tired paws scrape against the ground, bits of pine leaves and dirt debris get kicked around as you follow a well-used path not knowing where it will lead you. The scent of cats fill your nose as you draw closer and closer. Suddenly, one sticks out more than the rest and suddenly the air is knocked out of your chest as you find your back hit the ground with ginger and white fur in your face. "Curious one, aren't we?" The voice sounds teasing and it makes you just a bit more uncomfortable, being pinned like this and feeling as though you're getting made fun of. The weight of the she-cat lifts as she gets off of you, your fur still standing straight but at least you're no longer being pinned. You watch as she turns towards the direction you were heading, a grin on her face as she waves her tail to you. "Coming?" You hesitate a moment, glancing back the way you came before your gaze settles on the blue she-cat in front of you. Curiosity getting the best of you, you take a paw step forward.

『 roaring falls 』
- 𖠰 - 𖠰 - a tall cliffside, too tall for any cat to climb, is a large and tumbling waterfall in the western part of Pineclan's territory. below is an ever rippling pool that narrows out into a river that runs throughout the entire territory. the pool is a hunting spot to fish, but only for the most skilled of fishers. a small cave is hidden behind the waterfall where its walls are lined with the pawprints of past leaders.『 shallow lake 』
- 𖠰 - 𖠰 - at the very eastern border of Pineclaw's territory lies a lake with the view of a large mountain. the shallowest parts of the lake are lined with thick reeds where fish like to hide. a lot of snail shells can be found within the rocks which can be used as fun little trinkets to gift to a loved one. the lake is a great spot for any cat who's looking for some downtime, and the waters are calm enough to teach anyone to swim. another great spot for fishing and sunbathing on warmer days.
『 rumbling bridge 』
- 𖠰 - 𖠰 - only the most brave venture onto the abandoned railway track on the very outskirts of Pineclan's northern borders. younger cats are forbidden from stepping foot onto the bridge, but apprentices still sneak away to dare each other to see how far they can go. the foliage just before the bridge are usually used for hunting grounds where lots of rodents and birds are found, even some frogs on the rainier days. the train tracks running through the forest outline the edge of the northern border, cats are discouraged from crossing it as bands of rogues populate the other side.
『 training grounds 』
- 𖠰 - 𖠰 - a clearing not far from camp that is the perfect amount of space for mentors to teach their apprentices, or a large sparring session.
『 deadwood 』
- 𖠰 - 𖠰 -
during an especially dry season, a corner of Pineclan's territory caught fire. what was once a lush and healthy part of the forest turned to char in seconds. all that was left was ash and singed, naked trees still standing tall and proud. now, seasons have passed and some growth can be seen through bits of green that poke out from the gray ground, and the winding branches that have yet to produce any pine needles. 『 abandoned cabin 』
- 𖠰 - 𖠰 - south of the camp, and just outside of deadwood's radius, a very old twoleg cabin sits aging season after season. untouched by the fire, a lot of birds have settled in the area recently. cats are told to be careful of snakes, and to be wary of rogues that wander in, often having to chase them away. some bigger predators are most commonly found in the area.
『 serene pool 』
- 𖠰 - 𖠰 - a small ravine is hidden away near the lake with very shallow waters, and a small, peaceful waterfall. the water is so clear that at night the stars are perfectly reflected within the pool. this is where medicine cats go to be close to Starclan, and new leaders to get their nine lives. sometimes couples will sneak away, the landmark seconding as a romantic getaway from camp. Pineclan's camp is a larger cave with smaller cavities that act as dens. the rock that forms the camp is covered in moss and surrounded by tall trees and winding branches, making the entrance rather difficult to find if one doesn't know what they're looking for. some dens have exits, otherwise the entrance to camp is also the main exit into the forest.
the leaders den: one of the smaller pockets and a bit of a climb to reach, the leaders cave is really only big enough for three full-sized cats. there is a stone ledge at the mouth of the dugout the extends further sideways, where the leader may stand to call meetings
medicine cats den: a cool cavity within the cave that has natural ridges that medicine cats have opted to use as shelves for storing herbs. the colder temperature helps keep the plants from wilting at their normal rate. closest to the entrance with a small exit that can be easily covered up.
warriors den: one of the larger dens with nests lining the floor, it is the furthest from the entrance. some cats opt to sleep in the clearing during the warm season, claiming the temperature is cooler than inside the den.
apprentices den: located between the warriors den and the nursery, there are two levels within the small cave. older apprentices typically sleep on the higher ledge while the youngest keep their nests on the floor.
nursery: the largest of the dens, there is also a small tunnel that connects the nursery to the elders den. plenty of room for many queens and their various sized broods. it is located near the medicine cats den.
elders den: connected to the nursery, the elders also has a small exit that stays covered up most of the time. the tunnel that connects to the nursery can also be blocked if the elders dont feel like being disturbed.

————- 𖠰 ————- Honeystar with open camp @ Tag
Honeystar was blinking away the sleep from her eyes as she sat upon the rocky ledge just outside of her den, peering down at her clan members but not focusing on any particular cat. For some reason unknown to her, the fluffy ginger struggled to fall asleep last night. If she had to tie it to any one thing it might be the small pit of dread that was beginning to loom in the back of her mind. Things had been going so well for Pineclan lately, they were in an era of peace. New leaf was bringing an abundance of prey, they had plenty of apprentices who were all fine learners, and by the end of the moon she would get to name her own apprentice a warrior. The rogues hadn't been a problem lately, and with this new season they were seeing more growth to deadwood. Absolutely everything was going right, so why did she feel like they were due for some trouble?
Shaking her head of any negative thoughts, the molly stood on her paws and stretched for a brief moment before joining her waking clan in the clearing. Now her green eyes searched for any familiar pelt, namely that of Ravencall, Hushedhowl, or her apprentice, Hazelpaw. It looked like the dusk hunting patrol was just coming back, maybe she would fancy herself to join the border patrol that should be going out soon. Getting out into the forest always helped clear her mind. She didn't need to worry about things that haven't happened yet. Pineclan was going to be just fine. ————- 𖠰 ————- Eagleclaw with open camp @ Tag
Eagleclaw had just slipped back into camp, trying to keep his mind alert as his paws dragged while he walked. He was beginning to think that he was getting too old for early morning hunting patrol. Still, the white and brown tom made his way over to the fresh-kill pile and gingerly placed his assortment of rodent he'd caught near the tracks. He gave a polite nod to Honeystar when he passed her, who greeted him back with a nod of her own, before slinking off towards the warriors den. He didn't enter the cavity just yet, but he sat just outside of the den. He would have to track Hushedhowl down later to figure out if he was on anymore patrols for the day, but for now he was going to let himself rest for a little while. Instinct was telling him that he should check on the elders or queens, but that's what apprentices were for.
Apprentices. Eagleclaw lifted his head from his paws and quickly scanned area looking for Garlicpaw. If she were awake he might go and check in on her, but he didn't see her then he could only assume she was still sleeping. Eh, let the kid sleep a little longer, he thought before resting his chin back on his worn out paws. ————- 𖠰 ————- Sweetripple with open shallow lake @ Tag
Sweetripple stared at her reflection as she sat at the edge of the lake. Her eyes then focused on a tadpole wiggling between the reeds where she spotted a few more swimming about. They were hard to make out at first, but were fun to watch once she'd discovered them. She always loved the arrival of new leaf, when the snow was all melted away and the sky returned to its warm blue, with all of the forest critters coming out of hiding.
The calico sat back and let out a sigh, lifting her face up towards the sky now and squinting against the rising sun. She'd woken up just as the patrol was getting ready to leave and found herself unable to fall back asleep, so rather than lay around in the stuffy den she thought a walk might do her good. Sweetripple usually found herself being pulled towards the lake when she wandered from camp. Something about its calm nature did wonders to clear her mind. ————- 𖠰 ————- Newtpaw with open camp @ Tag
Newtpaw laid snoring in his nest, tossing and turning from whatever dream he was experiencing. His face would scrunch sometimes, paws twitching like he was running away something. The young tom had always been such a physical dreamer that no other apprentice wanted to keep their nest close to his. Poor Asterpaw got to experience first hand just how much of a kicker Newtpaw was. He rolled onto his other side, then moments later rolled back again. A groan escaped his lips and just when things seemed to calm down, the young tom shot up from his nest with a shocked look on his face. "No big mouse, don't sit on me!"
A silence hung in the apprentices' den and Newtpaw quickly looked around, embarrassment beginning to seep into his fur when he realized what he'd just blurted out before waking up. Hopefully no one had heard him, but he doubted that. So, he sat down in his nest and tried to lick the fur on his chest flat, his ears hot and turning pink.

Garlicpaw Camp | Open
Garlicpaw woke and stretched, silently padding pashed Newtpaw, who was kicking again in his sleep. She pushed into the early morning sun, letting it soak into her pelt. She sat down and groomed herself, staying in the shadows of the den. If Eagleclaw can't find me, than he can't tell me to clean the nursery or do tick duty again. How do elders even get that many ticks?! It's not like their going out of camp everyday. When she finished washing she sat down on her hindquarters, enjoying the peace in camp and letting the warm sun soak into her pelt.
Jaypaw Camp | Open
Jaypaw was really tired. He slept close to Newtpaw in the apprentices den, and sometimes all that kicking made so much noise! Tonight though, Newtpaw had been sleep talking, which was one hundred percent worse. Now that the sun was up, he left the den, walking right past Garlicpaw on his way out. Woke up before you this time! Yewtail, his sister was pacing restlessly around camp, clearly thinking of something to do. She did that sometimes, and Jaypaw could not think of any other word but that she was shy. Too shy to ask if she could go on a morning patrol at least. "Hey Yewtail! Did you go hunting this morning?" He teased, because she clearly hadn't. In fact, at this moment the morning patrol padded into camp, prey in their jaws. "Guess not" He said, turning to see Eagleclaw put his prey on the pile, then go to his nest in the warriors den.
Yewtail Camp | Open
"No, didn't wake up early enough today" She said to her brother. She did wish she had been on that patrol, but there were plenty of others to go on. Maybe she could ask if she could check the deadwood, see if there were anymore growth. Her claws itched, and she wished she were out in the woods, not talking to her little brother. Or , really talking to anyone else. Her brother, was cute and kind, and, kind of boring. At least, to her she was. She still loved him, but sometimes it felt that others were avoiding her because she was talking to him. Your just feeling grouchy this morning, where did all these feelings come from? Yewtail slightly shook her head, shaking off the bad thoughts. They still lingered however, leaving Yewtail slightly uncertain.

Hushedhowl »
Each paw step was slow and creaked with a newfound tiredness that had blanketed the tom in the last season. It was clear to him that he was getting older, and with each passing moon the elders’ den looked more and more tempting, but Hushedhowl knew he had seasons left in him before truly taking the next step of his life and entering retirement. By all means he wasn’t an ancient cat, and some cats his age were still as bright and eager as they had been on their first day of apprenticeship, but every cat aged differently. Some aged well, others did not, and Hushedhowl knew he was declining quicker than others. But he wouldn’t let himself slow down completely, not yet at least. He owed it to Honeystar to support her as her deputy for some moons yet. Even if now he was a rank underneath her, the ginger molly was still his apprentice, and he was determined to stay by her side and guide her for as long as he could.
Getting up this morning had been difficult, Hushedhowl had to admit. A selfish part of him had been begging to stay inside his nest, but duty had pushed him forward and out into the dawn light that shone down into camp. The gray tabby had managed to call out the patrols for the first half of the day, and he knew it would only be a matter of time before duty called again and the next set of patrols would need to be made. But for now the deputy was going to enjoy his moment of quiet. It wasn’t all that often that he got to experience such a peaceful morning now that he was deputy of the Clan.
Hushedhowl glanced around camp, amber eyes drawing in the hustle and bustle of Clan life as cats both left and returned from patrols. The borders were being checked, prey was being caught, and all was as it should be. He smiled to himself. Life was good in PineClan.
A peaceful Clan was all due to a level-headed leader, and Honeystar was proving to be just that. As his thoughts floated to his former apprentice, Hushedhowl glanced toward the ledge just outside the leader’s den, and without fail he spotted the all too familiar white and ginger pelt of the molly. He set off in her direction, and before long, he had managed to make his way to the leader’s side; he wasn’t going to admit that the brief walk left him eager for air and had strained his hip more than was necessary.
The gray tom dipped his head in a customary greeting. ”Any cat catching your fancy?” He had noticed the leader looking out into the sea of cats that were rippling throughout camp as patrols set out and mentors called out for their apprentices to begin this morning’s training sessions. He wondered if she had been looking for any cat in particular, and if so he would leave her to it, but for now, Hushedhowl was content with spending his morning with Honeystar if fate allowed it.
Larchbreeze »
The early newleaf sun warmed Larchbreeze’s pelt as she pushed through a barrier of ferns. With parted jaws she took in the scent of the nearby lake, its aroma sweet and clear with just a hint of sharpness that was leftover from the recent leaf-bare. Snowmelt had drained into the lake as per usual, reviving the waters with a freshness that was only seen on the cusp of leaf-bare and newleaf. Larchbreeze had always tried to make it a habit of hers to visit Shallow Lake during this time, if not to smell the fresh lake water, but to catch glimpses of all the new life that was emerging into the shallows.
Small lizards and plump frogs evaded her pawsteps as the molly stepped closer to the edge of the lake. She watched in awe as the little creatures scurried away, amazed to see such an abundance of other animals once again. It was always so magical to see just how many lives lived within the confines of PineClan territory after a harsh leaf-bare; the season was necessary for the forest to lie dormant and rest, to recover from the vibrancy of greenleaf, but Larchbreeze had a soft spot for the revival of life from not only the forest, but from the other creatures that made this place their home as well.
Bright blue water stretched before Larchbreeze as she took the last few steps out of the undergrowth and onto the pebbly shore of the lake. The chocolate tabby hummed happily to herself, slowly relaxing herself down and sitting, tail curling neatly around her paws. She sat there in silence, taking in the view of the clear water and the bright blue sky, before glancing behind her, whiskers curling with amusement and eyes bright with affection. ”Stormhawk, are you still there?” Her voice was soft and wispy as it danced in the gentle breeze. She called for her mate, knowing that he would never leave her without letting her know, but still curious to find out if he had followed her down to the lake. When Hushedhowl had made the morning patrols he never once called for Stormhawk or Larchbreeze to participate, so rather than stay cooped up in camp and deciding to take advantage of a morning off of patrolling, Larchbreeze had suggested to her mate that they come down and visit the lake. Stormhawk had accepted her offer, and now the two had made it to their destination.
Larchbreeze was still in awe that the tomcat shared the same feelings she had for him. They had only been mates for a quarter moon, and while the romance was still newfound and fresh, Larchbreeze still found it hard to wrap her mind around the fact that they were bound to one another. She would always have Stormhawk’s back and he would always have hers. She had never thought of herself as a romantic, but Stormhawk had changed that for her. It felt odd still to call him her mate and not just some crush she thought was one-sided, but she was eager to navigate this newfound relationship with him, and excited to see what fate had in store for the two.

Cherrystorm »
”Petalpaw!” Cherrystorm’s voice rang out into the apprentices’ den as the ginger tabby stuck his head inside, pupils dilating as they adjusted to the dimness of the cave. He glanced upward to the ledge where most of the older apprentices had their nests, wondering if he could make out the familiar white pelt of his apprentice. There was a high chance that Petalpaw was still inside his nest, curled up in an attempt to sleep the day away, but there was also the chance that the white tom was already out and about, perhaps off galloping around with some patrol that didn’t want an unwanted pest getting under their paws. Cherrystorm snorted at the thought. For what it was worth, Petalpaw was his pest and a patrol wasn’t going to have him today. Petalpaw needed training, and it was Cherrystorm’s job to see to it.
As he stepped back out of the den, deciding he would wait a few minutes before looking for Petalpaw elsewhere, Cherrystorm couldn’t help but take a moment to see if he could spot Sagepaw’s ginger pelt anywhere among the nests. The young molly was no longer a kit and no longer needed the constant watch of a parent, but Cherrystorm couldn’t shake the urge to always be at her side no matter what. He knew that annoyed her, and he knew she was old enough to keep up with herself - and she had a mentor that was in charge of her as well - but despite her now being a ‘paw, Sagepaw was still his little kit. He recalled so fondly and so vividly how small she had been when she had first been born, how fragile she looked curled up against Hollyheart’s milk-scented flank. In the moment she had been born Sagepaw had become Cherrystorm’s entire world, and after Hollyheart had passed due to unforeseen birthing complications, his grief for his mate had only made his protectiveness over Sagepaw greater. She had started out as his entire world, but now she was his everything, his entire universe. If anything ever happened to her…
Stop it, he chided himself with a lash of his tail and an inward growl. Cherrystorm could feel himself getting worked up; claws unsheathing and pressing into the ground, hackles rising, tail lashing. If any cat were looking his way they’d surely think he was getting ready to run headfirst into a pack of coyotes when truly all he was doing was thinking about his daughter.
The ginger tom sighed. He knew it was detrimental to not only himself but to his daughter as well for him to be the way that he was, and he was trying to work on it, but it was hard. Harder than even he wanted to admit to. Cherrystorm shook his head, forcing himself to focus on Petalpaw rather than Sagepaw. She was probably already out training with Yewtail by now, and he’d see her safe and sound in camp later.
Sagepaw »
with - open
She was so close…just a few pawsteps away, just a few whiskers in length… She could see the clearing just up ahead, the newly grown briars and shrubs thinning out and giving way to the sight before her.
There had always been talk of the Rumbling Bridge, mostly just hushed whispers and soft giggles from the older apprentices. The place was said to be incredibly dangerous and only the bravest of heart dared to step paw near the area. Rumor had it that giant monsters stalked this pathway from time to time, though no cat had apparently heard their growls for generations. Where the monsters went, no cat knew the answer, but Sagepaw had it in her mind that she’d be the one to track the monsters down and find where they had gone. Sure, the monsters were only from legend, but legends were based in reality, were they not? Redthorn had said something mystical and all elderish like that before.
Now what wasn’t rumor was that rogues lived just beyond the bridge. Sagepaw had never seen a rogue before, and truth be told, she was a little afraid of running into one while she was out alone. Not that she couldn’t handle it herself, her claws were sharp and she was sure she could win any battle that came her way, she just didn’t want to entertain the idea of stumbling upon a vicious rogue. It would ruin her search for the large monster, and the ginger and white tabby was determined to find out where they had gone and report back to the Clan with the news. Should she do that, she’d be hailed a hero and named a warrior before any of her denmates. And once the Clan knew where the monsters had gone, they could rest easy with the knowledge of knowing where the enemy resided.
Sagepaw trembled as she took another step, her small, near ears just pushing out from the tangle of undergrowth that bordered between wilderness and former monster stomping grounds. It was already a testament to her bravery that she had made it this far, and she was for sure going to boast about it later, but the ginger tabby wanted to see just how far she could get, wanted to see just how deep her bravery ran.

Velvetshade »
There were other cats assigned to this border patrol but there was only one cat that mattered, only one cat that occupied Velvetshade’s mind. It was the stunning molly with a shimmering pelt of chocolate brown, her gaze as soft as the pale morning sunlight that drifted over the land. She looked as soft as bird down and smelled as sweet as rainfall.
Ebonyflower was the newest apple of his eye. Dare he say she was his newest conquest? Pfft, that sounded much too barbaric when it was put that way. Ebonyflower was not a battle he was out to win. She was a warrior through and through but she was the furthest thing from a battle that a Clan cat could get, and truth be told, Velvetshade had already noticed the signs of acceptance coming from the molly. There was no disdain in her eyes when she looked at him, no disgust in her words when she spoke to him in that silky voice of hers. Tension did not settle within her body when Velvetshade was near, and instead, she graced his presence with an open invitation, a silent plea that said to him that she was willing to offer her heart to him if he so desired it.
Velvetshade stifled a laugh. He would take her heart, but she would never have his. No cat was worthy enough for such a prize, and for as beautiful as Velvetshade truly did believe Ebonyflower was, not even she lived up to the standards he had set for himself. The chocolate molly was just another Clanmate to him at the end of the day, but she had opened herself up to him, and for all his neutrality about her, he was a warrior who chased after any willing prey.
A silky smooth purr slipped from the tom’s lips as he padded up beside the molly, casually rubbing his flank against her own. He breathed in her scent, a sweetness that was starting to become so familiar to him that it was hard to distinguish from everything else. ”Lovely how Hushedhowl knew to put us together for this patrol, is it not? With the two of us this patrol will come back quite successful,” he mused in a hushed voice, words only loud enough for him and Ebonyflower to hear. The rest of their patrol need not know what was being spoken between the two of them. This was just between him and the molly, no other cat.

Berryblossom She her 37 moons Queen Aquatail A graceful silver tabby she cat with stern blue eyes. She is quite beautiful but never had the 'kind' sort of attitude. She is more fiercely caring and independent. She loves her pride and is extremely loyal to Pineclan. She loves her mate and kits just shows it more in worry and care. Her mate recently died. She is expecting kits any day soon and her other kits open and she is open to siblings and parents. She likes velvetshade I was hoping hazelpaw as her kit. I hope I've done it right please correct me if not

STORMHAWK 🌪🌪🌪 Despite the water-based name his mother had chosen for him all those moons ago, the warrior is no great lover of the stuff. Would much rather keep a comfortable if cautious distance than draw too close to the banks, where lazy waves could lap at his grey-dappled paws. Frankly that seemed like common sense to the tom. Stormhawk was far happier with his paws firmly planted in the earth beneath him, where he could feel the world shifting beneath him.
Perfectly happy that way, thank you very much.
Yet here he was, curled up on the bankside, allowing the long-ferns to keep him in the shade. His eyes following the path of a school of fish through the water as they dance in and out of the under-water plants. The tom kept his torn ears twitched and alert in case anyone except the specific shecat he was seeking out might happen across them. A thousand excuses and reasonings already ready on his thorn-sharp tongue. Defensive and protective all at once.
Before he'd rarely protected anything other than his own personal interests.
But then a great deal about his life had changed since the entrance of one particularly beautiful shecat into it.
She was a romantic thing, the brute of a tom was quickly learning now he'd let Larchbreeze into the bits of him he'd so long kept carefully walled off. Someone who saw beauty in the places he'd never have thought to glance twice at.
If he'd shared such romantic notions, he might have considered himself one of those strange things the molly found beauty in.
Instead he mostly just counted his lucky stars.
The warrior lifts his maw at the sound of footsteps, drawing closer, closer. His eyes fix in the direction, body stiff in anticipation of movement, of flight. But the figure approaching wasn't one with the intention of rooting through his secrets, dragging that into the light which for now he wanted to keep close, keep as just his.
No, it was her.
Willpower alone keeps the tom from launching to his paws, closing the distance between them like some love-lost fool, or some idiotic apprentice approaching his very first kill. Instead he takes to his feet, muscles rippling beneath a layer of thick, dark grey fur. Leafbare had been hard, his coat clung to his bones more closely than they usually might have done.
But there was still power in that frame.
He closes the distance between them, paws leaving massive imprints on the wet earth beneath, that which hadn't yet been quite dried out by the newleaf sunlight. The mud squelched slightly beneath as he pulls each paw loose.
"I'm here," the words are softer than most cat's had ever heard him utter, he brushes his maw against her shoulder in greeting. "Though I'm not sure I'll ever understand your love for this place."

Larchbreeze »
The sounds of nature drifted to Larchbreeze’s ears as a soft wind tickled at the edges of her chocolate colored fur. The melodic songs of waxwings, towhees, and swallows filled the air, a sound that had not been heard for moons. Colder weather brought forth a great migration of birds, but with the frozen moons of leaf-bare behind them once more, warmer weather was bringing the birds back. And not just the birds - the reptiles, amphibians, and insects that had burrowed deep underneath the ground or inside fallen logs were starting to return as well. Larchbreeze had taken notice of all the small lizards and plump frogs on her way to the lake’s shore, delighted to see the inklings again.
As she sat near the lapping waters, her eyes drifted down to the rippling waves. A small school of minnows floated about, at ease alongside their tadpole neighbors. It was still early in the warm moons; there would be plenty more tadpoles, and in thicker amounts, to come. That didn’t make the warrior any less excited to see them swimming about. How small they were, how new to life they were. Larchbreeze purred. She wished them all a safe childhood, hoping to one day see them hopping about as fully grown frogs.
This was one of the reasons why newleaf was her favorite season. All the life returning to the territory was breathtaking. It was beautiful. And it was why she loved visiting the lake during this time as well.
The smile upon her muzzle widened when the familiar presence of Stormhawk pressed against her. Larchbreeze leaned into the dark-furred warrior, once again amazed that this tom was her mate. She knew of his disdain toward the water, but she hoped that, in time, he’d come to at least appreciate the beauty it had to offer.
”The forest offers beauty in every corner, but here…” Her words drifted off into a lovely sigh, eyes drifting toward the group of tadpoles and school of minnows once more. ”This is where true beauty lives. It’s where prey and predator come to share a drink and where life starts for so many things. Like these tadpoles.” Larchbreeze softly motioned toward the group with a paw, the shadow of her limb causing the little creatures to momentarily swim away before returning, amassing in the shallows a second time. The molly’s whiskers twitched with admiration. Eyes drifted away and up toward the sky, and as if StarClan itself wanted her to see such a sight, the flight of an eagle was occurring in the heavens above.
The warrior leaned in closer to her mate. ”Look,” she breathed, nudging him to look upward. ”Even the eagle finds it way to the water.” True that their main diet did consist of fish, but Larchbreeze wasn’t looking for the obvious answer here. There was a deeper reason for why all things needed water to survive, something more poetic than just finding food or water. Life started for so many near this lake. How could one not find the appeal in that?

GOLDENSKY interacting with yewtail // camp Goldensky slips into camp with a fat squirrel clamped in his jaws. He shivers a little as the shadow of the cave entrance glides over his fur; though the tall, mossy stone walls keep the camp nicely insulated from the morning chill, he is reluctant to leave the sunrise behind. He would’ve liked to have lingered and admired the delicate colors of dawn painting the sky in streaks of pale blue and rosy pink and creamy gold.
But unlike him, his father is not an early riser, nor does he seem to appreciate such finer things in life as the beauty of nature. What took Goldensky’s breath away every day did little to impress the stoic senior warrior. Honestly, it’s hard to believe they’re related sometimes. The squirrel in his mouth stifles his sigh as he follows Eagleclaw to the freshkill pile and drops it atop the other tom’s catch. Without exchanging another word, Eagleclaw slinks off towards the warriors den. Goldensky smiles at his father’s back before turning his attention to the breakfast options arrayed before him.
He is contemplating his choices, feathered tail swaying thoughtfully, when a flicker of color draws his attention to a pale tortoiseshell-and-white she-cat pacing nearby. Yewtail. He tilts his head at her. Seems agitated. Like she wants to get out of camp and stretch her legs. Perhaps she was simply too shy to ask to join a patrol and needed someone to invite her. He chuckles, thinking of his friend Sweetripple. Good thing I have some experience with making quiet cats feel at ease. Goldensky plucks a large fish from the freshkill pile and casually strolls over. “Hello, Yewtail! You look lovely this morning.” He drops the fish at her paws. “Thinking of heading out soon? I’d be happy to accompany you after breakfast. Care to share with me?”
HAZELPAW interacting with sagepaw // rumbling bridge
Hazelpaw argued with Sagepaw all the way to the rumbling bridge. He listed five different reasons why her idea wouldn’t work, ten detailed ways it could go terribly wrong, and strongly advised against it… but since she had insisted on going anyway, he’d decided he might as well come with her to make sure none of those things happened. It was safer than going alone, at least. And he was three whole moons older than her, so that made him more experienced, naturally. She’d need his expertise.
Now he is beginning to regret his choice. “I still think this is a bad idea,” he murmurs, digging his claws into the earth. He looks both ways, fur prickling with unease. The rusted tracks are silent, as they have been for generations, so why does it feel so wrong here? He eyes the discolored metal nervously. Despite the grass poking through the track ballast and the weeds creeping over the railroad ties, there is nothing natural about it. This thing was made, not grown; it doesn’t belong here. The lack of birdsong and preyscent surrounding it speaks louder than the silence. We’re not supposed to be here.
Rallying to his argument again, Hazelpaw meows, “Redthorn’s stories are just that: stories. The monsters are gone, if they ever existed to begin with. The odds of you finding one here, today, are highly improbable, statistically speaking.” He lashes his tail. “The odds of two apprentices getting in trouble for sneaking out of camp on their own, on the other paw…” The tabby tom glances over his shoulder as if expecting a surly warrior to suddenly materialize and sentence them to tick duty for a moon.
ASTERPAW interacting with newtpaw, cherrystorm // camp A clump of moss strikes Asterpaw in the head, jolting her from sleep. She’s on her paws in an instant, blue-grey fur bristling and claws sliding out. She bears her small white teeth in a snarl that could have been more intimidating if her head wasn’t still halfway in a dream. “What whazzat? Who threw it at me? I’llskinyouallive– oh.” Slowly the dim details of the cave come into focus. In the foreground is the fuzzy shape of her brother, thrashing and twitching in his sleep, and just beyond him Jaypaw’s tail disappears outside.
Asterpaw frowns down at the clump of moss between her front feet. By now she has learned to make her nest a good distance from her perpetually restless brother and his flailing paws, but apparently she isn’t out of range of any bits of moss he might kick up. Well, she's not going to help him put his nest back together this morning. Asterpaw hooks the clump of moss with a claw and flings it across the den at Newtpaw, bouncing it off his head. “C’mon, Newt-brain. If you put up that much of a fight in training, big mice wouldn’t be able to sit on you!” She tries to look annoyed with him but giggles through the last few words.
The bengal molly trots past Newtpaw, flicking him with her tail as she does, and almost collides with Cherrystorm when he sticks his head into the den. “Cherrystorm!” Asterpaw beams. “Are you taking Petalpaw out to train? Does that mean Stormhawk’s coming too? Can I go with you guys?” But the ginger tom doesn’t appear to be listening to her; his eyes look distant and his tail lashes irritably, so she pounces on it to get his attention. “See? I’ve been practicing!”

Sagepaw »
The silence was deafening as it rang deep within Sagepaw’s ears. Neither a chirp of birds nor a scurry of mice could be heard near the ancient tracks that ran through the open land where tall pines had surely once stood. There was an uneasy stillness to the silence, a wariness that ruffled at the edges of Sagepaw’s pelt, but she held fast, pushing herself onward. Determination carried her on her paws, and nothing was going to stop her from accomplishing what she had come out here to do.
Not even Hazelpaw’s insistent worrying was going to stop her.
”’I still think this is a bad idea,” Sagepaw mocked the other apprentice’s words in a high pitched voice, her tail-tip twitching irritably as she turned to look over her shoulder, amber eyes casting a glare at her companion. ”Why did you even bother coming if all you were gonna do was complain, huh?” She asked tartly, annoyed that Hazelpaw had tagged along only to nag her. He was worse than a mosquito - or so she had heard that mosquitos were terrible pests.Having yet lived through a greenleaf, Sagepaw was inexperienced with most insects, but from the stories she had heard, it felt only right that she could compare Hazelpaw to that of a mosquito.
Annoyed as she was by his constant worries, the ginger molly was secretly grateful that she did have another cat at her side. Company was always welcomed, especially considering pretty much every apprentice was quite a few moons older than she was. Badgerpaw was the only ‘paw younger than her, but he was only younger by one moon. Being as young as she was surrounded by much older denmates, Cherrypaw’s selection of friends was…lacking, to say the least. Oftentimes she found herself eating alone while the rest of her denmates shared a meal, though that wasn’t to say she sometimes forced herself into the social circle much to the chagrin of her fellow apprentices. She liked to say that her father, Cherrystorm, always butting into her life and checking in on her as much as he did was the cause of her pitifully small friend group, but deep down the young molly knew it was just her to blame. She was loud, abrasive, spunky…much too colorful for her older denmates. They liked to think of themselves as more mature and much closer to being a warrior than she was, but Sagepaw was going to show them. She was going to become a warrior before any of the rest of them did and they’d have to live with that for the rest of their lives. Oh, she couldn’t wait to put on her dung-eating grin in front of them the moment Honeystar called for her warrior ceremony before their own.
Well, except maybe Hazelpaw. She’d be okay with sharing her warrior ceremony with him. But only him.
The short grass crunched underneath her paws as she took a methodical step closer to the old tracks. She breathed in deep, a metallic tang that reminded Sagepaw of blood catching in her nose. She paused. ”Even if we don’t find a monster today doesn’t mean we won’t find traces of them. There’s gotta be more than just this.” She gestured toward the rumbling bridge with a flick of her tail. That alone was proof that the monsters once roamed the area, but surely there had to be more evidence out there, something that could help Sagepaw understand what had happened to them and where they had vanished to.
Cherrystorm »
With still no sign of Petalpaw as of yet, Cherrystorm was about ready to head away and look somewhere else for the white coated tom. It was still early in the day, but dawn had colored the sky in vibrant hues of pink and orange quite some time ago. If Petalpaw had opened his eyes with the rising sun this morning - which was somewhat hard to believe - then he could be just about anywhere by now. For all Cherrystorm knew Hushedhowl had placed the apprentice in the care of another warrior today, adding him onto a patrol without reporting the decision to Petalpaw’s mentor. But Cherrystorm knew the unlikeliness of that. If Hushedhowl had put Petalpaw on a patrol for this morning the deputy would have spoken with Cherrystorm about it long before now. And that meant Petalpaw had to be somewhere in camp still, or as he had thought earlier, snuck his way into being part of a patrol that was already outside.
It was sad that Cherrystorm could easily see his ‘paw pulling such a stunt. Hmph. Apprentices these days. They had no manners.
This sentiment was proven to the ginger tabby when he felt something landing on his tail. Instinctively he shot up to his paws, back arching and fur bristling. His lips curled back in a snarl before he could stop himself, a hiss escaping from his maw. ”Asterpaw!” Cherrystorm growled, unceremoniously snapping at the young molly before he could compose himself. So deep in his thoughts about his own daughter that the other molly’s actions had gone unnoticed by Cherrystorm. That was something he needed to work on - not getting so lost in his thoughts. It had been a bad habit of his ever since Hollyheart had died.
Pale green eyes were narrowed as they looked down at the troublesome blue molly. Had she been an older cat, a warrior in her own right, then Cherrystorm’s attitude toward her would be different. He was snappy and sharp-tongued, had always been, but there was something about the younger cats that softened the rough tabby. Having Sagepaw and becoming a father had done that to him, and it wasn’t that he was complaining about it, but fatherhood had certainly opened a new worldview to him that he had been blind to before.
Eventually, Cherrystorm’s fur lay flat upon his slender frame once more. He sighed, shaking his head toward the apprentice’s enthusiasm. ”Am I stuck with you today? I was hoping to train Petalpaw some, but if you’re still around then that means Stormhawk’s probably left camp already.” Don’t get Cherrystorm wrong, he respected Stormhawk, but ever since Stormhawk and Larchbreeze had grown closer, the other tom’s attention had been less on his apprentice and more on his new mate. Not that Cherrystorm could fault that, he knew better than any cat that it was important to cherish every moment with a mate, but warrior duties were still important.
Noticing that he was falling into thoughts again, Cherrystorm snapped himself back to reality, eyeing Asterpaw curiously as he awaited for her response.

Hawkstripes: Camp Open
Hawkstripes stands near the warriors den mostly observing camp as his clanmates slowly start waking up. He was never the type to sleep in unless he was really tired. As an apprentice, his mentor made him get up at the crack of dawn every day to train. Ever since, he found himself always waking up just as the sun was starting to rise. If he didn't get chosen for a patrol, he would simply go out on his own.
Drizzleclaw: Camp Open
Drizzleclaw grumbles to himself as he walks out of the warriors den. He moves off to the side before plopping down on the ground. He should be sleeping but lately Hushedhowl had fussed at him about sleeping in. So, here he was was awake, tired and annoyed. Drizzleclaw hoped to go on a patrol just to appease the older warrior then going back to take a nap.
Rivershade: Returning to camp
Rivershade makes her way back into camp and moves towards the edge of camp. After a early morning patrol, she liked to rest her eyes for a while before going back to her warrior duties. Seemed liked a good idea at the time when the patrol needed another cat to come with them. She briefly considered getting some prey, but decided against it.

Partridgehop camp — accompanied by: open she/her - warrior After all these moons of being a warrior, heck, a senior warrior, Partridgehop still cared for early patrols. She wasn't deterred by the sun as it rose at dawn. She wasn't bothered one bit by the sunsets either. However, she despised sleeping. Maybe it was old age, but Partridgehop was as irritable as a grumpy elder today.
The silver torbie sat on the right side of the warriors' den, her yellow gaze sweeping across the clearing. Cherrystorm was being annoyed by Asterpaw and Newtpaw. She couldn't blame the ginger tom for his reaction, but it was amusing. Meanwhile, Hushedhowl was off speaking to Honeystar. At least her brother was a fine deputy and didn't sneak away to spend time with their mate like Stormhawk and Larchbreeze.
She let out a yawn before noticing that Eagleclaw had made his way into the cavity of the warriors' den. It appeared the senior warrior had hunted earlier and wanted a nap. More and more warriors were exiting out of the den. She glanced at each one of them, but didn't say a word.

Badgerpaw camp entrance — accompanied by: open & possibly Garlicpaw? he/him - apprentice Badgerpaw was quite bored. In fact, he was so bored that he sat in front of the camp entrance, staring towards the apprentices' den. He watched some commotion unfold and rolled his blue eyes. How stupid, they're a bunch of fools, the snowshoe tom thought.
He was planning on leaving camp on his own, considering that he felt the need to be adventurous today. Surely no cat would notice him leaving camp alone. The apprentice was super smart or so he thought he was. He noticed Jaypaw, who had spoken to his older sibling, Yewtail, leaving the apprentices' den. Garlicpaw had left too. In his opinion, Jaypaw was too much of a risk-- he seemed like a tattle tale, despite being older than Badgerpaw himself. Maybe he would wait and see who would leave the apprentices' den before deciding. Badgerpaw stayed seated, his blue gaze flickering from cat to cat swiftly.

YewtailCamp | Interacting with Goldensky | Tealraven
Yewtail looked away from Jaypaw, who at Goldensky's approach, found someone else to bother. Am I really getting tired of my sibling? The young she-cat turned to look at Goldensky, listening to his words. "Why thank you, Goldensky. I would love to share with you." Something about the older toms formal tone seemed to be rubbing off on Yewtail, for she was acting, slightly unlike herself. I feel so different lately, being annoyed by my brother, trying to impress Goldensky? What is happening to me? Worries aside however, she leaned down next to Goldensky, waiting for him to take the first bite
Garlicpaw Camp | Talking to Badgerpaw | Sand
Garlicpaw felt a pair of eyes staring at her. She turned, seeing Badgerpaw looking in her direction before his gaze moved on to the next cat. Garlicpaw took one last glance in the direction of the warriors den, where her mentor had yet to emerge, then made her way over to the younger apprentice. He was only younger than her by 3 moons, and they had been good friends in the nursery, where they were always under their mothers paws. "Hey Badgerpaw, up to something?"
Jaypaw Camp | Looking for Coyoteflame | daydreams
As Goldensky padded in their general direction, Jaypaw said parting words to Yewtail, then left, giving them some privacy. He had a suspicion that Yewtail liked the older tom, but he was only a ten moon old apprentice, what did he know about love? But now, he was lonely again. Newtpaw and another apprentice were talking to Cherrystorm, Garlicpaw was chatting with Badgerpaw. Those two are always up to trouble. He had no idea where the other apprentices were, but he could try and find his mentor. And there she was! Sitting at the edge of camp, grooming herself. "Hello Coyoteflame, are we hunting today? Training?" He asked his mentor, sitting down and putting his tail over his paws.

||Tanglewhisker|| ||Medicine Cat|| ||With;Open( )|| ||Where; Medicime Cats entrance|| Another sleepless night seemed to haunt the older medicine cat. Something that seemed more common than not in the passing moons. When he did sleep, his dreams were filled with nothing but chaos. Was he losing his mind.? Was his brain failing him.? More days than he could count, he found himself forgetful and lost with things. Things he had known for what felt like a lifetime. He had been a medicine cat since he was 25 moons. Training first as a warrior, before following the path of the stars. Starclan knows that he caught on to herbs faster than he did to hunting or fighting. Not to mention, he hadn’t been the biggest fan at the thought of hurting another. Even though in the moons he had lived, he had gotten his claws bloody. Even if only a couple times.
His apprentice, now a full Medicine cat, seemed more capable than he did, nowadays. Always on top of things. More clear minded. And more patience and tenderness than he ever had inside of him. Starclan knew he was grateful for the younger tom though. Always keeping him steady and being the better of the two when it came to their clanmates. Sure, they respected him, but he knew that being a medicine cat with a sharp-tongue didnt help the sick and wounded feel much better. Especially the younger they were.
Now as Tanglewhisker sat right outside the entrance of his den, he couldn’t help but focus green eyes on his brother before he disappeared into the warriors den. Another early hunting expedition before he took his mid-day snooze. Something both of them did nowadays. The Tom had found himself tired more, but could only rest for moments at a time. After a moment of thought over his brother, his tail wrapped over white paws. Tanglewhisker kept his eyes observant, wondering what the rest of the clan was up to.
||Moonfeather|| ||Warrior|| ||With; Partridgehop(Sand )|| ||Where; Outside Warriors Den| There was a slit of an eye opening up from the younger warrior who sat in peaceful silence close to where Partridgehop sat. She watched quietly as the clan came to life around her. Tanglewhisker seemed to also be doing the same thing, eyes narrowed slightly. Such a grumpy old tom. He never once had looked pleased in the moons Moonfeather had been alive. The warrior personally preferred to deal with Curl-leaf before the cranky medicine cat. Knowing he had way more empathy for his fellow clanmates.
Taking a cautious look at Partridgehop, the younger Molly opened her mouth as if to say something, then closed it again. 40 moons separated the two warriors and Starclan knew she had so much respect for the older warrior. After all, the silver tortoiseshell had been her mentor when she was just a mere and self-conscious apprentice. Starclan knew that she had been so timid and cautious of everyone around her. Partridgehop had helped her grow from that. Well, for the most part. ‘We all know I’m still incredibly insecure after all these moons.’
On this particular day, the older Molly looked particularly grumpy. It took everything Moonfeather had to open her tan eyes fully and speak to Partridgehop. “Good morning. Are you feeling up to a hunt today.? Anything but sitting here would be nice. I need to stretch my legs. And we all know how I hate to be alone.” It was no secret that she was frighted silly by the thought of anything bad happening to herself or any one of her clanmates. Would she ever get over that fear.? Or live the rest of her life looking behind her shoulder and around her bush and tree around.
||OOC: Sand, I will edit this if you don’t want her to be her past mentor.||
||Whisperpaw|| ||Apprentice|| ||With; Ravencall(Tealraven )|| ||Where; || ‘For Starclans Sake..I’ve woken up late. AGAIN.’ Scrambling to her paws in a hurry was a mistake, as she tripped over her own tail and tumbled out of the apprentices den. A big old ‘Oof’ came from her as she hit the ground. Laying with legs splayed out, the pretty white and black Molly closed her eyes tightly shut in pure embarrassment. She was so clumsy. Always tripping and stumbling over air. ‘Shoot. How many just watched me do that.?’
Clearing her throat, the apprentice opened her eyes and sat up quickly, ears flicking nervously. Without looking around to see the faces of any of her clanmates, she quickly groomed her dusty fur until it was smooth and sleek. She needed to look presentable for Ravencall. She couldn’t embarrass her mentor anymore than she probably already did.
From the moment she had been named an apprentice, the tall black Molly being named her mentor, Whisperpaw had been greatly intimidated by her. She towered over the little Molly as they touched noses in an acceptance of them become a team. Trainer and trainee. She had been nothing but patient and kind with her. ‘You’re nothing but silly for still feeling any type of intimidated by Ravencall.’
Finally, after an awfully long time of grooming herself, Whisperpaw took a slow look around with sharp ice blue eyes. A slow shaky breath left her body. She was ready for whatever the day threw at her. Even though it had already started off insane. ‘What does Ravencall have in store for me today.? Hunting.? Battle training.? Patrolling.? Ohhh. I hope I get it right. I hope I make her proud.’
||OOC; I cannot believe how long that took me. Holy moly..||

STORMHAWK 🌪🌪🌪 When Larchbreeze had gestured for him to look, his gaze had immediately launched to looking for trouble. For someone who'd found them, for a threat lurking by the lakesure. And for a moment he wasn't quite sure that it wasn't.
An eagle would have to be very stupid to attack two full-grown cats, but Stormhawk was still young enough to remember his mother's warnings to keep an eye to the sky. A brave eagle could quite easily snatch a small cat and carry them off, never to be seen again.
And this close to a bitter leaf-bare, he isn't sure the eagle wouldn't try its luck. Maybe not with him and Larchbreeze, but camp was painfully close.
The thought lingers at the back of his mind that they are close to camp, and while they were capable a smaller apprentice or a kit might be caught off guard. And part of him tenses, ready to track the eagle before it could cause any harm to the Clan.
But he pauses.
As new to romance as this Tom was, he had the common sense at least to have an alarm blaring at the back of his mind in that moment, quieter than it ought to have been but there all the same. It promised him that whatever mood they currently had between them, it would be utterly ruined if he tried to kill the very bird his love had just called beautiful.
And in a quite frankly astonishing show of self-preservation, previously unheard of in the tom, Stormhawk resheathes his claws.
The nosey apprentices would be so proud of him. He was learning, or at least he was trying to.
His whiskers twitch, maybe with amusement, maybe with affection, maybe with a blend of the two emotions as he listens to her wax poetic. That soft, warm voice she takes on making a similar warmth spread in his own gut, spreading to his ears. It was a bird, he'd seen birds before. Talons, feathers that covered hollow bones made for quick flight. The eagle overhead was a larger specimen, admittedly, but beautiful wasn't among the words he'd have put to it.
He'd had such talons come too close to shredding his ears time and time again. "It's a very pretty bird," he comments, his dark gaze following the path of the bird. Stormhawk, now more sure of their privacy, allows himself the small pleasure of pressing his muzzle into her shoulder, inhaling the sweetness of her now familiar scent.
He supposed he could see beauty in some ways - he found it in this warrior, who was quite frankly the loveliest thing he'd ever seen. Maybe he could see some of that in the dark russet feather's of the bird she'd spotted, could find beauty in how similar the grass beneath them was to the shade of her eyes, particularly now in these early hours as dew still glistened on the thin blades.
If she was happy, so was he.
Movement catches his eye, and dark green eyes peel fully from Larchbreeze for the first time, and toward where a handful of weeds had prematurely bloomed. Dilute yellows bright against a backdrop of dark, dark green. There a butterfly, no bigger than an apprentice's paw, hops lazily from petal to petal.
Its wings a very rich, dappled navy. That, he supposed, she might appreciate.
He brushes his plumed tail across his mate's shoulder, then juts his broad jaw in the direction of the insect. Whiskers twitching as he asks, "And I suppose that butterfly perfectly encapsulates that which is fragile yet strong enough to survive, does it?"
Another warrior might have taken offence at his teasing tone. But it was so utterly laden with affection for this shecat, it was hard to.
