Introduction
You find yourself staring at a all white cat with what appears to have faint stars twinkling in his fur. "Hello traveler, may I ask where you are headed?" The figure waits to let you speak and when you explain his eyes suddenly light up. "Ahh! You are on your way to see the cats living in the castle eh? Those cats are apart of a group known as SovereignClan! You won't meet another group like them! I suggest you mind yourself now. They are a little stuck up and won't hesitate to skin your hide should you step out of line." You give the stranger a look wondering just how tough these cats could be. The white tom twitches his whiskers sensing your doubt. "I suppose you won't know until you meet them yourself! Go along now and should you be interested in joining I wish you luck. Oh who am I? Well my name is Cloudsong." You nod your head to Cloudsong and start heading off. Feeling a weird sensation, you turn back to ask Cloudsong something, but he is suddenly gone. You blink confused before shaking your head and heading towards the castle. Cloudsong watches on looking pleased with himself. He would see how this cat faired with his old clanmates.
About the Clan:
SovereignClan is a clan made up of cats of all shapes and sizes. These cats value loyalty and hard work. Because of the way the clan works, certain cats think they are better than those outside of the clan. This does not deter cats from developing friendships and romantic relations long as they remember where their loyalities lie. Every cat has an important role to play along with following strict rules.
Territory and Landmarks
The clan's territory is mainly up of forest, grassland and a few rocky areas. The weather is usually sunny with some occasional rain and big thunderstorms that pas through. Summers are usually hot and dry while winters and cold and snowy.
Mighty Oak Tree
There is a huge oak tree that towers over all who come near. The oak tree has many twisting branches and a thick trunk with many claw marks near the base. It's considered tradition for new hunters and knights to add their claw marks into the tree. There are a number of birds who make their nest in the oak tree along with larger birds such as owls or hawks. The mighty oak is a good place to hunt mice and squirrels and to practice climbing.
Lover's Lake
In the center of the forest, there is a large lake in the shape of a heart. The lake is a popular hunting spot and for dates due to it's quiet and serene atmosphere. At night, the fireflies come out and the moon makes the water glow. Rumor has it that if you confess to your lover at a certain spot during a full moon that you and your lover will be together forever. Some swear that the lake is magical.
The Sky Falls
The Sky Falls is a waterfall that cascades down into Lover's Lake. It's on a large cliff that acts as an overlook for cats on patrol. Climbing up the cliff is pretty easy, but cats are urged to watch out for falling rocks and to watch their footing. At the top of the waterfall is a larger pool of water and a river that feeds it.
Flower Fields
To the east of the forest is a place known as the flower fields. This place has many different wild flowers and tall grasses to hide cats and prey. This is another popular hunting spot and a good place to practice stalking and tracking.
Twoleg Village:
The Twoleg village sits at the edge of the clan's territory. There is a highway that marks as the border between the two. The village has a good number of twoleg dens and buildings. The village has a stray cat problem that no one seems interested in fixing so many commoners call this area home. Most clan cats stay away cause they could get snatched by a twoleg or attacked by a commoner.
Paradise Farms:
Paradise farms sits at the top of the flower fields. The farm is home to cows, chickens, pigs and ducks. There are a couple of barns and a house for the farmer to sleep in. The farm is considered neutral ground for clan cats and commoners. The two main rules are to remain civil and to not attack the chickens or ducks. Should anything happen, the farmer will start laying our traps or send his three massive dogs out to find the culprit. Only prey you can hunt are mice and rats.
Stone Cluster
The stone cluster is five stones if different sizes bunched up together. No one is sure why they are like that or who put them there. The ground here is soft and a little sand. The cluster acts as a training ground for squires and toxophilites.
The Castle
The castle is a large structure made out of stone, that is partially covered in moss and vines. The castle rests on a hill. The entrance has two large wooden doors that are always open. In the back of the castle, there are two smaller doors that are also left open. The castle has many rooms and five floors. Some rooms are forbidden for certain cats to enter while others are free to everyone. Most of the windows are shut but some can be let open and closed via some rope. There is a cobblestone path that goes to the entrance of the castle down a winding path that branches off in two directions. One leads you to the grasslands and the other to the forest.
First Floor: Public Space
Main Entrance:
When you first enter the castle you will reach the main entrance which is a large open area which leads to different halls and rooms. There is a tall staircase that takes you up to different floors. Each floor has a landing and a smaller set of stairs connected to the main staircase.
Great Hall:
The Great Hall is what used to be a dining room area. There is a long table with several chairs on either side of it. This is where most cats hang out, eat and lay about. There is a short hallway that connects the main entrance to the Great Hall. Usually the King will do his announcements and ceremonies here. Prey is usually left on the table during the day for cats to eat whenever. At night the leftovers are taken to the kitchen.
Kitchen:
This room is mainly used to keep prey until it is time to eat. Most of the prey is kept in the ovens, open drawers or kept in a pile under the table. The kitchens are really useful for days when prey is scarce. While usually left unguarded, there will occasionally be a knight posted to make sure no one takes an extra piece of prey.
Infirmary and Herbalist rooms:
To the left of the main entrance, there are two rooms connected to each other. One Room is where the herbalist sleep and the other acts as an infirmary for sick and injured cats. This is so the Herbalists can check on their patients whenever.
Senior's Room:
Across from the infirmary is a room for the seniors. Thier nests are mainly made up of old pillows, cushions, mattresses, moss, leaves and feathers. These items help to with the seniors joints and they have access to a herbalist should one of them fall ill. Prey is usually taken to them my the young cats but anyone is welcome to bring them prey.
Gardens:
Located in the back of the castle is the gardens. This is where the herbalists grow and gather the herbs they need to tend to their clanmates. Though overgrown with weeds and the like, the gardens are still pretty impressive. Along with herbs, there are different flowers, bushes, certain trees and hedges. At the edge of the garden is a hedge maze with a fountain in the center. The younger cats like to play in the maze and some ceremonies are held in the garden.
Second Floor: Accessible for all during the day except commoners
Knight's Quarters:
The knights quarters is a spacious bedroom with dark colors and a queen sized bed in the center. There are two couches on opposite sides of the room. There is plenty of space for knights to sleep wherever they want. Some sleep on the bed while others prefer the couch or even the floor.

Squires, Students and Toxophilites Rooms:
What used to be children's bedrooms now acts as rooms for the young cats in training. This is so that the young cats can bond and create lasting relationships. However there is no rule stating that they all must sleep together, so some will find an empty bedroom to sleep in should their clanmates get a bit loud for their liking.
Nursery:
At the end of the hallway is where the nursery is located. This is a medium sized room with a spacious walk in closet and dark blue walls. Some mother's prefer to keep their kits under the bed, others prefer the privacy of the closet and some really don't care.
Guest Rooms:
These bedrooms empty and act as extra places to sleep should the main sleeping area be to much. On the occasion the castle gets a commoner or two who need a place to stay, the king can invite them to stay in one of the guest rooms.

The Artifact rooms
The fifth floor has a series of rooms that house many old and unique looking artifacts. Some of these items are said to bless you with great power while others will bring a curse to any cat who touch or look at it. No one really knows where these items came from or how they got their special properties. The royal family has kept these items safe for generations in order to keep the clan safe. The artifacts are only to be used in time of great crisis.
King:
The king acts as the leader of the clan. The king is given five lives and has the ability to do whatever they want. Wherever the king goes a group of three or four royal guards follow. While mostly male, there has been two female kings. As king, you are respected by all and given the best prey and bedding. Some kings demand tributes from their subjects while others doesn't really cool.
Queen
The queen is usually the mate of the king. She is usually the voice of reason and helps with coming up with laws and decisions. Like the king, she should be respected and to insult the queen is considered a capitol offense. Should anything happen to the king, the queen has the power to take over until the destined heir comes of age.
Destined Heir
Destined heir is the cat who is next in line to become king. The heir is usually chosen either as a newborn or when they turn six moons old. The destined heir is always the child of the king and queen. The heir is taught how to rule, fight and sometimes hunt. The heir's mate is usually already picked out much to the dismay of said heir.
Princess and Princesses
These are the children of the king and queen. Should anything happen to the destined heir one of the children will be considered. The children of the king and queen undergo special training. They are taught by one of the royal guards, head hunter and high priest/priestess. Like the heir mates are usually picked out though sometimes they can pick their own mates provided it's not a commoner.

The right paw is the adviser and second in command of the king and queen. Should anything happen to the royal family, the right paw will become king and his the queen. Right Paw oversees patrols and keeps track of what's going on in order to report back to the king and queen. To be chosen to be the right paw is considered a great privilege and shouldn't be taken lightly. To become right paw you have to have been a royal guard or a head hunter.
High Priest/Priestess: (30 to 100+)
The high priest and priestess is another honorable and respectable role within the clan. They are cats who are chosen by the starry ancestors to be the spiritual guides. Most were herbalist who were given a sign or spoken directly. They offer advice to anyone who needs it especially to the king and queen. Most spend their time alone to meditate or help out the herbalist. They encouraged not to have mates or kits.
Herbalists: (20 to 100+ moon)
Herbalists act as the medicine cats to the clan. They are knowledgeable in herbs and how to treat injuries and sicknesses. Some of the best act as personal doctors to the royal family. These cats also tend to the garden and makes sure new herbs are planted. Every couple of moons, a couple of herbalists will go to paradise farm and tend to any cats who need help and in exchange they are given seeds to plant in their garden.
Royal Guards: (Age ranges 50 moons to 100+ moons)
Royal guards are senior knights who's main goal is to protect the royal family. They stand guard and do patrols around the castle and parts of the territory. Royal guards are considered the bravest and fiercest cats in the clan. When not on guard duty, they usually are on patrols, training or hanging out with everyone else. Even during times of peace, guards are to be always be on alert.
Head Hunters: (Age ranges 50 moons to 100+ moons)
Head Hunters are senior hunters of the clan. They are considered the sneakiest, smartest and most cunning cats in the clan. These cats can hunt just about anything. They provide most of the food for the royal family.
Knights: (Ages range from 20-100 moons)
Knights are cats who act as foot soldiers to the clan. They are the first line of defense and will even give their lives to defend their clanmates. Knights patrol the territory, and act as guards for anyone leaving the castle. Because of this, knights know the territory inside and out. Some even act as scouts going beyond their borders in order to find more land to claim for the clan.
Hunters: (Ages range from 20-100 moons)
Hunters provide food for everyone within the clan. Some hunters only hunt birds while others stick to ground prey. Only prey, they cannot hunt are the ducks and chickens at the farm. However, this doesn't stop a few from trying to see just how close they can get before running away.
Squires, Students and Toxophilites: (Ages range from 6 moons to 13 moons)
These are young cats training to become a knight, herbalist or a hunter. Squires are training to be knights, students are training to be herbalist and toxophilites are training to be hunters. For the first three years, the rank isn't permanent. They are encouraged to learn from at least one knight, hunter and herbalist to see if that is what they truly want to be. Most young cats know within their first year while others take a little while. At year four, they either changed mentors or keep the one they have. By 10 moons, you should know what rank you wish to be.
Mothers and Kits:
Mothers are mollys who are expecting or are tending to the kits. Permanent mothers are known as den mothers. They watch over the kits while the mother leaves to stretch her legs or have some time to herself. During the warm months, cats are encouraged to have lots of kits in order to keep the ranks filled up. Kits are the life blood of the clan. They grow up to eventually become hunters, knights and herbalist. Kits are not to be harmed and are to be well taken care of.
Seniors: (Age ranges from 100 to 150+ if lucky)
Seniors are cats who cannot serve their clan whether because of age or injury. They have earned the right to relax and to live out their final days fat and happy. Some have been around for a long time and like to tell stories to anyone who will listen. Sometimes, the king will come to them for guidance.
Outsiders/Commoners
Outsiders better known as commoners to the clan are cats who live outside of the clan. These are a mix of rogues, loners and kittypets. Most stay away from the clan's territory while others try and sneak in. Many harbor resentment to the clan cause they were kicked out of their homes or attacked. Every so often a big group will get together to try and get revenge or drive off the clan. However, this rarely ever works.
Starry Ancestors
These are the clan's version of Starclan. Some seniors claim the starry ancestors have always been around. They are a mysterious and rather strange group that prefer to speak in riddles or in outdated language. Any cat who dies and has not committed a deadly sin will join their starry ancestors. No one is sure how many there are, but some cats speculate that there are hundreds.
Black Hearts
These are cats who have committed a deadly sin or were overall terrible cat in life and upon their deaths were forbidden from joining their starry ancestors. Thier realm is known as the shadowlands. They are forced to wander a desolate swamp forest where the air is forever cold. A pale moon shines forever in the sky though randomly, the moon will disappear leaving the land in darkness for a random set of time. The darkness and cold usually drives most cats mad and they become a former shell of themselves. Others plot their revenge and lie in wait to fight back the starry ancestors.

Traditions and Customs
One of the things the clan cats like to do is collect things such as bones, flowers, pretty rocks ect. Items they deem valuable, they can gift to the king or to anyone in the royal family. To make themselves stand out, herbalists will crush up berries and paint themselves or their clanmates in unique designs. Berry painting is very popular during marriage ceremonies and festivals.
Marriage ceremony
When two cats want to become mates, they go to a high priest or priestess who will officiate the ceremony. The ceremony could be a small quick thing or something grand for everyone to witness. The latter is usually for members of the royal line. Should two cats decided that this was a mistake, they must complete a task to symbolize that their marriage is no longer valid.

The Unity Festival:
Once every moon or couple of moon, depending on the current king and queen, the clan will have a celebration that goes from morning all the way past dusk. This festival is to bring the clan together for a day of games, eating and socializing. Commoners are invited to come and join in on the festivities. The festival is usually takes place in the castle and down by the lake but has taken place in other parts of the territory. No matter what may be going on there is an agreement by all that there is to be no blood shed during the festival.
Graduation
Before a young cat can become a hunter, knight or herbalist they must pass past of series of tests given to them either by their mentor or by a higher up ranking cat. This can vary from catching certain prey, holding your own in a fight or reciting all the herbs and their uses. Sometimes, the young cats are sent out on their own and must survive for a number of days. Should these cats complete these tasks the king will have a special ceremony for them. If not the young cat must undergo training for another moon or so.
