Pick a cat, any cat that has died. Now...undeadify them! How will the rest of their life play out? How long do they live? What impact do they have on the plot? The world is your oyster! I'll go first. I've been on a DOTC kick lately so I pick....Bright Stream! And kits This could fundamentally change DOTC. Her death is often seen as the catalyst for Clear Sky's paranoia and subsequent aggression. But Fluttering Bird still dies in this timeline, so we still have the inciting incident for evil Clear Sky.
So the hawk misses...now what? The group continues on towards the forest. Shaded Moss dies as written. She is very pregnant by the time they reach the moor. She kits within days of them arriving. Same names as on the tree- Tiger Tail and Pale Sky. Tiger Tail is a tom while Pale Sky is a she-kit.
When Clear Sky and co decide to move to the forest, she protests as the kits are too young. She stays with Tall Shadow's camp, though she promises to join him once the kits are big enough.
When Jagged Peak is injured and kicked out, she is horrified and goes to speak with Clear Sky. It is there she realizes Clear Sky has fallen for Storm, and breaks things off with him.
Speaking of Storm, everything plays out as written. When Thunder is rescued and brought to the moor, Hawk Swoop is the one who nurses him as Bright Stream's milk has dried up by this point. While she is uncomfortable with having Clear Sky's kit by another she-cat living with them, she understands that it isn't Thunder's fault and is kind to him.
From here on, Bright Stream becomes a background character while Tiger Tail and Pale Sky become important figures in Thunder's life. They take their little bro under their wing once he is old enough to start training. When Thunder decides to join Clear Sky's group, they try to talk him out of it, but are unsuccessful. They have completely written their father off by this point and stay on the moor when Thunder leaves.
During the Great Battle, Bright Stream is killed in place of Rainswept Flower. Clear Sky is her killer. Caught up in the heat of the battle, he attacks her but stops when he realizes who she is. But it is already too late, as he slashed her throat open. Tiger Tail and Pale Sky survive the battle, and choose to go with River Ripple as they cannot face going home without their mother.
From here Bright Stream appears sporadically as a spirit, and her kits continue to be supporting characters in Thunder's life. They go on to be members of RiverClan. Clear Sky doesn't think of them as his kits as they continuously reject him unlike Thunder's lukewarm relationship. Eventually one or both of them take mates and have kits of their own. These kits become close to Thunder's kits.

Ooh I have a great idea for this one…Here’s my story about Mosskit, or should I say, Mosspatch! What if Bluestar hadn’t given up her kits to become deputy? I know it’s a rather common question in the fandom but the implications and parallels are really interesting.I like to imagine that Bluefur’s kits survived past the harsh leaf-bare, including Mosskit. Every cat in the clan still believes Thrushpelt is the kit’s father. Unfortunately, Thistleclaw is laying in wait as Sunstar’s next deputy, and eventually becomes leader at the start of the new season. He inevitably becomes leader and makes Tigerclaw his deputy. During this time, Bluefur schemes to plot against Thistlestar, attempting to kill him in his own den (sound familiar?) and Tigerclaw intervenes. Thistlestar instantly exiles Bluefur and her three kits out of ThunderClan.
Bluefur tells Mistykit, Stonekit, and Mosskit about their father much too quickly and go to RiverClan.Bluefur tells Mistykit, Stonekit, and Mosskit about their father much too quickly and go to RiverClan. Crookedstar, the leader at the time, welcomes the family with open arms since he’s the kits’ uncle. Mapleshade is enraged by this act; why should an exiled queen with half-clan kits be welcomed into RiverClan and not her?! She stops haunting Crookedstar and instead sets her sights for the power-hungry duo: Thistlestar and Tigerclaw.
Back to Mosskit now, she has gained an increased fascination in herbs thanks to RiverClan’s caring medicine cat, Brambleberry, treating her while in the nursery. Once she reaches six moons, Mosspaw becomes Brambleberry’s medicine cat apprentice. At the half-moon meetings, Mosspaw makes good friends with Spottedleaf, and the ThunderClan medicine cat is pleased that she has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Additionally, Spottedleaf begins to open up to the new apprentice on the turmoil Mosspaw’s homeclan is facing. This causes the young apprentice to seek anything she can to help ThunderClan with their herb supply, and even asks Brambleberry to aid her, but her mentor respectfully declines as Thistlestar would surely have both of their pelts if he gets word of their unwanted assistance.
The leader-and-deputy pair team up with Brokenstar and keep a mutual respect with each other and their respective clans in hopes to take over the other two. Brokenstar drives out WindClan, and thanks to their training with Mapleshade and knowing Crookedstar’s weaknesses can Thistlestar and Tigerclaw flush out RiverClan. More coming soon!… maybe?

Picked my favorite fishy evil boy Hawkfrost <3 Hawkfrost doesn't get killed by Brambleclaw AU (includes him becoming Hawkstar) TNP: The Foxtrap situation and Aftermath- Hawkfrost decides to listen to Brambleclaw after his brother goes to free Firestar. Instead of attacking him when Bramble tells him to go back to RiverClan because he doesn't want to hurt him, Hawkfrost gives a typical threat to him like "This isn't over, you'll regret this, brother!" and flees the scene to go back home.
- Hawkfrost chooses to lie to Leopardstar about Firestar having been trapped in a foxtrap but him saving the leader from it instead of his intial plan of keeping quiet because he was sure that Firestar would try to expose him for what he did, either at the next gathering or sooner. So he decides to let her know his false version of the story first, just in case.
- Sure enough, a day later, Firestar comes to RiverClan, together with Brambleclaw (who is still his deputy), Squirrelflight and Leafpool. They tell Leopardstar about what Hawkfrost tried to do with the foxtrap but she obviously doesn't believe them due to Hawkfrost having already told her "the truth" and also her previous bias displayed in his favor when it came to the situation regarding Stormfur and Brook (where Hawkfrost also manipulated the situation in his favor by goading Stormfur into attacking him and barely fighting back on purpose).
Leopardstar also finds it suspicious that Firestar only took members of his family with him to accuse her best warrior of attempted murder. Brambleclaw tries to say something, but Hawkfrost interrupts him and repeats his story of having found and saved Firestar from being killed in the foxtrap. Firestar (with a weak and raspy voice due to his throat injury) insists his story to be false and asks Brambleclaw to tell Leopardstar what really happened since he witnessed it. Brambleclaw does as he is told but Leopardstar still does not believe him and also starts scolding Brambleclaw for lying to make his own brother look bad when he's such a loyal warrior of RiverClan who would never act in such dishonor.
- Leafpool meanwhile sneaks off to talk with Mothwing and tries to convince her to expose her brother about him faking the moth wing sign Mudfur got and also the fake pebble sign about Stormfur and Brook that he forced her to tell at the gathering. But Mothwing is too terrified of what will happen to her once she admits that the sign which let her be made a medicine cat was fake all along. She feels sorry for what happened with Stormfur and Brook because of her false vision and also for Hawkfrost almost killing Leafpool's father but still wants to protect herself and also doesn't want to loose her brother to exile or worse, despite him making her lie about the sign. This leads to a rift in their friendship with Leafpool being very disappointed in Mothwing and storming off back to her father's side. She catches Hawkfrost's eye and he leers triumphantly at her.
Firestar eventually gives up on trying to convince Leopardstar about the truth but Squirrelflight insists further on it and he lets her do some more talking while Leafpool checks up on him about his injury.
While Leafpool was talking to Mothwing, Hawkfrost had taken Brambleclaw aside and threatened him by not only telling him just how enraged Tigerstar was about Bramble's loyalty to Firestar but also reveals that a cat from ThunderClan had conspired with Hawkfrost to kill Firestar. Brambleclaw doesn't fully believe him, but he still becomes paranoid about the identity of that cat nonetheless from that point on. He demands for Hawkfrost to tell him who the cat is but Hawkfrost just mocks him for being a "weak kittypet-loving fool" who let his loyalty to his leader ruin his chances at getting that position sooner. He vows to not make that same mistake as him and purrs to Brambleclaw to "Just watch me, brother!"
- Brambleclaw leaves the RiverClan camp with Firestar, Squirrelflight and Leafpool shortly afterwards.
- That same day, Hawkfrost meets up with the ThunderClan cat who conspired with him, Ashfur. Ashfur is disappointed and frustrated that the plan to kill Firestar failed. He also hates that Brambleclaw is still Firestar's deputy and Squirrelflight's mate. Hawkfrost assures him that they'll come up with a new plan to take down Firestar and Brambleclaw as well. Ashfur perks up at that and states that he hopes once everything is done, that Squirrelflight will become his mate instead. Hawkfrost is very much aware that Ashfur is not fully sane. He privately thinks it ludicrous of him to want to punish Squirrelflight for becoming mates with Brambleclaw by killing her father but then to still want to be mates with her afterwards. But he doesn't say it out loud. Instead, he further promises Ashfur that Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw will be rightly punished for how they treated him. PoT Part I: Mistyfoot and Deputyship- Hawkfrost continues to train with Tigerstar in the Dark Forest and is also is secretly planning to get rid of Mistyfoot so that he can become deputy instead. He also got chosen by Leopardstar to mentor Minnowpaw (sorry to her canon mentor Voletooth) thus making him qualify for the deputy position which greatly pleases both him and his father.
- Hawkfrost is surprised to learn that Brambleclaw has become a father to three kits and questions in private if Squirrelflight really is the mother since she did not show signs of expecting kits during the few times he saw her at gatherings previously (I always thought it was strange how no one in ThunderClan or outside of it noticed Leafpool getting rounder aside from thinking she ate more than usual). Tigerstar tells him that Leafpool is the real biological mother and Cowfeather the actual bio dad. Hawkfrost contemplates telling Brambleclaw the truth but then decides against it to use that info later on, either as blackmail or something else.
Brambleclaw reluctantly introduces Hollypaw, Lionpaw and Jaypaw to his brother at a Gathering. They are excited to meet their (half-) uncle and Hawkfrost decides to establish a good family connection with them to potentially use the Three later on in his plans against their parents.
- When RiverClan needs to temporarily stay on the Gathering Island due to the twolegs messing around in their territory, Hawkfrost is especially defensive towards the other Clans and protective over the safety of his Clan. Upon Hollypaw visiting Willowpaw because she was worried about her and RiverClan, Hawkfrost presents himself as understanding of her concern but also reminds her of the warrior code. While Squirrelflight is in the new camp to bring Hollypaw home, he pretends to be polite but also subtly insults. Perhaps with something along the lines of "You really ought to teach her the code better." He also asks her to tell Brambleclaw he said hi to which Squirrelflight reluctantly agrees to in front of Leopardstar but then throws him a dirtly look behind her back before stalking off with Hollypaw who purrs an embarassed goodbye at him.
- Tigerstar begins to train Lionpaw in the Dark Forest leading to him and Hawkfrost growing a close bond since he kinda becomes his second mentor (or rather third, after Ashfur).
As for getting rid of Mistyfoot, Tigerstar suggests either going the more indirect route and using dogs or directly killing her either by outright attacking her or throwing her down the ravine on RiverClan territory (yes, I'm literally just using recent RiverClan deaths from the newest arc, those of Curlfeather and Reedwhisker to be more precise lol). Hawkfrost decides to go for the more indirect way so that it will not be as suspicious and potentially as easy to trace back to him. 'Accidents happen', is basically what he thinks here.
He finds out about a few dogs who live with their twolegs in the Greenleaf Twolegplace and decides to use them to get Mistyfoot killed. The next time he goes on border patrol with Mistyfoot and Minnowpaw he suggests checking on the ShadowClan border and his deputy agrees. While on their way, they pass the Greenleaf Twolegplace and Hawkfrost sees that the twolegs are getting ready to go on a walk with the dogs. He suggests to Minnowpaw that it would be a good idea to hunt a bit of prey while the dogs are gone to which she happily agrees. Mistyfoot is a bit weary of this but still allows it and just tells her to beware of the dogs.
Her and Hawkfrost mark the border and she goes off to look for Minnowpaw on their way back while ordering him to hunt (she also tells him to be careful). Hawkfrost catches a squirrel and rips it open to use the blood as a trail. He grabs it in his jaws and goes to locate the dogs who are near the lake and then scent the blood as well as sense him. He then runs off to find Mistyfoot and Minnowpaw and drops the squirrel on purpose so that neither cat sees what he did to it. Fully aware that the dogs are not far behind, he soon finds the two she-cats and tells them to run. Sure enough, the dogs start barking and growling before rushing out of the bushes towards them.
Hawkfrost sees a tree nearby and leaps on it before turning around to help Minnowpaw up. Disappointed, he realizes that Mistyfoot also had enough time to climb the tree. His father's spirit hisses into his ear that he should push her down so he pretends to slip and slams against her. Mistyfoot looses her balance and falls out of the tree with a shocked screech. She lands hard on the ground and is to stunned from the impact to run from the dogs. Hawkfrost pretends to panic and yowls for her to climb up again, reaching out a paw for her.
Mistyfoot turns towards him but the dogs have now reached her and promptly start mauling her. Minnowpaw cries out for her and Hawkfrost curls his tail around her body in a comforting gesture. She buries her face in his chest and trembles until the sounds of Mistyfoot's pained screams and the growls of the dogs have stopped. A twoleg comes running out of the bushes, its face red with fury and angrily yelling at the dogs before hauling one of them away by the collar. Another one follows and lets out a short whistle sound which prompts the other dogs to run towards it. That twoleg spots Mistyfoot's mauled corpse and also lets out a bunch of angry sounds before leaving.
Once the twolegs and dogs are gone, Hawkfrost jumps out of the tree and goes over to Mistyfoot's motionless body. Her eyes are clouded over with the mist of death. He drops his head in a gesture of grief and picks her lifeless form up to carry home. He gently orders Minnowpaw to go on ahead and alert the camp to what happened.
While walking alone, he feels the spirit of his father at his side and hears his pleased purr. "Well done, my son. Now you are one step closer to gaining power."
At camp, everyone is shocked and dismayed at what happened. Leopardstar is devastated and Hawkfrost sees Mistyfoot's only surviving kit Reedwhisker getting comforted by her mate Blackclaw.
- At moonhigh that night, Leopardstar chooses Hawkfrost as the new deputy of RiverClan and he gives a short speech about wanting to make Mistyfoot proud as her successor and him wanting to serve RiverClan and Leopardstar as a loyal deputy.
Mothwing pulls him aside later on that night and asks him if what happened to Mistyfoot really was just an accident, which he assures her of. He happily bumps his head against hers and remarks that their positions of power in the Clan is all he ever wanted to ensure their place among Clan society. She briefly hesitates but then answers his purr with her own before meowing that Mistyfoot will be missed which he agrees to with a solemn nod.
- This means that Mistyfoot died in early Eclipse since that is the only PoT book which has at least the first half of it taking place in Greenleaf according to the wiki event timeline of Year 6. Meaning that she thus died before the eclipse battle. PoT Part II: Ashfur and the Three- Leopardstar gets visited by Onestar who convinces her to attack ThunderClan with him to teach them a lesson about their meddling and arrogance when it concerns helping the other Clans. Leopardstar agrees and Onestar nods his head at Hawkfrost wheb she tells him that he's her new deputy after the "accidental" death of Mistyfoot. Onestar meows that he remembers Hawkfrost conspiring with Mudclaw against him to gain power and hopes he's truly learned his lesson since then to which Hawkfrost bows his head to him and says he apologises again just like he did already right after Mudclaw died.
- During the eclipse battle, Hawkfrost fights against Squirrelflight and is here the one to give her the severe belly injury.
- At the next Gathering, he sits down next to Brambleclaw and the other deputies before getting formally announced as the new deputy of RiverClan by Leopardstar. He is intrigued to hear about Blackstar rejecting StarClan because of Sol. He notices Firestar staring at him afterwards and returns the stare with his own to which Firestar narrows his eyes and stalks off.
- While in a training session with Tigerstar and Lionblaze, whom he congratulates on having become a warrior, Lionblaze tells them about Sol and what he knows about the prophecy of the Three, the former of which he did a few times already at that point, just like in canon. After Lionblaze wakes up early, Hawkfrost discusses things with his father one on one. He noticed that Lionblaze seems to hold the prophecy in high regard and considers himself special because of that and for being related to "the great Firestar". He asks Tigerstar what should be done about this and his father tells him to either use Sol or Ashfur to finally let the Three know the truth about their parentage and humiliate Firestar's family in the process. Hawkfrost asks him what to do about Brambleclaw and Tigerstar shrugs and just says "He chose them over us, him (referring to Firestar) over me, over his real family. This will be his punishment for doing just that."
- He hears about Blackstar and ShadowClan having found back to their belief in StarClan and is not surprised to hear that Lionblaze and his littermates helped them (which Tigerstar tells him annoyed first and then Lionblaze tells him again proudly during a nightly training session later on).
- Hawkfrost also hears about the Greencough outbreak in ThunderClan and that Firestar lost a life. He knows Tigerstar is pleased about this news.
- He decides to met up with Ashfur and not pay mind to Sol for now. Ashfur congratulates him on becoming deputy but asks why he hasn't helped him make plans for punishing Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight ever since their last talk. Hawkfrost notices that Ashfur looks rough, his fur dishevelled and overall appearance unkept. He promises Ashfur that the wait is finally over and the time has now come to punish not only Squirrelflight but her entire family as well.
Ashfur gets a manic glint in his eyes and eagerly listens to what Hawkfrost tells him to do. Which is to lay a fire in ThunderClan during the next storm. Ashfur is confused on how he's supposed to accomplish that and Hawkfrost assures him that things will work out in his favor. He doesn't reveal that Tigerstar told him a storm was approaching and would be the perfect opportunity for a fire. Instead he tells Ashfur to trust him and that he'll finally be able to tell Squirrelflight about all of the pain she's caused him and punish her.
Quick sidenote: I know the fire in ThunderClan during LS was an accident but still really like the MAPs/PMVs I've seen of Ashfur actively causing the fire, usually depicted with a stick of wood that is on fire at the tip in his mouth. Now, as to how he got that stick of wood to be on fire, I'm not entirely sure. Either he stole the stick from a twoleg campfire or waited for lightning to strike a tree lol. But either way, one of those things happened here, I guess.
- After the fire, Ashfur comes to him, excitedly telling him about how good things went, mainly that he managed to trap Squirrelflight and her kits in the fire and she told him they weren't even hers.
Hawkfrost is privately very disappointed that no one died in the fire.
Ashfur wonders who the real parents are and Hawkfrost decides to tell him that they are Leafpool and Crowfeather (as a reward/treat lol). Ashfur asks him how he knows and Hawkfrost told him it was rather obvious considering that Leafpool did have a brief romance with Crowfeather and looked like she was expecting kits later on while Squirrelflight didn't. He again doesn't tell him who gave him the information since Tigerstar told him he killed Ashfur's mother Brindleface and it would thus not work out well. Ashfur admits that the Three and Squirrelflight as well as Leafpool have tried to convince/threaten him to not reveal the truth but he is determined to.
Hawkfrost asks him about what each of them said and is intrigued by Hollyleaf's response since she just flat out told him it's his business if he wants to destroy his own Clan without her trying to persuade him not to spill the secret. Ashfur goes on a tirade about him going to enjoy ruining Brambleclaw's perfect little family and getting Squirrelflight for himself and Hawkfrost remembers why he didn't contact Ashfur in a while. He's tired of the other tom's Squirrelflight obsession.
- That night, Hawkfrost meets up with his father for a talk and Tigerstar orders him to get rid of Ashfur. He thinks that the tom is too unstable to continue working with any longer and that another cat will also be able to help them expose the truth about Firestar's grandkits. Hawkfrost asks him if he means Hollyleaf and Tigerstar confirms this by revealing that she's apparently not even a part of the prophecy her brother Lionblaze keeps on meowing their ears off about. He thinks she'll be a good replacement due to her obsession with the warrior code and now her insecurity regarding her parentage and lack of actual prophecy importance.
The next day, Hawkfrost seeks his niece out by sneaking onto ThunderClan territory and can immediately tell that she's very much on edge and was deeply affected by the reveal despite it not even being the full one yet, at least to his knowlege. She's also not happy that he's breaking the warrior code by trespassing but he distracts her by saying he wanted to see how she's been doing since the fire. Hollyleaf becomes agitated and just tells him someone is out to ruin her life.
Hawkfrost can tell that she's not going to disclose what he already knows anyway but still decides to "help her". He tells her that she should not tolerate anyone wanting to harm her or her family and asks her what she intends to do about this cat. Hollyleaf hesiates and admits she wants "him to just disappear". Hawkfrost nods wisely and encourages her to do everything in her power to keep the secret safe. Hollyleaf contemplates this and then seems to have come to a decision. She thanks her uncle for his advice and also for not pressuring her to tell him every detail before nodding a farewell and padding away to go back home.
- At the next Gathering, ThunderClan doesn't show up and Hawkfrost knows that something must've happened. Tigerstar confirms in his dreams that night that Hollyleaf killed Ashfur. They are both very pleased about this matter going according to plan.
- Hawkfrost notices that Lionblaze has stopped coming to the training sessions with him and Tigerstar. His father coldly states that he has chosen to no longer associate with them since he now knows that he's not related to them and that he told Lionblaze to have known all along. He also hisses that Lionblaze really does think himself to be better than them due to the prophecy making him oh so special. He also insults Lionblaze based on his parentage by calling him a filfthy-blooded half-Clan cat who was never trustworthy anyway based on his real parentage. Hawkfrost privately feels a tad uncomfortable at this and asks himself if his father fully trusts and values him despite having a rogue for a mother or if he needs to constantly prove his worth to him so he can overlook his non-Clanborn origins like his RiverClan Clanmates eventually did.
- Hawkfrost is intrigued when he hears that ThunderClan has searched for and found Sol and is keeping him in their camp as a prisoner due to suspecting him of being Ashfur's killer. After Lionblaze let him escape and he spoke to Hollyleaf, Hawkfrost sees Sol from a distance when he's quickly passing through WindClan territory to escape the Cla territories. He still chooses not to interact with him.
- At the next Gathering, Hawkfrost notices that Hollyleaf looks on edge. He instantly knows that it's time for Brambleclaw's life to be ruined and expectantly looks at his brother's chosen family. When Hollyleaf reveals the truth, Hawkfrost pretends to be shocked like everyone else but it secretly very satisfied with the outcome and the fact that he didn't even have to do much to have it happen. He feels eyes on him and spots Jayfeather staring at him from the medicine cat spot. His sightless gaze creeps Hawkfrost out and he wonders if his not-nephew is somehow able to read minds. He hopes not.
- Hawkfrost follows Brambleclaw when his brother runs off after his public break-up with Squirrelflight. He sees him stop at the lake and walk into the water before crouching down to let it wash over him. Hawkfrost slowly wades in and hauls him out of the water by his scruff. Brambleclaw splutters and swipes at him, telling him to go away and leave him be. Hawkfrost sneers that Brambleclaw shouldn't waste his life over being lied to by his former mate's family. Brambleclaw scoffs and states that he certainly wasn't trying to drown himself but rather just calm down after being angry over what had just been revealed about "my kits". He chokes those last two words out and turns his head away, his chest rising and falling with heavy breathing.
Brambleclaw sharply turns towards Hawkfrost when he suggests using his anger for something useful. He asks him what that means and his brother smoothly replies that they should both use their positions of power as deputies of their Clans to ensure the strength of both RiverClan and ThunderClan over the others. Brambleclaw just blinks at him in confusion. Hawkfrost then suggests that Brambleclaw should take up training with their father again. His brother furiously spits that he will never trust Tigerstar again. "Or you!" he hisses before rushing out of the water and past Hawkfrost to pad back home without looking back. Hawkfrost lets him go and watches his form eventually get swallowed by the darkness of the trees inside his territory.
He hears the whisper of his father's deep voice beside him and sees his amber eyes, so like Brambleclaw's own, glinting at him from the shadows of the night. "No matter," he growls "He'll change his mind soon enough." OotS Part I: Fatherhood and Leadership- In the six moon gap between PoT and OotS, Hawkfrost has become mates and had kits with Dapplenose. Yes, that's the cat whom he killed during the Great Battle in canon. She was also Mistyfoot's apprentice and became a warrior in Outcast only to already retire one arc later in The Fourth Apprentice for some reason during canon.
Hawkfrost was told to look for a mate and have kits by his father to ensure his family line in RiverClan. He doesn't have particularly strong feelings for Dapplenose but does tolerate her (yay).
Their kits names are Mistykit (Dapplenose insisted) who is a mottled gray she-cat like her mother but with her father's ice-blue gaze, Tadpolekit (Hawkfrost insisted) who is a mottled black tom with his grandfather's amber glare, and Lakekit who is a gray tabby she-cat with her mother's soft blue eyes (and indeed will go on to be the canon Lakeheart because sis still has no canon parents and this is an AU anyway).
I initially didn't want to include a canon cat for the HawkDapple kits but then saw that Lakeheart is the mother of Dappletuft and Gorseclaw so...it felt fitting because of the names, even just in this AU context. As a reminder, Gorseclaw is also the name of one of Tigerstar's SkyClan ancestors who stayed in ThunderClan with his mother and sister while his father Cloudstar left to go with SkyClan into exile.
- The warrior names for Mistykit and Tadpolekit will be Mistywater and Tadpolesplash, by the way.
- Hawkfrost's apprentice Minnowtail has become a warrior and is also in a forbidden cross-Clan relationship with Mousewhisker because this is my AU and I say so (although Hawkfrost doesn't know about it yet).
- The HawkDapple kits are approximately 2 moons old at the start of OotS and were born in late Newleaf. They will be made apprentices in Leaf-fall during Fading Echoes. I'm going off of the event timeline on the wiki and hope the math checks out so that they are indeed six moons old by that point (but I could be wrong because I'm bad at math and also at estimating the ages of fictional battle cats).
- During the drought, Hawkfrost is very protective over RiverClan and speaks out in his Clans' defense at Gatherings.
- He also now often trains with Breezepelt in the Dark Forest and knows about his father's plans about eventually using living Clan cats to take his revenge on the Clans (but mainly Firestar).
- After Leopardstar has lost her final life, Hawkfrost takes Willowshine with him to the Moonpool. Mothwing looks hurt at not being there to see her brother become leader, even just by being with him at the Moonpool when it happens without actually seeing it, but she then just nods in resignation.
At the Moonpool, Hawkfrost wakes up in the old RiverClan camp. He looks around and sees countless StarClan spirits staring at him from the dens and bushes. The spirits step forward like a wave and speak as one, greeting him coldly and then asking him if he's ready to become leader of RiverClan. He confidently confirms it to be so and the spirits take a step before announcing for his leadership ceremony to begin.
Will write more tomorrow!

Hollyleaf manages to save Ivypool from Hawkfrost without being mortally wounded. She reconciles with Leafpool as before. After the Great Battle, she advocates for the Dark Forest trainees, pointing out that every cat deserves a second chance. But after the trainees are pardoned, she and Breezepelt confront each other, with Hollyleaf calling out his devotion to the Dark Forest and Breezepelt blaming her for revealing her heritage to the Clans and running away to escape the consequences. Gradually, they realize that they both allowed themselves to commit unspeakable acts out of rage, hatred, and familial loathing. Breezepelt begins to question his loyalty and values, and he starts to realize that he genuinely cares for WindClan, leading into Crowfeather’s Trial. Hollyleaf reconciles with Crowfeather at the same time as Breezepelt, and the half-siblings develop a grudging respect for each other.
During Bramblestar’s Storm, Hollyleaf truly reconciles with her adopted parents. Squirrelflight begins to depend on her advice and friendship, and Bramblestar talks with her truthfully about Ashfur’s death. Hollyleaf mentors her niece Hazeltuft (Hollytuft’s new name, since her previous namesake didn’t perish in this AU.)
AVoS plays out much the same, apart from Hollyleaf interacting with her cousin Alderpaw from time to time. She observes how ShadowClan falls apart once again due to a breakdown in the Warrior Code, and from the interference of a charismatic rogue. Like Lionblaze, she is critical of Dovewing’s choice to leave ThunderClan. On the other paw, she speaks out for SkyClan’s right to live beside the lake.
In Squirrelflight’s Hope, Hollyleaf helps Bramblestar and Squirrelflight navigate the political gymnastics of aiding the Sisters. She continues to grapple with the Warrior Code, especially when it comes to balancing compassion and prudence. Squirrelflight and Leafpool still end up hovering between life and death. Leafpool ultimately passes away, and Hollyleaf grieves alongside Jayfeather and Lionblaze. Squirrelflight confides in Hollyleaf about her trial, and the once-forgotten warrior starts to feel her beliefs on the heart and letter of the Warrior Code shifting.
The Broken Code is where Hollyleaf really changes up canon. She notices right away that something is off with Bramblestar in The Silent Thaw. His campaign against code-breakers brings her face-to-face with her own ideals and beliefs, and she is named by Shadowsight as one of the guilty who must atone. Bramblestar is particularly cruel towards Hollyleaf, and she realizes he is Ashfur long before any other cat does. Recognizing this, Brashstar reveals to the Clan that Hollyleaf murdered Ashfur in cold blood, claiming that he lied to cover for his daughter. Now that StarClan is “giving vent to their fury,” he can no longer hide the truth. He banishes Hollyleaf for a whole season, prompting objections from Squirrelflight and his Clanmates. Brashstar hunts Hollyleaf down to kill her in kind, but she manages to escape and take shelter in ShadowClan.
She reveals Bramblestar’s true identity as Ashfur, and she helps Squirrelflight better organize and lead the rebellion against him. Consequently, the patrol of impatient rebels never sets off in secret to murder Brashstar, and Stemleaf, Dappletuft, and Conefoot all survive. With Hollyleaf’s help, Squirrelflight, Rootspring, Bristlefrost and Shadowsight manage to convince the Clans that Bramblestar is an imposter. He is imprisoned as usual, and Squirrelflight names Hollyleaf her temporary deputy. She reasons with Thornclaw, and the cats who normally leave ThunderClan to wander don’t. Graystripe still feels a calling to Highstones though, and Squirrelflight allows him to take a patrol to investigate. Hollyleaf advises Squirrelflight concerning Brashstar, convincing her to balance her hope for Bramblestar’s return with the reality of the threat his imposter poses. Lionblaze wants to kill Brashstar, but Hollyleaf intercepts him, telling him not to murder out of rage the way she did. She defends Shadowsight, reminding her brother and the other Clans that Ashfur managed to trick and manipulate StarClan themselves.
Ashfur escapes as before, dragging Squirrelflight into the Moonpool. Hollyleaf takes up leadership in her absence, and when Graystripe returns, she asks him to serve as her temporary deputy to help unify the Clan until Squirrelflight is saved. Hollyleaf volunteers in Graystripe’s place as a Light in the Mist, and she passes on Squirrelflight’s message before a final confrontation with Ashfur. He accuses her of murdering him, and she admits to the act. But she also holds him accountable for all the evil he has done, including his attempt at murdering her and her brothers in Long Shadows. She points out that Ashfur was given a second chance the same way she was by being allowed into StarClan. Yet he chose to hang on to his bitterness and entitlement, rejecting that mercy in favor of vengeance and reclaiming the cat he thinks he “deserves to possess.” She admits that every cat falls short of the Warrior Code, but what truly matters is the sentiment behind their laws— loyalty and devotion to one another, and the kind of love and wisdom it takes to protect your Clanmates, even at the cost of your life. She glances at Rootspring and Bristlefrost, acknowledging how they care for both their Clans and one another. She thinks of Leafpool and Crowfeather and, for the first time, fully forgives them for lying to her and her siblings. She and Ashfur launch themselves at one another, and Ashfur lands the same killing blow she used to take his life, all those moons ago.
From StarClan, Hollyleaf speaks with the living cats who wish to change the Warrior Code. She and the other StarClan cats agree to their ideas, but she adds the provision that the changes they have enacted must never be taken lightly, and must hold true to the deepest values of the Clans.

Flickerkit lives Flickerkit is kind and caring, like Larksong.
When the imposter rises Flickerpaw stands by Flamepaw, because they were closer together, and when Finchpaw leaves Flickerpaw stays with Flamepaw.
He is a background character like Flamepaw until River, where he, Finchpaw, and Flamepaw do their assessments. As normal Flamepaw fails, and Flickerpaw earns his warrior name with Finchpaw, becoming Flickersong (after Larksong) and Finchlight. Flickersong defends Nightheart's decision to become Nightheart instead of Flameheart, yowling that it was unfair to compare him to a amazing leader like Firestar as a young warrior.
He supports Nightheart, and instead of Nightheart going to Sparkpelt and Finchlight to eat in Sky, he goes to Flickersong and gets comfort. When Nightheart argues with Squirrelflight, Sparkpelt, and Finchlight at the end of Sky, Flickersong follows him into the forest until he realizes that he was heading to ShadowClan, to go be with Sunbeam.
Flickersong stops following his brother and goes back to ThunderClan. In Shadow when Nightheart goes to the Gathering, Flickersong greets him warmly, and throughout Shadow when Nightheart interacts with ThunderClan, Flickersong is a warm support.
THUNDER SPOILERS INCOMING
Flickersong is pleased when Nightheart and Sunbeam join ThunderClan, quietly teaching Sunbeam the ways of ThunderClan. Flickersong is happy about his brother going to the Moonpool. He's distressed about Nightheart leaving but comforts and finds comfort in Sunbeam. He sort of fades away into a background character a little without Nightheart.

A long time ago, I thought of an idea where Shrewpaw lives.
In Dawn, Shrewpaw still chases the pheasant out onto the Thunderpath and gets hit by a monster. However, in this AU, he doesn't die. He is merely crippled, much like how Cinderpelt was. While many members of ThunderClan believe Shrewpaw will die, Dustpelt and Ferncloud hold onto hope (especially after already losing Hollykit and Larchkit). The Clans must still undergo the Great Journey, though Firestar is reluctant to leave Shrewpaw without the care of a medicine cat. Shrewpaw, being fully conscious but in a lot of pain, tells Firestar that he'll be alright. He decides to stay behind with Frostfur and Speckletail. Cinderpelt gives the two elderly she-cats basic instructions on how to help Shrewpaw, then the Clans leave on the Great Journey.
For the next couple of moons, Frostfur, Speckletail, and the other couple Clan elders that stayed behind (I can't remember exactly who they were) do their best to help Shrewpaw through his recovery. Two moons after the Clans leave, Frostfur ends up starving to death. While Shrewpaw, Speckletail, and the others grieve, Speckletail decides that the best thing she can do for Shrewpaw is to bring him to Ravenpaw and Barley. She brings him there, and Ravenpaw and Barley happily take in the crippled young tom. Soon thereafter, Speckletail dies, knowing that she did all she could.
Several moons later, Shrewpaw has mostly recovered from his injuries. His left hind leg will always be limp, but he knows he can live with that, just like Cinderpelt has. Graystripe and Millie arrive at Barley's barn, and Ravenpaw and Barley tell the two of them the direction the Clans travelled in. Shrewpaw asks to accompany them, and Graystripe and Millie happily accept.
During the events of The Sight, Shrewpaw returns to the Clans during a Gathering alongside Graystripe and Millie. He happily reunites with Squirrelpaw-- now Squirrelflight-- and tells her of his journey. Shrewpaw returns to ThunderClan after the Gathering and Firestar grants him his warrior name- Shrewheart. He honors Shrewheart's spirit and determination and welcomes him as a full warrior of ThunderClan.
Following this, Shrewheart becomes kind of a background character, as the POVs have switched from Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw to Lionpaw, Jaypaw, and Hollypaw. Still, Shrewheart is able to bond with Hollypaw, as she is the one most interested in hearing about his journey home.
Throughout the POT series, Shrewheart is shown growing closer to Hazeltail. While my headcanon for TNP is that Shrewheart had a crush on Squirrelflight, it was never reciprocated and Shrewheart would be able to get over it. He moves on, and Hazeltail is a great cat that never got to have a mate or kits in the series. Around the events of Fading Echoes, Hazeltail moves into the nursery and has Shrewheart's kits, a tom and a she-cat. They name them Smokekit (after Smoky) and Larchkit (obviously, after Larchkit). Shrewheart is shown in the background, bonding with his kits, as well as his mother, who resides in the nursery as a permanent queen.
During the Great Battle in The Last Hope, Shrewheart and Hazeltail's kits are young apprentices, Smokepaw and Larchpaw. Smokepaw's mentor is Mousewhisker and Larchpaw's mentor is Icecloud. Shrewheart helps defend the elder's den in ThunderClan's camp, fighting alongside Mousefur and Purdy. He witnesses Mousefur's death, and, like Longtail, is unable to save her. Later, after Brokenstar kills Ferncloud, Shrewheart is desperate to avenge her. However, Yellowfang still gets the honor of killing her evil son again.
In Bramblestar's Storm, it's revealed that Shrewheart's mate, Hazeltail, was among those killed during the greencough epidemic that started in Dovewing's Silence. He and their kits-- warriors Smokeshade and Larchwing-- still grieve for her heavily. Later, during the Great Storm, Shrewheart has difficulty escaping the came as it floods. He nearly drowns, but is saved by his littermate, Spiderleg. He escapes the camp alongside the others. Near the end of the book, he grieves for his father Dustpelt after he is slain by a badger. However, Shrewheart knows that his father is at peace, having been reunited in StarClan with Ferncloud, Hollykit, Larchkit, Foxleap, and Icecloud.
My guess is that Shrewheart would be a very minor background character in the AVoS arc. In The Apprentice's Quest, it's possible that he could bond with Alderpaw due to understanding the young tom's uncertainty. He would also be shown to grieve for his littermate, Spiderleg, who died of greencough sometime between BS and TAQ. Otherwise, I doubt Shrewheart would appear much in this arc.
In The Broken Code, on the other hand, I feel as though Shrewheart could pop back in. One of his kits would probably have a mate in kits, making him a grandfather. Also, being a close friend of Squirrelflight, Shrewheart would likely recognize fairly early on that Bramblestar isn't behaving like himself starting in The Silent Thaw. I can't say for certain whether he would recognize Ashfur's behavior or not, but he would probably be one of the cats advocating against the false Bramblestar. He may even be one of the rebels, just not one of the ones that ambush Brashstar and get themselves killed. After Squirrelflight goes missing, Shrewheart does all he can to help get her back, but cannot be one of the Lights in the Mist that enters the Dark Forest. He is ecstatic when Squirrelflight and Bramblestar are saved.
Sometime between A Light in the Mist and River, I think Shrewheart would retire to the elder's den. He'd be pretty old at this point, on top of being crippled. He might survive the arc, but even if he does, I bet he would pass on soon afterward. He would of course end up in StarClan. If he dies before Thunder, he might even be present during a certain someone's leader ceremony (if it really happened, of course).

Patchkit, I made up a What If scenario: - Patchkit survives by being the closest to Mapleshade, although he is in shock and is very cold - Echosnout and Cloudpaw help nurse Patchkit back to health, and Mapleshade is devastated at Petalkit and Larchkit's deaths - Darkstar denies Mapleshade shelter in RiverClan, but accepts Patchkit due to the law warrior code, which his Clan helped create - Mapleshade argues that Patchkit needs her as a mother, but Darkstar says that Patchkit needed a mother that didn't endanger him with her irresponsibility - Appledusk is charged with teaching Patchkit how to be a RiverClan cat - If Patchkit is not ready to become a RiverClan apprentice in four more moons, Appledusk is to be exiled for disloyalty - Reedshine decided to treat Patchkit as her own - Mapleshade still kills Ravenwing and Frecklewish, and initially does not want to harm Appledusk solely for Patchkit's sake - Still, she attempts to take Patchkit from RiverClan - Reedshine wants to get some fresh air before her kits are born, so she joins Appledusk in training Perchpaw - Mapleshade appears and wants to take Patchkit back, saying that she is his mother - Appledusk says that Reedshine is more of a mother to him than Mapleshade ever was - Enraged, Mapleshade forgets about not wanting to kill Appledusk, and fatally wounds him - Appledusks last words are that in trying to give Patchkit his mother back, Mapleshade killed the only parent he had left - Reedshine is devastated, and she and Perchpaw kill Mapleshade - Perchpaw earns his Clan name, Perchdusk - Patchkit is raised along with his foster siblings, and learns RiverClan culture along with them - He is initially a drypaw due to his trauma, but once he learns to swim, he feels empowered - Mapleshade enters Patchkit's dreams from the Dark Forest, feeding on his longing for his biological parents - Mapleshade hopes that if she gets her closest kit on her side, they can enact revenge on Oakstar's decendants - Perchdusk becomes Patchpaw's mentor - At his first Gathering, ThunderClan is surprised that Patchpaw survived - ThunderClan apprentices make fun of Patchpaw, but are silenced by Nettlebreeze, saying that Mapleshade's actions weren't his fault - Patchpaw knows that Mapleshade did some bad things, but the true extent of her crimes weren't told to him to protect his already messed up childhood - Oakstar speaks with Patchpaw privately, saying that he has grown so big - Patchpaw demands why Oakstar exiled him, and Oakstar replies that he put his personal life in front of the warrior code, and that Cloudberry had told him that the death of Frecklewish was a way for StarClan to teach him that - Oakstar says that another half-Clan kit was born, but he decided to keep him in the Clan to avoid more tragedy - Oakstar continues, saying that if Patchpaw wanted to return to his borth Clan, he could - Patchpaw denies this, and although he appreciates Oakstar's regret, he cannot forgive the ThunderClan leader - In the Dark Forest, Mapleshade tries to convince Patchpaw to go to ThunderClan, and rot it from within - Patchpaw grows skeptical of Mapleshade's intentions - He travels to ThunderClan, and asks Nettlebreeze the true extent of Mapleshade's crimes, saying that he is ready - Upon learning this, Patpaw disowns Mapleshade in his next visit, and vows to make sure no cat gets hurt by her again - Patchpaw travels to the ThunderClan nursery, and puts two reed flowers to honour his littermates - Upon earning his Clan name, Patchpaw asks to be named Patchface, in honour of Barkface - Darkstar is skeptical, but accepts - Patchface wants to prevent war from ThunderClan and RiverClan, and wants to change the warrior code - Patchface mentors Hailpaw, who later becomes Hailstar - The new RiverClan leader, Volestar, makes Patchface his deputy - Patchface partakes in many diplomatic missions to maintain peace for RiverClan - Moons later, Patchface retires and peacefully passes away - In StarClan, Patchface tries to confront Mapleshade when she starts to groom Crookedkit, but is chased away - Patchface gives Crookedstar a life, and is delighted when he disowns Mapleshade - Patchface partakes in the Great Battle, wanting to kill his mother for good to end her treachery - Towards the end, Patface witnesses Spottedleaf's death, and decided to attack Mapleshade while she gloats - He manages to rip his mother's throat, but is fatally wounded - The battle took place away from other cats, so he is bleeding alone in the forest - Appleduck and Reedshine find Patchface, and Patchface's spirit dies being comforted by his true parents

What if Swiftpaw lived and Brightpaw died? - Swiftpaw would have some more severe injuries than Brightpaw would've, since he fought harder to the bitter end.
-He has a missing eye and ear, but also shattered front paws and a deep scar on his belly, and most of his teeth are knocked out and beyond saving.
- Bluestar gives him the name Shatteredpelt, as the amount of wounds and scarring made his pelt look like it was cut into many pieces.
- Speckletail takes care of her grandson, and the elders teach him how to eat, as they had lost teeth due to old age.
- With Cinderpelt, Cloudtail, and Longtail's help, Shatteredpelt relearns how to walk, fun, hunt, and fight, albeit in his own modified way.
- Shatteredpelt becomes close to Cinderpelt, and tried teaching her how to be a warrior again.
- Cinderpelt appreciates this, but said she needed to be a medicine cat to save cats like them.
- Brightpaw gives Firestar a life for mentoring.
- Firestar renames Shatteredpelt to Swiftheart, to honour the fact that following his heart causes him to act fast in dire situations.
- Swiftheart remains close to Longtail and Cloudtail. He helps them train Rainpaw and Sootpaw.
- Swiftheart is very close to Bramblepaw as well, due to their half-brotherhood and shared trauma with Tigerstar.
- When Longtail gets injured, Swiftheart stays by his side, teaching him how to be a warrior with limited eyesight.
- Longtail eventually becomes completely blind over the course of a few moons, and retires. Swiftheart becomes Sootpaw's new mentor.
- When Longtail wants to stay behind in the Old Forest before the Great Journey, Swiftheart decides that if Longtail stays, he does too; creating an ultimatum that makes Longtail go on the Great Journey.
- Cloudtail becomes Daisy's mate when she joins ThunderClan.
- Swiftheart mentors Jaypaw when he is a warrior apprentice, and temporarily mentors Cinderpaw when she recovers from her leg injury.
- Swiftheart still feels immense survivor's guilt about the accident, and loneliness after Cinderpelt dies and Cloudtail drifts apart from him to focus on Daisy's second litter, Dovekit and Ivykit.
- This causes him to be recruited by One Eye to the Dark Forest.
- At first, Swiftheart is happy because he sees how strong One Eye is without the guilt that Swiftheart has.
- Upon being introduced to the other trainees in the program, Swiftheart is horrified when he sees Tigerstar as one of the Dark Forest leaders.
- Tigerstar feigns guilt and repentance, saying that he wants to make up for the "tragic accident" that Swiftpaw had; but Swiftheart doesn't believe this at all.
- Ivypaw learns this, and he joins her as a spy.
- Swiftheart convinces most of the trainees to fight against the Dark Frest, but is killed by Tigerstar for being a traitor.
- He retains his missing eye in StarClan, but all other injuries are healed.
- Swiftheart gives Bramblestar a life for brotherhood, and treating all cats as brothers and sisters.
