It honestly feels to me that people are so entreched in online discourse that it's starting to dilute their perceptions of what an actual problem is. At the end of the day, they are fictional characters who do not exist. They are cats. This fandom - on every platform, not just Twitter and Tumblr - is full of "you just have an opinion I disagree with, you are a fundamentally horrible person who supports abuse." Everything is made into an intrinsic matter of morality instead of an issue of knowledge, perspective, or context. It's a simplistic and unforgiving way of thinking. These characters are fictional. They do not exist. They are not real. The failure to distinguish between fiction and reality is a serious concern. Clinging to such an absolutist view in discussions about fictional narratives is ridiculous. People need to step and remember that these are just stories at the end of the day. Allowing fictional content to dictate real-world interactions to such an extent is neither healthy nor rational. Also, we've been through this argument so many times, and it's really getting tiring. We keep getting worked up over things that happen in stories, involving characters that aren't even real. We need to remember that these are just stories. There's no point in arguing so much about them. It's important to remember that it's okay for people to have different ideas about these stories and characters. Just because someone thinks differently doesn't mean they're wrong or bad. We should listen to each other and respect that everyone sees things in their own way. Arguing and getting angry doesn't help anyone. Let's be kind to each other, agree to disagree sometimes, and enjoy these stories in our own ways. This is a great take, I feel like most people from the fandom should realise this once in a while
