I really wish the Erins kept breezepelt as a villain, and they probably should have let him join the kin as a second in command for Darktail. CT really fumbled his character and even though it’s my second favorite SE, I don’t like that part of it.

Not sure about him joining the Kin, but I definitely agree his redemption arc was the worst thing about the SE. It could've been handed way better without there being a need to downplay his actions; at the very least, his attack on Jayfeather and Poppyfrost at the Moonpool should've been acknowledged, but at this point, I doubt it ever will be. Three of his Clanmates failing to forgive him at the end of the book doesn't really mean a thing to me, especially considering Leaftail, Gorsetail, Weaselfur aren't really that important outside of his SE anyway (and even within it, I'd still say just barely).

Up until like a year ago or so, I would've loved for Breezepelt to be a villain. But while I still think that his redemption could've been written better in CT and that he had potential as a continued antagonist in DS, I'm moreso liking him as a background WindClan father of four daughters in AVoS, TBC and ASC these days. Even though I don't like BreezeHeather as a ship.
Still wish the situation of him attacking Poppyfrost and Jayfeather (an at the time pregnant queen and his blind medicine cat half-brother) was ever acknowledged again after OotS or that some of his fans would stop trying to downplay it by blaming Crowfeather's neglect of him for it instead of rightfully holding him accountable for his own actions. I too like Breezepelt as a character and do feel bad for how Crowfeather treated him. That being said though, he's ultimately the one responsible for the bs he pulled even if Crowfeather played his part in it as a largely absent and cold father figure.
Love how he hasn't lost any of his bite though. He's such a menace but in a fun and harmless way these days lol. Not sure about him thriving in the Kin as a villain though. Because he does have cats in WindClan he likes (Nightcloud and Heathertail). Could've moreso seen him team up again with Sol like he did in TFW.
