Longer sample of the Prophecies Begin graphic novel is out!

I love the artstyle and expressions! The designs are great too. Though, maybe it’s just me, but Sandpaw and Lionheart look a little too…brown? Lionheart is golden-brown and Sandpaw is pale ginger, but here they look just a little too brown to me. Maybe I’m looking too far into it though.

I'm really loving the coloring work, and all the designs for the characters! I especially love Bluestar's white star marking on her chest! I wish the iconic Rusty vs Longtail battle had been a liiiiitle bit longer tho?? But I do like this adaptation of it regardless and I think the actual fight scene was pretty cool, especially when Longtail rips the collar off. Also lol at the "CRONCH" when Rusty is eating his cat kibble and at Tigerclaw congratulating Lionheart

I actually like how it's not completely identical to Into the Wild plot and pace-wise. It makes it more unique, and we get to fine-tune the original ItW so we can focus on the heart and meat of the story.

Lol! That "Yay Darkstripe" made me laugh, not gonna lie. I also found the congratulations that Tigerclaw gave Lionheart pretty funny. Also, I really adore Spottedleaf's design. All in all, they did cut out some scenes, but it's looking good overall.

Poor Dustpaw, that panel of his grief during the ceremony with Darkstripe… I can’t think of another apprentice who had to accept a new mentor during the vigil of their old one. I guess it shows the reality Firepaw’s in for during TPB— death is a frequent fixture in the Clans, and life must move on.

Anyways, everything looks amazing! It feels nostalgic, vibrant, and uniquely new all at once!

Putting on my critical lens, I don't know how I feel about the pacing. The prologue felt very fast and a little confusing. I feel like a new fan might not really understand what's going on. The original prologue was confusing too - but mostly because readers don't understand the terms and names being thrown around yet. Not because you can't follow along with what's happening in the Sunningrocks fight and the following POV switch to Bluestar and Spottedleaf.

I think the GN could benefit from a few more panels showing what's going on. Thankfully, the story flows a little better the more it goes along. Hopefully the rest of the GN will be like that too. I'm a bit worried since it'll be two Warriors book combined into one story, but I'll withhold my judgments until the whole book is released.

I'm also not sure what to think about the more lighthearted take on some of these scenes. It's cute, but I like the humor in Warriors when it's sprinkled in, not when it's in every panel. Some of those expressions are just too silly for me ;A;

Despite my criticisms, I'm still very excited about these books because they're a fresh take on a series we all know by heart. Not everyone will enjoy the changes, but it's supplementary content. You don't need to read them to fully enjoy Warriors. So I appreciate seeing the different approaches, even if it's slightly different than what my version of a Warriors GN would be.

Also wanna throw in that I LOVE the artstyle. It's so cute. Spottedleaf is adorable; I love her sparkly eyes. Although I feel like poor Lionheart got the short end of the stick...he's a taaaad bit ugly. In an endearing way, I promise.
