Brownie it could be interesting if it was Pondspeckle who caught him, but I don't think he would tell the Clan. Although, it never says it is revealed to the whole Clan. yeah it doesnt need to be announced to everyone. It also depends on how poisoned you want to portray him as being? Like if you want him hale enough to be able to go about the territory alone or not. Pond might also not be the one to catch him out there, but maybe smell FlowerClan on him when Frozen brings Pond one of the fish in the healers den? That might work too if you like that plan

Heavy »
Heavy was no stranger to helping the medicine cats. She knew some warriors would find it boring and tedious, gathering herbs and sorting through flowers all day, but Heavy found it comforting. At least for the most part; there was a small part of her that was reminded of the days where she couldn’t leave the medicine cat den, the days in which her broken bone and infection kept her confined within the den. Her first few seasons with the Clan had been difficult, had been challenging, but here she was now, a senior warrior of YewClan. She had made friends over the moons, had a family of her own to care for, and now that family was starting to grow and expand.
The calico cast a sly glance toward Shadepatch, unable to stop the smile that crawled across her face. It still didn’t feel real that Thrushfleck, her son, was old enough to have a mate, and yet… She remembered vividly the day her litter was born, how excited she had been upon meeting her kits for the very first time. Thrushkit, Brightkit, and Slatekit, the purest loves in her life. They had been so small and so vulnerable, so innocent and curious. Three little kits, and now…now one had a mate, one longed to be leader, and the other…
Heavy cast a masked look toward the sky. She could only hope that Brightleaf had found peace wherever her spirit had ended up.
The topic of StarClan had been something Heavy had spoken about with Stormmask once before. The former loner’s beliefs were different from that of most of her fellow warriors, but when it came to the medicine cats, Heavy’s beliefs were drastically different. Medicine cats worked with their ancestors to gather omens and signs, to receive prophecies and guidance, and while she couldn’t fault the healers for seeking out such wisdom, she herself had never had any good fortune from the ancestors. Just when things would start looking up for her, something terrible would cause all that happiness to be sucked right out of her. If StarClan existed, or if they were fair, then why did they always cut her happiness and joy short?
But now was not the time to think about such things. Instead, she needed to focus on the task at paw - gathering moss with Shadepatch. With so many sick cats right now having fresh bedding was of the utmost importance. Plus, Heavy thought with a twitch of her whiskers, this was the perfect opportunity to get to know her son’s mate better.
Slatefoot »
Sickness had plagued the Clan swiftly and suddenly. Plump rabbits had gone from a juicy meal to a deadly poison within hours, and now YewClan was entering its second moon of ill cats. This worried Slatefoot more than she would like to admit, her mind constantly worrying about Mistleheart and Pondspeckle in particular. One her best friend, the other her cousin that was more like a younger sibling. Unable to focus on anything else until making sure the two were okay, Slatefoot found herself inside the medicine cat den, slowly slipping inside, making sure to keep her paws out of the way of any of her ill Clanmates.
”Mistleheart? Pondspeckle?” She called out softly, amber-green eyes blinking as they adjusted to the dim light of the medicine cat den. She knew the two cats were somewhere within the medicine den, but she wasn’t sure exactly where they had made their nests; that thought alone struck a needlesting of guilt in her chest. Mistleheart and Pondspeckle had been sick for a moon now, and Slatefoot was only just now spending her free time to check in on them. She should have done it sooner, should have come to say hello long before this. Her tail flicked uneasily. She hoped neither of them had any harsh feelings toward her for waiting so long to check in.
Slatefoot »
This was her time to shine. This was her chance to prove to the entire Clan that she could be an amazing mentor, the best mentor. Bubblingstar would acknowledge her abilities in front of the Clan and finally give her an apprentice to train. She would train some of the best warriors the Clan would ever see, and this was where she was going to start. This was her moment, and she was going to make sure she proved just how great she could be.
After her visit with Mistleheart the mostly white molly had asked if Slatefoot could take over Drizzlepaw’s training just until Mistleheart had recovered. Without a second to even think about it Slatefoot had agreed. Not only did she want to help Mistleheart and alleviate some of the worry she knew her friend was having about not training her apprentice, but she wanted to prove that she could handle an apprentice, that she could take one under her own wing and train the next generation of YewClan warriors. Thrushfleck had an apprentice, after all, so why couldn’t she have one?
So here she was now, using her hindquarters to push off the ground, leaping toward Drizzlepaw. Her front limbs were outstretched, claws sheathed. She wanted to test whether or not Drizzlepaw would use his reflexes to dodge, or if he had the strength to redirect her attack and push her down onto the ground; it was a basic move, one that was taught within the first few battle sessions, but Slatefoot wasn’t sure where Drizzlepaw’s training had left off, so she might as well stick with the basics before deciding to take it up a notch.

(Throwing around another idea for Pondspeckle stormshade1 but perhaps Hunterswipe could complain about the smell when Frozenlaurel arrives with the fish? Setting the scene for their argument maybe? He would probably only smell the fish not or doesn't like the taste of it. It doesn't need to be too serious! I'm trying to think of ways to incorporate my old man in conversations since he's not doing too well~ he's a grumpy guy this moon.)

Scarletdrift - Plays a prank on Spottedfur
The familiar dull of life had returned. Scarletdrift at times regretted his decision, but in the long run he knew it was the right one. He had done a lot for his clan including giving them two amazing warriors and countless moons of service. Scarletdrift had felt that it was his time, and when he found out that Spottedfur was going to retire he had decided to as well. So far it had been fun and rewarding. In fact, Scarletdrift couldn't remember the last time he had been hungry! Whenever his belly so much rumbled, Drizzlepaw or Cinderpaw appeared with a piece of prey in their jaws. I can make my way to the fresh-kill pile, thank you very much! I'm not that old.
The point was Scarletdrift was bored, and he wanted to do something fun! A few ideas went through his mind, but his favorite was a prank, and who better to prank than his denmate Spottedfur. Putting a thorn in his nest was always funny, but only if the cat your pranking finds it before they get hurt.
After some careful musing, Scarletdrift decided to take a pawful of sticks and hide them in Spottedfur's nest. That way, when Spottedfur went to lay down, it was just very uncomfortable. Scarletdrift left camp, heading towards the woods where he could pick up the sticks.
After about an hour of carefully picking sticks that weren't too pointy, Scarletdrift snuck back into camp. He scanned it, making sure that Spottedfur wasn't anywhere in sight. He wasn't. Scarletdrift quickly padded into the elders den, arranging his sticks in and around the moss. Our nests need to be changed anyways. Then, he left the den, hoping Spottedfur wouldn't notice his handiwork until it was too late.

Shadepatch - Gathering Moss with Heavy (Feathertalon )Shadepatch was walking along with Heavy. They were on a herb gathering patrol, specifically for moss. Shadepatch wanted to start a conversation, but didn't know where to even start. 'Please,' She told herself, 'Don't randomly bring up Blackbirds.' So she did. "You know, I've noticed Blackbirds like to stick around where they're born," She said, internally cringing at her brain's refusal to not bring up Blackbirds in every conversation. Shadepatch also noticed some birdsong, quickly recognising the song of Blackbirds among the other kinds.Shadepatch - HERBS with Sick Cats (lazzylake Sand duskflight stormshade1 whispering ) and is worried others are judging herShadepatch entered the medicine den. She had gathered some herbs on her own, and was putting them in the herb storage. She then got a piece of Juniper, a few pieces of Ragwort, a piece of Marigold, and some Moss. She walked over to the sick cats dens, giving Dappleswipe the Juniper, giving Stormmask, Mistleheart, and Pondspeckle some Ragwort each, before quickly chewing a poultice of Marigold for Hayfeathers wound, and replacing some of the moss in Hunterswipes nest.
She returned to the herb storage, absentmindedly staring at it. She wondered if she was doing well. She tried her best, but she couldn't get the feeling of when she realised too late what was happening before Stormmask ate that rabbit out of her head. It just stayed there, like an itch in her brain she just couldn't scratch. What if they were judging her for it? She should have realised, should have helped, should have done something, anything to help!
As Shadepatch stood there by the herb storage, she couldn't hold back tears. What was she doing? She might not have realised soon enough, but she was beating herself down for it, and if it went on like this, she...she...she didn't know.

Brownie Hello Brownie, my exam is next week on Wednesday, can I be put on the waitlist in advance please? I know it takes a while for new cats to be open, and I would like to dive back into roleplaying in YewClan as soon as possible after the exam Thank you. I miss playing as Mistleheart, but I am reading her prompts to see where her story takes her, and I look forward to playing as a new cat.

Hayfeather takes a walk by herself and fights a rogue
Being a warrior was starting to come around for Hayfeather. Patrolling and hunting for her Clan was more rewarding than she'd ever realized. The young gray tabby had been doing all she could to help out, even with tasks she didn't prefer, like herb gathering and tending to the elders. But with so many cats out of commission, the extra help was well-needed.
Days before, Pondspeckle and her father had brought back rabbits, triumphant in their catch. But an illness had broken out among all the cats who'd feasted in the catches. Several cats had been confined to the medicine den, leaving only a pawful to carry out duties. Her father was riddled with guilt when the sickness broke out, Pondspeckle among those cats. It isn't your fault you couldn't have known. Hayfeather tried to reassure him. It was all just a very unfortunate occurrence. But StarClan willing, all the cats would pull through. Pondspeckle and everyone else would recover and return to their lives.
Now, the young warrior trekked through the forest, enjoying the warmth of greenleaf. It was nice to get fresh air and clear her mind outside of camp. There was so much sickness and worry. They'll be fine.
The scent of a robin slowed her pace, her ears angling toward the bird. The scattering of leaves told her it was foraging for bugs beneath the thornbush the scent drifted from. Dropping into a crouch, Hayfeather inched her way toward the red-chested bird. As it snatched a beetle up, she waggled her haunches and prepared to leap. Just as a twig snapped nearby and, alerted, the robin flew away.
With an irritable growl, Hayfeather straightened up, looking around for what caused the disturbance. But she was met with only silence. And she couldn't smell anything unusual. "Hmph. Maybe it was just the wind." The molly muttered, turning and tasting the air for signs of prey.
But when her back was turned, a great weight landed on her from above, knocking the breath out of the she-cat. Claws embedded themselves into her back. Dazed and panicking, she struggled beneath her opponent managing to tear free twist over onto her back. Her hindclaws tore wildly at the intruder's belly fur until hot liquid dripped onto her silver fur. Yowling in pain, the intrude swiped one last angry blow before it raced away.
"Hey!" Hayfeather yowled, scrambling to her paws, but the rogue was long gone, heading toward the BurdockClan border. She stood, panting and in pain. A hot liquid trickled its way down her fur. Looking down, she realized she was in pain, blood gushing from a long gash down her flank. She gasped, stumbling back toward camp, praying she'd make it in time or someone would find her.
"Help! Please, someone help me!"
✰✰✰ (getting this up because I missed it last moon, i'll get the pondspeckle pip up in a few)

Heavy »
Heavy was content to walk along in silence. She did have her questions and her inquiries, a curious mother wanting to nose her way into the business of her son’s new mate, but she held her tongue. The last thing she wanted to do was come off too strong, to come off as imposing. She wanted Shadepatch to like her, to enjoy the calico’s company and feel welcomed. She was a young cat with a lot to learn, and Heavy was an old cat with a lot to teach. She wanted Shadepatch to feel comfortable in coming to her, to feel like she could share the thoughts that may wander about in her mind like a newborn fawn. Whether it be about herbs or what it was like being a warrior, Heavy wanted Shadepatch to be comfortable with her. No cat could ever replace Brightleaf, the daughter she had lost to that awful wolverine, but the thought of gaining a new daughter in Shadepatch was something that brought a light to Heavy’s recent darkness.
In a way, Shadepatch reminded Heavy of Stemriver, how her former mate had once been part of another Clan across YewClan’s borders. He had come to YewClan in search of a new start, to get away from his family and Clan. While he had never fully opened up to Heavy about his reasons for joining a new Clan, the calico warrior had her own suspicions, her own beliefs. FlowerClan may be their allies now, but Heavy would never see eye to eye with the Clan that ruled the moors.
Yet, from what she knew, Shadepatch’s reason for joining YewClan was a little different than Stemriver’s had been. Again, the calico didn’t know the whole story, the whole reason, for why Shadepatch had switched her allegiance, but a cat deciding to leave their whole family behind and start anew somewhere else never set right with Heavy. Something had to have happened or else Shadepatch would still be across the border in BurdockClan. Her tail twitched uneasily, mind drifting down a path that, fortunately, Shadepatch’s voice snapped her away from.
”Hmm?” She cast a questioning gaze onto the tortoiseshell, catching only a fragment of Shadepatch’s trivia. ”What about blackbirds?”

BUBBLINGSTAR - Patrolling with Frozenlaurel Bubblingstar had never been one to be a stickler about old rules- Slatefoot was more than obvious proof of that. But as he trailed behind Frozenlaurel, there was a niggling seed of annoyance rooted in his chest. It was irrational. After all, Frozenlaurel shouldn't feel guilty for bringing those rabbits back to camp. No one could've known what poison lay beneath their skin. But Bubblingstar couldn't help but feel angry. To him, it seemed the other tom hadn't spared much thought to any other cat than himself; or his family. Did it not bother him? Didn't it wake him night after sleepless night, wishing he could take it back? Much as he hated to admit it, Bubblingstar knew these thoughts weren't really about Frozenlaurel. The warrior was just the unsuspecting target for his own hang-ups. But knowing that didn't make the feelings disappear, and when Frozenlaurel called a halt to their path across the border- he had half the mind to ignore it. HAZELPELT " I don't think anyone mentioned hunting out here!" Hazel chirped from Bubblingstar's- erm...tense side. She was a grateful for the excuse, however real, slinking back a few paces from the elder tom. There wasn't any reason (she hoped) Yewclan's leader would be grumpy about her, but, just in case! She never really knew with the more experienced clan cats sometimes. " Did you see something?" Hazelpelt asked, trying and failing to get a good view over the ridge from where she stood.

Shadepatch - Gathering moss with Heavy (Feathertalon)"Uh, I mentioned that Blackbirds tend to stay around in the area where they're born," She said, slightly flicking the end of her tail for one reason or another, "Like, if a Blackbird is born in one place, they usually never. Like. Leave that general area. Y'know?" She said. "I know a lot of Blackbird trivia and when I don't know what to say I usually just say one of those Blackbird trvia pieces" Shadepatch said with an awkward cat smile.

Frozenlaurel -x-----------x-
Frozenlaurel didn't drop the fish at the fresh-kill pile, but continued onward to the healer's den. He had to twist his neck to fit the fish through the entrance, their scales rigid in death. It was... uncomfortably warm in the den, packed with the sick, the injured and cats like him that were trying to comfort their loved ones.
Frozenlaurel had to carefully step over tails and path around Shadepatch to reach the pair of nests Pondspeckle and Hayfeather rested in. The mat of herbs across Hayfeather's side looked worse than the open wound did, putting Frozenlaurel on edge, even if he knew Shadepatch knew what she was doing and that the herbs were helping. Pondspeckle looked better this moon than the last, but it still broke Frozenlaurel's heart to see his usually energetic son so tired looking.
He dropped the fish, poking the largest of the three towards the pair. "Brought you fish?" he mewed, crouching down and putting his head on his paws. His stomach rumbled, but he ignored it. He could take the smallest one for himself once he was done visiting. "You won't believe what I saw when I went fishing this morning. FlowerClan cats! Fishing!"
Frozenlaurel grinned, tipping his ears. He didn't need to include his involvement in this retelling. "They were awful at it! Worse than kits. I caught three myself before they managed to catch a single minnow."
-x-----------x- Frozenlaurel -x-----------x-
A tuft of fur catches his eye, caught on thorny brambles. Frozenlaurel could imagine a cat pushing through just there, the pawprints tracing the intruder's path, deeper into YewClan's territory... His tail bristled, making the pair of scars more obvious, like tears in the sides of a feather. He recognized this scent, the same one that he helped clean from Hayfeather's pelt last moon after she was attacked.
"That rogue," Frozenlaurel hissed. He itched to leap forward, give that cat as nasty a scar as he could manage for daring to ambush Hayfeather. It was only the knowledge that he wasn't the best fighter, would probably be the one taking another scar if he leapt forward alone, that stilled his paws and made him wait for Bubblingstar to take the lead.
Once the sick cats were healed--and they would recover--and he had more time to devote, Frozenlaurel would immediately push for more spars with the other warriors. He felt so useless, standing here, knowing the cat that attacked his daughter was prowling in the territory and recognizing his own skill might not be enough to win. When every cat was healthy, he'd taken comfort in YewClan's numbers; only now when a quarter of their strength was gone, taken in one unfortunate moon, that he realized he couldn't, shouldn't, rely on that, and that sometimes, he needed to be the strong one.
Even if he didn't have the fighting moves, he knew tactics. Knew how to corner prey, how to anticipate where a cat will be. "They can't have went far, there's not many places the rogue could go without running into the ridgeline. We can cut them off where the tumbled trees will slow them down."
-x-----------x-

Spottedfur — had a huge argument with Shadepatch & reacting to Scarletdrift’s prankEver since Stormmask had eaten poisoned prey, Spottedfur was checking up on his daughter as much as he could. He had plenty of time to see how she was doing, but her state seemed concerning to him. It was as if Shadepatch wasn’t doing enough for her poisoned clanmates. Even Mistleheart wasn’t doing well, for StarClan’s sake! Full of rage, he spotted Shadepatch outside the medicine cat’s den. His silver gaze was narrowed and glinting at the young she-cat. ”You’ve got a lot of nerve to think you’re a full medicine cat! Look at all of the poisoned cats in our ranks. Yet none of them are well,” the old speckled tom quarreled, not caring if he hurt Shadepatch’s feelings. ”You should be doing your job and saving your clanmates! StarClan knows we can’t lose a single one of them. You better figure this out, Shadepatch. If their sickness gets worse, it’s your fault.”At least Stormmask is helpful, he thought bitterly. Without another word to Shadepatch, the elder stormed off and towards his nest. He hoped to find Scarletdrift or some cat that wasn’t Shadepatch. He would be angry until his clanmates were healed properly. [tags: cometchaos] ~•~ The next day, Spottedfur had gone on a little hunt by himself. It felt nice to get out of camp where he hadn’t slept in a few sunrises. He couldn’t stop worrying about his clanmates who were poisoned. Plus, he had criticized Shadepatch one sunrise ago. He just couldn’t believe that all of the poisoned cats were still ill. He refused to leave Stormmask’s side at times, but the medicine cat den was becoming full and stuffy. As he reached the elder’s den, the silver tom plopped down into his nest. Yet there was a strange crack coming from his moss nest. Had he broken a bone? He continued to rustle about in his nest and felt a tiny poke. Spottedfur let out a snort before getting up from his nest to inspect it. As he pawed carefully through it, he realized he had been pranked! But who was behind this cute, harmless prank? While he thought for a few moments, Spottedfur began to eliminate culprit by culprit. It then dawned on him that it was a clever clanmate of his. ”Scarletdrift! Do you have twigs in your nest?” he called out. ”Some cat stuffed mine with twigs and old moss! Where are Cinderpaw and Drizzlepaw when you need them?”[tags: dewbranch]

Stormmask — thinking about kittypet life, thinking about Slatefoot & envious of Cinderpaw
After taking a dose of ragwort, Stormmask lay curled up in her fresh moss nest. Plenty of cats were in the medicine cat’s den, but mostly for the same reason— poisoning. It made her wonder if kittypets ever experienced poisoning whenever they were fed by their twolegs. Surely not, right? They had strange food though— maybe they rarely got sick from it. So, in theory, maybe it wasn’t so bad. But she wasn’t so sure.
While staring at the herb storage of her den, the grey tabby’s thoughts wandered to Slatefoot. The young warrior had been trained by Bubblingstar, the leader they both had a good relationship with. Something about Slatefoot impressed Stormmask, how talented she was. How steady she was on her paws— it was a talent that Stormmask hadn’t noticed before. She even noticed that the grey and white spotted she-cat was an amazing runner. Over the past few sunsets, she had watched Slatefoot enter camp at an indescribable speed. She even checked in on Mistleheart and Pondspeckle, who were also sick. How one cat became so talented amazed the medicine cat.
Later that day, Stormmask’s thoughts were entirely different. She thought of Cinderpaw, who had brought her the best prey around. Yet she hadn’t felt the need to eat since she was poisoned. She was envious of Cinderpaw, who was free to do almost anything she wanted. In the meantime, Stormmask sat in camp, confined to its walls and not allowed to leave. A bit of jealousy rose in her stomach while she pawed at her meal. It’s not fair, she mused in a childish way. I should be out gathering herbs, not trapped inside camp.
Unfortunately, the more responsible part of the grey tabby knew she would have to wait. She simply didn't want to, but the indisputable truth was right there. Stormmask would have to wait and obey by what she needed to become healthy.

Pondspeckle Sick Pondspeckle was in a... better mood today. He still blamed himself for all that had happened, but he wasn’t as grumpy about it. He knew that they would likely all recover, given the proper herbs. This morning, Shadepatch had given him... was it... ragwort? He could vaguely remember the scent from his brief time as a kit, learning about herbs. Hayfeather was still in the medicine den. She didn’t deserve to have to spent some of her first moons as a warrior stuck in the medicine den. Didn’t deserve to have another scar parting her perfect patterned fur. He wanted to do something to help. As Shadepatch entered the medicine den, he called out to the molly: “Is there anything I can do?”
Fish with Frozenlaurel (Brownie )
“Hey.” Pondspeckle greeted his father drowsily. Frozenlaurel had brought three large fish with him. “Thanks.” Pondspeckle said as Frozenlaurel nudged the fish towards him. Pondspeckle was about to take a bite of the fish when he stopped and recoiled. Frozenlaurel said that he met a FlowerClan cat while fishing, but he’d assumed that he met across the Rushing Creek. This stench was potent and strong – he didn’t know how he didn’t smell it before. “What... a FlowerClan cat? I... what were you doing?” Pondspeckle asked, his eyes narrowing slightly, but not in a hostile manner.
Argues with Hunterswipe (lazzylake )
“I’m sorry if you don’t like it, but you don’t smell the best either.” Pondspeckle told Hunterswipe as Pondspeckle ate his fish. Hunterswipe, the grumpy old cat, had been complaining of the smell. Pondspeckle didn’t really enjoy the smell either, but it was what it was, and it was food. Pondspeckle finished eating quickly, and when he did, said, somewhat triumphantly, “Look. No more smell. All gone.”

hey guys love you all <3 It's moon day but I woke up today with a fever. I should be able to still get the moon up today, but it might be a smidge late and/or more likely to have some minor errors than usual~
It was honestly pretty funny to see my pokemon sleep graphs when I was sleeping with fever. I was getting up to roll around every 20-30 mins ;-; Didn't have a lick of deep sleep either. It's one thing to feel like you're up all night and another to see just how accurate that is haha ]]
