Bright Guardian Akira just posted a video today (two hours ago now) that I thought to have some really good points regarding debates and discussions about the battle cat series and characters.
Disclaimer: Please be respectful when it comes to the opinions of others, both on this thread (and the forums in general) as well those of Youtubers and other parts of the fandom. And keep in mind that, when talking about BGA specifically, she uses she/her pronouns.

This is what the fandom desperately needed to hear years ago. Better late than never, I suppose.

I find it ironic and comedic that BGA and the group of WC content creators they’re associated with in the community (Tennille, Moonkitti, Hawkkz etc.) commonly disregard/ignore the suggestions BGA is making in the video. Such as fabricating stuff, projecting, getting angry and offended over others opinions, attacking people etc(don’t mean any disrespect to BGA, just saying). Don’t mean to bring up old coals, but feels pretty disingenuous for BGA to say they feel nothing ill towards people that enjoy and side with Bramblestar in the whole BramblexSquirrel debacle. When several of BGA’s friends have aggressively attacked others for supporting that opinion(most notably Moonkitti) and has even supported said attacks. Maybe there is some legitimacy to what’s being said in the video. But given BGA and their friends past records. Rather difficult to view it as anything other than some cheap virtual signaling. Saying one thing, yet doing something else entirely.

Saying one thing, yet doing something else entirely. Just because BGA's friends did something doesn't mean she does that too. BGA cannot control other people. In fact, this may be intended to spread that message to everyone, including them. Also, if BGA did do this in the past, this could be a way to show growth and to encourage people to do the same.

Have any of these YouTubers actually attacked people for their opinion? I seem to remember Moonkitti putting out a post or something telling her fans to NOT harass Bramble fans, and I was always under the impression that it was their rabid fans who did it rather than them.

could someone give me a run down if the video? i cba to watch it. BGA talks about how like many circles online, the Warriors fandom has a diverse amount of opinions. She says that this comes from different backgrounds, interpretations, sentimental reasons, and also for how far into the series people are in, or the books books people have/haven't yet read. (BGA says that people who've read Onestar's Confession may have a completely different view on Onestar that those who are on Power of Three, for example). She then says that being passionate about people's opinions is very good, and is a part of human life due to our social nature. And naturally, when people have these opinions, they like to share and discuss them. That's why debates are healthy to a fandom and group of people. But sometimes when people get too set into their opinions, they decide that their opinion is better, and forget about the healthiness of differing opinions and debates. BGA then states that once debates and opinions get too heated, it can then become unhealthy. People can take a differing opinion as a personal attack, and then attack the person with that differing opinion. Another facet of an unhealthy debate is when people make up sources, such as putting headcanons as canon. She also reminds people in the video that not everything is black-and-white, which is the last unhealthy way to debate. She say that people are able to like a character while recognizing their flaws, or hating a character while recognizing their virtues. You can also like multiple characters at once if they are on opposite "sides" of a debate (Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight, Dovewing and Ivypool, etc). And just because someone is critical of the series, doesn't mean they hate it. Part of appreciating something is to want it to be the best is can be. Basically it is a reminder to the Warriors fandom (and the internet in general) to use critical thinking and self-regulation skills when debating to make it healthy, fun, eye-opening, and safe for everyone.

I'm only talking about BGA here, and I think this is the case for her. It is also a way to tell people to stop saying she "hates" Warriors jut for criticizing it, and just a reminder that everyone needs to hear now and then.

Good points made 👍🏼 Helpful for an influential fandom YouTuber to be using their platform to encourage healthy debate mindsets.
