Meadow being Velvet's kit shifts the Velvet x Golden timeline, since Newt & Aster coming into the world was what broke them up. if Velvet does know she's his, he probably never mentioned it to Golden

brain is also still working out timelines here
I'm calling it and saying that Meadow is Velvet's oldest kit, any other kits he has will be 14 moons and younger, because he would have been ~20 moons when Meadow was born, around 17 moons when she was conceived
When Meadow was conceived Golden would have been ~11 moons, then about 13-14 moons when she was born
and since there's only a four moon gap between Meadow and Aster/Newt, Velvet's and Golden's relationship must have been incredibly quick and brief, perhaps a very tumultuous and passionate relationship that burned out very quick after newt and aster's birth
maybe some of this makes sense, and maybe i did the math right, idunno, correct me if im wrong

i'm no good at math so if there's any mistakes in the timeline it all looks good to me xD

i wonder if Golden and Velvet were each other's first crush and Velvet just moved on quicker than Golden?? at the very least he was Golden's first major crush, i'm thinking that toward the end of their relationship Golden thought his feelings were deepening into real love (it was probably just infatuation) but before he had the chance to make that declaration and embarrass himself the news about Newt & Aster came out. he probably assumed Velvet felt the same and was crushed when he discovered otherwise

whoopsie, looks like Velvet was wrong, Golden believes in true love and happily ever afters and once he latches onto an idea or person it's hard to shake him off, poor thing. i think enough time has gone by since then that it's mostly water under the bridge, but since they were both pretty young and it had a much heavier impact on Golden than Velvet i imagine he's still a lil awkward around Velvet


also also, since we've decided Storm and Larch grew feelings for each other while mentoring together i just had an idea ~

imagine, if you will, two rival warriors who are constantly trying to outdo each other in everything. they've been this way since they were apprentices and nobody can remember who started it. and they're both assigned apprentices at the same time. so, naturally, deciding who is the better mentor by whose apprentice becomes a warrior first becomes part of the competition between the two. and the apprentices catch onto the underlying feelings before either of the mentors do. and start trying to get the mentors together, possibly because they saw something similar happen w Storm & Larch. just a thought ~
