Spottedfur : hunting patrol with Thrushfleck & Hazelpelt Hunting always brought some distraction to Spottedfur and he needed it more than ever. After things had gone wrong twice with confessing his love to Scarletdrift, a hunting patrol was sure to change his mind. He was with Thrushfleck and Hazelpelt, one of the new kittypets that had joined the clan. As grumpy as he had been for two moons now, it seemed that wasn't going to change. Not until Scarletdrift became his mate at least.
As playful as Thrushfleck could be, Spottedfur wasn't in the mood for the young warrior's antics. He had never really seen eye to eye with the ginger and cream tom either. He assumed that Hazelpelt couldn't take things seriously at all. After all, she was a former kittypet and that alone ruffled his fur. Maybe she was different from the rest, but he wasn't convinced just yet.
While the prey had been plentiful like Thrushfleck had said, the grey speckled tom preferred to hunt some more. They could all do with a bit more prey despite the pile being full. Plus, it gave him an excuse to be far from camp though he wasn't going to mention that to his clanmates. "Whatever, Thrushfleck. I'm sure the prey pile is packed," Spottedfur countered, clearly annoyed by his clanmate.
He slowed down, noticing an odd and unwelcomed scent of a predator. Unsurprisingly, Thrushfleck was right– there was a red fox present and Spottedfur wanted nothing to do with it. "Really? You want to take the fox on when we have plenty of prey with us? What's the point in fighting it when we're only meant to hunt on this patrol?" he snapped, trying to keep his voice down. He then fixated his silver gaze on Hazelpelt, expecting her to pay attention. "I'm sure Hazelpelt disagrees with you. Don't you think we should warn Bubblingstar about it first?"
As he gazed at Hazelpelt, Spottedfur waited for an answer. Whether she agreed with him or Thrushfleck would prove something to the old tom. [ tags: grimmreminder & jaybun! ]
Spottedfur : talking with Heavy & touched noses with a loner It was no surprise to any cat that Spottedfur had been sulking in camp for the past two moons. He had tried again to ask Scarletdrift to be his mate. It seemed quite desperate and lousy, but he couldn't help it– his feelings for the tom were evident. While his clanmates whispered and shared gossip among each other, he was too sullen to be annoyed. If anything, he felt a bit more worthless with each word. Whether Scarletdrift loved him back or was in cahoots with another cat, Spottedfur just wanted a straightforward answer. Surely it would break his heart if he was rejected once more, but he couldn't help it. He loved Scarletdrift as if he had never loved before. Even the white and ginger tom's valiant effort that saved Haykit from a hawk made his heart lurch. Yet he couldn't bring himself to visit Scarletdrift in the medicine cat's den as the humiliation was too much.
The presence of Heavy was easy for him to recognize– he didn't have to turn to look at the calico molly to know she was there. Although Spottedfur and Heavy had not gotten along, there was a sense of tolerance between the two. Even the grey speckled tom knew of the molly's troubles with love. She had a litter of kits with Stemriver, who she immediately clicked with once she joined the clan. Yet the two never became mates. Maybe it wasn't in the cards for him like Heavy and Stemriver. Though he wished deeply that he would have a mate before he passed on. The comfort of knowing he had found another cat to love was immense. It couldn't be explained in words, but it could be explained in actions. Maybe that's why he chose to touch noses with a loner as if it meant nothing to him. He felt unwanted and for a brief moment, that touch brought him comfort. It may have not been Scarletdrift, but it filled that empty void for a few seconds.
When Heavy finally spoke, Spottedfur raised his head, feeling her multicolored fur brush against his grey spotted pelt. He gently brushed his fur against hers in a platonic manner. "Oh, they definitely are," he admitted, holding back a sigh of frustration. "If only relationships were simple, maybe then I would have better luck with them."
He paused before turning to glance at the calico warrior. "I'm sorry if I seem… out of it lately. It seems like the entire clan knows what I've been up to and it certainly spreads like wildfire, doesn't it? Even the new kits know I asked Scarletdrift to be my mate," he rambled, quickly adding a weak chuckle. "How do you do it, Heavy? How can you love someone so much and face rejection? I feel like I'm pining after him pretty hard, but will Scarletdrift ever see me like I see him?"

Stormmask : herb gathering - alone In what felt like moons ago, Stormmask was finally patrolling without a warrior escort. Earlier this moon, she had collected cobwebs, wild garlic, and daisy without any issues. The bright sun shone down on YewClan's lush forest, leaving the medicine cat in a great mood. She hadn't felt this content in a while, considering that the war had finally come to an end. Luckily, the casualties were few and far between which Stormmask believed was the doing of StarClan. It was possible that listening to their voices for moons and trying to interpret them had benefited YewClan.
Stormmask needed to gather mullein as she was in need of the tall, bright yellow plant. Its beautiful flowers seemed to reach up high during greenleaf, especially when the sun was out. The grey tabby molly made her way towards the usual place where mullein grew. She knew this spot well from past moons where she would gather the herb. As she approached, Stormmask rose a furrowed brow– something was not right with the mullein plant. It was strangely shorter than last year in greenleaf and there wasn't much for her to collect. If she took all that was left, there would be nothing for her to harvest next season.
She let out a grumble, clearly bothered by the mullein's current state. Why? she wondered, staring intently at the flowering plant. As she delicately removed two stalks of mullein, the medicine cat didn't want to deplete the resources she had here– she refused to. Stormmask knew she would have to find a new place to gather the perennial plant. She hoped it wouldn't be difficult, but that was all part of her duties as a medicine cat. Once the two stalks were lying next to her forepaws, Stormmask carefully lifted them up and carried the stalks back to camp.

ooc;; i'll work on bubblingstar's reply a little later :3 had a long day out yesterday! HAZELPELT - Hunting with Spottedfur & Thrushfleck Hazelpelt had taken a liking to hunting as she settled into her role as a warrior. She much preferred it to border patrol anyway, even if the war with Flowerclan was over; it was always so stressful. More than anything, Hazel wanted to make a good impression on Spottedfur. The elder warrior was no doubt respected within Yewclan, but one of the most talented hunters she'd seen so far! Each patrol she shared with him, Hazelpelt did her best to study the tom's technique- hoping to absorb a little of that expertise for herself. Thrushfleck, however, was a breath of a fresh air. His playful antics and more relaxed attitude helped cut through the tension she felt. She stifled a giggle as he batted at her ears in passing, so caught up in planning her return attack she almost didn't notice the foreign stench lingering in the air. A fox Thrushfleck called it, and Hazel quickly added it to her rapidly growing well of knowledge. It seemed whatever a fox was, it was bad news (like most things out in the wild were, she mused). Hazelpelt glanced between the two more senior warriors as they argued, startling as Spottedfur turned to her. " Uh- w-well," the brown molly spluttered, " maybe we should take care of it? Who knows if we'd find it...again..." she trailed off uncertainly, voice growing quiet underneath Spottedfur's intense gaze.

grimmreminder Mistleheart (sunbathing with Thrushfleck and Stemriver) Mistleheart sighed with relief when the war with FlowerClan has concluded with no deaths and little injuries. What is even more amazing, after peace was restored, YewClan and FlowerClan were finally in good terms again! Also, Mistleheart was relieved that the small Clan, YewClan was finally growing larger, with the recent additions of the former kittypet, Hazelpelt, and the former kittypet queen, Frozenlaurel, and his two kits, Pondkit and Haykit. Mistleheart thanked StarClan for the turn of events and no one died in the war. However, little Haykit was attacked by a hawk, but was thankfully saved by the brave senior warrior, Scarletdrift. But Haykit was left heavily injured, and there was a small chance that she wouldn't make it! This caused the white and gray warrior to worry about her, but since StarClan had been so nice to YewClan lately by ending the war between YewClan and FlowerClan with no death, Mistleheart had high faith that they will be able to heal Haykit from the wounds. Mistleheart finished grooming her pelt while sitting in her nest at noon. Her fur now looked sleek and shiny, and she figured since there wasn't much to do at the moment, she would spend time making it look very nice. She padded out of the warrior's den, to a bright and sunny greenleaf day. Mistleheart caught of the ginger and white warrior, Thrushfleck, sunbathing on a rock next to his father, Stemriver. " Ya' come with us?" He meowed to her. A warm purr escaped Mistleheart's throat. " Why, of course Thrushfleck!" purred Mistleheart. " I have free time at the moment." The young warrior has become pretty good friends with the ginger and white warrior the past moon, though not as good friends as with his sister, Slatefoot. Mistleheart trod towards a vacant sunbathing rock, and leapt elegantly on it. She lay down on it, her white fur catching the bright sunlight. Mistleheart purred as warmth from the sun enaminated every inch of her body. It felt so good that she lay in the sun for a few hours, until it was time to go on a border patrol with the deputy, Dappleswipe, and Brightleaf. dewbranch Mistleheart (Border patrol with Dappleswipe and Brightleaf, and hopes she is assigned in a patrol with Thrushfleck +) Mistleheart padded with the deputy, Dappleswipe, and Brightleaf, a younger warrior from YewClan. As she walked, her thoughts drifted at the time spent sunbathing with Thrushfleck. Mistleheart had a wonderful time speaking with him, becoming fast friends with ginger tom. She wanted to be assigned on a patrol with him by Dappleswipe, so she could have bonding time with the tom. Mistleheart, lost in thoughts, suddenly regains alertness by smelling a whiff of a dog in YewClan's territory! " Dappleswipe, Brightleaf, there is a dog in our territory! We must follow the scent and drive it out!" Yowled Mistleheart, ears flattened back, and hackles raised. The YewClan cats followed the scent of the dog, which was getting closer and closer at every step that Mistleheart took. Finally, the bushes open up to a sight of a fluffy small dog, yapping loudly towards Mistleheart and the other Clan cats. Mistleheart watched as Brightleaf charge straight at the small dog, ignoring the danger of getting hurt. But the cream-furred warrior was struggling to get a hold of the small dog, it's very fluffy fur protecting it's body from getting injured. " What should we do?!" Yowled Brightleaf " Are dogs... usually this... fluffy?" " No" meowed Mistleheart irritably, her tail lashing with frustration. " Nor are dogs usually this small! I guess this dog is fluffy to suit it for leaf-bare. I think we should leave it alone, and watch it to make sure it doesn't come closer to camp. When it leaves our territory, we can return home!" " Though..." Mistleheart paused to think " What do you think Dappleswipe?" " After all, Dappleswipe is the deputy of our Clan, so she has the final say about this tricky situation!" Mistleheart ( Is wondering what the inside of the Twoleg den is like, and argues and borderline-fights with a cat from PlumClan.) Mistleheart was lost in thoughts, while on a border patrol with two other YewClan warriors, imagining an alternative scenario were she wasn't brought into YewClan as a kit. Things would of been very different! The white furred warrior could of died as a kit due to starvation... " Or..." Mistleheart thought " I could've been found by Twolegs..." If Mistleheart, Mistle then, was found by Twolegs, she would've been adopted by them and live in their den. Mistleheart racked her brain hard to imagine what a Twoleg den would've been like. She had been to an abandoned Twoleg den to hunt a ton of mice back in newleaf this year. But to imagine a Twoleg den inhabited by Twolegs was almost impossible... To think how it would smell, feel, or even how the Twolegs move around in it and use their things in it was very difficult. She briefly wondered if she would've prefered to be a kittypet than a warrior of YewClan, but she dismissed it as as a Kittypet she would have been forced to eat horrible Kittypet food and not be hungry enough to hunt a lot of prey, and not hunt prey due to them being in Clans' territories, and that she would've have enjoyed the thrill of being in the wild - being a wild cat, rather than a Twoleg-tamed one. Mistleheart regained focus when one of the warriors noticed that she was daydreaming and told her to stay focused. She was patrolling the border of YewClan and PlumClan. Mistleheart halted when she smelled the strong smell of a PlumClan cat inside the YewClan side of the border. The white and gray warrior stopped in front of a black tom with green eyes. He was a PlumClan cat, and he was in YewClan's territory! Mistleheart raised her hackles, unsheathed her claws, and flattened her ears in response. " What are YOU doing in YewClan's territory!" Yowled Mistleheart. " This is not PlumClan's land!" " Hunting in your territory!" Growled the black tom, his green eyes flashing with anger. " YewClan is so small, and you have too much land! And therefore too much prey to catch! You should let PlumClan cats take up most of your huge territory, so our Clan get more prey to eat! WE are a LARGE Clan and need more prey than you YewClan cats!" " YewClan is growing! We had two more warriors join, and had two new kits join too!" Argued Mistleheart " And we NEED that prey during leaf-bare, because the prey is scarce. You can't just take it!" The PlumClan cat scoffed " Joined by kittypets?! YewClan needs CLANBORN blood, not kittypets! Kittypets can never be warriors, as they don't have warrior blood! And WE, PlumClan cats suffer MORE in leaf-bare, because we are a much bigger Clan than you cats!" " But one former-kittypet has trained very hard as a warrior of YewClan, and is now a very skilled hunter and fighter! Just because they were Kittypets, that doesn't mean that they can't become skilled warriors!" The black tom and Mistleheart carried on arguing with each other about territory ownership. Mistleheart was just about to spring and attack the PlumClan cat, paws outstretched , when a YewClan warrior stopped her and told her to calm down, as they didn’t want blood to be spilt over just a singular territory intrusion! Mistleheart calmed down, and chased the PlumClan tom out of YewClan's territory with the other two YewClan warriors, hackles raised, but calm and collected.

Stemriver
Kind, intelligent, curious, and friendly. Can be a bit grumpy but still kind and stuff. Gets into arguments easily but solves them fast. Kind of overworked. In free time, just goes to a small canopy of brambles and looks at the stars. Knows some herbs like Brightheart - level. Not as strong as other warriors, but good at hunting.

Also, you need to put: “I understand that my cats will eventually die during the course of the game. Haykit taken by a hawk and saved by scarletdrift // with scarletdrift @dewbranch
YewClan was a strange place. So many cats lived here! And they had so many rules and beliefs. Her father had tried to explain it to them, but it was a lot to wrap her head around. How could they remember everything? How they lived by the warrior code, all the different ranks, how leaders got nine lives, and their names changed to 'star, and they believed in StarClan! The little gray kit giggled at the thought; StarClan seemed to be the silliest belief YewClan had. How could dead cats possibly always be watching if they were, well, dead? Haykit thought it was just a kit tale. Grown-ups were always making up silly stories.
Tiny paws stretched in front of her before she arose from her position outside the nursery entrance. Frozenlaurel had left with Bubblingstar hours before. Haykit intended to await him so he could tell her all about their trip around the territory. But she was getting sleepy. Opening her jaws in a yawn, Haykit rose to her paws and turned to head back to the den. But a sudden gust of wind above her stopped her in her tracks(the sound of beating wings, her father had yet to tell her about the threats of the skies). Odd. It didn't feel windy, it was actually quite nice out today. So why was she hearing that sound? And why was it getting closer?
But, before the she-kit could solve the mystery, a dark shadow loomed over her. And Haykit looked up to see the great bird diving straight toward her with an ear-splitting screech. She screamed in terror as its talons latched onto her, and before she knew it she was airborne. "No! Help! Father!" She squealed, scanning the clearing for any cat to help her as she was taken away further and further from the ground.
But as quickly as it happened, her savior arrived. Scarletdrift, launched into the air, the bird releasing her at the attack. Haykit fell to the ground with an oomph, trembling in fear. Her flanks burned from where its talons were once dug deep. Scarletdrift landed and quickly scooped her up, heading to Stormmask's den.
Stupid kit! She scolded herself. Here she was causing trouble, now everyone would fuss over her. If only she'd looked up in time to prevent such an occurrence.

Heavy »
asks spottedfur how he's doing - Sand
Heavy knew not the story of Spottedfur and his former mate, the cat who had mothered Stormmask. She was well aware that Spottedfur had once had a mate at his side, but that was no longer reality. The tom's mate had died long before Heavy had even joined the Clan, and while curiosity sparked in her like a small flame, she had never asked. The calico didn't feel like she was close enough with Spottedfur to pester him deeply about the loss of his last mate or to ask how their courtship had occurred. A few moons back she had had a brief conversation with Stormmask about the medicine cat's mother, but there had not been a lot of detail given - not that she had been vying for details to begin with, their conversation had been more about StarClan than Stormmask's mother to begin with.
The calico warrior knew even less about the story of Scarletdrift and his late mate. She had barely even gotten to know the ginger and white tom's kits - Beesong and Frostfleck - before they had passed away. Frostfleck had been deputy before Dappleswipe had earned the role, while Beesong had remained a loyal warrior up until the end. If Heavy was being honest, she couldn't even recall how the two mollies had met their ends. Had Beesong met her end from a snake? And wasn't it rogues that had taken Frostfleck from them? Heavy had not been a part of the Clan for long when those tragedies had struck - she recalled being stuck in the medicine cat den still, fighting off infection and a broken back that she had thought she'd never heal from. She had lived among Frostfleck and Beesong for a few moons, yet not long enough to get to know them, so knowing anything about their mother would be a surprise. This did make Heavy ponder whether or not this was the reason for Scarletdrift's rejection; he had gone through so much heartbreak when it came to the cats he loved. Was he scared to try and love again, afraid that something might happen to Spottedfur?
Her attention focused back in on Spottedfur when she felt the brush of his fur against her own. She shifted, settling into her spot some more. A low sigh slipped from her mouth followed by an understanding smile. "You don't need to apologize for how you feel. It's hard to hide things from the Clan, even if you wish that they stayed hidden." Heavy recalled how almost every cat in the Clan knew Stemriver had fathered her kits before she had confirmed it to any other soul. Sure, it wouldn't have taken much to guess who her kits' father was, but Heavy didn't want the Clan to know unless Stemriver was okay with it. When her kits had first been born she had no idea if the tom - who had not been a warrior for long back then - had wanted to be a part of their lives. She wanted him to make that decision for himself and whatever he decided she would have accepted. In the end Stemriver had decided to be a part of their lives and had been okay with the Clan knowing he was their father, but all of YewClan spreading the rumor around before Stemriver had been ready to step forward had left a sour taste in the back of Heavy's mouth all those seasons ago. But a Clan would be a Clan. Nothing remained secret for long in such a small group of cats.
"Unlike you, Spottedfur, I have yet to face rejection," she admitted with a flick of her tail, drawing the appendage over and around her paws. It could be said that she had been rejected in the fact that her and Stemriver had never become mates, but that was simply a mutual thing. She had never asked him to be her mate and he had never asked her in return, so in a way, there had never been anything to reject. Did it sometimes hurt to know that the cat she had kits with was not her mate? Did she sometimes long to have a more intimate relationship with the former FlowerClan cat? Deep down she did find herself longing for more, yearning for something that may never be, but she had not the strength to ask. Yes, Stemriver had kits with her, but that didn't automatically mean they were anything more than close friends. For all Heavy knew Stemriver didn't share the same deep romantic feelings that she had for him. Perhaps there was something about her that made Stemriver look the other way, something wrong about her that the tom just didn't want to commit to. Perhaps there was some other molly, or tomcat, that Stemriver truly desired over her. Maybe she just wasn't good enough.
Swallowing away her depressing thoughts, Heavy turned her attention back to Spottedfur. Her heart ached for the tomcat - perhaps they didn't often get along, but he was still a Clanmate, and Heavy wanted her Clanmates to be happy. To be at peace. "Maybe Scarletdrift's scared of letting himself love again," the molly suggested, voicing her thoughts from earlier. "He's lost his entire family, and maybe he's worried that he'd face heartbreak again if he accepted you as his mate." These words were only speculation, but what other reason was there for Scarletdrift to reject Spottedfur? The two toms had always seemed close. The fact that they weren't already mates was a little odd, but what did Heavy know? Her relationships weren't exactly the best examples to put out there.

Cat's name: Frozenlaurel Description: Formerly, Frozenlaurel was a kitty pet but being cooped up between four walls never sat right with him, he always wished to explore and hunt for himself. Joining the wild cats was something he had always dreamt of and joining YewClan, his true personality was able to be shown. Frozenlaurel is by nature inquisitive and curious, always wanting to know what's going on, maybe this is what makes him rather sneaky. He is generally quite quiet although energetic and stealthy, despite being a former kittypet he is aware of what he needs to be a good warrior and incredibly ambitious towards his goals. - starstrucknight I understand that my cats will eventually die during the course of the game. I understand that while I may influence my character's actions and relationships, the game's random events will ultimately decide my cat's fate (Hope everything's alright theree)

Stemriver>finishes hunting sometimes Stemriver was aware of what the prey felt and if he had to feel like it. When he was hunting, it took his brain away from anything else. He sniffed the air and caught a scent of squirrel. He dropped into a hunter’s crouched and pounced on it, not needing to chase it around the whole forest as it felt like to him. He walked back to where he had buried his prey. He dug directly under the fresh spot and grabbed his prey. He walked back to the camp, prey dangling from his jaws.
He traded his squirrel for a vole and padded over to Heavy and Spottedfur and asked to share. They nodded politely but when he entered the camp they looked like they were sharing tongues with each other already. He didn’t have much to say. He felt like maybe Heavy could see how he felt but he never was able to have that sort of power. It was a short time but he realised they had already finished up the vole. He padded away and then they starting sharing tongues again. He was confused how they weren’t talking when he was there. *idk how to use image

Spottedfur : talking with Heavy Heavy had a point, he had to admit that; there was no need to apologize. Even though he wished to hide his feelings, there was no way (realistically) that they'd stay hidden forever. His sulking and grumpiness were obvious that even a newborn kit would notice it. Not to mention, YewClan was a clan– full of plenty of cats who were like family to each other. Even then, Heavy's words lifted some stress from his shoulders and Spottedfur was grateful for that. "You're right, Heavy. I wish I could have seen it that way beforehand," he admitted, dipping his head in gratitude to the calico.
Spottedfur wondered if Heavy was lucky, unlucky, or simply left to ponder about the "what ifs" when it came to rejection. He felt unlucky and was certainly doing a lot of thinking. Yet he wasn't ready to give up just yet. He would try again and again in hopes that his love for Scarletdrift would be reciprocated. Was it the smartest idea? No, but the speckled senior warrior wanted some cat to love and that cat was Scarletdrift. Maybe with time his affection would be accepted.
Hearing Heavy's voice again, the senior warrior's ears pricked up. He had never thought of the molly's suggestion as a reason. Guilt washed over Spottedfur. The white and ginger tom had lost his former mate and two daughters that had bright futures. Yet here he was, whining about being rejected. He could understand the heartbreak which he had gone through when Mosspond passed away. It had taken him a long time to accept her passing and the grief was shocking. He raised his daughter alone, just as Scarletdrift did with his kits.
He glanced at Heavy with a guilt ridden gaze and a weak smile. "I… I can understand that very well. I never thought I would love again after Mosspond, but I found it in Scarletdrift," Spottedfur mewed softly. We both have lost our former mates and I hope he knows I can relate to him. I know losing Frostfleck and Beeesong was difficult, but I want him to see my confession as that he can learn to love again."
The senior warrior came to a pause, letting out a long and deep sigh. "Thanks for the talk, Heavy. I appreciate it," he told her with an appreciative grin.

Spottedfur : hunting patrol with Thrushfleck & Hazelpelt Spottedfur wasn't comfortable fighting the red fox. YewClan had just escaped a challenging war with FlowerClan and they didn't need anymore issues. They were on a hunting patrol, not a patrol to hunt down a fox and steal its prey. The silver speckled tom believed that the group should report the fox to Bubblingstar once they were back in camp. Seeing as Hazelpelt and Thrushfleck didn't agree with him, Spottedfur was going to make sure his voice was heard.
The senior warrior raised a furrowed brow at Hazelpelt's response which was about what one would expect from a kittypet. He didn't mind the admiration from the cinnamon tabby molly, but she definitely needed to learn more about clan life. Nonetheless, he hoped Thrushfleck could teach her some things too. Maybe they would get along more than he did with most cats as of late.
"No, going after the fox isn't what we are supposed to do. We are a hunting patrol which means we hunt for the clan. We will inform Bubblingstar about the fox and that's it," he meowed sternly, his silver gaze steely. "Now, let's get back to camp. We don't have time to waste."
Without hearing a word from either of his patrolmates, Spottedfur picked up his prey. He pivoted, then began walking away in the direction of camp. If his knowledge as a senior warrior didn't tell his clanmates something, there was nothing more he could do.

*idk how to use image Go to the image of Stemriver, right-click and press copy image address. Then, in you reply, press "Insert image" (It should be near insert emoji). It will give you a menu thingy that says 'Image URL' and 'Alt text', paste the image address into the Image URL, and leave the Alt text blank. Either this, or I can give you his BBCode embed and then all you have to do is save it somewhere (a draft is nice) and then paste that wherever you want the image to be ]]

Dappleswipe - scolds Mistleheart SapphirejasHer hackles were also up when the patrol encountered PlumClan scent, even if confusion wrinkled her brow. They hardly shared any border with PlumClan, and the orchard-dwelling cats were typically allies of YewClan--or at least mellow (and soft) enough to not want to cause trouble with their harsher neighbors. But the war with FlowerClan still sat heavy in her stomach, and so everything felt a threat. Even PlumClan. It was Mistleheart who shot forward to deal with the intruder, a single cat with a sparrow at his paws. A cat Dappleswipe knew, or at least knew of: Coalstorm, a young warrior that was formerly PlumClan's deputy's apprentice. She'd heard about his troublesome nature at length during gatherings, when the deputies talked among themselves at the foot of the Leader's stone before the meeting started. Coalstorm was hot-headed and not very much liked in PlumClan, who preferred their cats calm and easygoing. He also, apparently, had a problem with kittypets. Dappleswipe rolled her eyes. Which had been the kittypet, his mother or his father? Probably his father, she decided, if he was acting out so desperately, as if to prove his strength. But then the argument went past spat words and curled lips and Dappleswipe knew she had to intervene before there was blood spilled. The deputy stepped up and grabbed Mistleheart by the scruff, pulling her warrior away from the border. "Enough," she said, letting her go a few pawsteps away. "You're better than that, Mistleheart. He's trying to get under your fur." Dappleswipe let her copper gaze fall to the PlumClan cat, who was only now realizing he was outnumbered three-to-one. "And I suggest you enjoy the next few suns. I'd bet all the sparrows in the forest that you'll be confined to camp for the next moon once I tell Applestreak about this... incident at the Gathering."
Dappleswipe - on patrol with Mistleheart Sapphirejas and Brightleaf dewbranchDappleswipe trotted towards the borders, content to take the lead on this one. She'd arranged this one personally, as she wanted to keep an eye on Mistleheart after the previous patrol's encounter with PlumClan. She'd added Brightleaf on too. It had been too long since she'd been on patrol with the light ginger molly, and Dappleswipe was surprised to find that she missed Brightleaf's company and bright smiles. Dog-scent wasn't as common as fox or badger in YewClan's territory, but Dappleswipe had smelled it plenty enough to recognize it on the wind. She was just about to advise caution when Brightleaf threw herself towards the threat, Dappleswipe forced to chase after, terrified of snapping jaws and-- The dog was small, hardly bigger than Brightleaf, and looked like a puff of cotton fluff. "Are dogs... usually this... fluffy?" Brightleaf called between ineffective strikes, the dog yipping and dancing circles around the flustered warrior. Dappleswipe had to hold back a laugh, her relief breaking in a tide of amusement. Thank StarClan it didn't look dangerous. She nodded at Mistleheart's suggestion. "Dogs can't climb trees. We can wait for it to tire itself out, then drive it off," the deputy explained. It was a common tactic for dealing with dogs, who had no patience and would wear themselves out trying to get at a cat in a tree, rather than waiting and reserving their energy like a sensible creature would. Dogs were stupid and that could be exploited.
Dappleswipe - visits with Haykit whispering and mentions Scarletdrift dewbranch and Stormmask SandDappleswipe heard the yowls from the warrior's den. She'd been napping after a long dawn patrol--the dog had yapped its head off for hours--but the screeches tore the deputy from her dreams and she rushed out of the clearing, blinking sleep from her eyes, just in time to see the hawk fly away. Scarletdrift's distinctive white-and-ginger pelt was spiked as he curled over a small, grey-and-red patch of fur... Dappleswipe's blood ran to ice as she froze. It was a kit. The hawk had tried to take a kit. Her paws were moving before her foggy mind could catch up, following Scarletdrift into the healer's den. "Is she alive?" Dappleswipe demanded, for once glad of her position as deputy as she shouldered her way deeper into the den to stand over Haykit. She was glad to see the kitten was still breathing, even if she was bleeding from the hawk's talons. Without a second thought, Dappleswipe dropped into a crouch and started to clean Haykit's fur of blood. She wasn't happy, so it was hard to force a purr from her chest, but it would help calm the kit--and herself--as she worked. "It'll be alright," Dappleswipe mewed, soothingly. "You're a brave warrior. Stormmask will fix you up. You remember Stormmask?" YewClan's healer would be here any moment now, but Dappleswipe wasn't going to let Haykit from her sight until she'd been treated. The kitten's well being was the most important thing right now. She'd thank Scarletdrift for saving her later, once she was in Stormmask's able paws.

Haykit comforted by dappleswipe, treated by Stormmask // Brownie Sand
Haykit mewled in protest as Scarletdrift carried her to the medicine den. When the tom dropped her, she glared at him with a scowl. She was capable of taking herself! The scratches along her flanks were merely throbbing now. But before the molly could open her jaws to protest, Dappleswipe emerged. Great, another cat to fret over me.
But she kept her thoughts to herself as the tortoiseshell began to lick her clean. Her anger ebbed at every swipe. Haykit couldn't help but sigh. Frozenlaurel was never worrying over her like these cats. But, then again, they had never encountered any danger. Not so severe. And her mother was... Haykit didn't remember her mother. Would she be just as worried as Dappleswipe and Scarletdrift if she were here? The gray tabby tried to reach back into her memory, but all that came to mind was the scents of warm milk and hay. She could remember the hay; it was prickly yet comforting. She'd just been known as Hay' then. And Frozenlaurel was Laurel, but she wouldn't see him as often. And her mother... she couldn't remember the molly no matter how hard she tried.
You're a strong warrior.
Dappleswipe's comforting meow aroused Haykit from her thoughts. Yes, she was strong! And she was lucky, too. Who knows what would have happened to her if Scarletdrift hadn't shown up? She'd have been bird food, leaving her poor father to deal with Pondkit all by himself.
"Stormmask?" She asked, turning her yellow-green gaze away from the deputy, and into the shadowy den. She'd met the she-cat before, briefly. She was the medicine cat. But what was a medicine cat? "Is she gonna' fix me? How can a cat be a healer?"
✰✰✰ (i've headcannoned that frozenlaurel's name used to be laurel, and he forfeited his kittypet life bc something(?) happened to their rogue mother, i hope that's fine with you all stormshade1 starstrucknight)

(Yeah that's fine with me whispering )
《◇Frozenlaurel◇》
Frozenlaurel took in the surroundings as Bubblingstar showed him the clans territory, he tried to memorise what he learnt, it did seem world's away from what he was used to with his former twolegs territory that only had a smaller patch to protect. Already he could see how different clan life was to his comfy life with his twoleg owners, did he miss them? Frozenlaurel couldn't be sure, they did treat him with kindess and admittedly did care for him but still his thoughts had always drifted to what it would be like to leave and be more free. With these thoughts his mind drifted to his kits, wondering if leaving was the right choice for them but he knew the clan would keep them safe and after all that was what their mother would have wanted...Frozenlaurel shook that thought off quickly, he didn't want to dwell on that and focused his attention again on the learning of the borders of the territory. It did send a thrill running through his fur as he felt the ground beneath his paws knowing all this territory was his to help protect and hopefully he would become a good warrior, that was his dream anyway and he would do whatever he could to achieve that. Frozenlaurel breathed in the smell of the air, he knew it would still take a while to distinguish between the different smells and know exactly what they were.

MORE KITS? It's more likely than you'd think! leafpelt11 it's up to you where these kits came from! They are labelled as half-Clan in the files. They can be Stemriver's, with another Clan molly, or they can be one of Stemriver's kin's (a sister, perhaps) who had them with a cat outside FlowerClan and she was scared they wouldn't be accepted in FlowerClan with half-Clan blood and gave them to him to raise. Or anything you'd like hehe Also Heavy x Stem is official! yay! First official mates in YewClan! It only took 42 moons.... ]]
