I saw that many on this forum didn't like this book. I just finished it and I quite liked it, it was pleasant to read overall. Although Tigerstar isn't a character I particularly like, I didn't hate him as a protagonist. Let me know what you think of Tigerheart's Shadow.

It was alright. I actually liked it until Tigerheart was prepared to leave everything behind by staying in StarClan. The entire book, heโs conflicted between choosing his Clan or his mate and kits, and itโs like he was suddenly ready to drop all of those options behind while they still needed him. In fact, StarClan is giving him the chance to return, and itโs as if he doesnโt want to go! That shocked me and left a bad taste in my mouth, as it didnโt seem consistent with his character, whom Iโd grown to like throughout the book. Other than that, good read ๐

My least favorite SE for my least favorite character. I couldnโt stand how much he was put on a pedestal at the expense of every cat around him. I wish he and Dovewing just stayed in that Twolegplace forever.

Definitely one of my least favorite books in the whole series! I never cared much for Dovewing x Tiger before, so this book didn't really help. The thing that annoyed me the most was how Tigerheart was essentially presented as this savior, to the point where he had even been resurrected, apparently. The only things I liked about it were the new characters and the missing ShadowClan cats (including Berryheart's comic), but even the Guardians are undercut since they're yet another group who have to adhere to Clan ways if they want to survive.

Personally, I quite enjoyed it, I enjoyed the setting of the city, I enjoyed the characters we meet, especially the Guardian cats. I wasn't very much of a fan of Tigerstar as a character since he handled the Dovewing leaving to the city situation kinda poorly and was pushing Clan ways to the Guardians but it was bearable. I was not a fan of how he was forgiven easily and how he was revived after dying but oh well.

When this book came out it was really overhated by the fandom. I thought it was the epitome of mediocre, tbh. Not horrible but not great.

It was solidly mid. I donโt think it deserves the hate it gets but itโs not that great. In all honesty, the story would have worked better as a novella.

Not the best, not the worst. Didn't help that I don't like Tigerheart and Dovewing.

Started reading it recently (around that part where he meets Fuzzball). I was never a big fan of Tigerheart, but he's been fun to read about, especially that this book doesn't feel like a chore to read. The travellings (so far) has been kept short and well described, so it's not overwhelming or boring. But it also does get some extra points, because I adore Fuzzball.

how original, an SE about a journey /sarc tbh i didn't love it. i dont like tigerheart or dovewing, and the journey was so. ridiculously. long. it was just filler, and written really inconsistent too.

as a fan of dovewing, this book js made me hate tigerheart. he was so willing to give up everything- his family and the kits he had with her for his clan. which is so ironic bc all of the other books with dovewing makes it seem like heโs willing to leave the clans for her. idk, i just didnโt like him in it and his arc after. heโs a mediocre leader who rules with heart rather than his head and all of tigerheartโs shadow made me WISH dovewing never came back with him.

It did feel like he'd leave his clan for her in the beginning of their relationship, but in this book he has a lot put on him, he's really torn between two things that's hard to choose between. Though I am still standing by the fact that his thought process was gross in the first chapter or so, and I'm not going to try to defend that, because it still pisses me off, his point of view is quite understandable. I feel really bad for Dovewing and wish she didn't have to go through all this alone (especially while expecting).

I read this book 2-3 years ago, but remember that I wasn't pleased with out the book went. I did like the Guardian Cats tho, I think Daisy was in it too.

Had some good, had some bad. I stand by this being the absolute worst Dovewing has ever been, though. "I had a couple of bad dreams so I'm running off into the Great Unknownโข while pregnant without telling anybody besides my secret boyfriend" is actually unhinged.

I actually agree with the criticisms above, but overall I liked the book. I found the setting interesting, liked the guardian cats, the side characters, and Tigerheart coming into his own as a leader while bringing back his patrol to ShadowClan. Showing the interpersonal relationships between all of them was well done, and made me like Tigerheart more. Though I was really irritated with Dovewing this book and them propping up TigerDove and Tigerstar II as the best thing to ever exist.
tl;dr Interesting in concept, mediocre in execution imo

It was okay I guess, the point was- Tigerheart was dead and It probably took one hour to travel to the moonstone and resurrect, probably my most favourite character was Spiresight, I love crazy cats that wander off in the middle of the night to find whatever that is I forgot.

The concept (Guardian cats) was neat but not the SE character (Tigerheart) or the main ship (TigerDove). That just ruined it for me.

The first third was good and I loved the Guardian Cats all the way through, but overall a bad book and just reinforced my hatred of Tigerheart.
