I want to make a Pokémon RP but I need some help. I've made various RPs in the past but they always fizzle out because I never flesh out a plot to follow or create a region with plenty to do. So I figured I may as well ask some people help me out especially because I'm really out of practice when it comes to making an RP. I have a list of what I need help with
- An idea for the region itself. Want I'm looking for is a region that would have a large variety of different environments or have a very distinct feel/culture to it. I also very heavily lean towards regions based on a real place rather than totally made up ones.
- Coming up with interesting and unique ideas for the locations in said region
- Should it be focused purely on a Pokémon League with gyms or should there be room for contests or other things. How should the Pokémon League itself function
- Figuring out an overarching plotline that could keep the RP from stagnating and push our characters in interesting ideas
- Creating a unique regional Pokédex that our characters would be limited to (around 250-350 Pokémon). It could contain a limited amount of Fakemon (Limited to Legendaries) though I'm reluctant to do so
As to the RP itself I may want to make it small group or at least have a few people create some more important characters who would have a greater impact on the overall plot. I'd also have a post length requirement of 3-5 sentences because I'm not a fan of overly fanciful writing just to meet a length requirement.
Right now I have a few ideas for the region if it were to be based off a real life location with those ideas being
- A region based on Scandinavia and its folk tales
- A region based on Wales and Arthurian Legends
- A region based on Egypt and its history
I already have map I created in the past for an Egypt based region that could be revamped. I'll post that as well as some of my more recent Pokémon Region maps to give an idea of the kind of art styles I've been fond of recently
