Ugh Finleap he's such a creep. Twigbranch should have never forgiven him for how he treated her.

If Finleap has 1000 haters, I am one of them. If he has 1, I am that hater. If he has 0, know that I’m dead. ^^ this he’s such a pressuring ass. If Twigbranch ends up pregnant later in the series I’ll probably quit Warriors. To me Twig is asexual, and to see her being violated so easily is upsetting for me personally. The thing is even when he was nice, now that I look back at it, that “nice” mask can be a cover up for a potential issue that he could be using right now to fool Twig back into an illusion of safety. He’s probably going to start pressuring for kits next arc again.

finleap hateclub, assemble!! but in all seriousness, he is a terrible character and doesn't deserve twigbranch. most points i have for disliking him have already been said- he's manipulative, sulky, pouty, jealous, inconsistiently written, immature, and pressured twigbranch to have kits. he acted like a toddler when he didnt get exactly what he wanted, and, iirc, threatened to leave thunderclan after that incident? he is a severely underdeveloped character, and honestly didn't get enough backlash from twigbranch and his clanmates for acting as selfishly as he did. i dislike him very much, and just in general he's very icky- they should've broken up. twigbranch deserves a medal for putting up with him i don’t like how he switched up? he was so sweet as a ‘paw and then suddenly he started to want kits and pressure twigbranch into wanting them- very manipulative He strikes me as manipulative- his “nice” side could be a cover up, and we could see another kits argument in the near future.

My brain went: Finleap vs Bramblestar Don't ask why, I care for neither for these characters. I feel like this should be the argument of the decade for some reason

I really don’t want to be attacked here but she kept bringing it up again throughout the novel, seemed a little off for me. Then again everything was off in Squirrelflight’s Hope. Nowhere as bad as Finleap though - she just wanted more kits as she was concerned at how old she was. I shuddered at the thought of Brambles living longer than her.. imagine your loved one outliving you

He’s probably going to start pressuring for kits next arc again. I say this as someone who's on the ace spectrum, being asexual has nothing to do with wanting a child or not, biological or otherwise. And, well, it isn't called a spectrum for nothing, after all. I can't really see Twigbranch as a mother myself and the Finleap incident really shouldn't have happened in the first place, but in the event she ever does end up having kits eventually, I always interpreted her arguments with Finleap as her not wanting kits at the moment. And given the timing, it makes perfect sense: she would've still been readjusting to life in ThunderClan at the time, had finally become a warrior after so long, and was now a mentor to (in her eyes, at least) a flighty apprentice, not to mention her concern for SkyClan. Kits would've been the last thing on her mind. Really, I hope she stays kitless, but if she ever does end up having a family, it wouldn't necessarily mean Finleap had relapsed and she'd given in this time, but that Twigbranch had simply changed her mind. Because that sort of thing happens too. And even then, it wouldn't necessarily make her any less ace, either.

To me it feels like Twig never really wants kits and that it won’t change over time, so Finleap pressuring her into making a family seems really wrong. But then again everyone views things differently, so you do you

Imo Finleap's behavior didn't come out of nowhere, it was more like an inevitable consequence, just like Twigbranch's characterization at the time.
Twigbranch was wishy-washy about where she wanted to be, which led to her warrior ceremony being delayed twice. She gets angry about it, despite it being perfectly logical, however, I don't criticize this much since she has a valid reason for her clan hopping.
On the other hand, Finleap wasn't actually punished for his behavior, let alone properly scolded. He ran away from home, on a whim, for a girl, without much thought, at a young age. Then had ThunderClan practically fawning over him because he unknowingly buttered up to them with compliments. (Which ironically made Twigbranch jealous.)
Then because of the pressure of Twigbranch trying to prove herself constantly, and wanting to show that she did belong in ThunderClan, she ends up being too harsh on Flywhisker. They do makeup later, but the rift was notable. Finleap then buts in and tries to give advice about an apprentice that's not even his, and then starts pushing the kit agenda.
It's not even that Twigbranch didn't want kits at all, she just didn't want them YET, and she wanted to focus more on her "career", and then later tells him that she'll have kits when she wants to. When she's ready, and that maybe one day she might never be ready at all. Which, honestly, yeah, makes sense, good for her.
But Finleap takes this in the worst way possible. He thinks because he upped and left his entire family behind, his clan, his kin, etc, for her, that he's entitled to have a new family here in ThunderClan so he feels like he "belongs" more. He thinks because he made that "sacrifice" for her, that she could in return give him kits. Which honestly, was disgusting to think. But you can see WHERE that thought process came from.
Young stupid little Finpaw, running away, throwing all caution to the wind, out of nowhere, to just be with her. And that behavior got worse and developed into what he was at that point. He didn't think about what he was giving up at all, and now thinks he's entitled to try and force Twigbranch into a compromise to get what he wants. Threatening to even leave her if she didn't, and then even accusing her of being in love with her sister's mate, which was ????
Yeah, I'm actually glad Twig stood her ground, but honestly, she could have done so much better.
I also hate when people compare Bumblestripe and Finleap to one another, they're not the same. And Finleap is what people think Bumblestripe was.
