Amberwave waved her tail in greeting towards Moonflame before smiling slightly. She turned to her pelt and began to groom herself, getting rid of the fish scent.

Pinepaw was out in no time, curled up in a fluffy ball of grey fur and lightly snoring.
Robinpaw drifted off to sleep shortly after, sleeping soundly after all that work.
Shadewing looked into the apprentice den to see how they were coming along, and smiled before padding away when she saw them all fast asleep.

Autumntail huffed and flicked her tail indignantly. "Fine, I guess." She meowed, glancing around. "Look, I was told to get another cat to go on a hunting patrol. There's really no one else around. " The she-cat obviously wasn't super pleased about this invitation, but as a young warrior this was the first "patrol" she was asked to "lead", and wanted to get it right.
Timberpaw purred. "StarClan! Wow!" He breathed, eyes widening with wonder. "What are they like? Will they talk to me? What if they reject me as an apprentice... you know, because I'm not Clan born." His voice lowered on that last statement, scuffing his paws.

"So you want me to go?" Rainsplash looked around camp, trying to find another cat sitting around that he could use as a scapegoat... but Autumntail was right, everyone looked to be preoccupied with something. He got to his paws and sighed loudly. "Fine, let's get this over with," he muttered.

Autumntail looked over at Moonfeather, relief in her eyes. "Sure, Moonfeather. Why don't you join us?" She asked, before turning to face Rainsplash. "Yes, you should go." She meowed, although she seemed less enthusiastic. "The more cats we have, the more prey we catch, the sooner we can get back to camp and eat!" The she-cat bounced back to her usual self with a flick of her tail, although she was still salty a bit bugged about Rainsplash. "Let's go."
Timberpaw puffed out his chest in pride at his mentor's praise. "Thank you, Emberleaf!" He purred, pushing away the nagging thought of You're still not Clan-born, no matter what she says. The tom hopped a bit, excitement getting to his paws. "Is there anything I need to know? Will they quiz me on herbs?"

Autumntail followed the two cats, picking up her pace so she would be in the front of the patrol; stubbornly telling herself that this was her patrol, her first one she would lead, at that! The she-cat padded a little deeper into the territory before pausing, ears perked and tasting the air. "Seems like there's plenty of prey around here." She commented.

"Um..." Timberpaw narrowed his eyes in thought. "A medicine cat cannot take a mate. A medicine cat cannot have kits. A medicine cat... uh..." The apprentice flicked his tail, eyes darting around as he tried to remember. "Shares dreams with only StarClan. And they can't discuss those dreams with anyone but their leaders and other medicine cats..." The tom blinked up at his mentor. "There's more. I think... Oh! A medicine cat can only retire once their apprentice has their full name!" He meowed triumphantly.

Rainsplash nodded. "Yeah, seems that way," he said, looking around. He padded around a bit before zoning in on the scent of a squirrel close by and without another word started to follow the trail into the forest.

Autumntail watched the tom leave and lashed her tail subtly. "Good luck." She meowed, before turning and tasting the air, catching the scent of robin. Hopefully it's not in the tree. She thought, walking slowly towards the scent.

Rainsplash raised his tail in acknowledgement of Autumntail's words. After quietly moving around plants, he finally discovered the squirrel sitting at the base of a tree. It was preoccupied with burying acorns, and so did not notice the tom approaching it from behind.

Autumntail spotted the robin and growled quietly as she realized it was in a tree. I hate climbing. The she-cat thought before leaping onto the bark, hauling herself up with her claws quietly, making sure she was on the opposite side of the tree as she slithered up towards the robin snoozing in a crack in the tree.

Rainsplash lowered himself to the ground and slowly inched closer. A leaf fell from the tree and landed lightly on the ground, catching the squirrel's attention. Rainsplash froze until the squirrel returned to its acorns and then got ready to pounce. He shot forward, grabbing the squirrel in his jaws. However his paws slipped on the leaf litter and he slammed face first into the trunk, shaking loose a few more trees. The good news, he still had a good hold on the squirrel.

Autumntail was about to pounce on the robin when the tree trembled and she hissed in surprise, sinking her claws into the bark so she didn't fall, and cursed as the robin squawked and flew away. "Foxdung!" She growled, looking down to see what had caused it... and of course it was Rainsplash. "Watch where you're going! You cost me a good piece of prey!" She meowed, eyes blazing, as she slid down the trunk and jumped the last few tail-lengths.

Rainsplash looked over at the angry she-cat, still sitting face to face with the tree trunk. "Because I definitely planned to slip and deliberately mess you up," he spat back. He stood and backed away from the tree, pulling the squirrel along with him. "Besides, it's not like that was the last piece of prey ever. You said it yourself, there's plenty in this area. I'm sure you can find another one."

Autumntail sighed. "I guess you're right." She admitted, although she was still slightly ticked. "Sorry, just not in the best mood today." The she-cat meowed, eyeing Rainsplash's squirrel. "Good catch, though." She said grudgingly, flicking her tail and looking around. "I'm going to see if there's anything else within catching reach."
