is hurting and he can't simply leave her like that. Rex extends his now steady aura outwards, brushing gently against the Amber student's and influencing the gloomy gray with threads of color. He doesn't attempt to strongarm it or force her to feel a certain way, but offers a few idle brushes to soothe her emotional pain and distress. If only for now. He doubts that she wants to make the journey to her dorm in such a state, though it isn't like anyone would judge her for it. They face death and despair every day. Even the occasional preceptor or cicerone could be caught crying in the event of something particularly terrible. Anathe du Lac's eyes were suspiciously misty just that morning when she learned one of her students hadn't survived the entrance exam.
"You have nothing to apologize for." He assures softly. "And there's no need to feel embarassed either. I'm your Blade, remember?"
While the Blade Signifier's role is to watch over and see to the needs of their House, Amalareiks' abilities have caused him to extend beyond that in a kind of counseling capacity. Now isn't the time to tell her what steps she needs to take, however. Unless they're the ones toward her dorm- she needs time and space to process.
He isn't close enough to her to offer any physical comfort, so he says, "I'll be here until you feel like leaving, and then I'll walk with you wherever you'd like to go, alright?" He tilts his head back so that she doesn't feel watched, idly flexing a fist as he maintains a serene jade in their auras.

( I look forward to seeing her in action~ ^^ Dewbranch and I are working on a Cell for them now- do you mind if the sisters are in the same one?
You didn't go too far, it was a great response! And for later- what would be the items that her Cell leave behind? I imagine it'd be small things that they can take with them on missions- )

Onyx | snowheart1Onyxβs head whipped around at the shout. She glared at the two, her green eyes glittering dangerously. βThere are only two people being loud at the moment, and I can assure you it is not me or my companions. So, do us all a favor, and shut your abnormally loud mouth.β Her hands wandered down to the dagger at her side. She didnβt want to fight them, especially not while in this condition, but hypocrites made her pissed. A thin trail of smoke escaped her nose as a result from the burning anger. βThe nerve of some people,β she muttered darkly to herself. βSomehow I assumed that since weβre at a school for famous demon banishers, the people would be less *stupid*. But it seems I misjudged.β
